I do not own Digimon: Digital Monsters, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Between Angels And Insects.
LP: I missed your comments the last few days...:\'( But, again, read a bit more clearly. It\'s because Cody is in the hospital for three weeks, so they\'re going about their lives. I\'ll go back over their little mundane lives eventually.
Chapter Nineteen - "Between Angels and Insects"
She\'s changing. I knew it was happening a while ago, but...she\'s growing darker. It\'s ironic; she\'s evoked a more gentle side of myself, and I\'ve evoked a more darker side within her. It\'s almost laughable, but...it\'s as if she\'s becoming more corrupted then I\'d like her to be...

He\'s doing it again, Jade thought, as she watched Ken, snuggled up beside him. He was staring that million-lightyear stare that little could break him from. She sighed, and got herself from the bed, pulling the sheets off her would-be lover. As the cold sunk its talons into his flesh, Ken was vigorously shaken from his trance.
"WHAT?" he yelled, recoiling into a stance beside the bed. "What the hell was that?" he glared, a deep anger burning in his eyes. Jade smirked. A week ago, she would have jumped away.
"You were in that world of yours." she replied, placing her hands on her hips.
"There are less obvious ways of getting my attention!" he barked, snatching the sheets from the floor. Jade snarled at him. That act in and of itself took Ken aback. As he blinked at her, she jumped, and much to his surprise, had him pinned to his bed.
"Like what? Ice on your-"
"Hey! What\'s gotten into you?"
"I dunno but don\'tcha like it?"
"I\'m not so sure, Jade..."
"Eww. Don\'t call me that anymore. I think the Empress has a nice ring, don\'tcha think? The Digimon Empress."
"Now that\'s stepping on MY name."
"Oh please; all that Emperor shit is all talk and poppycock. You\'re as dark as a shadow at noon, fraud." Ken\'s eyes thinned. There was a lot he could withstand; calling him a fraud was not one of them. He pushed up against her, and tossed her roughly aside. Jade fell off the side of the bed, and hit the floor with a thud.
"WHO\'S A FUCKING FRAUD?!" he bellowed, clenching his fists. Jade sat there, blinking. What on earth had come over her? Sure she\'d been in a dark mood lately; but what WAS that?
"Ken, I\'m sorry; I\'d don\'t know what came over me..." she replied, standing up. But Ken wasn\'t listening.
"YOU GET INTO MY BED INTO MY HEART AND YOU CALL ME A FRAUD? I LET YOU SEE MY HUMAN SIDE, AND YOU CALL ME A FRAUD? I\'LL TELL YOU WHO\'S S FRAUD; WORMMON DIGIVOLVE!" he screamed, grasping his digivice white-knucle off the table nearby. A few seconds later, a very curious Stingmon floated into the world. Upon seeing his master in such rage, he cast his eyes on Jade.
"What did you do?" he whispered.
"STINGMON, KILL HER!" Ken fumed, a dark aura beginning to consume his form. Stingmon really didn\'t want to; but he had to. Reluctantly, he stepped forward, raising a palm upwards. Jade recoiled as far back against the wall behind her, but it did no good - and just as she was about to try and run, the striking pain of Stingmon\'s claws struck her collarbone. She called out in pain as she slid to the floor, her blood trailing down her breasts. Stingmon was nearly crying from such an act, but again he raised his claws to strike her. Jade cast her eyes up to Ken, but that portion of him was long gone. The being before her wasn\'t Ken anymore; it was pure Emperor.
"Please, Ken..." she spoke, regretting every letter of her words a few moments ago.
"Pleeease, Ken..." he mocked, cackling insanely. "There\'ll be no begging me; I am not a FRAUD, after all. I shall bathe in your blood, human."
"ECHO OF DESTRUCTION!" screamed a late, but well loved voice. Within seconds of the announcement, a beam of six clear rings, vertical, much like a nuclear sound wave, lauched from the doorway, and slammed into Stingmon. The strength of it slammed the bug into a nearby wall, and the ending five sent his energy seething from his body. As a result, Stingmon was reduced to Leafmon. Unfortunately, as a now extremely weak Requimon inched himself through the doorway, Ken wasn\'t finished.
"YOU FUCKING WHORE, YOU MADE MY DIGIMON WEAK!" he growled, and charged at her. He wrapped his fingers around her throat and stared ragefully into her eyes. She coughed from the lack of air, as Requimon dragged himself closer to the Emperor to save his human.
"Let....her....go....." he commanded, as Leafmon bounced his way over to try and help. The being standing there was no longer his master; that much was obvious.
"LET HER GO?! LET. HER. GO?!!? HAAHAHAHAH! YOU THINK I\'LL HONESTLY NOT KILL HER NOW?" Ken kicked away the weakened champion level digimon, and snarled at him. "MAKE ME."
"Jade...digi...volve me....don\'t...argue...." Jade stared at Requimon in disbelief. If she did that, and he attacked, he wouldn\'t have enough energy left to...
"Yes Jade...digivolve him..." Ken spoke in a sadistic tone, dropping her to the floor. She coughed in the sudden leashing of air, and gasped as she swept Requimon up into her arms. As soon as she\'d coughed enough to make any sort of vocal murmur, she spoke.
"I\'m...not loosing...you...yet...." she coughed out. Ken thinned his eyes, and whacked Requimon out of his hands. The digimon hit a nearby wall, and as he hit the ground, quickly became Satchelmon. Jade screamed and dashed to tend to him, but Ken snatched her by the middle, and held her kicking and screaming against him. Leafmon bounced his way to Satchelmon, and tried his best to get him out of the room - but he\'d have no piece of it. Using the little strength he had left in his level to launch out his sole attack, his form began to glow, but Ken paid no attention to it. Roughly, his hand grappled her breast, painfully twisting the flesh. Jade screamed again; this was turning into a nightmare.
"Scream, that\'s right Jade, SCREAM, BITCH." he spoke, giving the breast a sadistic pull. Before Jade could even scream, Satchelmon unleashed the energy he had been preparing.
"UNLEASH!" he bellowed, and lauched the energy out. As soon as it left in it\'s spherical ice-blue toned mass, Satchelmon instantly shifted down once more, all the way down to Pijumon. Now, he could do nothing more. If he did, he would die. The sphere slammed into Ken\'s back, and sent the two flying onto the bed. Of course, because he had only been Rookie stage, the attack wasn\'t enough to do much of anything but knock Ken off balance.
"THANKS BITCH!" he cackled, and pinned Jade under himself. Now, she was terrified. Would she honestly die, now? His hand clasped onto her throat.
"Before you kill me," she spoke quickly. Ken paused, the evil spores within him willing to hear the last plea. "Tell Ken I love him." she prayed that her words would be enough. If it wasn\'t, at least she knew she died fighting to live. She couldn\'t hope to fight him off; he was twice her strength. Moments passed, and Ken didn\'t move. Or, more closely, the spores didn\'t make him move - but Jade didn\'t know that, yet. Finally, the hand moved from her throat, and just as suddenly as it all snapped into place, it all crumbled.
"...I was about to kill you, and yet, you love me?..." he muttered, backing away as he stared at his own hand. The last time she said that was in the heat of sex; that was different, but now? "...I was about to kill you...and...you love me..." he repeated, as a scared, but relieved Jade peeled herself off the bed. In truth, she did.
"I don\'t love that evil. I love the man you\'ve shown me the last few weeks. Maybe in some sick way it\'s different; but I know this isn\'t who you really are."
"...I was about to kill you...and-"
"And yes, I love you." Jade spoke, placing her hand on his cheek. Ken\'s eyes shot up from his hand to her face in almost horror; she could still touch him after that? Ken pulled away, and turned his back on her.
"You can\'t. It\'s not possible. NO one loves me; I\'m the Emperor. The evil one." he spoke, more convincing in his voice than ever before.
"But, thats not all of who you are, and I love-"
"That\'s enough." he interrupted, raising a hand. "NO ONE. Loves me. No one has; no one will. It\'s destiny." Jade sighed; maybe she was totally insane, maybe it was fate, maybe he had some split personality disorder; but she did love him, and she was home to stay here in his arms, in his castle, in his world. She stepped in front of him, and as a matter of convincing him, she crashed her lips into his, and kissed him with every burning ember of love that she had in her core - and hoped it would get through to him.
"THAT is destiny." she spoke, staring into his eyes. He stared at her with confusion; how was this possible? He nearly took her life, and she loved him through it all? That half of him, that dark, evil emperor that didn\'t care about anything but total digital domination, she saw past that. Even if he\'d showed a genuine side, none would ever have seen it as genuine once they saw the evil; but she....she saw through it - and loved him.
"....Jade..."
"Yes?..." she replied with a hopeful tone.
"...Marry me..." Jade\'s jaw fell open as soon as the question processed through her instantly stunned mind. Had he seriously just said that? "Jade, if you love me...and it makes sense that you do...then, marry me. Become my Wife....become Mrs Jade Ichijouji."
"Ken, I...." she muttered, in sheer disbelief. She didn\'t mean THAT kind of getting through to him...
