A Wing And A Prayer

Chapter Two: A New Hope

Folding his hands under his chin Chihaya stared at the bland white wall of the secret hospital the Lucifer\'s had created. He was so very board. With his new wing in traction so he couldn\'t move while bones healed and fused together there was little he could do but lay there on the bed staring at nothing. Kagetsuya helped keep the boredom away by playing cards, reading books to him, or just talking.

But he could hear the gentle sighing of breath that told him Kagetsuya was asleep. Instead of wakening his lover he thought back to the day they had arrived at the hospital. How long had it been? It seemed like years had gone by since the day Kagetsuya had led him to the unassuming door of the building that housed the hospital. Had it really only been four months?

He turned his head so he could see his back, careful not to turn it too far. The dark feathers of his new wing looked no different than those of his other wing. A sheepish grin appeared on his face. He had been shocked when Sarah had first shown him the wing they had grown for him. The color had startled him. But when he reflected on it the color had made sense. The wing was grown directly from his own DNA so it would be a perfect match. But even if they hadn\'t had his DNA to work from there were plenty of other dark angels to work from. Still he was glad his wings would be the same color even if they were both black.

Chihaya blinked. \"That\'s something I haven\'t thought about in a while.\" The dark hair shone in brightly as Chihaya shook his head sadly. \"I have finally accepted my color. It only took nearly losing both my wings and my partner. \"

\"I promise you Kagetsuya I will remember how blessed I am to just have you in my life. I will stop chasing after things that do not matter and pay attention to the one person who does matter to me.\"

The tall blond angel shifted in his sleep but showed no sign of having heard his lover\'s words. For a moment Chihaya watched Kagetsuya thinking of all the things his lover had done for him.

Chihaya saw again Kagetsuya taking the mad doctor\'s bullets for him. Kagetsuya holding on to him as the pain from healing bones became too much to bear. He remembered the gentle kisses Kagetsuya had given him to ease away bruises with his healing kiss.

\"I would never have been able to survive the operation and all the pain afterwards if it hadn\'t been for you.\" He told the sleeping Kagetsuya aching to get up off the bed and wrap his arms around his lover.

\"Good after noon, Chihaya,\" A soft lilting voice floated into the room. Chihaya watched as the silver hared doctor walk over to his side. Sarah made a few humming noises, as she looked the wing over. \"Hmm yes, I think we can finally be done with these.\" The healer indicated the wires holding Chihaya\'s wing and back in place.

Kagetsuya pushed himself out of the chair he had been resting in and was next to Chihaya in an instant. Having woken at the doctor\'s entrance. \"His wing has completely fused now?\"

Sarah nodded brightly,\" They have. Now we just have to take off the wires and see what kind of movement you have.\" The doctor patted the dark angel softly between the small of his back. Chihaya try to move your new wing.

Chihaya did as Sarah asked biting back a sob of pain. \"It hurts!\"

Sarah nodded,\" Of course it does you have had it held still in one place for a very long time. That is normal Chihaya. Your movement is very good despite the pain. Yes I think your doing well enough that you can go home in a few weeks.

\"Your certain it will stop hurting?\" Chihaya asked. He had not really heard what Sarah said.

\"Sarah grinned,\" Yes, I am sure Chihaya. I have done operations like this before. From all the indications we see, you should recover most if not all of the strength you had in your original wing. Exercise is the key. But don\'t let him over do it.\" Sarah lifted an admonishing finger towards Kagetsuya.

Kagetsuya smiled hugging the startled dark winged angel to him. \"You can be sure I will take very good care of him.\" Looking down into Chihaya\'s eyes he eased his lover into a sitting position. \"So are you ready to start working your wing out?\"

Chihaya winced at the pain in his back as his lover lifted him the rest of the way up. Closing his eyes he breathed a sigh of thanks for the good things in his life. When he opened them again he couldn\'t help but respond to the love that shone from Kagetsuya\'s eyes.

\"No flying just yet,\" Sarah admonished not noticing the lover\'s exchange. \"You can work out your wings but I want you to have built up a little more muscle before you try to fly. \" With that final word of warning Sarah left the room with a wave.

Neither Kagetsuya nor Chihaya saw her go. Kagetsuya tightened his arms around his lover pulling him close. \"Fold your wings in, my love.\"

Chihaya looked up at Kagetsuya in confusion,\" But I thought I was supposed to exercise.\"
\"Oh I am going to give you some exercise.\" The blond angel murmured brushing his tongue along Chihaya\'s ear. He let his reath dance along his lover\'s neck. Furling his wings Chihaya shivered in at the warmth of his lover\'s breath.

\"I don\'t think this is exactly what Sarah had in mind.\" Chihaya looked up into Kagetsuyas eyes, a smile lighting up his face.

Kagetsuya chuckled before leaning forward to kiss Chihaya on the bridge of his nose. \"No doubt you are right. But Chihaya, it has been nearly four months. Can you truly tell me you would rather be doing wing exercises than this?\"

With that Kagetsuya kissed his way down Chihaya\'s chest. He took his time to savor the sweet taste of Chihaya\'s skin. Chihaya leaned into the kiss startled at the deep moan of pleasure that tore itself from his chest.

Chihaya felt Kagetsuya\'s mouth turn up into a smile as his lover came in for another kiss. \"I think I will take that as a no.\" His deep voice murmured before he wrapped his tongue around Chihaya\'s nipple. The dark hared angel leaned into his lover\'s ministrations. But before he lost himself completely to Kagetsuya\'s spell Chihaya sent up a silent prayer of thanks for Kagetsuya, for his new wing, for all the things he had taken for granted a few months ago.

His breath caught as Kagetsuya slipped a hand into his pants. Chihaya trembled as his lover continued rubbing along his shaft. It had been a very long time since they had last done this, Chihaya thought as bright lights appeared behind his eyes.

Clinging with great need to his bright angel Chihaya called out,\" Kagetsuya, please.\"

Kagetsuya stood keeping his hands on his lover as he moved. Gently he settled Chihaya on the bed. Lifting Chihaya\'s legs he slid into place. The violet eyes watched him as he lubricated himself. Those beautiful eyes were full of passion as he sheathed himself into the dark angel.

\"Kagetsuya,\" Chihaya moaned arching up to meet his lover\'s thrusts. His own erection hardened as the blond angel began pulling softly on his member.

His breathing heavy, Chihaya\'s head rolled back and forth as his moaning became more regular. His body started to shake as he screamed arching his back. Quick thinking despite the fact that his own orgasm was drawing near, Kagetsuya pushed his hand into his lover\'s mouth. They didn\'t want to upset the rest of the hospital after all.

The gentle sucking proved his undoing. Pushing himself forward into Chihaya as far as he could, Kagetsuya came. Biting down on his lower lip to keep from crying out he continued to thrust until he felt himself go slack. Chihaya let go of Kagetsuya\'s hand and looked up at his lover.

Kagetsuya sighed in shear pleasure he let himself drown in the liquid violet eyes for a moment. He was very pleased and a little bit awed to know it was he who had put that glow of happiness there.

Chihaya leaned forward to kiss his lover. \"Do you know how very much I love you?\" He asked when they finally broke the kiss.\"

Kagetsuya lifted a hand to Chihaya\'s cheek and traced his lover\'s jaw line. \"I think so. But feel free to show me again if you like.\"

This time it was Chihaya\'s turn to chuckle as he pulled Kagetsuya down into another embrace. He didn\'t know where the future would lead him. Or what his place in that future was. But Kagetsuya would be there to share it with him. He sighed happily as Kagetsuya swallowed his kisses. \"Yes, he thought to himself as Kagetsuya explored his ear with his tongue. The prayers that meant the most to him had been heard and answered.
