Chapter 15
‘choice’
He shut his eyes, and jumped.
Gravity rushed to claim Touya, but he never hit the floor. When the expected impact didn’t occur he opened his eyes and found he was still falling, the three-dimensional maze disintegrating all around him and everything fading to black. Sakura was nowhere to be seen. Still he fell for what seemed an impossibly long time, finally landing gently as a feather on a surface shrouded in mist. The maze, the castle, his sister, everything was gone. Everything but Yue, his long silver hair disappearing in the low mist, wings unfolded and flowing past his body like a billowing cloak of feathers. Radiating power and beauty, he closed in on Touya and the dark-haired teen lifted his chin stubbornly.
It was time for the final reckoning.
“I won,” Touya declared, his voice low. “And you know it.”
“Do I?”
“You threw everything you had at me, your labyrinth, your soldiers, your deceptions, you even turned my own sister against me and I fought back, I beat you.”
Yue’s eyes gleamed suggestively. “You were not always fighting.”
moaning, writhing under his touch and arching his back against the waiting hardness
Touya had to swallow, and this time it was Yue who licked his lips.
“You did everything in your power to keep me from winning, but I did it anyway.”
“I underestimated your strength of will,” Yue acknowledged, thoughtfully, as if the subject was of no more than passing interest. “Or perhaps, your love for your sister. Your tenacity is admirable. Nothing less from the one I have chosen.”
Touya stiffened slightly. “What, do I look like him or something? Why me?”
“Because we were meant for one another, Toya, you know this. I have been waiting for you for many lifetimes, just as I know you’ve been waiting for me all yours. This love is something only we can share.”
He stood so much closer now, his nearness intoxicating. Touya tried to control his breathing and glared defensively.
“Did you really think you could make me love you by making me your prisoner?”
“I know,” Yue murmured, “that you love me. I feel it, all over you.” His eyes glowed coldly and Touya fell into them, in spite of his better judgement. They were too beautiful to resist, those eyes, always they held him captive. “Admit that it is so.”
It had been a bad idea, to look into his eyes like that. Now they reclined against Yue’s satin pillows, and Yue traced his fingertips lightly up Touya’s bare chest, possessively, leaving a trail of fire in their wake. Involuntarily Touya bucked and tipped his chin up.
“I love you,” he gasped, the words escaping his lips almost of their own accord. But it was the truth and Yue purred sensuously in victory, hand caressing Touya’s exposed throat.
“Always?” he whispered, and at the pointed query part of Touya’s mind woke up. He rolled away from Yue and stood up, facing the misty void again.
“What do you mean, always?”
“Just as it sounds.” Those wings folded over his shoulders but this time he didn’t flinch, feeling Yue’s body press against his back and his heart beat faster in response. Again his cool hands brushed over Touya’s neck, igniting thrills of pleasure and Touya closed his eyes, compliantly allowing Yue to tilt his head to one side. Delicately Yue lowered his teeth to his neck and bit, for the second time but this time for real, eliciting a whimper from Touya. He did not fight it, unthinkable to fight it because it felt so good. Yue’s lips closed over his skin and he sucked hard, bruising him, claiming him.
Now that I’ve had you, you can never go to another, he whispered in Touya’s mind. We can have what we shared tonight every night, I can take you to places in your mind you never dreamed existed. I can make your world explode in pleasure, leave you broken and gasping and still you will beg for more.
He withdrew his lips from Touya’s neck and trailed them up and over his ear. “All this can be yours if you only say the words. You know how wonderful it will be.”
Dreamily Touya opened his eyes, almost too limp to stand and his thoughts a chaotic blur of passion. Wonderful? Kami-sama he wanted Yue so bad it hurt. So why wasn’t he underneath Yue right now, why was he still holding back?
…say the words…
The offer drifted again through his mind and some of those thoughts collected. “You need me to promise,” he said slowly, “don’t you? You don’t have the power to keep me here against my will.” He took a step to put some distance between them but Yue clutched at his arm, his grip every bit as strong as Touya had sensed it would be. He did not try to wrest his arm free but he did not capitulate either, his chin high, meeting Yue’s gaze directly.
“You know you want this, Toya, you know you were meant to be with me.”
“Do I?” Touya asked, in unconscious echo of Yue. The king swept his other arm out and Touya found himself looking over the labyrinth, with its tangled passages and exotic creatures and puzzles that could probably never all be solved, fascinating even in spite of the danger.
“That mundane world you call home is not where you belong, Toya. The magic and power than runs within you deserves more, deserves this. Say the words and you can rule it with me. You will lack for nothing, answer to no one.”
Touya looked down at the hand still gripping his arm. “I’d answer to you, though.”
“I can give you anything you desire.”
“No,” Touya corrected quietly, “you can’t. You can’t give me freedom.” They both knew that, knew he couldn’t offer anything that couldn’t one day be taken away. For this was his kingdom and everything belonged to him in one way or another. “Must you own me just to be with me?”
The labyrinth faded away again and Yue brought his hand up to cradle Touya’s face. “Why do you still fight me, Toya? You know I could never hurt you, would do anything for you. Promise to be mine forever, and we will know such a love that could never be rivalled.” His eyes glowed silver again and Touya made his choice.
Hungrily, desperately, passionately he captured Yue’s mouth with his and kissed him. The king responded with force, molding his body against his and ensconcing them both within his wings. It became a battle for dominance as each strove to take control of the kiss, struggling even as they moaned in delight. And when they finally parted for air, gasping and dizzy, Touya knew he’d chosen right.
Yue could never concede control.
“I love you,” he said again, voice husky with emotion. “But I belong to no one. I will not promise to be yours.”
An explosive crack, like the sound of shattering glass, echoed in his head and he glimpsed Yue’s stricken expression before the king disappeared in a swirl of feathers. Pain exploded in his chest and he numbly he grasped at one, his vision blurring with the burn of unshed tears. Everything fell away into darkness, and an unseen clock chimed insistently.
One… Something solidified under his feet and he almost buckled, remaining upright with effort. His heart ached and he knew that loud crack had been the sound of Yue’s breaking. Two…
Never wanted to hurt him, Touya cried silently. Shapes and colors clarified, resolved into the familiar picture of his own living room. Three…
I loved him. He loved me. Four… But for every heartbeat it would just be a lie. Five… You can’t enslave what you love.
Six… The clock in the corner finished sounding the hour, and Touya was home again. Somewhere behind him, a door shut.
“Touya-kun?” He whirled around at his name, still breathing heavily, and met the surprised gaze of his father. “Tadaima. You’re up awfully early. You weren’t worried, were you?”
It was too rapid, the sudden shift back to normality, and Touya could only open his mouth and shut it helplessly. His father was shaking his head in chagrin as he slipped off his coat. “I know I said I would be home by midnight, but one thing led to another… next thing I knew I was waking up in my office just a few minutes ago. I really am sorry. I do spend a lot of time at work, don’t I?”
“Uh…” Touya finally managed.
“And I do ask you for a lot, I know it. I really appreciate it, though, I couldn’t do this without your help.”
For the first time he took a good look at his son and frowned. “Touya-kun? What on earth happened to your clothes? You look like you’ve been mountain climbing in them, they’re a mess. And is that some kind of bruise on your neck?”
“Well, um -”
“And shouldn’t you be in your uniform anyway? Today is a school day, isn’t it?”
“Er -”
“Better go and get changed. I’ll make breakfast. Is your sister up yet? I better go check.” He made a move toward the stairs and Touya practically lunged to intercept him, blocking his path.
“No!”
“Excuse me?”
“I mean, I’ll check on her. I- I don’t mind.” Fujitaka’s brow creased quizzically, but Touya didn’t give him a chance to question him and hurried up the stairs. His heart pounded in his chest. Would she be there? What if- what if-
He turned the knob and pushed quietly. The clouds from the storm the night before had been swept away, and pale morning sunlight streamed into the room, illuminating his sister’s sleeping face. He nearly collapsed with relief and entered her room, sitting on the edge of her bed. She looked so peaceful, innocent, in need of protection. Touya would never be so careless again, never lose her to anyone. She was the most precious thing in his life.
“Sakura,” he whispered, stroking her tangled hair back from her face. “Wake up. We have to go to school today.” The thought of it made him groan inwardly, but what kind of excuse would he give his father? At least he had no tests to worry about.
She stirred slightly under his touch and murmured his name, and tenderly his heart stirred at the sound.
“Sakura, time to get up.” This time her eyes opened and focused on him, blinking.
“Onii-chan?”
“That’s right. How do you feel, can you get up?” She squirmed under her blanket to sit more upright.
“I had the strangest dream…”
“I know.”
“I was in a castle, and there was a man with wings.” She patted the material of her pajamas, looking confused, and then her hand found the dangling diamond choker at her throat. “This- it wasn’t a dream, was it?”
“No. But you can’t tell Dad, all right? It’s a secret, just between you and me.”
She smiled tentatively at the thought of sharing something so important with her big brother. “It was a nice place, Onii-chan. I made friends there.”
“Yeah. I did too.”
“Can we ever go back?” The light was getting better, and he watched it reflect off the gem as she fondled it between fingertips. A parting gift?
“I don’t know,” he answered honestly. He uncurled his fingers and looked at the snowy white feather in his hand. “Maybe.” He stood up and ruffled her messy hair with affection. “But right now you need to get dressed. Dad’s making breakfast downstairs and I think I smell pancakes.”
Her eyes lit up. “Goody!”
He grinned and left the room, shoulders sagging from exhaustion. It was going to be a long day. And he was so filthy. Right now all he could think of was shower.
He trudged down the hall and into the bathroom, not bothering to turn on the light. There was no part of him that wasn’t sore, and carefully he pulled off the torn shirt. His father was right, there was a small bruise visible on his neck. Evidence of Yue’s claim.
just the two of them, meant to be, always, forever
Touya’s fingertips brushed over the bite, every remembered touch burned into his skin and refusing to fade away. The heady sensations swirled in his mind and already he knew they’d be returning in force in his dreams. Such a love could not so easily be discarded.
“See you,” he whispered, “tonight.”
Yue smiled.
THE END
At least… sort of the end. A little vague? Perhaps. But the movie itself didn’t give me much to work with, and yeah a sequel would be cool but those are big shoes to fill… plus I swore I’d start working on original stuff, didn’t I? Oh yeah.
Well, anyway it was fun! Labyrinth was, in fact, the most fun project I’ve ever worked on, perhaps because the movie did most of the stressful plot work and let me concentrate on dialogue and fun characterization bits. I normally disapprove of these fusion-style fanfics, because it’s so rare to see one done that preserves the characters, but once the idea snuck into my brain, it refused to go. And it was fun! Plus, as we all know here, it spawned a hitherto undiscovered fetish on my part for Yue to make Touya his bitch.
As you’ve no doubt figured out, Pleasure Slave was really nothing more than a (600 page long) urge to ‘fix’ the ending of the Labyrinth so that this time Yue gets his happy ending and gets to keep Touya with him. Labyrinth had to end the way it did, the principles of freedom-is-a-right-not-a-privilege blahdie blah was too important to sacrifice, even to nakedy yaoi goodness. PS, however, was longer and Touya and Yue had a much more complex relationship, which allowed me to work in the freedom message and still keep the sex. Joy. I’m really into the whole freedom message thing, you guys have probably noticed that if you’ve read any of my ff.net stuff. Libertarians rock.
So, I hope you guys enjoyed this little fling. It probably doesn’t compare to PS, but it does have some elements that its flashy sibling does not – more Touya/Li facetime, which is always good bickering fun, a cameo for Ruby and Spinel, and a more action-driven plot. Yue is a lot more secure and confident in this story, also, having already grown out of his childish I-only-love-Clow mentality, and apparently convinced that Touya’s in love with him and only needs that realization to get beaten into him over the course of the night. The big downside is that Syaoran and Sakura never actually meet, so if I ever did tackle a Labyrinth – The Revenge, it would probably feature those two. (Needless to say, it would be set a few years later so that they would be, ah, ‘mature’ enough to fulfill the love plot.) But sequels are tricky things, most pro Hollywood writers can’t even handle them, and I wouldn’t just be sequeling my story but a beloved Henson production as well. So I guess I’d need a lot more inspiration for that than I currently possess.
