Catastrophe and Release
LP: Wow...Hyper much? xD. I just, uhm, I have issues with writing animals or creatures that look like animals...mating. Its just, weird. Again, I\'ll feel like a hypocrite in a few chapters...:x...But, hey. I looked at your profile. You\'re a bit older than me. xD. You\'re not allowed to be older than me! Lol. I feel old now too though, because we\'re both over 20 and writing/reading about a show meant for like, 13 year olds. xD!
Chapter Thirteen - "Catastrophe and Release"
It seems that they\'ve come well prepared. I suppose they would call on the old tamers; a mild oversight. I\'ll just have to let them take Cody as I planned. If they can figure out how to get in, ha. I just hope they manage to do that in the next hour, otherwise I\'ll have to leave for Jade and remain curious. Hellooooo, who is that other girl in the black? I don\'t recognize that body. She isn\'t Yolei, that\'s for sure. Who could she be? It couldn\'t be JADE - could it? I can\'t see her face - but it looks like her figure. Wormmon, go have a look...What do you mean you can\'t fly?! Argh, fine. Useless Digimon, I\'ll go myself.

Jade slid to a stop at a tree a dozen feet away as Pijumon leaped from her arms. He began bouncing around as she moved to pick him up.
"Pijumon, there\'s not time for games right now!"
"No - wait. Listen. No one but us knows about this, right? Maybe we could use it as blackmail to get that kid back!"
"Blackmail? Why would he care if we know who he is?"
"He\'s wearing goggles and that weird costume, right? Obviously, he doesn\'t want to be discovered. Don\'t you think he\'d make every effort to keep it secret?"
"Maybe - but how do you suggest we get in it?"
"...I didn\'t quite think that far ahead."
"No, you didn\'t. So all we can do is tell the others and hatch a new plan."
"Jade, I think we should hold on to that information. We could still use it, and who know what will happen in the real world once his identity is leaked out. Ever piss off a bee?"
"You\'re not going to stop convincing me to stop, are you?"
"No."
"Argh, FINE!" exclaimed Jade, who slunk herself down on a nearby log. "Its not like he\'s the Dali Lama, you know."
"Still." Pijumon spoke, bouncing over to her. He landed in her lap, then lept onto her shoulder, where he wrapped his tail partly around the back of her neck for balance.
"Why did I design you with just real world knowledge? Why couldn\'t I add in how to digivolve?"
"Ummm, because you had no clue about it then?"
"...That was a rhetorical question."
"Why don\'t you just hit buttons and see what happens? Or talk to it?"
"Yeah, like THAT\'S going to work. Damn thing, it\'s totally useless. Why didn\'t it come with instructions?" she spoke, bringing the digivice out of her pocket. "Do you get it, you dumb thing? DI-GI-VOLVE. DIGIVOOOOOLVE. DIIIIGIIIIIVOOOOOOLVE." she spoke, slowly, as if it were some sentient object. Aggravated, she stuffed the digivice in her pocket. Shortly after though, the soft glow on her shoulder caught her attention. It was the same glow the egg had when she touched it. After a moment, her shoulder dipped slightly from the newly added weight. "Huh?" she exclaimed, glancing out the corner of her eye. "Requimon?! How did THAT happen?!"

Angemon fired yet another blast of holy energy at the unrelenting Vermilliomon, as Angewomon did the same for another. This battle wasn\'t going as quickly as Davis had hoped; it was lasting way too long for comfort. It was as if the Vermilliomon and Devimon had built up a resistance to their attacks. Granted, the fight had only gone on a few minutes, it still felt way too long. All the digimon were looking like they were just barely keeping it together. Maybe he should have let Jade help. He frowned, and glanced up to the hill where he\'d left her. Was she safe? What if the kaiser spotted her, and kidnapped her? What would happen if he got hold of her, learning that she were a new tamer? He wanted to go to her, but he couldn\'t just leave the battle scene - could he? Not as leader.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"Ha! Look at that pathetic little leader of theirs, he looks terrified." Ken thought to himself, staring out over the battle scene before him. "Should I have a heart and release their friends and leave them alone? Nah, this is too much fun to watch. It\'s far too entertaining. They don\'t even know I\'m behind them; they\'re too focused on their silly little digimon. I could kill them where they stand; they truly need better training in war. But, hold on - that girl, she\'s staring at me - that new one. Curious. She knows I\'m here, yet she isn\'t warning the others." The emperor started on a path walking closer to her, but remaining far behind the tamers, enough to not attract attention. As he got closer, her form became much more clearer - and soon, her face was crystal. It was Jade, just quite a bit darker. God she was gorgeous like that; black hair, black clothing...He could easily take her then and there, if there weren\'t others around. His eyes flashed with evil thought; that\'s exactly what he would do; get her alone.
"He\'s walking over, Requimon..." she whispered to the blue dragon on her shoulder with cautious green eyes locked on the emperor. Requimon was protectively wrapping his tail around her neck. "Do we run, do we scream, what?"
"Stay put. Let him. He won\'t do anything stupid. If he does, I\'ll just splatter his ears with an Echo Of Destruction."
"Are you sure? He might look harmless, but he\'s evil."
"Does that mean all evil beings are harmful? I should be living proof that isn\'t true."
"You\'re not evil though. Shhh, he\'ll hear us..." she trailed off, as the distance was closed between them.
"Well well, you\'re a new tamer."
"Keen observation, oh self-proclaimed royal one. What was your first clue?" Requimon sneered, bearing his fangs.
"Hmmm, vicious little digimon you\'ve gotten yourself. I may have to muzzle that wretched beast. I\'m not here to harm you; I wouldn\'t\'ve come so boldly forth if my intentions were to maim you. I merely wanted to meet the newest of the forces who continually fail to stop me."
"Well, KAISER, I won\'t hesitate to slay you of you come an inch closer to my tamer."
"I\'m not looking to talk to YOU, digimon. Now shut up before I make you."
"Requimon, hush..." Jade muttered, placing her palm on his paw. He reluctantly lowered his head, though not without giving Ken a warning hiss.
"At least it\'s obedient. There\'s nothing worse than an asshole that never listens to it\'s tamer."
"I guess you\'re right; you\'d know more about being an asshole..." Requimon muttered, under his breath. Ken decided to ignore it, and let his eyes flitter over Jade.
"It\'s a shame you\'re on their site; you\'re quite dark. You\'d do well on my team."
"Well, that\'ll never happen. I happen to like doing the right thing."
"And what IS the right thing? It\'s all in perspective. To me, I\'M doing the right thing. It\'s all based on how you see the world. You tamers see everything with rose-colored glasses which show everything else as evil; while I have a much darker hue on my eyes. To me, YOU are evil." Jade perked a brow. However bizarre it was, he had a point.
"But you have to admit the atrocities you\'ve committed isn\'t quite the way to reach your goals."
"Perhaps. But, it\'s the most effective - and in a world like this, effective rules over heart. I suppose I could learn a bit of heart from you guys; I\'ll make you a deal. If you come with me and surrender yourself and your digimon to my throne, then I will release Cody, call off the digimon, and let them all get home safely." Jade froze. She hadn\'t been expecting that offer. But, if she could ensure their release, maybe she could get herself free.
"I might be interested - depending on if you complete your word first."
"You don\'t trust me? I hardly blame you. Fine; I\'ll follow up on my end of the bargain first. Come with me, and your vicious little virus can release him."
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
"Wait, look!" Joe exclaimed, pointing off towards the temple. A shadowy lump was slowly sliding off towards the rim. As if related, the Devimon turned, and started to fly away; shortly followed by the Vermilliomon, whom looked possessed as they turned away.
"What on earth?" questioned Mimi, tilting her head as Lillymon landed beside her.
"I think..I think we won...somehow..." Davis replied, staring at the shadowy mass nearing the edge. Soon, a hand fell from the rim. Izzy raised a brow, and Sora gasped.
"Pull it, stupid! Don\'t stand there!" hissed Requimon, whom was awkwardly flittering about in the wall. "It won\'t kill you if I\'m here, now hurry up, your buddy needs you." Davis dashed over, quickly followed by Matt and Joe. The three worked on pulling the unconscious Cody from his prison.
"OH MY GOD!" exclaimed Matt, who first got a glance at his body. He looked as though... "What the hell?"
"ANGEMON, ANGEWOMON, HEAL HIM!" barked out Joe, who, knelt beside Cody, set on pulling away the suffocatingly small clothing he had on. The two digimon reacted immediately, but stopped suddenly as if they\'d hit a wall.
"We can\'t get close because of the temple..." Angewomon replied, looking at the boy helplessly.
"Get him to your world!" Angemon commented, as the two flew back a few feet. "That\'s his only hope!" Davis nodded in agreement.
"Yeah. He needs a hospital. How\'re we going to explain this?" he replied, pulling out his D2 to summon a portal. The others followed suit, as Davis and Joe took one of Cody\'s arms each, Matt lifting the legs. Davis glanced over his shoulder at Requimon.
"Hey, thanks blue-dude. Jade, you coming?" he called out, glancing around for her. Where had she gone? "Jade?..." Requimon gave Davis a grim look, and turned his head back into the temple. It seemed as though the emperor had thought of everything; Jade was trapped. "No...No no no..." Davis spoke, letting a slight bit of grip on Cody go. "No no no...This can\'t be...happening..." his voice had reduced to a whisper as her form began to fade from view as the temple\'s living walls began to thicken. Requimon was forced to retreat within; the acidic force of it had taken over. The portal began to open; there was nothing Davis could do. She\'d traded herself, he knew she had. The kaiser would have no ther reason to let them go. He had her; he had his Jade. A tear trailed down his cheek, and struck the ground below as his form started to fade into the portal. "JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA---" he screamed out, reaching for where she\'d last been seen, the portal closing off the last half of her name.
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *
Jade bowed her head in pain as Davis\' voice called out to her, like a thousand hearts tearing at once. She knew it\'d hurt him; but it was the only way. She could feel his pain; but now he was guaranteed to be free, to get that kid healed, to get him better, to his family. She was all the Kaiser truly wanted; that was evident. Maybe she could cause Ken some pain; maybe force his hand into killing her. She may as well be dead at this rate. His footsteps were starting; he was coming closer. Jade lifted her head to stare him straight in the eye.
"It was a wise choice, Jade. Then we all get what we want; and everyone is happy."
"Maybe for everyone else..."
"Oh come now; you\'ll enjoy me sooner or later, you\'ll scream for me."
"Fat chance of that."
"Maybe I\'ll have to set some Garurumon on you to make you scream."
"Can\'t you think of anything more original to do with slavery?"
"I could be much more inventive; but evil such as yours deserves my best care." Jade thinned her eyes; what a sick view. All she could think of saying at this point was the very thing she would likely later regret.
"See you on the field, Ichijouji." She spoke, after bowing her head. Shame, she missed the horror-stricken look on Ken\'s face; SHE KNEW.
