The Confession

Chapter 15: The Confession

It was perfect timing when the recording was finished tonight, Shuichi thought. The song he just wrote was completely done when they started putting the accompaniment with it.

As usual, Fujisaki-san did great with the synthesizer. He was also able to give out a good beat.
Shuichi got a compliment from him when he mentioned that the song Shuichi wrote was by far the best he’d heard. So, to make it sound better, good music was added up to it—and Hiro and Fujisaki were the ones responsible for that.

But of course, what would that be without the vocalist? Shuichi took the honor of being the one who composed it and the one who gave out the fantastic melody.

Purely original and very captivating.

Things couldn’t be more wonderful than it already was. He was able to reconcile with his former lover, and now life seemed to be at its place again. He was in good terms with everyone, and he couldn’t ask for anything more.

Shuichi was on his way home when suddenly, a speeding black limousine was heading towards his direction, abruptly stopping in front of him which startled him all the more.
The headlights sent a shiver down his spine when it loomed distractingly on his face. He had to use his hand to cover the bright yellow lights.

“What the—”

“Shuichi!”

Shuichi blinked a few times and saw Serena Tokigawa getting out of the car. She was clad in a black fitting blazer, a white polo and some black slacks, “I came over as soon as your friends informed me that you’ve returned.”
She spoke so restlessly that she reminded Shuichi of a mother who just found her son after so many years,

“I’m okay, Serena.” Shuichi said, “no need to fuss—”
Shuichi’s words were cut off when Serena embraced him, pulling him towards her soft bosom.

“I was so worried! Your sis—I-I mean, the girls and I were so worried! We thought you were kidnapped.” Serena exclaimed, trying to smile a bit.

“You’re exaggerating.”

“Of course not, we haven’t heard a word from you, what’d you expect?” Serena asked.
“Come,” she said, “you must be hungry, let’s have a meal at a restaurant, o-or at a bar.” She invited.

“No, wait—um, I mean, no thanks… I-I already ate with the guys—back at the studio…I’m quite full actually—”

“Then let’s have a drink!”

“N-no! I-I can’t…um, Sakano-san just told us a while ago that we should be early at the studio starting tomorrow on.”

Shuichi was trying to talk out of his situation desperately. It’s just that, Shuichi wasn’t sure if he should tell the truth about his reconciliation with Yuki Eiri to Serena Tokigawa. He knew that Serena was one of the few people who despised Yuki Eiri.

As a matter of fact, he couldn’t really understand why she hated him so much. This reason was making him a little resentful. Perhaps Serena Tokigawa just really treasures their friendship that she didn’t like it when Shuichi got dumped by Yuki Eiri.

“Don’t be silly,” Serena started, “I’m sure you’re big enough to get yourself early even with just a few drinks.”

“No, really…I can’t…b-besides, I have to go home now…I haven’t really seen my family lately,” he lied, “and—”

“That’s another thing.” Serena said, looking all-serious, “where have you been for the past three nights, Shuichi?”

‘Here we go again’…Shuichi mumbled in his thoughts exasperatingly.

“Serena, no offense, but, this is really none of your business…” Shuichi said softly and started turning around to walk away.

“Wait!” Seren called out and caught up with Shuichi, “I-I’m sorry, I guess I was carried away… look,” she said, “I treat you….I treat you like a true brother…that’s why I was so worried about you… I just want to know what happened.” Serena persisted, her emerald eyes penetrating Shuichi.

Shuichi bit his lips and took a deep breath,

“Are you sure you wanna know?” Shuichi asked, with a suspicious grin on his face.
Serena was startled by this, but it made her smile anyhow,

“Yes, of course.”

Shuichi closed his eyes and blurted out in a fast paste,
“YukiEiriandIjustgotbacktogether, isn’t that great?” Shuichi said, giggling hopelessly with his eyes glimmering with profound happiness.

It took a few minutes before the words registered perfectly in Serena Tokigawa’s mind.

“I’m sorry, I think you said that too fast, w-what did you say again?” she asked, her heart racing, anticipating for a correction she dreaded to come true.

“I said I just got back with Yuki Eiri, aren’t you happy for me?” Shuichi exclaimed, jumping on his feet and suddenly embracing Serena tightly.

Serena was motionless. Her eyes weren’t blinking. This is untrue.

‘I thought…but…it’s impossible…’

Serena felt the whole world just gone down on her. She was still being embraced by the young boy in front of her, and she slowly peeled away his arms from her neck.

“Since when?”

“Huh? What do you mean?” Shuichi asked, looking puzzled.

“Since when did you got back?”

“Duh, since NITTLE GRASPER’s concert. We bumped into each other while I was trying to reach you over my phone, remember?—Oh, and sorry bout that, I got tired trying to reach you, it was terribly noisy back then… so, now you know, what do you think?”

Serena closed her eyes and felt that her entire system was starting to shatter.

‘What do I think? What do I think?!’

The next thing that happened was something Shuichi would have never expected in his whole life.

Serena Tokigawa slapped him forcefully across his face.

“Serena! What is wrong with you?!” Shuichi blurted out, feeling undeniably confused.

“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you!” Serena fired back hysterically, “why did you get back with that bastard?!”

“Are you seriously out of your mind?!”

“Why did you do it?! Why?!”
Shuichi looked at Serena Tokigawa. Her face had gone white and she was breathing heavily.

“I thought you were my friend…why are you acting this way?” Shuichi asked, his eyes starting to water, “a-aren’t you supposed to support me?”

Serena raked her fingers through her ebony hair and held her stomach for support.

Three humongous foreign men, no doubt Serena’s bodyguards, from inside the limousine suddenly came out to see the commotion,

“Get back inside, now!” Serena roared in French, pointing at her bodyguards.

Shuichi was starting to be afraid. What was happening? Something’s wrong!
Serena turned her attention back to Shuichi, and this time, her once gentle emerald eyes were suddenly filled with fury.

“Do you have any idea how much trouble you’re causing?” Serena asked, “do you? Do you?!—”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about!” Shuichi cried out, “what is going on?” he demanded.

Serena understood his confusion.

It was time to tell him the truth.

Serena felt a lump in her throat and swallowed it down. She was beginning to feel sick, and to think she had rehearsed what she was supposed to say to her younger sister many, many years ago, anticipating this moment.

Only, she never thought it would be this way.

“You came from an orphanage which doesn’t know where you came from or who you came from. You were found lying on the street, unconscious, and you were brought into a hospital. Your parents adopted you when you were eight years old—”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about—”

“When you wanted to find out where you came from, you went back to the orphanage that had first adopted you. You came back there because you couldn’t remember anything. Your foster parents explained to you that you have amnesia. Anyway, the nuns from the orphanage gave you back the bag you were carrying when you were found by the stranger who left you at the hospital, whom they suspect the same man who hit you with his car, and left you there in the hospital out of guilt—”
“Why are you telling me this?!” Shuichi asked with a terrible ache in his chest.

Why was she talking this way? How…how did she know? How come everything she’s saying was so accurate?

“They gave you the bag you were carrying that night—”

“I don’t want to hear any of this!—”

“And it contained drawings—drawings of a family—”

“Y-Your not m-making sense—”

“You had a separate drawing of a girl with pink hair and she was labeled with the name ‘Sakura Tokigawa’ and ‘six years old’,” Serena said, speaking louder and louder, as if trying to make Shuichi remember something,

“On a different sheet of paper, you drew a family with six girls and two fa-faces.” she stuttered, braking off in the middle of her sentence, and tears suddenly pouring down her pale cheeks,

“One face was of an old man with a broad mustache, the other, a face of a beautiful woman with pearls—” she broke off again, and held a hand over her mouth, “a woman who looks just like you.”

He was speechless. Shuichi’s own tears were starting to fall down.

“She’s your mother Shuichi…and you were the little girl,” she paused, taking a deep breath, “with pink hair and the name Sakura Tokigawa. Sakura Tokigawa. Do you understand me?” Serena asked, “I can remember the drawing you showed us that morning…every single detail,” she said hoarsely, “like it all just happened a while ago… I can even picture us right here, right now—”

“Y-You’re out of your m-mind—”

“And those other six girls,” Serena cut him off, totally ignoring his protests and outbursts,

“… that was us…” Serena said softly.

She couldn’t seem to find the right words to say, but she continued anyway,

“Six girls, namely, Serena, Tokia—”

“S-Stop—”

“Bianca, and the twins: Marlotte and Monette—”

“Sh-shut up—”
“You are our youngest!” she exclaimed exasperatingly, as if releasing all the pent up anger and sadness inside of her right now.

“…Shuichi…don’t you remember us?”

Then like lightning, the buried memories of his past started to come back.

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

“Everybody! Everybody! Look what I just draw!” there he was again. Inside the little girl’s body.

She proudly showed off the drawing she made in front of a group of ladies and began to run towards a couple sitting across them,

“Mommy, this is you—I drew your necklace! Isn’t it pretty?”

“Why, of course, darling.” a beautiful soft-spoken woman replied.

“And daddy, this is you!” The little girl pointed out on her drawing paper, “did I copy your mustache right? Does it look like you?” she asked excitedly.

“Good God!” the old man exclaimed, “who’s that handsome fella?!” he teased.
The little girl giggled all over and ran towards a group of girls sitting next to her parents,

“Guys, guys!” the little girl called out, running to the pretty ladies across the huge picnic blanket,

“Sakura,” the tallest among the ladies spoke, “watch yourself. No need to run so fast. A lady is always refine and dainty.”

Sakura, the little girl, stuck out her lower lip and swayed her body in front of the lady,

“Does that mean I’m not a lady?” Sakura asked worriedly.

“Of course you are!” one of the ladies spoke, a brunette with short hair, said and pulled her on her lap. She started tickling her and the other ladies seemed to have gathered around them, tickling Sakura as well.

“You’re our little lady.” Said the other pink hair as well,

The twins nodded in affirmation.

Sakura turned her gaze towards the tallest lady. She was looking gently at her with her back against the massive oak tree behind her.
Sakura slowly sat up on the brunette’s lap and stared back at the tallest,

“Do you think I’m a lady?” Sakura asked, getting up from the brunette’s lap.
Sakura waited with anticipation for the tallest lady’s reply.

The tallest lady’s emerald eyes glowed with such delight and love for the little cherub standing before her, asking her if she was a lady.

“No.”

The little girl gasped and she seemed close to crying.

“I think you’re an angel.”

The tallest said and looked at Sakura proudly.
Sakura cheered in joy and relief and gave the tall woman with the emerald eyes a tight hug.

‘Serena Tokigawa,” Sakura started while embracing the tall woman’s neck, “you’re the bestest biggest sister a littlest sister could ever have.” Sakura announced with that tiny cute voice of hers.

“You think so?”

“Mm-hmm.”

“And how about us?” two girls from behind asked annoyingly with their arms folded across their chest. Sakura turned around and found out that the complaint came from the twins.

Sakura Tokigawa looked at the rest of the four ladies sitting before her,

“You guys are the bestest sisters I could ever have!” Sakura boomed and jumped excitedly.

The twins pulled little Sakura to their side and started tickling her endlessly.
Mr. and Mrs. Tokigawa looked at their beautiful gorgeous daughters, playing and laughing under the bright sun with pride and unconditional love.

“Serena!” Sakura called out, laughing hopelessly from the dreadful tickling she was receiving from her four sisters, “help me! This is so unfair! Four against one—” Sakura complained and was suddenly cut off with another tickle.

Serena stood up from where she was sitting and swooped Sakura up in her hands, holding her high in the air.

“C’mon, Serena, put her down!” The twins said, “we’re still torturing her!”

Serena looked at those bright violet orbs, shining with youth and joy,

“What you say we take them all on?” Serena asked invitingly,

“Yeah!” Sakura cheered, raising a chubby fist in the air.

“You and I…even just the two of us.”

“Just the two of us!”

“Me…and my little angel…”

My little angel…

oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

Like a lost child, Shuichi fell on his knees and stared upon the ground.

“I…don’t believe it…” he cried out softly, “…how…how?! I…I don’t understand!” he bellowed, slowly standing up from his knees,

“I’m a man!” he pointed out, “if what you say is true, then I should be a woman now, not a man—which is what I am!” he reasoned.

But it seems that Shuichi’s own words doubted him. What he remembered just now, he knew it happened. That little girl. That Sakura Tokigawa.

It was really he.

Or rather, her.

“Please believe me, Shuichi.” Serena said, recovering a bit from her own anguish and pain “you are supposedly a woman right now—”

“What the hell do you mean by supposedly?!”

“You…I…” Serena closed her eyes and placed her hands on her hips, “our father lead a hidden operative medical organization, researching in advance genetic and internal body systems. It was an organization that dedicated itself to the research of human alterations, such as transplantation,” she explained, “the Tokigawa medical organization is the first ever to succeed in altering the male specie into a complete female specie. Provided with the respective organs, working naturally and perfectly. Our father was able to invent a way on how to make a man into a woman, and vice versa. He did this because he knew that the people deserve to have a choice. He believed in freewill and he was a man of excellence. He dedicated his whole life in this research and he achieved his goal.” She said, remembering the greatness of their late father…unfortunately, there were others who were interested in father’s research,” she said, “Japan’s military wanted to have the whole system. They wanted to figure out how he did it. Because they wanted to use it for a different purpose—a dangerous one.”

Serena stopped from explaining. He was now looking at a shaking Shuichi.

Shuichi on the other hand couldn’t really believe what Serena was saying.

But deep inside, he knew he was starting to believe.

“Our father was and is a very honorable man. And he won’t let anyone use his innovation for any destruction. He didn’t want the military to have this…that’s why…” she said, suddenly breaking off, “that’s why…”

“That’s why what?” Shuichi asked softly, hot tears still flowing down from his eyes.

And then out of the blue, fragments of his past started coming back again.

ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

“This way!” a huge man shouted as he burst inside the room where he led the frightened sisters.

Several gunshots rang into the air. Some were from afar, and some were quite near. Every one kept down and silent, but the fact that the mansion was under invasion was too much to accept,

“June,” Serena started, ”mother and father—where are they?” she asked worriedly.
Tokia and the others were scared to death. The twins embraced each other and Sakura kept close to Serena,

The tall man, called June, was hesitating to answer his employer’s question, but nevertheless, he replied,

“Your father was caught—but your mother is hiding.” He explained.

“What are they doing to father? Will he be alright?”

“I…I really don’t know how to answer your question, Madame. I myself am not sure as to what they are doing to Mr. Mushimoto.”

Serena covered her mouth in despair. She turned her head up and said,

“My mother, where is she?! Is she okay? I want to see her!” Serena asked frantically.

“Madame, I cannot allow you to get out of this room and simply be caught.” June reasoned, looking outside the window every now and then.

“The hell do I care with what you want! I want to see my mother!—”

“You can’t do that! Besides, I have a direct order from your parents to not to let you come any closer to the military.”

“Bullshit! I’m their daughter, I have the right to see them!—”

“In exchange for your life?” he cut her in, “I don’t think so, Madame.”

Serena Tokigawa looked at June fiercely. She peeled of the small arms embracing her waist and leaned down to Sakura,

“I’ll be back, my little angel.” She promised and handed her over to Tokia.

“Sister, what are you doing?” Tokia asked frantically, embracing the child being handed to her.

“Madame!” June warned from behind, “there is no way I will let you out of this room!”
Serena stood up from her crouching position. She then took a gun hidden in her coat and faced June, pointing the gun directly to his head.

“If you don’t step away, I swear to God I’ll shoot you.” Serena threatened. She held up her gun without hesitation. She was still, like a pro holding his gun. Her hand wasn’t even shaking.

“Madame, I—”

Suddenly, a shot rang into the air and it hit June on the knee. Serena’s sisters gave out a short scream and every one thought she was loosing her mind.

“Sister!” Tokia cried out,

“June!” Sakura called out, trying to reach out for the man,

June went down on his feet and cried in pain,

“I told you to step away, idiot.” She hissed and walked towards him, picking up the gun he dropped.

She tossed it towards Tokia and said,
“You know where the secret passageway is. Go there with our sisters and meet up with the rest of the our bodyguards.” Serena explained, “I want the five of you to escape from this mansion separately. Each one of you shall be escorted by your personal bodyguards. No one will leave as a group. Do you perfectly understand what I just said?” Serena asked, her troubled eyes looking at her horrified younger sisters.

Tokia just nodded silently and stared at the ground while holding Sakura against her chest.

“Once you’ve met up with the others, I want you all to meet up at the our other clinic. You know where that is, right?” Serena asked impatiently at her sister.
Tokia nodded again.

“Tell the rest about the location of the other clinic so none of you will get lost. Also, tell them that this order came from our parents. Anyone who disobeys—shoot them.” Serena said firmly, looking at Tokia.

Tokia snapped her head up by the mere mentioning of killing.

“Sister, I don’t think—”

“I said kill them if they don’t follow, is that clear?” Serena shouted, shaking with fury.
Tokia’s eyes were watering profusely. She closed them and felt the hot tears trickling down her pale cheeks,

“Crystal.”

“Good. You know how to hold a gun, don’t you?” Serena asked, coming closer to Tokia, “do you still remember our training sessions pertaining to dangerous machinery?” she asked, her eyes no longer filled with tears but with anguish and fear for the safety of her beloved sisters and parents.

“Yes.”

“How to load and unload?”

“Yes.”

“Here, take this.” Serena said, taking a revolver from the pocket of her coat and handing it over to Tokia.

“Bianca,” Serena called out, “I want you to use a gun as well.”

Bianca shook her head violently, but Serena took hold of her face and looked at her straight in the eyes,

“You will use a gun as I ordered. Do not try to disobey me.”

Bianca shivered in fear. Sakura watched their eldest speak so scarily towards her other older sisters.

Serena handed over June’s gun to Bianca and went over to the bed beside them and took two more guns underneath it.

Her sisters gasped in disbelief.

“If your bodyguards fail to protect you, I expect that you can protect yourselves as well.” Serena explained. She turned around to look at the twins, and the moment she did, the twins cringed in fear as well.

“Monette, Marlotte! This is no time for cowardice! Get over here and get your guns.” she ordered.

The twins stood up from the floor and slowly walked towards their eldest.

“You still remember how to use these?” she asked.

The twins nodded in reply. Serena handed it over to them and said,

“Don’t loose this.” She said, pointing at gun that each of them was holding.

Right now, all the four sisters were carrying a gun, and Sakura was the only one left without it.

“How about me?” the little girl asked, running closer to Serena.

“You still don’t know how to use a gun. You never had the chance to learn it unlike your sisters.”

“Then what will happen with me?”

“Gilfred will protect you.”

“Gilfred?” she asked in her tiny helpless voice

“Yes, him.”

Serena started to walk away, she reached out for the knob, but before she opened the door she said,

“The only reason why I’m doing this is because I love you too much…now go.”
oooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

“That’s why they killed them.” Serena admitted, pulling Shuichi’s thoughts back to reality.

Shuichi was in a daze. The scenes from his past came in a spontaneous order.

“The military killed mother and father. They died trying to protect us and the rest of all man.” Serena said.

Shuichi felt like puking. He was both terrified and exceedingly confused.

He slowly backed away.

Even though he still couldn’t accept that he was a part of the Tokigawa family…just remembering the thought of loosing the man and the woman from his dreams…seems to break him apart.

Shuichi tried to pull himself together. This isn’t still right. Something was still missing.

“You told me what your father does for a living,” he said, still resenting the fact that he was part of the Tokigawa family, “now how does that connect to me as of a woman?” he asked, begging deep inside for some clarification.

Serena understood that her ‘narration’ needed to be explained further, and she found it necessary.

“As I said, our father found a way on how to replace the original reproductive organ of the humans. He raised a team of doctors and scientists specializing in the field of internal systems… I was of them,” she confessed, pointing at herself,

“Since the whole organization depended upon the leadership of our father, it only meant that the key and the ways on how to operate on the specific patient remains inside our father’s knowledge,” she said, “and I, was lucky enough to be bestowed by that knowledge. He taught me how to do it, and why it was done that way. He answered all the questions pertaining to its impossibility. Soon enough, I was able to lead my own team of experts. I became the leading operator and I headed almost everything.” She said, and somehow, someway, Shuichi could see the profound pride in those eyes,

“But then…one night…one fateful goddamn night,” Serena said in a seething tone, “the military attacked our medical base. They tried to look for the documentation that explains the complicated procedures of the whole operation. But of course, our father was smarter than that. The moment the military tried to get our father for its selfish benefits, our father hid all the documents, important evidences and everything that might discover his invention beforehand.” She paused and continued, “but after they broke in the lab, they broke into our home…and tortured father!” she cried out. “I had to watch him suffer while I hide myself from the military…I wanted to rescue him, but mother forbid me to do so…she said my responsibility is to take care the rest of you and myself…and then she…and then she was the one who showed herself to the military…she blocked a bullet that was supposed to be for our father…and so she died…father tried to avenge her death, but obviously,” she stopped, crying spontaneously and swallowing hard, “a man with his hands tied behind him and bleeding to death would be no match for a about a hundred bullets or so…” she covered her mouth and closed her eyes. The pictures in her mind were too much to take,

You know, up to now, I never really understood why so many of those guns fired at him…cruel, don’t you think?” Serena asked, her eyes probing Shuichi, “and now to answer your question, since mother told me to protect the rest of you, I decided to use father’s innovation on all of us.” She said proudly, crossing her arms in front of her chest,

I gathered my private team for one night and told them everything that had happened. They agreed to operate on us, and did as I instructed. I was the last one to be operated because I made sure that I was there, taking part of the operation, looking after the rest of you…” she explained hoarsely, “in short, I made all of us a man. I privately handed all the five of you and I witnessed your change.” Serena said.

Shuichi couldn’t speak. This was all too far-fetched.

“H-How could you? A-And then…after doing that…you left me behind?” he said in no more than a faint whisper.

“I-I did it only because I loved all of you so much! I wanted to protect you—the military knew our identities, they had to exterminate every single one of us so that no one will succeed the organization. Father made it sure that only the six of us and our next descendants can succeed the organization legally—and no one else…not even the military, nor the government…” she continued,

“That’s why the military was after the six of us…and what better way to hide us than to
change our whole being?” she said, “this is the reason why I had to change all of us. Don’t you see?! We had no choice…it was either we do the operation, or we die!” she cried out frustratingly, “God!” she exclaimed, “you have no idea how much I’ve been through!” she said, “if only you knew half the pain—then would you understand everything!”

“How can I understand ‘everything’ when I can’t remember a single, damn thing!”

Shuichi persisted.

But he was lying.
Because Serena knew.
“As of right now, I am completely aware that you are having fragments of memories of your past life, of your childhood. I am a doctor and a scientist, Shuichi. And I am damn good at my job, so don’t you dare lie to me. I know exactly what your body is feeling right now and what you’re going through.” She said, her green eyes growing bigger.

“Shuichi, have you experienced extreme difficulty from your body?” Serena asked testily, “have you—emitted blood lately? From your mouth to be exact.” She added,

“Have you felt indescribable pain from your insides? As if something was twisting it thoroughly? Most especially from your groin.” She said in-a-matter-of-fact kind of way, “did you ever feel—no, make that think, that you are going to die?”

Shuichi stood still from where he was standing.

“How…how do you know?” Shuichi asked shakily, his hands forming into fists.

“I told you. I operated on you, and therefore I know the effects…” Serena broke off and began saying something again.

“Father’s innovation was successful…but sadly, this was proven wrong after ten years.”

“What?” Shuichi asked, his eyes narrowing,

“After we lost you from that dreadful night, years later, ten years later after our first few human experimentation, those same patients came back asking for help. They wanted to know why they were coughing blood, why their whole body seem to be breaking apart from inside, and most of all, why their reproductive system was hurting like hell.” She said tearfully,

“we found out when we operated on the same persons we once opened. What we found out shocked us as well. The original organ was starting to decay from inside.
You see, part of father’s innovation was to replace the original organ—but, not to take it away from the body. By simply adding the new organ and connecting it to the whole body, the complete operation will be achieved.” She explained,

“we thought we had everything right and perfect. We didn’t know that this kind of effect can happen…to continue my explanation, the decaying original organ will slowly destroy all the organs of your body due to its decaying matter. The current organ will be affected and for the body to be treated, the current organ must be taken away and the original one must be revived before it completely decays —I don’t know how to explain this thoroughly to you because it involves specific details and medical interpretations…but nevertheless, in conclusion—if the person who had undergone our operation is not treated in ten years, this person will die.” Serena said and then stepping closer to Shuichi,

“Sakura, my angel…this is your tenth year. You’re about to die.”
