Time flew quickly, before everyone knew it was already Saturday night, the fourth round was going to begin early next Monday, but instead of worrying their asses off most trainers were now drop dead drunk celebrating (or drowning their sadness) on a party organized for all contestants, at least they still had one day left to cure the hangovers.
Almost every person that signed up for the Pokemon League had joined the party, even the ones who had lost. The poor contestants that didn’t even pass the first rounds came to get to know the others and have fun, or maybe even to ask for training advices. And the ones who had been defeated on the previous round stayed to watch the rest of the League and cheer for those who won, or simply to watch the ones who defeated them get their butts kicked.
On the other hand, the players for next round had several reasons to participate in the party, some wanted to meet their opponents better and get them wasted, others just wanted to have fun and forget the painful training week they had, a few only accepted the invitation out of politeness and one or two simply wanted the free drinks and food.
Sam watched Jack dance on top of a table, the boy was completely wasted with only three beers, that made Sam remember that awful night in the bathroom and that’s exactly why he had drank nothing but soda all night long.
He wondered where Vi was, she had been having problems training her pokemon so it wouldn’t surprise him if she had left to go train some more, he was bored so searching for her wasn’t a bad idea.
On the way he saw plenty of trainers he recognized. Christopher was near the bar shouting at his sister Susan for drinking shoots of absinth, the pretty girl was still a minor and he didn’t like the way the other male trainers were checking her out. Zane seemed to be having the same problem with his sisters Kate and Asuki who were singing “inappropriate songs for their age” at the karaoke.
Tiphanie, Wren, Cherry, Ava and Sariah appeared to have formed some sort of girly gang, Sam wondered why girls always end up gathering in packs, apparently they were analysing the boys and giving them rates. The girls smiled when he passed by and some of them blinked, that made him slightly blush, maybe they had rated him a 4 or a 5.
Near him was also Yami and Gabriel arguing about sunglasses and goggles, they were interrupted by Jephry who insisted that eye-patches were cooler than any other accessory. Those boys must have had their share of alcohol to be chatting about fashion so fiercely.
On the next table was Mark hanging out with Emma, apparently they were discussing the subject of evolution, Steven was alone on another table next to them pretending not to listen to their conversation, it was obviously interesting him but he wasn’t really the social type of guy.
After walking for a while he saw Hakan, Dracon, Akita and Richard among a large group of trainers Sam never met, they were all trying to ask questions to the Gym Leaders and Elite Four members that were sitting at a table, not all of them had left after hosting the last rounds.
Grim was also talking with a Gym Leader, it was Erika from Celadon, but those two looked pretty intimate, Sam tried not to stare when they kissed.
In front of him was now another large group of contestants sharing battle strategies and bragging about their best battles, among them he recognized Alex and Kamon who were arguing about the last rounds, Ed, Dante and Netoow who appeared to be more interested in discussing about different types of pokemon and Bren that was sharing stories about Legendaries with a large group of people, Sam only recognized Naxuro among those. Darian was the only guy who seemed to be quiet among the other trainers, while drinking a cup of Vodka.
Suddenly he saw Vi outside the window but before he could get near it someone pushed him.
“ ‘ey mate, Geff just caught Tyson flirting with Kat, ten pounds as there’s gonna be a fight! ‘urry!” said the british boy.
Sam took one last look but he didn’t see his friend outside anymore, so he decided to follow Ross hoping to see some action.
~*~*~*~*~*~*~
Meanwhile, outside of the party flames flew in the air, Vi ran while shouting at both her fire pokemon, she kept on thinking about ways to finally put an end to the fight, but she wasn’t exactly swimming in ideas.
A lot had happened during the past days, all the eggs laid by the female pokemons hatched and Haru was delighted after seeing his first born son from this new family, Luna had given birth to a strong and cheerful Houndour, but on the other hand he felt pure anger after seeing his second son, after all, the pokemon laid by Shade was a cute little…Growlithe.
Ever since that Helios and Haru had been fighting every time they saw each other, which pretty much ruined Vi’s plans for Round 4 since she planned on teaming up those two.
“Come on guys, can’t you knock it off for a while you’re gonna burn down this entire forest! Ciarán help me out here will ya?” begged the girl exhausted.
“Sorry, I did all I could already, Helios says there is nothing wrong about being in love and Haru just wants to fucking kill him for humping his property, then Helios says that Shade is NOT a piece of meat and bla bla bla, it’s all the same every time.” answered the pokemon. He had grown considerably in the last weeks, he wasn’t huge but was definitely larger than most average male Eevees by now.
“I’m doomed.” said the girl falling on her knees, until the tiny frail Shinx began to bite on the tip of her pants, “it’s ok Zero I’m not giving up I’m just tired…” Vi reassured him, but the pokemon kept on pulling the fabric harder, so Vi finally realized that he was actually trying to warn them about a burning tree that was about to fall down.
“.”
“.”
“.”
“.”
“What…?” asked the girl confused.
“Are you ok? Did you bump your head?” said a soft laid back voice, she could feel someone on top of her but her vision was still blurry.
“What just happened?” she asked trying to regain her senses, her head was hurting, so she probably did bump it somewhere.
“Well you were chilling down under a falling tree so I had no choice but to jump and save you.” answered the boy with a bit of sarcasm in his voice.
Finally she was able to focus her vision on her saviour, it was a young man, much older than her but still very handsome and juvenile in appearance, probably around 23 or even 25. He had short blonde hair with bangs and several earrings, he looked like the lazy and laid back type of guy but he probably spent a lot of time taking care of that hairdo.
She stared at his deep blue eyes, they looked tired and bored but at the same time excited for some reason. Vi tried not to blush but it was impossible, he was without a doubt the most handsome guy she had ever seen until now, Jack was chopped liver compared to this one. Plus the way their bodies were touching each other wasn’t really helping, he was completely stretched over her, pretty much as if they were in a missionary position.
It had been a long time since she felt direct human contact…outside her dreams, so it didn’t her take her much to realize she was feeling wet, that made her blush even harder, but finally that awkward silent moment was interrupted by the tiny Zero licking the guys face, probably thanking him for the rescue.
~*~*~
“Sorry about that…” she said lifting up and cleaning her clothes, now she could see that he was wearing blue denim jeans with a matching jacket with little golden symbols and a black t-shirt.
“What’s this?” he asked reading a small piece of paper.

“Huh? Oh that’s the list of the pokemon I want to gather, I’m trying to become a master in canine and feline pokemon…” she answered shyly and proud full at the same time, Vi was very happy about the way her list was developing itself.
“I see…so you met Suicune? Did you try to capture him?” the young man asked coldly.
“What? No! He’s a legendary they belong in nature not in a pokeball, I just want to be friendly with them if I can.”
“What about Raikou and Entei you didn’t meet those?” he wondered.
“Hum no, it’s not easy to find legendaries you know, but why? Have you seen them?”
“…”
“What’s your name?” he demanded.
“…Vanessa, but my friends call me Vi.” the girl answered feeling awkward about the sudden interrogation.
“Vanessa please battle me. Electric pokemon only."
“…You wanna battle now? Sure but I’m no easy picking if that’s what you think.”
“We’ll see soon, Raichu come on out!” the mysterious guy shouted unleashing the pokemon.
“Ok, Ciarán go take care of him.”
“Eevees aren’t Electric Types.”
“As you can see this isn’t no ordinary Eevee, just attack and you’ll see. Take your best shot.” Vi flirted blinking.
“Interesting, Raichu Thunderbolt now.”
Ciarán didn’t bother to dodge the attack taking it directly, and with that he evolved into a stunning metallic green Jolteon while involved by the electric attack.
“Interesting indeed. Raichu Volt Tackle.” he commanded making the pokemon become a full speed ball of electricity heading towards Ciarán.
“Ciáran Volt Tackle right back at him!”
Both pokemon collapsed intensely making the ground shake, but even with that they kept on standing hurt and tired from the impact.
“Raichu come back. Go Octillery Water Gun.”
And with that the Eevee began to change his shape again, this time into a shiny pink Vaporeon.
“As I thought, THUNDER NOW!” he shouted.
“What?? But Octilleries are Water Types!! Ciarán DODGE!!”
But it was too late, he had already been hit and the strike was very effective, making the pokemon faint and return to his original state.
“Damn, come back Ciarán, take a good long rest, Ray take his place and pay him back with the same coin.” she commanded to the Manectric.
The pokemon nearly vanished and reappeared in front of the opponent in a matter of seconds. Knocking the poor Water pokemon to the ground back with a powerful Thunder attack.
“He’s fast, but let’s see if he’s strong enough.” thought the young man happily surprised, “Go Luxray.”.
It was a tough battle for both pokemon, they were pretty much even in level, and although Ray had the advantage of speed, the Luxray compensated for it in power and size. Several minutes later the battle ended with the Manectric being paralyzed by a Thunder Fang, so Vi decided to take him away from the fight.
“I guess you win…” she surrended.
“Why? You still have that Shinx over there.”
“A Shinx against a Luxray? Besides he can’t use any type of electric moves or attacks, that’s why his ex-trainer used to beat him up, he seems much healthier now, but he still acts like a Normal Type, he doesn’t even eat the same type of food the Electrics do…I’m training him for contests instead of battles…” she was explaining before being interrupted.
“Why? Just because he can’t use electricity? According to that theory all Normal Types shouldn’t be able to fight in battles.”
“Huh…”
“If you have any faith in your pokemon let him try to battle.”
“I just don’t want him to get hurt, he’s been through a lot, I’ll let him battle but if I see any sign of danger I’ll take him out. Go Zero you can do it sweetheart.”
“Luxray use Shock Wave.”
“Zero dodge it!” but the tiny pokemon wasn’t used to have fast reflexes so he took the attack, but it didn’t seem to do any damage at all.
“I see, he drains electricity, that’s why he can’t use it yet, his system is in reverse, instead of expelling it he sucks it in.” he noticed.
“Jump and use Thunder Fang now Luxray!!”
“What?? Are you trying to kill him?? Zero come back now!!”
But instead of obeying the tiny one tried to attack, and for everyone’s surprise he unleashed a very powerful Return attack that made the tired Luxray lose balance and fall on the ground.
“Not bad.”
“Zero..? “ she said stunned while the pokemon ran back to her.
“You said his former trainer did nothing but beat him up, I guess you’re the first person to show him love, and that reflects on his attacks, he obviously only defeated my Luxray because he was tired but that’s what I was expecting. Here accept this as a thank you gift for such a wonderful battle.” said the handsome man taking a necklace with some sort of angel shaped symbol from under his shirt and putting it around Vi’s neck.
“But…this is a Gym Badge…don’t tell me you’re a…”
“My name is Volkner, I’m the Gym Leader of Sunyshore City in the Sinnoh region, I’m normally the last challenger before trainers can move on to the Sinnoh League, but I rarely have battles as interesting as this one.”
“Volkner?? Oh yeah you hosted one of the rounds…” she mumbled ashamed of not recognizing him before, “I can’t accept this, I didn’t fully win, your Raichu is still able to battle and the Luxray isn’t completely defeated.”
“Take it, if you want a rematch just come see me in my Gym, I’ll be waiting for you there. Besides, I know someone that you would love to meet.”
“Thank you…”
“Good luck with the Hoenn League, see ya later Vi.” Volkner said walking away with his pokemon.
“Bye...” she said blushing, “he called me by my nickname…”.

Round 4 – Point Score
-------------------------------------------------------------
-------------------------------------------------------------
Two days later the time had finally ended, everyone was nervous but excited at the same time, they all had trained fiercely and so they felt prepared for whatever might come ahead.
The sky was clear and the stadium was full, everyone cheered for the players entering the respective division benches, but it was when the new hosts stepped to the podium that the crowd went wild.
“Good afternoon, my name is Drew as you probably know, this beautiful lady next to me is Dawn and this…gentleman here is Harley, we are the Grand Festival Champions from across the regions and for that we were invited to host this round."
*hands over the microphone to Dawn*
"Hi! It’s such an honour to be here today! It has been a long road for all of us during the last years and so we know exactly how this young trainers are feeling right now, so all I can say is that you shouldn’t worry, it’ll all be ok…"
*Harley steals the spotlight*
"Hello my darlings! Aren’t you all the cutest things, oh my, don’t listen to this twerp here, off course you need to worry, you’ll soon be battling for your pride and future, even if you win that doesn’t mean you’ll move on to the next round. To be number one you must shed blood and sweat, BRING YOUR OPPONENTS TO THEIR KNEES AND SPIT ON THEM…"
*Drew throws Harley to the back*
"Sorry about that, just give your best and play fair that’s all you need to know, we’re all very excited to begin but first I must explain how the battles will work.
The essence of this round is to score as much points as possible, and those are decided by the number of pokemon the trainers decide to use. The points go from 100 to 600, using only one pokemon will give the player 600 points, but each pokemon added decreases the score by 100, in other works if I wanted to use 4 pokemon simultaneously I would have 300 points.
But for that the players must win the match, losing a battle will cause the contestant to remain with 0 points. All trainers are allowed to use items, but they cannot switch or add any pokemon after the battle begins.
Everybody will leave here today as a winner, but only those that score the most points and reach the first place will have a chance to challenge the Elite Four.
Before starting I just wanted to send my love to my beloved wife May, it’s a shame she couldn’t be here today because of her pregnancy. And now without any further interruptions please welcome the players of the Blue Division…Mark, Sam and Steven, they’ll be the first ones to try this brand new arena, it holds in it all different types of grounds so you can use any kind of pokemon you choose too.”
Mark and Sam both walked into the arena, they greeted each other politely and prepared for the count down, since both players had to launch their pokemon simultaneously the stadium’s screen TV gave the signal to begin.
Sam sent in two pokemon, his Medicham and his Golduck, while Mark decided to use only one, a Dusclops.
“That’s a risky choice, but it seems both players prefer quality above quantity.” said Dawn.
It was the debut of Sam’s Golduck, Nya, on the League, but actually that was his first caught pokemon, while Chi the Medicham was his starter one, both females had been battling together for a long time, but normally Sam kept Nya hidden as his ace card. However, they would need more than just experience to defeat their opponent.
Mark’s Dusclops had a very high level and appeared to have unusual abilities, the mind of both females seemed to be affected by something, so unsure of what was happening Sam ordered both Psychic pokemon to use Calm Wind to focus their minds on the battle and Safeguard to prevent the opponent from inflicting any status ailments.
Sam’s strategy was to use the girls teleport abilities to strike and disappear before being damaged back, but that plan wasn’t working very well against a Ghost Type opponent. And now he was mostly using Teleport simply to avoid being hit by Shadow Balls, since even a single strike could be very troublesome.
Finally, Nya was able to get behind her opponent and cast a Foresight on the Dusclops, leaving him unprotected against Fighting moves. So while the pokemon felt confused about his modified state Chi gave the first blow with a Hi Jump Kick.
The battle lasted much more than that and Chi was eventually knocked out by a Focus Punch. But in the end Nya was able to trap her opponent on a large Whirpool strike that defeated him, and luckily for her a former Endure move that she had used avoided her from completely fainting because of Destiny Bond, allowing Sam to win instead of finishing with a tied up match.
“Now that’s what I was talking about, such passion and wrath, lovely, but only one won the match with 500 points, the other sweetie got 0 for now. So let’s give them a second for Nurse Joy to heal their pokemon and let’s watch the next round between Sam and Steven.” announced Harley.
Sam was still mentally tired from the first battle, but he had no choice but to focus, with already 500 points he had good changes of gaining the first place.
Again both trainers launched simultaneously the pokeballs, but this time it seemed both young men had chosen to use three pokemon. Steven had a Lucario, a Chuckle and a Spiritomb, while Sam had a Machamp, an Ariados and a Milotic.
Steven began preparing his strategy, the Shuckle in the front started using Double Team, while the Spiritomb was casting Hypnosis from the back, and the Lucario simply stood still between them.
Both the Machamp and the Milotic fell asleep from the attack, but Min the Ariados had the Insomnia ability in her genes, so she angrily jumped in the air and attacked the Spiritomb with several Poison Jabs that were too toxic for the rare pokemon to remain conscious.
Quickly the Lucario retaliated against what had happened, but before beating her opponent to exhaustion she became damaged by a sting. And so after a few minutes since the beginning of the battle both players had already only two pokemon.
While Sam's pokemon slept, Steven used the time to finish the Double Team to it’s fullest effect and to start using Swords Dance on the Lucario. But after listening to their masters voice both Tak and Dev finally woke up ready for battle.
The Lucario lost some time healing her wound with potions, so the Swords Dance wasn’t very powerful yet. However, the Shuckle was successfully confusing the opponents, making them unable to strike correctly, damaging only themselves.
But unfortunately for Steven, Sam ordered his male pokemon to cast a Haze attack on the arena, that slowly deflected all status changes that had been formerly used, destroying his opponents strategy and leaving the Shuckle defenceless.
However, before being knocked out by a Focus Punch the small pokemon was able to poison both his opponents with Toxic, but still Steven had only his Lucario left now.
The lonely pokemon didn’t have any time to use Swords Dance again so she focused on trying to defeat the Milotic with a Close Combat, and she was successful, but the attack lowered both her defence and attack, making her almost helpless against the large Machamp.
It took a while for Sam to realize that with both these victories he was now already in the first place, but it didn’t take much for Steven to feel wrathful about only being able to gain at least the second prize now. But still both player shacked hands and congratulated each other for the battle.
“That was an intense battle, very strategical from both players, but it seems Sam’s defensive skills helped him reach 900 points which makes us now only wonder about who will gain the second place.” informed Drew.
Both Mark and Steven didn’t waste any time reaching the arena, they were both burning inside knowing that this battle was their last chance to prove themselves in this League.
Mark threw all of his pokemon, the Dusclops, a Gardevoir and a Porygon2, while Steven didn’t think twice before sending all of his Regi’s into battle, the Regice, the Regirock and the Registeel.
Unlike the last battle this one wasn’t strategical at all, both players were simply fighting with all they had. Nobody healed their pokemon or used any type of item, they just kept on fighting fiercefully for several minutes.
The Gardevoir was the first pokemon to be defeated and so Mark’s party was now under a serious unadvantage, but still they caused a huge amount of damage defeating the Registeel.
However, later on with both Regi’s striking simultaneously the opponents were defeated, and Steven won the second place with 400 points, leaving Mark with the third place on the Blue Division.
“I wish all battles were like this…*sight*, you kids should feel proud for reaching so far, even the third place is already a great honour, but there’s always next year to aim again for the Champion Title. Come on everybody show them the LOVE!” congratulated Harley with tears in his eyes.
The crowd went wild screaming for all three contestants as they moved towards the podium with respective places, and so Dawn placed on each player the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals along with a kiss on the cheek.
“And this concludes the Blue Division for now with Sam as the winner, but don’t leave your seats because in a few minutes it’s the Yellow Division that will battle for the Golden Medal.” said Drew.
~*~*~*~*~*~
“Welcome back to the second part of the Fourth Round, as you can see all three players from the Yellow Division are already near the arena, the contestants are as you know Alex, Dante and Dracon. So let’s wish good luck for both Dante and Alex on their first battle.” hosted Dawn happily.
Before beginning both players spoke to each other, making sure none of them would be offended by the outcome of the battle, and so they launched their chosen pokemon.
Just like the previous battle in the Blue Division they had both sent 3 pokemon each. Alex chose an Electrode, a Gengar and a Typholosion, when Dante picked his Gallade, a Sableye and a Weavile.
Alex quickly ordered the first attack, using Flame Wheel against the Weavile. However, before the pokemon could strike, Shadow began a mighty Blizzard attack that involved the whole arena, causing the Typholosion to miss the attack.
That attack not only damaged all the opponents, but also gave time for the Sableye to poison all three pokemon using Toxic.
As soon as the Blizzard dissipated Alex commanded the Typholosion to use Blast Burn on the Weavile, which caused a huge mass of damage burning and fainting the Ice opponent. However, it left Ragnarok the Typholosion, extremely tired.
Meanwhile, Alex’s Electrode kept on using Charge to gain power, but while he was doing that he got struck by the Gallade with a Slash, that obviously didn’t defeat him, but it angered him enough to unleash the gathered power with a powerful Spark attack. But as planned the Gallade teleported himself out of the way, causing the Spark to actually hit Umbra the Gengar.
Alex tried to calm both his pokemon down but during that the exhausted Typholosion fainted due to the amounts of poison in his blood, and with that both the angry pokemon focused on the battle instead of fighting with each other, and Alex didn’t waste any more time using Lava Cookies to heal both pokemon.
After that the battle was hard and long, but the biggest event was when the Electrode followed the Sableye into a trap and got hit simultaneously by both his opponents, causing him to be out of the competition, leaving the Gengar alone.
Umbra was indeed powerful, but his Psychic attacks didn’t damage the Gallade as much as he had hoped, and with the sneaky Sableye attacking out of nowhere he was caught in a Shockwave that allowed the Gallade to strike the pokemon directly without him having a chance to vanish.
However, as the Gengar fainted so did the Gallade due to Destiny Bond, but with the Sableye still standing Dante won the first match and gained 400 points.
“That was a very interesting battle, but nothing is decided yet, let’s wait for the second round with Dracon against Dante.” said Drew.
As soon as the players wished each other good luck, Dracon sent in all his four pokemon, a Skarmory, an Empoleon, a Venusaur and a Mightyena, while Dante switched for a Rotom and a Chimecho, keeping only his healed Gallade.
However, this battle was going to end very quickly, Dracon commanded both his Empoleon and Skarmory to strike against the Chimecho, while the Venusaur and Mightyena attacked the Rotom.
Dante didn’t hesitated ordering his Gallade to backup them up, but while Requiem couldn’t decide who to rescue first, Sonata the Chimecho was already fainting after that surprise double attack.
Whisp, the small Ghost pokemon gave a slight electrocution to his attackers after being hit by Razor Leaf and Crunch strikes, but that wasn’t enough to take any of the two down before he slowly fainted.
Angered the Gallade gave his best in battle, taking down the Venusaur, but after being battling alone against four opponents for so long he eventually fell on the floor exhausted, giving Dracon 300 points for the victory.
Dracon quickly apologized to Dante for the battle, but none of them was upset about it, all trainers must be ready for any type of attack his opponents might strike with. In a Pokemon League it’s all or nothing.
“Oh my! What a battle! It was literally a Divide and Conquer situation! Now I can’t wait to see what happens in the last round!” shouted Harley excited.
It was the last battle and all trainers were nervous, they all still had chances of winning, it all depended on this fight, and so Dracon sent only 3 pokemon now, keeping his Mightyena out of battle because of an injury, but unfortunately Alex had chosen only two pokemon, and both of those had advantage over Dracon's party, since it was his Typholosion and the Electrode.
Just like in the previous battle Ragnarock was immeadiatly ordered to use Flame Wheel, but this time it hit successfully the Venusaur, and it was quickly followed by a Blast Burn that finished the job.
Meanwhile, Blitzkrieg the Electrode charged in energy, and when the Empoleon attacked with Peck he unleashed it all with Spark causing a lot of damage on the Water pokemon paralyzing her.
The Skarmory stroke down on the Electrode causing a decent amount of damage, but it wasn’t enough to defeat the opponent, and even after dodging plenty of attacks, she was finally hit by a Flame Thrower that brought the Flying Steel pokemon to the ground.
Dracon decided to stop the match, he would only be torturing both his pokemon if it lasted any longer, he had given his best so there was no shame in admitting defeat.
“That is a very honourable thing to do, it’s a shame there was such an advantage in Type, but it was still a good battle, it seems that now this leaves Alex with 500 points, Dante with 400 and Dracon with 300, this Division was pretty tied up I think anyone could have been the winner, but it was Alex, so let’s cheer for him and for all of them!” greeted Dawn while Drew distributed the medals.
“Ok darlings now it’s time to go for a break, but don’t lose your excitement because the Green Division will come right after these commercial!” announced Harley, *blows kiss*.
~*~*~*~*~
“Are we on the air? Oh ok, welcome to the Green Division battles for the Fourth Round, it seems both players are already launching their pokeballs, they must both be in a hurry to wrap this up. Apparently Jack chooses to use 5 of is pokemon, leaving only his Crobat behind, and Naxuro is using only 3, a Snorlax, a Ditto and a Metagross.” informed Drew.
All Naxuro’s pokemon had great defensive skills but still it wasn’t easy fighting against five pokemon that were specialized in full frontal attacks. The Snorlax, no matter how much she tried to use Rest, ended up receiving more damage from the twins than she could heal, their damage points had increased a lot in the past days. Gene was defeated by the Metagross with a Hyper Beam and the Ditto fought alone against Raito the Alakazam, transformed into him.
The battle lasted longer than most people expected, but the now lonely Metagross eventually lost against his four opponents.
“Well it seems we have the first case of using quantity to ensure victory, it did work but Jack gains only 200 points for now.” said Dawn.
Naxuro healed his pokemon and got ready to fight his second opponent, Richard. To try to gain more points both of them used a very reduced number of pokemon. Naxuro sent in his Swampert and Wobbuffet, while Richard used only his Blaziken.
Richard began by using Sunny Day, it wasn’t enough to stop his foes attacks but it helped a lot increasing his Fire power and decreasing the Water damage.
The Blaziken was fast and kept on healing himself with several berries that Richard tossed at him, and for everyone’s surprise he knocked out the Swampert with a sneaky Brave Bird strike.
All that was left was the Wobbufet that seemed to stay still, but in fact he had been casting Safeguard to protect himself and was getting ready for a Mirror Coat attack. That attack worked perfectly, his foe used a special attack against him so he received double the damage for that hit, but because of the increased Fire power what happened was that both pokemon fainted simultaneously, giving both players a tied up match.
“Bah I guess nobody won, and now that makes me have to explain what will happen because of it, the bosses decided that having another battle would be unfair for both the trainers and the pokemon, so all tied up matches make the contestants win only half the points they would get if they had fully won, so Naxuro gets 250 and Richard gains 300 points.” explained Harley.
“It seems Jack has dropped down for the third place with this, but there’s still one battle to go, let’s cheer for both trainers people!” teased the female host.
Jack knew that he had to win this battle to avoid being in the third place, he only needed to use at least 5 pokemon again to get the Golden Medal, but if he ended up with a tied up match like they did that would make him drop for the second position. Plus, Sam had won with 900 points, winning with only 400 would feel like a defeat for him against his rival, so without giving much more thought to it Jack sent in only his Alakazam to battle.
Meanwhile Richard decided to play safer this time, sending in three pokemon, his Blaziken, a Sableye and a Blissey.
It was easy to see that the Blaziken was the only real warrior in the opponents team, and he had unadvantage against Raito, so Jack decided that all he had to do was first defeat the Blissey and Sableye and then finish the job with the Blaziken, but that wouldn’t end up being as easy as he thought.
Raito was told to use Protect towards any attack the Blaziken might send, his first prey was going to be the Blissey. The female pokemon had awesome healing abilities, which allowed her to survive several attacks, but in the end she ended up being knocked out by a Zen Headbutt, the difference in strength between both pokemon had been too much for her to handle.
Richard didn’t seem upset, that had given time for his Blaziken to increase his attack power and the Alakazam began to get tired.
Jack was now trying to hit the small Sableye, but the sneaky little pokemon was far to hard to hit directly, simply running away from any possible attacks.
It was now time for the Blaziken and the Alakazam to fight, it was a tough battle but with Psychic moves Jack had the upper hand and defeated Richard’s ace card.
However, Jack continued to be unable to hit the remaining Sableye and Richard had used a Max Revive on the Blaziken. They fought and the result was the same, but again Richard revived his fallen Blaziken and Raito was beginning to get exhausted, even Synthesis was beginning to get weaker.
This went on and on for a while, until Jack finally snapped and decided to put an end to this, shouting at his starter pokemon to use Heal Block on his opponent.
“Heal Block? That is one of the rarest Psychic moves…why did it take him so long to cast it? He must have been planning to use that against me, but again his boiling blood ended up making him show it too soon…Pride will be the end of you someday Jack.” thought Damien looking at the boy.
Unable to heal or revive any of his pokemon Richard felt a small panic attack, but that didn’t stop him from ordering both his pokemon to give one final blow against the exhausted Alakazam. But before they could hit their target they got struck a final Psybeam that decided the match, giving Jack the victory with a total of 800 points.
“Amazing, breathtaking until the last moment, but now it seems Jack receives the Golden Medal, Richard wins the Silver one and Naxuro gets the Bronze. Let’s congratulate all this trainers while Harley distributes the prizes.” mentioned Drew

~*~*~*~*~
“Hello again! I hope everyone’s ready for the Red Division because all the players seem to be excited to start! The next battle will be the first in this round between two girls, so let’s see what Kat and Tiphanie have to show us, good luck girls!” cheered Dawn.
Tiphanie took two pokeballs from her backpack, while Kat took three. Both girls sent them in simultaneously and while the first one selected her Ditto and her Empoleon, the other girl picked a Charizard, an Arcanine and a Raichu.
The Empoleon obviously had the upper hand against two of the opponents, but the Raichu was a troublesome adversary, so Nue ordered her Ditto to transform into the Arcanine and keep the Raichu busy.
The Charizard was the toughest opponent but eventually he was thrown out of the arena by a large Hydro Pump. Meanwhile the Raichu defeated the Empoleon before being Crunched by the transformed Ditto.
Now all that was left was Idem the Ditto and Blaze the real Arcanine. They tried to fight each other but it was hopeless, almost like fighting against a mirror, so to gain advantage Nue ordered the Ditto to change his transformation into his own fallen comrade. And now as an Empoleon Idem used the water in the arena to cause a massive Whirpool, giving 500 points to his master for the victory.
“Very well sweeties, and so while Nue gets ready for another round let’s wait for Chris to enter the arena.” said Harley.
Nue took two different balls from her bag, this time it was a Haunter and a Gallade. But she was shocked to see Chris had used four of his pokemon, a Tyranitar, an Aggron, a Jolteon and an Alakazam.
Obviously the battle didn’t last long, because no matter how much Nue’s pokemon tried to fight back it was just too much to handle. And so Chris moved on gaining 300 points.
“It seems we have again the advantage by numbers situation, but now Chris needs at least more 300 points to reach the first place, let’s watch the match.” mentioned Drew.
Chris decided to keep using four pokemon but he switched some of them, having now a Metagross and a Blaziken instead of the Tyranitar and Alakazam.
Kat on the other hand had no other choice but to play with only one pokemon in order to aim for the first place, so she sent in her best one, Rex the Charizard.
Amazingly enough it was a pretty even match, the Charizard managed to defeat both the Metagross and the Aggron with combos of Fire with Flying moves. Afterwards the Jolteon inflicted a lot of Electric damage into the dragon but it wasn’t enough to paralyse him, and in revenge the Charizard used a Seismic Toss on the small pokemon.
Chris was upset of the way things were turning out to be, he was suppose to have the upper hand but the Charizard had a very high level and he didn’t have any moves with advantage against him.
The crowd was screaming their lungs out during the last battle between the Charizard and Wildfire the Blaziken. After being healed with a Hyper Potion, Rex tried to repeat the same move he had done on the Jolteon, but this time the Blaziken was able fight back while she was still being pushed in the air, causing both pokemon to collapse into the ground.
The fall had weakened both, and the exhaustion wasn’t helping, they both tried to stand up listening to their masters requests, but none of them was able to do so. Turning this match into the second one to finish with a tied up result.
“Unbelievable! I can’t believe this ended up being a tie up, but I guess this way nobody really loses! The final scores are now Tiphanie with 500, Chris with 450 and Kat with 300, this Division sure was even!” cheered Dawn before grabbing the medals.
“Well don’t leave your seats because it will only be a short break before the Orange Competitors join us.” finished Drew.
~*~*~*~*~
“And we’re back! I hope you had your snacks and cleared your bladders because I’m pretty sure the Orange Division will grab you to your seat, so let’s stop wasting time and cheer for the first contestants Vanessa and Bren!” hosted Harley.
Before the fight began Bren greeted his opponent politely saying it was an honour to fight no matter how the fight might end, Vanessa smiled and agreed.
The girl had thought about both battles for several days, so now it was time to see if her strategies were right. To avoid any chances of losing she sent both of her best pokemon, Haru and Ciarán. Bren on the other hand sent all his party pokemon, the Alakazam, the Blaziken and the Shedinja.
The Blaziken began by attacking both opponents with a fierce Flame Thrower attack, but Haru stepped forward and took the full strike, which only made him stronger thanks to his Flash Fire ability, pumping up his next strike against the poor Shedinja.
With one pokemon down Bren ordered the Alakazam to strike against the weird Eevee, causing a considerable amount of damage on Ciarán but not enough to take him down.
The mutant jumped afterwards into the pool in the arena, turning himself into a Vaporeon and making the crowd stare in shock. With his new water moves he now threw a large Surf attack on the stunned Blaziken, while the Alakazam was able to escape.
The Alakazam kept on teleporting and striking against both opponents, but with Ciarán hiding under water and Haru being immune to Psychic attacks, he was eventually defeated by a surprise Crunch attack by the Houndoom.
“Very nice, taking advantage with type and immunities is always useful, I just don’t understand what kind of Eevee that one is, but it doesn’t matter since Vanessa gains 500 points for now. Let’s move on to Kamon against her.” said Drew.
Vi took long breaths, she knew Kamon was a tough opponent and not many of her pokemon had advantages over his. After listening to the new rule about the tied up matches she had an idea for a new strategy, but it was risky. However, she was ready to take that risk.
Kamon sent his entire party to ensure the victory, a Charizard, a Nidoking and a Tyrogue, but he was shocked to see his opponent decided to send in only one pokemon, a Delcatty.
As soon as the battle started Vi commanded Roxy to use Perish Song, which was successful, so now in a matter of minutes every single pokemon in the arena was going to faint, the only problem was making sure the Delcatty didn't get defeated before that.
Angry, Kamon ordered all of his pokemon to strike simultaneously, he had no time to waste. But before they could reach the Delcatty she began to use Attract, making both the Nidoking and the Tyrogue disobey their master and stop the attack.
Vi was feeling better about this weird strategy, but unfortunately the Charizard was a female and so she was still attacking. Because of that Roxy was almost hit by a Dragon Claw strike but she was able to escape, so quickly Vanessa ordered her to use Substitute.
Now with two Delcatties running on the field Kamon didn’t know which one to strike, he had no time to think so he commanded Blaze to strike the one on the left, but it was a fake. He begged his other pokemon to fight but they were still in love with their foe and ignored the orders.
The Charizard finally hit the real Delcatty with a Solar Beam inflicting a lot of damage, Roxy tried to keep on standing on her paws, she knew she couldn’t let her master down, but the pokemon eventually fell down after fainting.
Vi felt depressed for a few seconds, but then she noticed her pokemon wasn’t the only one on the floor, all of them were fainted, it wasn’t the Solar Beam that had knocked her out after all, it was the Perish Song.
Kamon felt confused about what happened he didn’t expect a battle like that, but then he realized what were the girl's intentions. With this tie up she had a total of 800 points and he had 200, in other words, he had no choice but to use only one pokemon on his next battle to be able to battle her again, otherwise she automatically gets the Golden Medal.
“Now that’s a strategical battle, it was the most intense minutes I have ever seen, will Kamon defeat Bren with just one pokemon? Let’s watch!” commented Dawn excited.
Both boys stepped into the arena, Kamon knew that with more pokemon he wouldn’t have trouble defeating his opponent but he had to choose only one, and so he sent in his male pokemon with the highest level of experience, Xen the Tyrogue.
Bren had no doubts in sending in his entire party again, he had only one opponent to defeat, he couldn’t get the first place but at least he could aim for the second. The ninja boy had trained hard during the previous weeks, so his pokemon were now stronger than before.
Kamon quickly ordered Xen to attack the Alakazam, since he was the one that could cause more danger to him, and so the pokemon obeyed with a Blaze Kick. However, the Shedinja sent a Confuse Ray towards his opponent, making him miss the hit and damage himself against a rock.
While the Tyrogue was still confused the shiny Alakazam attacked with Psybeam. It did give some damage, but it wasn't enough to take him down.
Bren ordered the Blaziken to attack, but on a face to face combat the Tyrogue had no trouble defending himself with several Protects and defeating his adversary with a Psybeam shaped like a kamehameha* wave.
After this Bren decided to use a similar strategy that Vanessa had used, commanding his Alakazam to cast a Future Sight strike.
Kamon wasn’t willing to let himself be fooled by the same thing twice so this time he made the pokemon use Endure to survive the upcoming attack, and after that he attacked both opponents with a Meteor Mash.
The Alakazam took a direct hit and fainted, but the Ghost pokemon was able to avoid it, striking back with another Confuse Ray.
Xen, confused, hit himself hard before snapping out of it and received the Future Sight attack, he survive all of that but he was reaching his limit.
He tried to finish the game by hitting the Shedinja with a Blaze Kick. However, before he could do so the Shedinja used Shadow Sneak, striking first and defeating the exhausted Tyrogue.
At first Kamon felt bad about losing, but he had given his best so there was nothing to regret.
“Now that’s what I call exciting, but it’s actually a pity we wont get to see Kamon and Vanessa have a rematch, oh well, the Orange Division ends with Vanessa gaining 800 points, Bren with 400 and Kamon with 200. Drew dear is now on his way to give this wonderful trainers their rewards. After that we’ll enter our last commercial break before the Purple Division, so stay tunned!” announced Harley.
~*~*~*~*~
“Finally we return with the last Division, you can feel the tension in the air between these players, so let’s stop torturing them, may the games begin!” announced Dawn.
The first match was between Darian and Gabriel, none of them seemed very nervous but they were both focused on each others movements. Apparently both players decided that using 3 pokemon would be the wisest choice, so Darian selected his Dragonite, his Blastoise and his Exeggutor. And Gabriel picked his loyal Blissey, his Wobbuffet and his Dusclops.
By now the arena was very damaged, but that wasn’t necessarily a bad thing and both trainers didn’t seem to care about that. Gabriel made the first move ordering his Blissey to cast a Thunder Wave on the Blastoise paralysing him.
To retaliate, Darian commanded his Dragonite to attack the Wobbuffet, hitting him with a Dragon Claw but receiving a Counter Attack in return.
For a long time every single move that one adversary made was retaliated by the other, and since their pokemon where all very experienced it was hard to tell who was winning. Until Darian’s Blastoise, Shelldon, expelled some sort of red light from his eyes that made Xion the Dusclops visible and vulnerable against a powerful Solar Beam from the Exeggutor, finally defeating him.
Lilena the Wobbuffet fought back but was defeat by the Dragonite. However, when she fainted she took along Draco with her, thanks to Destiny Bond.
Gabriel now had only his Blissey, while Darian still had two pokemon. Her defense was unbelievable, which made this the longest battle during this entire round, but still she was defeated in the end, giving Darian the first victory with 400 points.
“Damn, that was almost like a chess game, but it only shows that none of these players acts without thinking first. Darian gets the first victory so let’s see if Gabriel can turn things around in his match against Grim.” mentioned Harley.
When both players stepped into the arena they stared at each others clothing and giggled for a while. Grim was wearing a tight brown t-shirt that said “It’s my Boyish Charm”, while Gabriel had his white one with a large Blissey in the centre. In this round everybody knew the division every contestant was in so there was no need for the official clothing.
After returning to being serious both players greeted each other and grabbed their pokeballs, this time both of them chose to use only two pokemon. Grim’s team was composed by two debuting pokemon in the League, an Infernape and an Absol. While Gabriel decided to use his Flygon, and obviously his Blissey again.
Since the beginning of the match the battle was divided between the Infernape against the Blissey and the Absol versus the Flygon. They all seemed to be equally matched and that was proved when after a long battle both Helios, the Infernape, and Talia, the Blissey, fainted together. Apparently while the Blissey was being hit by a fierce Blaze Kick set of strikes she defended herself with an Ice Beam right across her opponents face, and so while she fainted from the damage, he fainted due to lack of air.
Grim quickly recalled Helios and gave him to Nurse Joy, but the show wasn’t over yet and Tsukihana was still fighting Merru the Flygon.
The Absol was trying to use the terrain to reach her opponent but it wasn’t an easy job, since the Flygon had a very good speed. However, Merru was also having a hard time attempting to strike the agile Absol.
This time the audience didn’t seem to be surprised about this match ending up with a draw, after all, even the crowd didn’t appear to know which of them they wanted to be victorious.
What happened in the end was that when the Flygon reached near the arena to cause an Earthquake, he got hit by a critical Psycho Cut, and since the Absol had the Super Luck ability, this wasn’t the first critical strike he had received. Afterwards none of them was able to remain on their feet, collapsing into the ground.
“I have never witnessed such an even match, I think a draw actually is a good finale for this battle, but now this leaves Darian ahead with 400 points, followed by Gabriel and Grim with 250. However, Grim can still turn all of this around in the last battle, so keep holding your breaths.” announced Drew.
Before the battle began a Mewtwo appeared next to Grim, he didn’t join the battle, but he remained next to her for support, the audience and the camera operators at first seemed more focused on him than in the battle itself.
Darian had already chosen to use the same pokemon team he had used in the last battle, which made Grim smile, at least now she knew the adversaries she was up against. But before that the girl had sent in her Blastoise, Jolteon and Ninetales.
The young man made the first move ordering his Blastoise to cover himself in mud, Grim later understood the reason for that, since now her Jolteon’s attacks didn’t seem to be doing as much damage as they should.
The opposite happened when the Dragonite quickly used one of his most powerful Thunder attacks to take Dalle, Grim's Blastoise, out of the competition.
To avenge his team mate Baby the Ninetales was able to set the Exeggutor on fire before he teleported himself, but that didn’t defeat him, and after that he was hit by a Hydro Pump sent by Shelldon.
When Grim was applying a Hyper Potion on Baby, Evel the Jolteon was left alone in battle, and unfortunately he was defeated by the Dragonite, but before that he managed to paralyze the large Blastoise, making him incapable to move for a while.
The Ninetales ran back into action, eventually defeating the slow Exeggutor with a Fire Spin that made him unable to escape. But after that battling against a Blastoise and a Dragonite was just too much for him, and the final battle of all eventually ended with Baby being defeated by a Water Pulse.
“Well well, I guess we have tie up in points now, that means Gabriel and Grim will have to battle once more to decide who gets the second place, the only difference is that this time both players can use only one pokemon, so choose wisely.” informed Harley.
Both players were now extremely nervous, it was now or never, their last chance. Gabriel finally picked a pokeball and noticed that Grim had already chosen too. At last both players launched their pokemon, unleashing Helios, Grim’s Infernape, and Merru, Gabriel’s Flygon.
The Infernape attacked first with several Fire moves in a row, because of that the Flygon seemed defeated but Gabriel was smiling. Using Roost Merru got back up fully healed and made his first move causing a massive Earthquake.
Both pokemon fought for a long time and the audience watched every move carefully, once again nobody was sure about who was going to be the winner, but the battle finally ended when the Flying pokemon risked to use his Draco Meteor strike. After the move Merru was too exhausted to move and landed on the arena to rest, but his opponent was already defeated and the final victory belonged to Gabriel.
The Crowd went wild and kept on cheering for all three players when Dawn handed over the Golden Medal to Darian, the Silver one to Gabriel and the Bronze to Grim. And all other contestants joined them in the podium for one large toast.
“Well ladies and gentleman it's been a pleasure but it seems it’s time for us to go now, I hope everyone enjoyed this round as much as we did, I think my fellow hosts will agree that it couldn’t have turned out any better.” said Drew smiling.
“Are you kidding me? There wasn’t any blood…AT ALL, but oh well, it was still great, all this trainers will have a bright future ahead of them. Here sweet cheeks announce the names of the winners.” complained Harley handing over the microphone to Dawn.
“Like Drew said it’s time for us to say goodbye, but before I’ll just remember the names of the trainers that will have a chance to fight the Elite Four in the next round. For the Blue Division…SAM! In the Yellow one…ALEX! JACK for the Green Division! TIPHANIE on the Red! VANESSA representing the Orange Division and finally DARIAN in the Purple one! Good luck to you all, but don’t worry you’ll do just fine!”
“Ok my loves before leaving your sweet souls I just wanted to say that even the third place is an awesome honour, think of all the opponents you defeated so far, go home and be proud of yourselves for reaching this point! GOODBYE EVERYBODY!!” finished Harley.
*Ends transmission*
“That was actually...nice of you…to say that Harley.” said Dawn surprised.
“Nah I was paid for that.” answered the extravagant man.
“By who?” complained Drew.
“Your wife!” laughed Harley, "No really! She did pay me to say this how lame is that twerp??" *gets punched*

Vi was in the middle of all players celebrating when she saw a lot of family and friends coming from the stadium entrance, and behind Susan that was running towards her brother she noticed a familiar face in the shadows.
“Volkner hey! Did you watch the battles?” asked the girl walking towards him.
“Off corse, not bad, all of you did great, I guess Hoenn is actually full of great trainers.”
“So…when are you going back to Sinnoh?”
“Right now, before going I just wanted to give up some tips about the Elite Four, that’s why I’m here.”
“Oh…I see…” she mumbled somewhat disappoint, “so you know who they are?”
“Yes, but that I can’t tell you. Vi do you know why this is the only League where you don’t need to battle the Champion in the end?” asked the Gym Leader.
“Because they’re all dead or missing?”
“Yeah that too…but it’s actually because this Elite Four is stronger than normal. In other regions every member is specialized in a Type, just like Flint masters Fire and Lucian uses Psychic Types. But in here every member uses Diversity, just like most champions do, that’s why they’re all so strong.”
“I see…”
“Try having a large variety of types in your party and prepare yourself for anything, that’s the best advice I can give you.”
“Thanks.”
“Goodbye kid, see ya in Sinnoh.” said the young man kissing her forehead.
“I’ll be there…*blushes*”

*Green Division winners stay away from Harley trying to kiss them*
