I Belong With My Heart
Title: I Belong with my Heart
Author: Jigoku no Miko
Author’s Quote: Can you tell me wher I might find fallen horses? Their spirits they fly blinded by the whiteness.
“If only Chichiri was here.” Miaka sighed sitting in the grass next to Taka.
“Da!” Chichiri, Kana and Tama all appeared as if on cue.
“Chichiri! Tama! Kana…” Miaka cried
“Another weirdo?” Taka looked at Chichiri confused. Miaka stood and approached Kana with an intense glare embedded in her eyes before slugging the girl.
“Itai.” Kana moaned rolling over in the grass and holding her nose.
“Miaka?” Taka whispered wondering why she had been so violent.
“You! How could you do that to everyone!? Just up and leave! Me, Yui, Dani… Keisuke! We were all your friends and you just leave us all behind like some foreign memory!” Miaka yelled as Kana sat up and listened to the truth. “You couldn’t even tell Dani yourself you coward!!! Your nothing but a lowly coward Kana! I know your name means heartache but why do you have to force it off on everyone else? He cried for so hard, for so long…” Taka, hearing the name realized who Kana was and looked at her wide-eyed.
“Miaka, I can understand you being mad Miaka. If I were you I’d be mad at me too but I belong here not in that world this is where my life is along with my heart.” Kana whispered as Chichiri helped her up.
“Chichiri…?” Miaka whispered looking at the man questioningly as he removed Kana’s hand from her face to look at the damage worriedly. “You two… are… together?” She whispered in shock.
“Two years almost no da.” Chichiri whisperd before walking over to Tasuki.
“Oh boy.” Miaka sweatdropped before her thinking was interrupted by Chichiri yelling at Tasuki.
“Hurry up and get it out.” Chichiri kneeled next to Tasuki and began frisking him looking for something.
“Hey cut it out watch what you’re grabbing! What are you looking for anyway?” Tasuki yelled.
“Getting this no da.” Chichiri held out a small blue stone.
“Oh that.”
“What is that?” Miaka questioned.
“Tamahome take this in your hand.” Chichiri held the jewel out towards Taka.
“What are you doing he’s talking to you.” Tasuki stated.
“Oh me.” Taka took the jewel in his hand and looked over it intrequitly.
“Chichiri this isn’t Tamahome now his name is Taka Sukunami.” Miaka explained.
“Doesn’t matter either way.” Chichiri shrugged before a blue light emitted from the stone and Taka received his memories of Tasuki.
“I remember now… Tasuki, what’s the big idea saying I groped Miaka like that I almost believed you!” Taka yelled grabbing Tasuki by the collar.
“Oh some big moving reunion this is and what’s the big idea grabbing my collar like that?” Tasuki yelled back.
“Chichiri what was that stone?” Miaka questioned.
“Tamahome’s jewel of memory.”
“Jewel of Memory?”
“The last time, in order for Tamahome to go to your world we sealed his memories of this one into seven stones, that was one of them.” Chichiri explained.
“Leave it to Tasuki not to realize what to do.” Kana shrugged.
“That happened two years ago why WOULDN’T you remember?” Tasuki yelled as him and Taka continued in their quarrel.
“I see so two years have passed here.” Miaka whispered to herself.
“We’d better go to the source.” Chichiri stated before holding up his hat.
“Huh?” Miaka tilted her head in confusion.
“I’ve got my jewel of memory here to.” He stated before throwing his hat up, the next thing they all knew they were at Mt. Tikyoku.
“This is Mount Tikyoku.” Miaka whispered.
“It’s no use, this place, I don’t remember it.” Taka whispered shaking his head.
“Tamahome have you forgotten me as well?” A ghost form of Hotohori questioned.
“Oh how cold.” Nuriko put a hand on his cheek.
“Tasuki too it’s been too long.” Chiriko cried.
“It’s been a long time have you been well?” Mitsukake added.
“Hotohori, Nuriko, Mitsukake, Chiriko, guys!” Miaka cried running to hug the other four but finding herself lying on the ground.
“Oh come on did you forget that we’re dead?” Nuriko rolled his eyes.
“She hasn’t changed a bit.” Chiriko shook his head.
“You aren’t hurt are you?” Mitsukake questioned.
“AH!… SAND WITCH!” Taka cried in the background before latching onto Tasuki.
“He hasn’t changed either.” Nuriko muttered looking up to see Taiitsukun.
“Who are you calling a sand witch?” Taiitsukun questioned annoyed.
“To bad you lost your memories, gonna take you a while to get used to her again.” Tasuki chuckled.
“Taiitsukun!” Miaka cried happily.
“So you and Tamahome were able to meet again after his rebirth eh Miaka?” Taiitsukun assumed before Taka found himself in more flashbacks.
“I fought, was wounded all for Miaka’s sake how could I have forgotten that?” Taka whispered remembering who Chichiri was.
“That one just now was my jewel.” Chichiri stated clearing Miaka’s confusion.
“So if you return all of them to Taka he’ll get all of his memories back?” Miaka cried turning to face her four dead seishi.
“I’m sorry Miaka but we don’t have the others.” Nuriko whispered shaking her head.
“I’ll explain why, there are seven jewels of memory in all, So far two have been returned to Tamahome.” Taiitsukun stated the obvious.
“Mine and Chichiri’s.” Tasuki chimed in.
“Exactly because both of you are still alive, however Hotohori and the others haven’t been able to be reborn in the forms they desire. All because an evil demons life force is interfering with it.” She explained.
“A demons power?” Miaka echoed.
“So what happens if we can’t find the stones?” Tasuki questioned.
“If we don’t find them it’s okay but if the demon somehow obtained them before we did than…” Taiitsukun trailed off.
“If he doesn’t gather the stones than…” Miaka urged her to finish the statement.
“If he remains with out his memories and the demons power increases than Tamahome will disappear.” Taiitsukun finished as Taka looked at her confused.
“I’ll disappear?” Taka echoed before bright beams of pink light began shooting from the ground causing the whole mountain to shake.
“What the…” Tasuki muttered.
“It’s an earthquake.” Chiriko stated.
“Mt. Tikyoku is…” Hotohori stuttered.
“Taiitsukun what’s happening?” Nuriko cried.
“This much… he’s gathered this much power already?” Taiitsukun whispered before an explosion rang behind her, Miaka ran towards Taiitsukun to try and save her.
“Taiitsukun!” Miaka cried.
“Miaka!” Tasuki yelled running towards Miaka and throwing her to the ground, the next thing he knew they were in water. Tasuki brought the two to the top and rested Miaka on the edge of the lake but noticed that she wasn’t breathing.
“Miaka? Come on wake up.” He cried before giving her mouth to mouth recessatation. Soon after Miaka began coughing up water as Tasuki held her before Chichiri sat a hand over his making Tasuki jump.
“Dammit Chichiri don’t scare me like that!” Tasuki yelled jumping back into the middle of the lake.
“Chichiri.” Miaka whispered.
“We’re safe now no da.” Chichiri reassured her.
“Miaka!” Taka yelled emerging from the woods.
“Taka!” Miaka cried in return standing up before Taka embraced her.
“Are you okay?” Taka questioned.
“Yeah fine.” Miaka responded.
“Where are the others?” Tasuki questioned.
“Scattered around a bit but okay. Taiitsukun used her holy powers to fly us out of there.” Chichiri explained as Kana stumbled out into the grass by the lake and fell to her knees.
“From inside that explosion?” Miaka questioned.
“Mt. Tikyoku is covered by dark clouds and looks terribly different now.” Chichiri whispered.
“So where are we now?” Taka questioned.
“Lake Taichi in Konan.” Chichiri answered.
“Kana you don’t look so good are you okay?” Miaka questioned noticing how pale the girl had gotten. Kana had managed to get to her feet even though pain was ripping at her from every direction.
“I’m… I’m fine I just feel a little weak that’s all, *groan*” She whispered before falling back to the ground luckily Chichiri caught her before she hit the ground.
“Kana? Kana?” He called softly.
“I’ll be okay, really the fall must have knocked the wind out of me or something.” Kana whispered attempting to stand but falling back to lean on Chichiri’s shoulder.
“Stop moving around.” Chichiri whispered picking her up.
“The palace… lets go to the palace, first we have to find the other jewels. We can’t let some demon beat us.” Miaka stated.
“Miaka…” Taka whispered amazed to hear her take charge so easily.
“Right, Tasuki!” Chichiri whispered.
“Right leave it to me!” Tasuki yelled from the middle of the lake putting his arm up in a fist.
“Tasuki, since when do you know how to swim?” Chichiri questioned before Tasuki sweat-dropped and sunk. After Tasuki managed to climb out of the lake Chichiri transported them to the palace.
