Chapter 16
“WHAT?!” The scream echoed off the walls, making their ears ring from the sheer volume. “How the hell could I lose to some little wimp?!”
“Nimh, you got that ‘I wanna kiss him till he passes out’ look again...” Kedri commented, amused. Nimh blinked, returning to reality, and wiped the drool away onto a sleeve.
“I can’t help it, he just looks so freakin’ kissable when he’s all determined...”
“Well if you lost to me, I must not be such a wimp, am I right?” He was thoughtfully silent for a moment. “I do believe you said you wouldn’t show your face here ever again if you lost. Shouldn’t you be leaving?”
But the trainer wasn’t listening. He only glared, seething in rage. He watched as Wally tended to his fainted Pokémon with love and care. Why? Why did he always have to lose to bleeding hearts like them? He trained his Pokémon to be the toughest there could possibly be, and yet he continued to lose.
He noticed Feraligatr pushing itself off the floor. So, it could still fight... Consumed by his rage, he gave his most favored Pokémon the last command he would ever give.
“Snap that little bitch in two.”
Wally barely had time to blink before he found himself being crushed in Feraligatr’s strong arms. Nimh and Kedri shouted in alarm and started beating on the Pokémon’s thick hide, but to no avail. They couldn’t use any of their own Pokémon either; it would only hurt Wally as well.
The boy wheezed and gasped, trying to get some air back into his lungs, but the Pokémon’s tight grip wouldn’t allow it. Black started creeping in at the edge of his vision, and he could swear he heard something crack. Finally something slammed into the Feraligatr with enough force to knock the wind from it, and it dropped Wally.
Nimh rubbed his shoulder, watching as Kedri knelt down by Wally to check on him. “Something broke, I heard it... Nimh, I know you don’t want to do this, but we have to take him to a hospital.”
“No.” Nimh growled. “They won’t be able to do a damned thing for him, other than make him comfortable. We’re taking him back to your house, Doc can look after him just as well. I need to get going, I’ve got no time left.” Kedri sighed and called for the police, glancing back at Nimh’s Groudon keeping both the trainer and Feraligatr pinned to the Gym floor.
“I should’ve had him arrested a long time ago...” he sighed sadly.
