Hero
The next few weeks were stressful. The subtle problems couldn't be blamed on anyone in particular, but there were suspicions. The small glitches in the security systems that popped up even after they had been fixed already were easily blamed on the American, but Tohma couldn't directly do much. Small problems with personnel and scheduling were easily blamed on the President, especially considering the slight problems the manager was causing in the new, state-of-the-art security system that was only too easy to adjust to create little... issues.
Hiro paced the hallways, looking for a certain brunet singer. He knew that, considering, the situation was not as bad as it could have been, but he didn't notice any improvements, and if it didn't improve... well, the frustrations were building.
Walking down a level, he turned to see Ryuichi peering suspiciously around a corner. Walking up to him, he cleared his throat. Then jumped backwards in fright as the (affectionately) termed 'little freak' let out a shrill shriek and whirled.
“Sakuma-san!”
“Oh! Hi! Ummm... gotta go!” And he darted around the corner.
Rolling his eyes, Hiro reached out and snagged him by the sleeve, bringing him to an abrupt halt. “Sakuma-san! I need to talk to you about what's going on.”
Wide, innocent eyes turned to him cluelessly. “What's going on? I don't know. Why? What's going on?”
“Well, why are you creeping around?”
Ryuichi gasped and flailed. “I forgot! Come on, hurry your ass up! We have to keep following Tohma!”
Hiro stared blankly until Ryuichi grabbed his wrist and pulled him along. “Wait, Sakuma-san. Why are we following Seguchi-san?”
“We have to watch him. Look for openings. Yep-yep!”
“Okay, but you have to explain first.” And Hiro planted his feet, leaving Ryuichi yanking fruitlessly at his arm.
Ryuichi sighed and, whining, began to explain K's attraction to his keyboardist.
Tohma watched the two from down the hallway quietly. He'd hoped Ryuichi would involve Bad Luck; that removed him as the villain when he had to confront them for their knowledge. It was, after all, the one weakness of K's that he had full control over.
“Nakano-san, I need to speak to you.”
Hiro turned warily to the blond keyboardist, suppressing a flash of surprise at the quick response to his inquiries. “Yes, Seguchi-san?”
“I'm aware that you know of K-san's distasteful actions recently. I must inform you that your knowledge of this was not intentional and neither will be any interference on his behalf. Furthermore, if I have any reason to suspect you are attempting to aid him in these immature objectives I'll be forced to include Bad Luck when disciplining K-san for his actions. I expect you to make wise decisions.”
Shuichi ran at him as Suguru looked up anxiously when he entered their studio. “Hiroooo! We're in trouble and we didn't do anything!”
Suguru stood. “Nakano-san, perhaps you could explain to Shindou-san and I what that exchange was about?”
Hiro sighed. “K has been flirting with Seguchi-san and it's pissing him off. I guess Seguchi-san thinks we'll help K or something ridiculous like that.”
Shuichi perked up. “But we should! We should help K if he's in love with Seguchi-san!”
Suguru paled. “Shindou-san, I don't think you're quite comprehending what you're suggesting...”
“We're not going to help, Shuichi!”
“But Hiro...!”
“Sit down and shut up, both of you! K-san will be back soon!” Suguru looked frantic.
“But...!”
K walked in, careful to seem completely unsuspicious. Ryuichi's protection didn't seem to be enough, and he was seething that Tohma would threaten one of his own bands simply to keep his emotional handicaps protected.
