Chapter 2
"Aaawww! Kasumi! Not another Pokemon costume! I've already tried on a Goldeen! Why do you think Seeking will be any better??" Satoshi crossed his Magikarp fins in annoyance.
"You should be a water Pokemon! That way I can-" Kasume was stopped when Takeshi chuckled softly.
"Satoshi, you know how silly you look?" The older of the trio brought into the conversation and Satoshi threw his fins up.
"That's IT! I'm NOT letting Kasumi pick out my costume!" He turned to storm back into the dressing room, but was stopped when someone cleared their throat.
"Are you Satoshi?" The young cashier asks, looking pointedly at Satoshi.
"Yeah?" He suddenly looks distressed. He didn't do anything wrong!
"This...um...person came in not too long ago and bought one of our most expensive costumes and said you should have it." She bobs her head down and offers him a large box with a running herd of Rapidash on the lid. Now it was time that Kasumi acted up.
"Who in their right mind would buy you such an expensive gift, Satoshi? I wouldn't trust it!" The girl fumed. The cashier looked distressed.
"They...said it would be nice if you wore it for them..." So she couldn't even give out the person's gender? How sad. Maybe mom was playing a trick on him. Satoshi opened the lid slowly then stared with wide eyes at the contents of the package before closing it.
"I...I want to try it on." He stutters nervously and disappears behind the curtain before anyone could protest.
Takeshi was the first to speak up since their friend disappeared a while ago.
"What kind of costume was it?" The tall boy asked and before the cashier could tell him, the curtain opened and there stood Satoshi. Kasumi's and Takeshi's mouth both dropped open when they saw him.
He stood there in tight, light blue body suit that seemed could only peel off of him when he wanted to take it off. It stretched all the way down his arms and tipped off over the backs of his hands and connected to silver rings he wore on his fingers. Around his wrists were tuffs of silver and blue feathers that matched the trim around his neck that trailed down his chest and ended just between his legs. He turnedwly,wly, showing off the long tail feathers that hung down to his ankles. As he turned back he smiled. The blue in the costume brought out the red in his brown eyes. He produced a silver and blue mask and studdied it for a moment. Feathers trailed down the back of the mask, obviously to hide the hair of the wea He He flipped the feathers over his shoulder and slipped the mask on. The beak of ice blue ended in a spike of silver. Satoshi's red hued eyes could be seen through the holes in the mask making the look slightly eerie.
"Wow..." was all Kasumi could say.
"That's...Articuno..." was all Takeshi could say.
"Piiikaaaah!" Pikachu seemed to like this costume alot and gave him a thumbs up.
"Thanks guys. I'll take this one, then." Satoshi smiled as he took the mask off and headed back into the dressing room.
"Well...that takes all the fun out of it." Kasumi blurts then looks mischeviously to Takeshi, who notices the stare.
"Don't think about it. I've already picked out my costume." The rock trainer said and crossed his arms. Kasumi deflated.
"You're no fun..." She muttered as she walked to the female costumes to pick one out for herself. Satoshi came out with both of the boxes in his backpack and adjusting his pants.
"Where's your costume, Takeshi?" The boy asks and Takeshi shakes his head.
"I'll take the Pirate costume." Takeshi nods to the costume on the rack. The cashier, who was in a daze all this time, perks and rushes to gather said costume, and goes to the counter to wait for the other costume. Soon, the trio were making their way back to the Pokemon center and the waiting busses.
