Chapter 2
~Indecent proposal 2~
Behind the curtains, Omi listens to every single word Nagi said carefully. The young Weiss’s heart flutters at the thought of true love and soul mate. That sounds so poetic. It’s like Cleopatra and Anthony. Omi wishes he can have a one and only special someone, too.
“We respect your belief, Nagi.” Crawford says.
Nagi nods, “Thank you, Crawford. Enjoy your night at the bar.” He takes a book off the shelves and leaves the library.
Schuldig gets up and rubs his head. He eyes Crawford angrily, “You don’t have to hit that hard, you know.”
“I know it’s funny but you don’t have to laugh at him like that!” Crawford starts laughing. Schuldig laughs, too. Omi mutters, “How rude of them. I think Nagi is nice.”
Crawford and Schuldig get out of the room. Omi drops on the floor and says, “I can’t believe I’m inside this house with all the Schwartz here with me!!!! I am so lucky that they didn’t hear me talking to myself...and singing Mission Impossible. Better get out of here now...” Omi opens the window and tries to escape when he hears Crawford and Schuldig talking outside the door.
“You know, Crawford, I bet I can change Nagi’s mind in less than ten seconds.” Schuldig says. Omi frowns and takes out his recorder. he sticks a microphone under the door and starts recording.
“Oh, yeah? And how much are you willing to bet on it?” Crawford answers.
“Let’s says 300 bucks. I can get Nagi into my sac by the end of the night.” Schuldig says.
“Make it 500.” Crawford says.
“Sure. I’ll make it 500 if you’re in it with me. I’ll bet 500 bucks that I can get Nagi into the sac before you do.” Schuldig says. “How about it? Are you afraid of me?”
Crawford and Schuldig have always been competitive when they fight for girls. This time, they are fighting so bad they can’t stop themselves from backing off. Poor Nagi becomes their victim.
Crawford pushes his glasses and says, “sure. No problem. I’m going to win anyhow. No way you can get into his pants. Your wicked ways only work on drunk women.”
“Get your 500 bucks ready, buddy. I’m going to fuck his brain out before you can even find him.” Schuldig leaves.
Omi pulls the microphone back from under the door. He pushes the off button to his recorder and says, “I can’t believe this! How can they do that to their own teammate! I got to let Nagi listen to what they said!”
Omi then thinks about his situation. He has to avoid Schuldig and Crawford; then gets to Nagi before they do; then let Nagi listens to the tape; then escapes. Omi scratches his head and says, “There is no way I can do that. They are all top assassins! I must be crazy!”
Then he sees Farfello walks by, licking his knife. Omi hides behind the door and says, “I am totally out of my mind.”
“Hey! Nagi! Wait up!” The voice of Schuldig appears at the back of the hallway. Omi at once forgets about his worry and says, “Oh, no! I’m too late!!!\" Omi waits til Farfello disappears and heads toward the back of the hallway.
Schuldig and Nagi get into the living room. Nagi sits down at the armchair and looks at Schuldig, “you want to talk to me?”
“Yeah. Listen, kid. I’m really sorry about the way I acted earlier. I really am. I just... I hang around jerks so long I forget how to behave in front of nice people.”
“I told you I don’t mind. I expected you to react that way.” Nagi says as he opens his book and starts reading. “So don’t worry yourself over it.”
Schuldig smiles—it’s time for operation getting Nagi.
Schuldig walks to the door, opens it and turns around to face Nagi. He lets out a heavy and says, “I’m going to go to my room and watch TV.”
Nagi looks up and watches Schuldig. the boy then closes his book and says, “Schuldig, is every alright with you?”
Schuldig smiles, “yeah, everything is cool.”
“Then why are you going to your room? I thought you are going to the bars tonight. What is the matter? Are you not feeling well?”
Schuldig looks Nagi in the eyes and yells, “As a matter of fact, I ain’t feeling well at all! I feel totally shitty right now thanks to you! You really suck, you know that?!”
“I beg your pardon?” Nagi looks at Schuldig.
“You Suck, Nagi! I come here to apologize and you diss me! you’re just like everybody else! You just look at me and then you go ahead and think that I’m a big, dumb jerk! How can you judge me like that!”
“I don’t judge people!” Nagi shouts, “Please, Schuldig, clam down...”
“You said you EXPECTED me to laugh at you, remember? You EXPECTED me to be act like a jerk before you even give me a chance.!”
“I...”
“I don’t care what other people think, but you’re different! I thought out of all people you will be the one who understand me! I have feelings, too!”
“I...”
“I thought I can come and apologize and we can have a talk or something! I thought we can be friends.” Schuldig says as he opens the door and walks out. Nagi rushes up and grabs Schuldig’s arm.
“Wait, Schuldig. Listen. I’m very sorry I hurt your feeling. It isn’t my intention to do so. You’re my teammate and I have nothing but respect and trust toward you.” Nagi says.
Schuldig looks at Nagi and says, “you do?”
“Yes, I certainly do. I will never think of you as anything that’s bad. Please stay so we can talk and be friends.” Nagi says.
