  • The magnet train is one of the biggest attractions of Saffron City, with a non-stop connection between the two major cities of the twin regions. Moving at incredible speeds, a week’s travel over the Silver Mountain Range is shortened to a couple of hours. While it is not truly needed, the interior is designed to make the trip as comfortable as possible. Recently, a second line has been created for intrepid trainers and coordinators to host high-speed competitions. However, today’s line is purely for transportation. The wind trainer sat down against the window and watched the tree line. “This is nice, Aria.”

    Aria sighed.

Avery sat back with a drink in hand. “So, we’re going to that place.”

The Mew scoffed before cringing at a pulse. A white light erupted from the small kitten as she gained size to her full human form. “Wow! That was a rush!”

“Congratualtions…” The militant trainer applauded. “Your MEW evolved to ARIA.”

“Aria?” The wind trainer pointed. “Maybe you should put on something other than fur.”
The Mew blushed as she quickly formed a pair of dress pants and a turtleneck. “Good thing nobody’s here aside from us.”

“By the way, Avery…” Winona turned, “We haven’t seen you for the past week, where have you been?”

“Simple…” He brushed. “I’m not much for gatherings. Apparently saves me from bothering with explosions.”

“Reminds me.” Aria piped, “Could you sock Lance for me?”

“You have to ask?” He laughed. “Anyways, I wanted to get some training in. I already managed to get a Horsea evolved to a Seadra.”

“That’s the gym’s dragon specialist for you.” Aria smiled.

“That reminds me!” Winona called. “I still have your Dragonair, Aria!”

“Great.” She nodded, receiving the ball. “I’ll have to give her some fresh air when we get into Goldenrod.”

//We will be arriving in Goldenrod City.// The PA system announced. //Please remain seated. If there are any questions to the suggestion, please refer to the copy of “Fundamental Physics” under your seat.//

Upon landing, the trio took in the sights of the metropolis of Goldenrod. The tall buildings, the monolithic radio tower, the… “I’m bored again…” Aria sighed.

“It is called the ‘Normal City’ for a reason…” Avery prodded. “I wonder how good the underground is.”

“We’ll wait until nightfall for that.” Aria crossed. “We can take a break in the park while I find where I wanted to go.”

The tour of the city began with a brief scan of the underground, mostly as a shortcut to the central park. The park, a famous sight of the western region, is known as the greenest part of the world. The Mew was narrating. “There are bug-catching contests every week, and aside from that it’s a nice place to relax. We’ll be breaking for lunch here.”

Aria’s Dragonair drifted softly in the breeze while the three began their meal. “So, how’s that food working?”

“I got back to normal after a day of eating this stuff.” She brushed, popping another piece of the Pokechow. “It still feels like I could stand to bulk up, though.” Looking over, she flagged down her dragon. “Okay, time for lunch!”

The dragon majestically landed as it began to eat its share. As its food was cut off, it looked its master in the eyes. ((How about some more food.)) It spoke in its own tongue.

Aria, shocked at the conversation, returned to what her Pokemon said. “And why should I comply? You’ll get fat.”

((I don’t want a fucking level one telling me what to do.))

“Avery? Do you still have that Pokedex you won? I need a scan.”

“Fine.” He sighed, reaching for the red device in his pocket. “It says… Mew- New Species Pokemon… Level two.”

“Hah, I’m twice as powerful as you thought.” She called, sticking her tongue at the dragon.

((I was born with a power level of five. I can still take you.))

“Is that a challenge?” She leered.

    ((Pussy.))

“Winny…” Aria cried. “My Dragonair is making fun of me…”

An elderly man wearing a white coat walked up from behind the group. “That’s no way to treat a goddess, Dragonair.” He called. “And human or not, she’s your master.”

Winona turned her head. “Who are you, and how do you know all of this?”

“Oh, pardon my manners…” The elder smiled. “I am Doctor Hasaki, their grandfather.”

“Grampy…” Aria sobbed. “Why is my Pokemon being so mean?”

The doctor took a second to think. “Dragons are very proud Pokemon. The trainer has to be very strong to train them, or they will go on their own will. You were fortunate to borrow Avery’s strength in the past, but as a low-level Pokemon, you’re frankly unqualified.”

((Not that anyone here is strong enough to control the power of the most noble dragon.)) It huffed.

The elder smirked. “Back when I was a trainer, I could use whips. They call it a grandfather clause for a reason.”

Avery stepped up. “I’ll be the good cop today…” He announced. “You step down and come under my leadership, and you don’t have to deal with the Sneasel-loving psycho.” Without another word, the creature retreated into the ball, which was immediately handed to the owner’s brother. “I’ll take good care of her.”

The elder glanced around the area. “It will get noisy soon… Let’s retreat to my office, where we can carry our conversation.”

The office was in a small hospital on the outskirts of town. Inside the building, a herd of Chansey was bustling about on their daily business, and a single Sneasel was seen poking around with a clipboard in paw. The elderly man pointed the sea of pink off on their duty while the trio was guided to the main office. There, another Chansey provided them with tea. “So, Aria…” The elder turned. “I heard there was some commotion during the festival.”

“News travels fast, I guess.” She shrugged.

“What’s more amazing is that I get a report on my desk from one of my Pokemon Researcher colleges that mentions you fixing everyone involved in a massive explosion.”
Aria rolled her eyes. “I keep on hearing this… Tell me this story again, Grandpa.” She leaned forward in her chair. “I’ve been chastised to praised for this. There is nothing that you could do or say to surprise me.”

In a quick motion, the doctor rolled up a nearby newspaper and whapped her over the head. “Did you expect that?”

Rubbing the area of impact, the psychic turned to the old man. “So, was that because you’re mad or because nobody’s done that yet?”

“That’s for you to find out.” He laughed. “But I would like to do some examination on your friend to learn about what you did.” He turned his head. “Avery, piss off.”

“Yes, sir!” The militant trainer sounded as he disappeared.
“Good kid…” The doctor smirked as he turned to his granddaughter. “Aria, wash up. We’ll be going through a minor examination.” Putting on a pair of gloves, he covered the windows and turned to the leader. “Miss, if you would be so kind to remove your clothing. I need to see first-hand how Aria fixed that much damage.”

“O…kay…” She glanced as she unzipped her skirt.

    “Don’t worry, I’m a doctor.”

“Worry, he’s a perverted doctor.” Aria crossed, now dressed in a nurse outfit.

“Is this how you treat the man who raised you?” The elder glared.

“Yeah, bang up job with the Raticate.”

“Okay, so I slipped up once and you were eaten to death.” The doctor brushed. “And I’m not a pervert!”

“So says you.” She glanced. “You can stop with that, Winny. We can see all the spots I attached stuff.”

Winona laid on the table in her undergarments as the two loomed over. “So, what are you two going to do?”

Aria brushed against her skin. “This is where the tear was from the explosion. You can tell from the slight miss-match of color.”

The elder followed suit as Winona started to blush from the attention. “This was two days ago, right? Then it must be a difference in melanin levels. A rush job, but nothing serious.” He looked up to the trainer’s face. “Miss, I’m going to gather a few skin samples for a test. There has been question how long a complete body transfer by my granddaughter’s methods would last.”

    “Okay…”

After collecting the samples, the doctor looked to Aria. “I’ll be working in the lab tonight. Why don’t you show your friend your old room?”

    “I’ll do that.” She nodded.

Padding up the stairs, the gym leader aired her curiosities. “So, your grandfather does research often?”

“This hospital is really an excuse for him to get more money out of the government.” Aria explained. “There’s a pretty good underground facility where he does his actual work.”

“So is your family always cloak and dagger?”

Aria sighed as she turned into her old room. “Just a little. Aside from my parents, most of us are politicians and doctors. Everything’s on a need-to-know basis.”

“I’m glad that we came here.” The wind trainer announced as she plopped herself on the bed, “I’ve learned a lot about you.”

The Mew lowered herself onto the bed with a yawn. “But evolving like that took a lot of energy.”

“Should we take a nap?” She smiled.

    “You’re taking one, too?”

“Well, the ride did tire me out a little…” She turned. “And, I still need to reward you for saving everyone.”

Aria blushed. “You… You don’t have to do that. I just did what came naturally.”

Winona’s smile widened. “I insist on rewarding you. Just so you know how I appreciate your sacrifice.” She took a moment to look out of the window. “I wanted to before, but you couldn’t transform back, and now there’s the chance that your effort would be wasted…”

“I won’t let you die, Winny.” Aria shot. “You’re the person I love more than anything else in the world. And I am your Pokemon as well. I will do anything to make sure that we can stay together. Even if I can’t control any Pokemon myself.”

“Well, let’s worry about that later.” The trainer glanced. “But for now, we’re taking a nap.”

Aria’s eyes widened as her mistress turned away and the cloth of her shirt skidded off her back. She then struggled for words as the skirt hit the floor. “Winny, what are you doing?”

The wind trainer smiled as she turned around. “It wouldn’t be good if my clothing got messed up before we get back to Fortree. So I’m taking them off to sleep.”

Aria’s face flushed as she looked upon her master. “R-right! That makes perfect sense!”

Winona started to laugh. “You’re so fun to tease, Aria.”

    The Mew looked away, “Meanie.”

“I’m just having some fun…” She smiled. “But I’ll be good if it’s a problem.” She invited herself and lifted the covers. “So, are you going to join me?”

Aria slowly slipped into the softness of her old bed and curled up with her owner. With a warm breeze filling the room, she slipped into a peaceful slumber.
