Part 10 + 11

Part 10

The remaining members of Schwarz had left the little apartment in England just before dawn. Crawford had been in no shape the fly the plane so Schuldig had used his talents plus a wad of money to get a pilot to fly them. In no need of witnesses the pilot had found his memory wiped and wandering around the small airport, confused of where he’d been and how he’d gotten there. Both Schuldig and Nagi, deciding to calm Crawford down so he didn’t shoot him that moment.

Schuldig had driven them round the back area to the complex far out of reach from anywhere. The outside looked derelict, as if it would fall down any moment, no entry and warning sides boarded the windows and doors and didn’t look at all in use.

The three had surveyed the area for almost four hours much to their annoyance and finally saw one of the nurses leaving. After getting information on the security system, with thanks of invisible hands around the mans throat and squeezing as they had got impatient, they finally had the details of the complexawfoawford moved from his prone position to the nurse, gun to his throat as he glared coolly. Searching he found the nurses pass and took it. Only being a third rate nurse he didn’t have access to the levels Farferello was most probably kept in. A look into his mind showed he had no knowledge of the false dealings or where Farferello was. A warning and a twinge on the nerve endings of his brain allowed him to leave. The male wasn’t stupid and took the warnto gto get a new job seriously, getting in his car and driving off, unknown to him, he didn’t know that suddenly his breaks were going to fail. The screech of tires trying to stop on a slippery road went ignored.

After all, there were to be NO WITNESSES!

Getting into the complex was easy with the pass. They had a route of how to get into the higher level section of where the normal patients were kept, looking very much like a ghost town from the actual lack of patients. A quick scan of this level left Schuldig with the knowledge that there were in fact no patients in this area.

“Crawford, which way?”

Nagi looto tto the older man, who at present time had his magnum in hand, ready and willing to use it.

“Schuldig did you pick anything else up on how to get to the lower level?”

He was fast losing his patience as Nagi set about disarming the cameras and lights, none realizing the dead asylum had an alarm system.

“This way…”

He took the keycard from the American, pressing it against a hidden panel and waited as the door swished open, a sickly green light emerging from the stair well the door led down to.

“Nagi are you done?”

The boy nodded, catching up and they made their way down the spiraling staircase as all the camera’s in the building went down, the lights flickering off before the back up lighting flickered on, the orange glow from beneath them lighting their way further.

“Be prepared for anything”.

The other two nodded as they made their way down.

~~

The nurse made his rounds across the lower section. It was true they rarely had any patients but truly Farferello was their main delicacy. With a whistle, he stopped midway as the lights flickered, the power of the camera above flicking off.

“Krestiun what’s going on?”

The radio flickered and crackled as he waited for an answer. Moving down the halls he hummed a little as the overhead orange white glow flickered on.

“It’s just a power serge nothing out of the usual”.

The croaky Irish voice on the other end sounded a little unusual to the nurse but he shrugged, flicking the radio off. His eyes only looking up in panic at the gunshot that sounded through the air from the corridors in front and he missed the muffled cry and shout as he felt himself thrust against the wall by an invisible power. His coffee cup dropped from his hands as the hot dark liquid trailed down his grayish clothing, pooling in the many cracks of the ground below his feet.

“What the fuck...?”

He blinked in confusion as he struggled against the grip; eyes widening as three figures emerged through the door just ahead of him. Invisible hands at his throat tightened his eyes bugging slightly as he was hoisted further into the air.

“It’s not nice to swear, especially near young children”.

The German’s nasal voice cut through the air and the nurse panicked.

“Oh god”.

Schuldig smiled. The nurse remembered him.

He struggled aimlessly, legs kicking at nothing as the smirking red head came closer, cigarette taken from his mouth and clutched tightly in fingers as his free hand held the nurse’s face.

“You’re going to tell us how to get to the lower level or your death is going to be that much more painful”.

Stupidly the nurse laughed at spat at him, recoiling when the hand holding him slapped him and the other pressed the cigarette against the soft flesh below his eye.

“Don’t test our patience, you know who we are and why we are here”.

Crawford stepped forwards, his eyes promising a slow death as Schuldig wiped his face, the boy dropped his hold on the man and he soon found the American’s fist in his stomach before knocking him to the ground, the foot placed against his neck pressing harder.

“Schu, find out what we want to know, now!”

Schuldig nodded, going into the nurse’s mind and poking through his memories as Crawford’s place on his neck intensified.

“Down this corridor, take the pass, the code is 49012769”.

Crawford nodded.

“Such a long code for an idiot to remember, intriguing”.

With a final move, the foot twisted quickly, breaking the man’s neck with a loud snap.

“Let’s go”.

He started off as Nagi grabbed the pass and soon caught up with them.

“You’d think they’d have more guards and nurses nein?”

Nagi nodded. “Then again these guys aren’t paid for their brain matter, just for their size”.

Schuldig laughed, watching the boy hand the pass to the American who then keyed in the code, allowing the elevator door to open. Stepping in, basement was pressed and the elevator made its decent.

“No witnesses. Remember that”.

The two nodded and watched Crawford cock and un cock the gun, finger twitching as he waited for them to arrive. The elevator’s happy music set his teeth grinding and was glad when finally the doors dinged open and they stepped out.

“Schuldig anyone around?”

The German waited and scanned the area for any thoughts, finally picking up one of a man wondering about what he was going to have for dinner.

/Heh, nothing/

“Up ahead, the main office. I think it’s one of the head nurses”.

Crawford nodded and started towards it, steps graceful as he clicked the safety back of the gun he was clutching.

“Lets go then”.

Nagi nodded, walking at his side and watched both with nervous but unblinking eyes. He wondered what would happen; maybe it was a trap for them? There didn’t seem to be enough guards or nurses.

As they got to the office the door was kicked in and before they could stop him the nurse looked up in panic, leaning forwards and pressing the alarm button they hadn’t noticed before either could stop him.

“Big mistake”.

Crawford pushed him over the desk, making him land on the floor with a thud before yelping when a boot connected with his ribs under a mass of fat.

“Where is he!”.

The nurse laughed, even as blood trickled down his nose.

“Where’s who sweetheart?”

He grinned, laughing as he was pulled up and pushed against a cabinet another smack to his face had him crying out, gun pushed past his lips and the American smiled cruelly.

“Where is he?”

The nurse laughed around the gun, even as he felt invisible hands begin to beat him all over, the gun then pulled from his mouth so he could talk.

“ANSWER ME!!!”

He kept laughing even when the force of the hands made their way around his throat. Croakily he managed to spew words out.

“Jei is where you’ll never find him, …you’ll…never get him back. AND HE’S A GOOD LITTLE WHORE”.

A hand to his own stopped Crawford shooting him, and he turned brown eyes to jade and nodded. Cells and fibers were twisted as memories and thoughts were stolen. Half way through Schuldig had to stop, clutching Nagi tightly as the events of what had happened to Farferello washed over him.

“You fucking bastard”.

Even in anger he continued to shift through his thoughts and disgusting memories of what the nurse had done to the Irishman, even the newest rape and where he was.

“Crawford I know, let’s go”.

The American nodded to him, smiling as the nurse continued to laugh and didn’t even blink as he found himself splattered with blood, the bullet ripping the others head apart, splashing brain matter and blood over the cabinet behind him.

“You should have just told.
.

With glazed eyes the American pulled back, the gun smoking and dripping blood as he left the room. The other two members soon following silently.

“Schuldig WHERE IS HE!!!”

His voice had a pleading tone to it; it was a sure sign that he was fast breaking down.

“End of corridor left, down the stairs and it’s a large cell”.

The American nodded and started off in a run, paying no heed to the alarm going off around him, and shots from above as he kept running. Screaming he banged at the door, fists curled tightly as blood began to trickle down his hands from the force until the others caught up to him. Nagi forced the door with his mind and Crawford ran in, stopping in his tracks as he stared at the doctor perched over the Irishman’s form.

“To late. This dosage will kill him”.

The doctor laughed as the needle made it’s decent. Crawford screamed as his gun went off, firing the entire clip of bullets into the doctor’s body before the needle pierced Farferello’s skin. The bullets ripped through his flesh and into the many torture machines around and behind him, all fizzling and crackling, before his body fell back. It hit the ground and all was silent.

“Farfie”.

Part 11

Schuldig had to step back as he shut his mental walls down around himself, the whispering thoughts and screams coming from the Irishman’s mind much worse than he’d ever known. He kept the boy back with him as he slid to the ground, trying to regain his breath as Crawford stepped forwards.

“Farfie…”

His gun clattered to the ground, mouth and eyes wide as he took in the scene.

“What’d they do to you…”

He shook his head as he came around the side, taking in the appearance of the man before him as he quickly un-worked the straps. Farferello’s hair still had clumps of black dye from where it hadn’t all been washed off by the water blast, some staining his skin along with blood on just his face. As the straps were pulled off, falling freely, the American took in the full extent of the damage. Ribs were protruding, showing he hadn’t been fed since he’d been taken, his body more frail than the American had even seen it. Moving down he unlaced the leg straps, fighting the gag reflex when he saw the dried blood caking the Irishman’s thighs.

Biting his lip, he gently pulled the pads from Farferello’s face before turning.

“Schuldig, coat”

He turned to stare at the German before walking over to him.

“COAT, NOW!!!!”

The German blinked slowly focusing eyes as he removed his jacket, the cocking of a gun, pointed at his head had been the only incentive he’d needed.

Taking the green jacket, the American moved over to the table, covering the still shivering body with it, wrapping him slowly before picking him up and cradling him safely to his own.

“Lets go”.

Shifting, Farferello laid snug against the blood spattered spots of the American’s jacket, his body still not responding to the outside world, but the shivering seemed to lessen a little. The other two caught up as more guards spilled out from corridors besides them.

Crawford didn’t even twitch as the battle started, Schuldig shooting at those who fell on them as Nagi placed a shield around them. As they walked the glass windows around them exploded, sending shards of glass into those not already fallen. As they passed, glass continued to shatter, lighting their way as more descended on them, but soon fell foul to the breaking glass, caused by Nagi’s power. Once they were done, Crawford nodded to Schuldig and Nagi who both waited behind as he started towards the higher levels, clutching the body to his own as he used his own skill to stay clear of any danger. Pressing on he slowly made his way to the car outside, free from the guards, and seated Farferello in the back across him. After dragging the small bag he’d brought into the back, he pulled out the clothing and blankets he’d brought, wrapping the still comatose Irishman in it tightly before pulling him to his chest.

“Come back Farferello, you can fight this”.

As his hand stroked through the soft matted hair he bit his lip, ignoring the small sob escaping his lips in his own right.

“Don’t let them win…we need you…I…I need you”.

Gently he rocked the form against his own as he waited.

~~

Deep inside through the chaotic thoughts, Farferello heard a murky whisper.

/Crawford?/

His eyelashes fluttered against his paler skin as he tried to find the source of the sound.

/But he’s dead/

He thought against the binds of memories incasing him as he tried to search out the sound, it was so dark inside amidst the trembling voices.

/Maybe I’m hearing things…but maybe these memories I could live peacefully in/

He subconsciously wanted to be closer to those he’d cared for, even if everything else was a lie.

/But they’re killers…I’m a killer. I murdered the innocents and I enjoyed it/

*You sick little boy, you killed your family! You did it! *

He thought against his inner voice as he struggled against himself.

/But it wasn’t my fault, the lies…/

*You still did it though…you enjoyed tasting their blood and hearing them scream, you deserve this torment, this pain*

/No…I don’t want to die…/

*There’s nothing for you, Schwarz is deadey cey could never want you near them, they truly despised you, your family hate you, you are NOTHING! *

And he began to believe it.

~~

The doors slammed shut, and Crawford looked up through tearful eyes.

“It is done”.

He nodded as his fingers traced over the blooded skin, trying to clean some from Farferello’s face.

“Schu…why won’t he come back to me?”

The German started the car as he looked into the mirror in front of him, eyes soft. He allowed some of his barrier to fall so he could screen the thoughts of the Irishman.

“He’s fighting against himself, he thinks he deserves this because he killed his parents and many others”.

Nagi gasped a little as he turned his own wide eyes to the back.

“He knows?”

Schuldig nodded.

“The drug he had, I think it opened his mind to everything he’d closed off since that day. He blames himself, he hates himself. The only thing we can do is to keep talking to him, to let him know we need him. Maybe he will be strong enough to fight it”.

The car turned away, speeding down the road just as the building exploded behind them.

/No witnesses, never again/

The fire burned, a raging inferno only getting bigger as it soared.

“What if he isn’t?”

The American’s eyes pleaded for the truth and Schuldig took a breath.

“Then he’ll never come back to us”.
