Chapter 15- aftermath and broken trust

When we got home everybody was there except for our parents who is on a business trip, amiboshi and suboshi, relieved me of holding yui when we stepped inside the house and she smiled weakly despite everything. Yui sat on the living room, and told rika and the others what happened. I saw tamahome went outside in the garden and followed him.

“hey” I said handing him a can of beer. He took it and took a swig. “its my fault nakago, I’m sorry,” I didn’t reply because part of me knows that its true, he was partly at fault, a problem because of his love for my wife, I wanted to punch him right now but what’s the point I can’t make his feelings for her disappear, and I know my wife would never betray me, I trust her.

“miaka is right nakago, I still love yui, it actually hurts me to see you two together all the time and happy, I really hate you, you know and yet I can’t because I love yui, and I want her to be happy even if it’s not with me,” i took a deep breath and I looked at him

“you know even if I did know about you and yui before, I don’t think I would have done something to prevent our wedding from happening, I love her too so much tama, so I’m sorry from taking her away from you” tama laughed bitterly.

“you know if only I listened to her and told miaka everything, this wouldn’t ever have happened.” He said through a bitter smile, “don’t blame yourself tama, its my fault as well, we both agreed not to tell her, I thought it won’t matter anyway,” we turned around and saw yui walking to us, “I just didn’t think it’ll affect her this way, but now that this happened, what do you want to do with her now? I still care about her tama.” Wow, I thought, after miaka betrayed her she still cares about her, I really married a mature and intelligent and compassionate and a very beautiful woman, I guess I can’t help the likes of tama and hotohori from falling from her and I’m lucky that our parents had set us up and she accepted.

“I’m not getting back with her yui, I love you, always have always will.” Tama stated, we were taken aback, yui looked at me nervously as though afraid I might hit tama, but I gave her a reassuring gaze, that I understand. She sighed

“tama what we had, I’ll always cherish, I will never forget, you were my first love, and I don’t want you out of my life, I will always love you too, but I’m in love with my husband, and I would never want to hurt him, so I’m sorry I can never love you the same again.” My heart fluttered at her words, tama looked at her in understanding and cupped her cheeks, I shifted uncomfortably, I still don’t want anyone touching my wife like that, but I remained still.

“its fine yui hongo, I understand, I would never take you away from him, I know you won’t be last a day without him and you would be broken, and I don’t want to see that, I love you that much, don’t worry, I just wanted to let you know, now I felt lighter.” Yui smiled at him and he kissed her cheeks. My lips thinned. “Thanks tama” she said as he let go of her face. I snatched yui’s hand away forcefully. Hey I ‘m still jealous, she is still my wife. Yui and tama both laughed. And seeing how silly that was I chuckled too.

“I’m glad you could all still laugh. I see that I did the right thing now.” An angry voice said, it was miaka, our eyes widened, “how did you get in here?” tama asked harshly. Looking away from her, but before she can answer an angry rika screamed, “WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE YOU UNGRATEFUL BITCH, HOW DARE YOU SHOW YOUR FACE HERE AFTER YOU BETRAYED YUI AND SAID THOSE WORDS TO HER.” rika was being restrained by her husband who seem to be struggling at keeping her still. Mina and izumi are struggling to hold an enraged amiboshi and suboshi,

“GET THE FUCK OFF THIS HOUSE BEFORE I FORGET THAT YOU ARE A GIRL AND MY SISTER’S FORMER FRIEND” it was amiboshi who shouted rage in his usual calm voice, I’ve never seen him this mad before, hell I’ve never seen him mad at all. Mina was clutching his shaking hands tightly.

“huh who cares what you all think, all you care about is precious yui, I came here to bring this stuff that she gave me, I don’t want it anymore.” She said almost in tears and threw the box in yui’s feet.

“what happened miaka? Why didn’t you just tell me before, I could have fixed it, I’m sorry that it has come to this, but I can never trust you again, I love you like a sister, have a nice life.” Yui said hot tears flowing from her eyes as she turned bback to the house. “But I don’t want those back its yours I gave them to you, I hope we can forgive each other someday, goodbye” she disappeared inside, rika, roughly followed yui with mina and izumi.

“why don’t you follow your precious yui inside,” she shaid to tamahome, “oh right she has a husband, I’m surprised that you can act cool nakago, when your friend is lusting about your slutty wife.”

“don’t you dare call my wife that” I snarled. “I know everything miaka, and unlike you I understand yui and tama, you should have just talked to her than do what you did, you were there when tetsuya did that you should have known better.” Her eyes widened, “I’m sorry but I don’t want you to step inside this house again and I do not allow you to talk to my wife anymore.” She glanced at tama and walked away through the back gate. “It’s not the end, you better watch your precious yui carefully” she smirked as she walked away.

We all walked back inside anger and fear etched on our faces, at what she said. “aniki what do we do?” amiboshi asked me, I raked my hands in my hair. “I don’t know, but whatever they are planning lets be ready, since the whole school knows who yui is and that she is my wife, I can protect her better, tomo and tasuki can watch her duting gym, and tama can watch over her during home ec. And lab, the rest I have classes with her, so.” I said,

“how can miaka do that” tomo exclaimed “man, so what do you do now tama? About miaka I mean,” tama shrugged, “she hurt yui, I don’t know if I can ever forgive her,” he said icily.

“kosuke come up here” rika shouted at her husband from the stair banister, “its yui she’s fainted.” I stood up abruptly and raced up the stairs to our bedroom, yui was lying there in our bed cradled by mina, and she stood up and let me take her place. I held yui’s hand and was patting her face gently. Damn you miaka, soi and tetsuya, if I ever see you guys again, I curse inwardly.

Tamamo came in with his doctor’s bag that he always carries with him in the car, in case something like this happens. “Everybody please get out, even you nakago” I protested but rika pulled me up and I grudgingly obliged, she closed the door and we all waited outside the hall. After 30 minutes of pacing, I was about to knock again, but rika opened the door and I brushed past her, yui was awake and I immediately sat beside her holding her hands. I looked up at tamamo who is zipping his bag and was smiling.

“well what happened? How is she?” I asked worriedly. And rika and tamamo’s smiles were annoying me, they looked at each other and tamamo nodded, everybody held their breaths. “you’re pregnant yui,” rika said happily, everyone let out a breath, yui and I looked at each other nervously and then we both smiled and laughed, and then I kissed her passionately, not even caring that everybody was there, “I love you mommy” I said lovingly. “I love you too daddy” she replied. Then everyone came over the bed and congratulated her, I didn’t leave her side. And was grinning like an idiot,

“all right everyone we should leave now and not stress yui out, she needs rest especially in her condition,” rika said, everybody said their goodbye’s and left since I didn’t want to leave yui’s side the twins showed everyone out. When they left they returned back to our room,

“hey I’m gonna be an uncle” suboshi grinned while touching yui’s tummy. “yeah me too” amiboshi said. “Onee-san what do you want for dinner?” yui shrugged, “I don’t know, I don’t think I have cravings yet, so anything will do.” They nodded and left to make dinner.

“are you ok?” I asked “no not really, but I will be for our baby I won’t let this thing affect our baby” I kissed her on the forehead. “so does that mean we won’t have sex for nine months?” I joked yui hit my chest. “Sweetie you we can have sex until I’m 8 months pregnant.” I chuckled. “should we start now?” yui laughed. “baka” suddenly everything seems light and no threat is upon us, all that is important now is yui and our unborn child, and I won’t let anything happen to them, I would kill for them.
