“Never would have seen that one coming if you asked me.” He said and tilted his head to the side.
“Kyo are you scared?” Haru asked holding his hand lightly in his own.
Kyo started chuckling as he sat there. “I am terrified.” He said when he calmed. “Never been more terrified in my life.”
“Even when you jumped?” Haru asked worried.
“I’ll let you in on a secret Haru.” He said seriously holding his hand tightly. “Dying isn’t scary it’s the living that is. The not knowing what’s going to happen tomorrow or anything like that. Knowing that people want to get rid of you for who you are.” He took a deep breath. “What you had no choice to be.” He sighed. “I’d rather be the one they called a dumb cow.”
“Still hurts.” Haru said softly. “I know I’m not dumb. But thinking about it, it still hurts my feelings.”
“I know.” Kyo said very softly. “I remembered you yelled at Yuki you weren’t dumb. Your eyes large and filled with tears. I happened to walk past the room when that happened. I lifted my head up and caught that look before I was yelled at and drug away.” He smiled. “You were so cute.”
“I’m still cute.” He said with a huff.
“Yes you are.” He whispered and smiled a little. “And I’m happy that I have a second chance with you.” He said but then coughed a little. “Will you help me learn how to walk again?” he asked.
“You can count on me.” Haru smiled and looked over his face. He saw the worried look on his face and reached up to cup his cheek. “You got me Kyo and I’ll help you.” He leaned forward and kissed
“Thank you. I don’t deserve it but thank you.” Kyo smiled shakily.
