Disclaimer: I do not own Trinity Blood, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story. |
Darkephoenix: Yeah, it came out sweeter than I meant it to. I was going for more raunchy, but it didn't work. >.< I must look up this weiss kruz of which you speak. And yay for passing finals! With As no less! I failed half my classes because I'm a loser. I should drop out and save myself some money. Lost cause, really. Yeah, Watari and Tatsumi really hit the spot. I just finished volume 8 and Tsuzuki's whole emo trip about not wanting to die really got to me. when he's talking to Hisoka and he says "I'm so tired" I was like..... hmm... I'm been saying that myself for a while. I just wanted to hug tsuzuki. *feels bad* Moving on.... here's more of my crap. We always update on the same day, so I figured if I update maybe you'll update! YAY!
DarkCrusnikMagician: I'm glad you liked it, cause it wasn't my favorite. TOTALLY READ HELLSING! Alucard is hotness.... mmmm.... sexy vamps. Thanks and don't worry, the next chapters are riddled with my own characters and TB guys.
Min: Thanks for the praise! Glad you liked it. There was a general consensus early on that nobody really wanted to see the two of them together, and I never really planned to have them get together. I just planned on him placing some sexual tension on our main characters. Well, on just about everyone really, because Alucard oozes sex. Have fun with that pie and enjoy the chapter!
winterfrau: I try to make him witty, but not being witty myself, it's kinda hard sometimes. I have my golden one liners once in a great while, but to write someone else who's like that all the time is slightly trying. Sorry you didn't find the pairing all that great, but nobody wanted AlexxAlu. Lord knows I couldn't be around Alucard for a thousand years and not jump his sexy bones. She is a female after all. Yeah, the big blow up with Isaak (coming soon) is going to be so fab. I love it. What do you mean about Isaak's gloves? Read on and enjoy!
WARNING: There is very mild adult behavior between Aurora and Tres and while I'm sure most of you will take it as an "awww sweet" sort of thing, I do respect that for some people this may be an uncomfortable subject. Therefore I am warning you now DO NOT READ this chapter if you do not wish to read about the emotional/physical desires of someone contained in the body of an 8/9 year old. It is mild, but it is there. ALSO, there is some interaction between Cen and Rius and though it is mild and not altogether sexual, I am warning you now! This chapter is purely for character development and if you chose not to read, you won't really be missing anything.
Chapter 17: Brother Dearest
Tres sat in the darkened bedroom listening to the children’s breathing patterns as they slept. Upon first consideration, he could only make out two distinct patterns: Aurora’s soft breaths, and the heavier breathing of one of her brothers. Tres couldn’t quite make out which brother and began to wonder at the heaviness in the second pattern when he realized that it was so because the boys were breathing perfectly in synch. Tres smiled, looking over all the children. Aurora lay on her back, her arms and legs cast widely about her, and her brothers lay with their backs pressed firmly together, they’re legs bent at the exact same angle, their feet tangled together. Tres sat and considered the boys further, wondering at how different and how similar they could be, in given situations and circumstances. He wondered if they would be that close for the rest of their lifetimes.
Aurora stirred and Tres was immediately alert, his gaze darted over her figure. She sat up in bed, rubbing her eyes groggily, turning to Tres.
“Tres?”
“Yes, Aurora?” She leveled a far more alert gaze on him at the proper use of her name. She hopped out of bed and stalked over toward him, looking very much like a jungle cat, her eyes locked steadily on his. She clambered into his lap and curled against his chest, nuzzling into the front of his robes.
“I missed you.” Her quiet confession caused a tightening in Tres’s chest and he held her tighter in response.
“I missed you too, Little Love.”
“We haven’t had time to really talk since we came to visit.”
“I know, and I’m sorry. Your Mother is having a hard time of things right now and we are all trying to let her do what she thinks is best. Rosen Creuz has made their appearance again and your Mother fears for your safety.”
“That’s why she’s been watching us at night.” Aurora’s tiny fingers were playing with the gold cross dangling from his priest’s collar. He smiled down at her curiously contemplative state and threaded his fingers into her hair. Aurora nuzzled into his hand, her eyes flashing up brightly at him.
“I was floored when she asked me to watch over you three tonight.”
“I’m glad she did.” Aurora’s fingers began tracing all the clasps on the front of his uniform.
“Me too.” Tres leaned down to gain her attention, his hands coming up to cradle her face. She smiled up at him a little sadly, closing her eyes as they began to glisten. Tres pressed his lips to hers in a gentle kiss filled with longing. As he pulled away to look down at her, she began undoing the clasps of his uniform.
“Little One, what are you doing?” Tres grew a little nervous at the sight of her opening his uniform and pushing the flaps aside to expose his chest. When her warm little body pressed into his skin, all worry melted away and he held her tightly, leaning his cheek against the top of her head.
“I’m sorry, Tres.”
“Sorry for what, Love?”
“Sorry I’m not a grown woman, that I can’t give you what a grown woman can give you.” Tres sighed quietly at the tremor in her voice, hating the misery her small size brought her, the misery he couldn’t erase.
“Don’t ever be sorry for who and what you are, Aurora. I wouldn’t have you any other way.” She pushed off his chest a little, looking up at him almost accusingly.
“You’re saying you wouldn’t want me to be a grown woman? You’re telling me you’re not even slightly curious about what your body can feel?”
“No, I wouldn’t want you to be grown. I get to watch you grow, I get to be there for all your important milestones, all the important events in your childhood. I know what my body can feel and I’m curious about it, but I don’t want just anybody to satisfy my curiosity.” Tres cradled her face once again, his thumb rubbing her cheek comfortingly. She dropped her gaze to his chest, growing quiet.
“You don’t want to be with someone like Mommy?” Tres’s face was painted with a mixture of irritation, at himself, and sadness at her doubt.
“Your Mother is beautiful, Aurora, I will not lie to you. When the Professor first changed my programming to be more lifelike, I was quite taken with her. I guess you could say she was my first crush.” Aurora sniffled at his words and he pulled her close, hurrying to finish his thought before she shut him out and stopped listening. “But you, my Little Love, are my first love. You, whose eyes hold such intelligence and wonder at the world around her. Aurora, I cannot tell you enough how much I care for you.”
“Do you mean it, Tres?”
“Yes, Love.” Aurora buried herself in his chest, covering his skin in small butterfly kisses. Tres rocked her gently, speaking softly, comfortingly, in her ear. “Don’t cry, Love.”
“I’m sorry.” Aurora’s sniffles quickly faded, her kisses losing steam. She sat quiet against his chest, listening to the machinery in his body working. She pulled away to see the trails her blood tears left on his chest. She looked up into his face, blushing slightly in the dark, and before he could ask her what she was thinking, she was leaning against his chest. Tres watched her in shock as her little pink tongue darted out to lap at the twin trails staining his chest. Tres sighed blissfully, his eyes closed, his head falling back.
The warm moisture left in her wake made his skin tingle, a new sensation he decided immediately that he liked very much. When she stopped, her warmth pulling away from him, he looked down at her, sitting in his lap with a look of complete innocence. She really had no idea what she’d done to him. He smiled at her, his fingers ghosting over her cheek again. She sat up on her knees, throwing her arms around his neck, covering it in little kisses. He squeezed her tightly, fighting the feelings those kisses produced, knowing they would only fuel her heartache. She leaned up and whispered in his ear, making him shiver.
“I wish I could be a grown woman for you.” Tres smiled bitterly at their situation and her ardor for him.
“And I wish you could drink from me and that I could give you children, but we are strange creatures, Dearest. We only have what we are given and we can’t change that. You will be grown someday, but I will never be a real man.”
“You are a real man, Tres. You have feelings and you are capable of love. That’s real enough for me.” Aurora hugged him tightly and he stood with her, creating a seat for her with his arm.
“Let’s go sit in the garden, shall we?” Aurora nodded and he smiled, stepping out of the room silently. Tres found a garden bench not far from the door to the children’s room and sat down with Aurora. She curled up in his lap with her back to his chest and they looked up at the stars, connecting them to create shapes and then inventing stories about them. Aurora was soon giggling at Tres’s preposterous stories and had forgotten her earlier sadness altogether. He marveled at her wonderful dichotomy, how she could be so child-like and sweet one moment, but a passionate adult trapped in a child’s body the next. He hugged her close and listened intently to her lovely inventive stories, making the most of every minute of their time together.
As the door closed behind Tres and Aurora, Cendricus sat up to look over his shoulder at his brother. Ilarius’s breathing was even, quiet, but Cen knew better. He rolled over, pressing his chest against Ilarius’s back, his arm draped over his brother’s waist.
“Rius.” He breathed into his brother’s ear, hoping that at least his irritation would make him wake. Ilarius sighed, shifting uncomfortably, trying to distance himself from his brother and avoid the confrontation ahead. “Rius.” Cen shook the silver-haired boy as he spoke.
“What is it, Cen?”
“I just want to talk.” Cen tightened his grip on his brother’s waist, nuzzling into his shoulder placatingly.
“You never just want to talk. You escalate everything into a fight.”
“Not tonight. Just talk to me, please?” Cen’s voice had softened into a pleading tone that Ilarius had heard all too often.
“Fine. What do you want?”
“So hostile. What do you really think about Abel?” Cen hooked his chin over his brother’s shoulder, the better to listen to his reply. Ilarius was quiet for a few moments, thinking before he answered.
“I think he’s a good guy. Mom said they had a big misunderstanding and that’s why she left. I know that there’s probably more to it than that, but he’s trying now. He tries so hard to be a part of our lives and even Aurora’s. She’s not even his kid.”
“No, he wants to be a part of your life, and everyone loves Aurora, that’s nothing new.”
“He wants to be a part of your life too, Cen.”
“How do you know? Did you ask him?” Ilarius elbowed his brother as soon as the words fell from his lips.
“This is what I’m talking about. Everything has to turn into a competition or a challenge from you. Can’t you trust my judgement? Mother agrees with me and he’s been polite no matter how much you goad him.” Cen was quiet for a moment, pulling himself up against Ilarius’ back once more.
“I’m sorry, Rius. I didn’t mean to be bullheaded.” Cen nuzzled his shoulder blade again, brushing his lips over the little bit of neck exposed by the collar of Ilarius’ shirt. Ilarius sighed, covering Cen’s hand with his.
“Forget it, Cen. Just... let’s talk about something else, ok?”
“Like what?”
“I don’t know.”
“All right.” The boys were silent for some moments before Cen pulled away, his fingers brushing over Ilarius’ hip as he rolled over, pressing his back to him again. Cendricus sighed to himself, wondering if something was wrong with him, if he was just the strange child, when the bed shifted with Ilarius’ weight. Cendricus was expecting his brother to get up and leave, the tension between them often stifling, but was surprised to find Ilarius’ chest pressed against his back.
“Don’t be angry with me, Cen. Sometimes I just don’t know what to say to you when we’re so close in everything we do. I worry it will sound redundant.” Ilarius nuzzled his brother’s shoulder, mimicking his earlier actions.
“I could never truly be angry with you, Rius. I can never stay made when I look at you.” Cen rolled over to face his brother, wrapping his arms around his neck. The two considered one another in the dark, Ilarius blushing furiously. Cen cradled Ilarius’s cheek in the palm of his hand, the warmth astounding him. Ilarius let his gaze drop, wandering anywhere but his brother’s eyes.
“It’s wrong, how close we are.” Cen was taken aback by his brother’s words.
“Don’t say that.” Cen brushed his fingers over his brother’s lips, his face painted with a look of deep hurt.
“Do you know any other brothers that are as close as we are? Do you know any brothers our age that share the same bed and can’t sleep without the other?”
“We have been together our whole lives, it’s only natural that it’s hard to be apart. Besides, what other twins do you know?” Ilarius fell quiet, knowing Cen was right.
“Still, I’m sure it would disturb others.”
“Who cares what others think? We are brothers, closer to each other than anyone else.”
“Actually, we’re closer genetically to either our Father or our Mother than we are to each other.” Cen rolled his eyes at Ilarius’ usual logical argument.
“That isn’t what I meant, Rius. Besides, it’s not like we’ve done anything gross. We just sleep in the same bed.”
“And we hold each other.” Ilarius tightened his grip on his brother’s waist, nuzzling into an arm.
“So?” Cen kept to his argument that they were special and had a special bond. “You worry too much about the people around you. You should worry about what you think and what I think, because we’re as close as two people get. We are essentially the same.”
“We are different people, Cen. Completely different.”
“Our Fathers are identical twins. We have the same Father, even if it’s literally two bodies. We are twins, we are as close as it gets.” Ilarius sighed, remaining quiet on the intricacies of the science involved in their situation, letting Cen have his point without contest.
“We are still too close for most peoples’ comfort.”
“What about your comfort?” Ilarius looked at his brother in quiet contemplation before he answered his question.
“My comfort has never been compromised.” Again, Ilarius’ eyes fell everywhere but his brother’s face. Cen leaned in to pin him with his gaze.
“Then that’s all the matters.” Cendricus held his brother’s gaze as he leaned in and kissed him quickly on the lips. Ilarius’ face flamed to life as Cen nuzzled into his neck, curling into his chest. Ilarius held his brother, resting his chin against the top of his head. He sighed quietly as Cen settled in, drifting into sleep. He knew that it was strange for brothers to fall asleep like this, for them to know the other so well, to always know what the other was thinking. It was several minutes before the blush left his cheeks and though it wasn’t such a strange thing for family to kiss, he felt as though it were wrong when it came to Cen. He mused that it was probably because he wanted to do the same more often than was considered normal. He groaned inwardly as his thoughts swirled around Cen, normalcy, and closeness. He held his brother tightly, listening to his breathing, unconsciously matching it. He played with his brother’s golden hair as he drifted off, finally admitting to himself that he loved being this close to his brother, to someone that knew him so well, and he wondered if they really were two halves of the same being.
