Sacrifice For Love
Title: Sacrifice for Love
Author: Jigoku no Miko
Author’s Quote: You carry heaven and hell with you
Tenkou gathered a large ball of purple energy and threw it at Miaka who was sitting on the ground with Tamahome in her lap. Before the ball of energy could reach the two a small familiar girl with green hair appeared and kicked it into the blackened sky.
“Lai-Lai!” Miaka yelled surprised by the little girl.
“I knew you came with me but you had to make a grand entrance huh?” Taiitsukun questioned before Lai-Lai struck a pose and held up a peace sign.
“Yeah!” She giggled.
“Forget the peace sign and take care of these two! Mitsukake if you’d be so kind.” Taiitsukun ordered before Lai-lai turned into a pink bubble and surrounded Miaka and Tamahome while Mitsukake used his powers to try and heal Tamahome.
“Taiitsukun I have to fight him too!” Miaka whispered in a pleading tone.
“You have to wake Tamahome up.” Taiitsukun stated before Chiriko nodded in agreeance.
“That’s right we’ll take care of this guy.” Chiriko smiled.
“Whoah, Chiriko’s talking like a real warrior.” Tasuki declared as Chiriko smiled. Suddenly there was a bright flash of white light before Kana appeared and glared at Tenkou with threatening eyes as everyone looked at her confused. Subaru and Tokaki had appeared also but remained silent
“Kana?” Chichiri whispered looking at the girl, who was still surrounded by the white aura, wide-eyed.
“The Byakko no Miko too? How delightful.” Tenkou smirked at the newcomer before Tokaki and Subaru stepped in front of her defensively.
“Touch her and die.” Tokaki growled low in his throat.
“Well shall we go than?” Hotohori stepped forward and unsheathed his sword.
“Right.” Nuriko nodded.
“What will you do? Getting it won’t be as easy as you think.” Tenkou laughed, as the others looked at each other confused.
“Getting it…?” Tasuki echoed.
“The shiinzahou. They’re formed from an item which a priestess is wearing when she couples with the god beast. The ornament around his neck belonged to Yui the Seiryu no Miko. All he needs now is the ring Miaka is wearing but it will also be beneficial if he gets something of Kana’s now. Everything has gone according to his plan until now.” Taiitsukun explained as Tenkou nodded slightly to show she was right.
“You’ve certainly caused me quite a few setbacks. Now I’ll just have to annihilate you.” Tenkou yelled before his hair fanned out and the purple light that held his power glowed vibrantly.
*****
“In an instant the deed was begun. A battle to save both worlds, to save friends and to save those they loved.”
*****
“Suboshi. What’s wrong? Save lady Yui!” Amiboshi’s voice rang in Suboshi’s head.
“But if I break that barrier your body will be.” Suboshi gasped not wanting to hurt his brother.
“You know as well as I do. He’s just using Yui as a shield. Everyone’s afraid of hurting her. Save them… save them all!” Amiboshi whispered and Suboshi knew he was right.
“Arrigato anaki.” Suboshi whispered before holding out his hand, his ryuuseisui formed spinning above the tips of his fingers.
*****
“The two brothers made a vow swearing that they’d never be apart again. Into the ryuuseisui they poured their chi…” Keisuke whispered before Tetsuya sat next to him from where he had been in the kitchen.
*****
Throwing the ryuuseisui Suboshi took Yui from the barrier she had been trapped in and landed away from Tenkou, blood dripped down his back from where the weapon had gone right through him.
“Yui-sama! Yui-sama!” He yelled trying to wake her.
“Suboshi? Did you save me?” Yui questioned before noticing the tears in his eyes.
“Yes, I live only for your sake Yui-sama. I always will, I love you Yui-sama.” He whispered as his tears fell and landed on her face.
“Suboshi… what are you…? Why now?” She questioned as he just smiled.
“I love you.”
“Suboshi…? What’s wrong?” Suboshi collapsed into darkness next to her. “Suboshi? Suboshi! SUBOSHI!!” Yui yelled realizing the one who had loved her all along, the one had saved her and risked his life twice was gone forever.
“Tamahome.” Miaka whispered to the man in her arms afraid for his life.
“Hang on Tamahome! You’re the only on who can beat this thing!” Mitsukake yelled but it was pointless.
*****
“Mitsukake’s power could do nothing against the kodoku. The priestesses prayers could not reach him either…” Keisuke trailed off before handing the book to Tetsuya for him to read and standing to look out the window.
“Umm… the Genbu no Miko… it’s Takiko! And the Byakko no Miko… it’s both of them!” Tetsuya exclaimed as Keisuke hoped Kana was safe.
*****
‘You, you must summon it. I lacked the strength to win against the god beast. But now you will be able to do it.’ Takiko’s voice rang in Yui’s head as the same message went to Kana from Suzuno.
‘But if I summon the god beast you’ll…’ Yui delayed.
‘You understand don’t you? You’ll be able to seal Tenkou away as he is now.’ Takiko urged before Yui nodded.
“I won’t allow it!” Tenkou yelled before sending a ball of energy racing towards Yui but Tamahome interfered.
“It ends here!” Tamahome growled as the symbol on his forehead glowed vibrantly.
“Yui!” Kana yelled before Yui looked up at her, the look in Kana’s eyes was serious and the two knew what had to be done. Yui nodded in agreeance to the unspoken order.
*****
“The seven seishi and the miko were now all together. Tenkou’s attempts to prevent this had come to naught. The two miko’s cleared their minds and drawing upon the power of the two shinzaho’s offered up a prayer.” Tetsuya continued reading.
*****
“With the holy power, smash the evil that threatens us! Here our wishes to thee! Descend to us now from heaven!” Yui and Kana yelled at the same time as two different symbols one white one green appeared on the two girls foreheads.
*****
“Keisuke! They’ve summoned the four gods.” Tetsuya yelled to his friend.
“What’s their first wish?” Keisuke questioned before Tetsuya went back to the book.
“Right… Genbu, Byakko, Suzaku and Seiryu. The four guardians of the four corners of the earth now turned upon Tenkou.”
*****
“I will not give up… I swear I will not give up!” Tenkou yelled as the four gods banished him.
*****
“Their second wish…” Tetsuya started before Keisuke cut him off.
“Is to bring back the original Miko’s right?” he questioned.
“Bingo! Way to go you regular character.” Tetsuya laughed before Keisuke turned back to the window and gazed at the moon.
‘I just hope I’m wrong about the third wish.’ Keisuke thought to himself.
*****
“You mean we…?” Miaka whispered not believing what she had just been told.
“Yes, even if the book is sealed you two cannot live in the same world. You were told it was impossible Tamahome. So as long as you have your memories of you’re past life you cannot live in Miaka’s world. That is the destiny of the Miko and her seishi.” Taiitsukun stated as Tamahome and Miaka looked at each other not knowing what to say or do.
“None of the four gods can grant this wish huh?” Nuriko whispered solemnly.
“I don’t care, why should they care what happens to the two worlds?! What’s wrong with them living together if they love each other?!” Tasuki yelled fed up with the fact that the gods were there and meant to grant wishes but the one wish needed most to come true was the one that was destined to fail.
“Taiitsukun, please tell me. Tell me what I should do. I’ll do anything to not be separated from Tamahome.” Miaka whispered walking right into Taiitsukun’s arms.
“Miaka…” Taiitsukun whispered not knowing what to say to the girl.
“I’ll do whatever it takes! I can handle it! No matter what it is… so please… please tell me! You said everything was a matter of people’s feelings! You said the human heart is what makes miracles happens! I don’t want to just give up here! Is that the “mature” thing to do? Just say” It can’t be helped”?! If being mature means having to give up then… Then I don’t want to be an adult! I don’t want to be one. What’s the point of our meeting?! What was the pint of the adventure…? Of any of it…? No. No! NO!!!” Miaka yelled into the night sky from where she now sat in front of Taiitsukun on her knees.
*****
The miko and seishi said nothing and heard nothing.” Tetsuya whispered with a shake of his head.
*****
“Kana?” Chichiri whispered walking up next to the girl who had sat down on a rock.
“Oh, hi.” She whispered when she saw who it was. “H-How have you been?” She questioned, the last time she saw him she kissed him and then left.
“Okay, you?” He sat down next to her.
“Okay.” An awkward silence fell. “I still have that feather.” She tucked her hair behind her left ear to reveal the feather made into an earring.
“I’m glad.” He whispered before Subaru came over to her.
“Oh, hi.” Kana looked up at the woman a little uneasily before she handed Kana a box. Tokaki came and stood next to her.
“It’s something she wanted you to have but don’t open it until you get home okay?” Tokaki whispered before Kana nodded her head.
“Goodbye Byakko no Miko.” Tokaki whispered before the two disappeared.
“That’s right I forgot you’re a priestess now.” Chichiri whispered standing up.
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Kana questioned tucking the box in her hoody’s pocket and joining Chichiri on her feet.
“Nothing, forget about it.” He shook his head and began to walk away but she grabbed his bicep.
“I’m not gonna forget about it what did you mean?” He kept his back to her and sighed.
“You’re a priestess and I’m a seishi and I’m…” He shook his head.
“And you’re what?” Kana walked around him so she look at his face and not the back of his head.
“I’m… tired.” He covered up what he really meant to say.
“You must really be tired your rambling.” She laughed lightly and he smiled.
“Kana can I ask you something?”
“What is it?”
“Before you left, why did you kiss me?” Kana gasped out of shock, she wasn’t expecting that.
“I… I… because I cared about you.” She finally spat out.
“Cared?” He echoed. ‘So she doesn’t care anymore?’
“Care, but I can’t stay here I belong there.” He nodded before letting out a sigh he had no idea he had been holding in.
“Than this will be the last time I ever see you again won’t it?”
“Yeah.”
“Than can I kiss you?” He leaned down and whispered it in her ear before she backed away.
“No.” She shook her head and kept her gaze to the ground. “I’m sorry Chichiri, I’m so sorry… goodbye.” She turned and ran to where Yui and Miaka had been waiting for her. Standing on the other side of Yui Kana took her hand and nodded for her to say the last wish.
“Kaijin! Let “The Universe of the Four Gods” be sealed forever and the two worlds separated completely!” Yui yelled as Miaka watched Tamahome longingly.
“TAMAHOME!” Miaka yelled before the three disappeared. Drifting through the space that divided the two worlds, Yui held out her hand palm side up as Tamahome’s ring sat on it before dropping it into the void.
“Now go… go to where you must be.” She whispered as Miaka watched it disappear. Kana who was right behind them also watched the ring go along with a tear.
*****
Keisuke went and pulled some food out of the fridge before beginning to prepare something.
“What are you doing?” Tetsuya questioned.
“Miaka’s coming home now right? I have a feeling she’ll be really hungry. I think you better head over to Yui’s place.” Keisuke whispered before Tetsuya nodded.
“I guess you’re right. Maybe I should stop home and take a shower first though, gotta change my underwear too.” Tetsuya stated to himself.
“What are you implying?” Keisuke questioned eyeing his friend suspiciously.
“Did I say something?”
“Get real!!” The two laughed at the joke before Tetsuya left for Yui’s apartment.
*****
“Jewels of memory?” Tamahome questioned once Taiitsukun explained everything to the seven.
“It’s the only way you can reborn in Miaka’s world.”
“Well that settles it.” Tasuki exclaimed.
“There’s no reason to hesitate.” Hotohori whispered.
“Are you sure he’ll be reborn in her world?” Nuriko questioned.
“That I don’t know.” Taiitsukun shook her head.
“Huh? You aren’t sure about that?”
“You two-bit magician!” Tasuki yelled.
“Even if you are reborn in her time without your memories you still may not be able to look for Miaka.”
“No fair!” Nuriko whined.
“I’m sure it’ll work out no da!”
“I agree.” Mitsukake nodded.
“That’s right I’m sure you’ll end up with Miaka.” Chiriko smiled, he was still so young.
“What will you do Tamahome? You can still back out if you want.” Hotohori stated before Tamahome looked up at them with a calm smile on his face.
“Since the day I was born I’ve lived only for her sake.” He whispered before the seven multi colored jewels containing the pieces of his past departed and spread themselves through out the world and Sou Kishuku, Tamahome of the Suzaku seishi was reborn into the land of the rising sun now Taka Sukunami.
