Waking once again in a white room the teenager sighed inwardly he had hoped it was all a nightmare…being found…saved if that’s what the doctors liked to call it…
Still for him it was not saving that the boy who called himself Syaoran did; instead he had condemned him to everlastingly pain, pain that he was denied to escape from.
He blinked away the tears that were on the brink of falling down his face for one of the many times that day.
Why had he cared to save him, they didn’t know each other he himself had no influence on Syaoran’s life.
Hearing the door open the blue haired boy didn’t bother to look, he already knew it was the nurse that done her usual check ups in the recovery ward.
“Hello and how are we feeling today?” she asked her usual question smiling down at the boy lying in the bed. She had seen him yesterday afternoon but he never answered her questions. “You are the talkative one aren’t you” still he watched her not speaking or defending himself towards her accusation.
Sighing the nurse walked over to the bed side checking the monitors making sure they were all still working.
Moving back over to her trolley she pulled out a cup that held water and two small white tablets with no markings on them.
“You have to take these” when the boy didn’t make any movement to take the offered drink and tablets she placed them on the small table that usually held ‘Get Well’ cards and flowers but this table stood empty. “You lost a lot of blood, these tablets will get your strength back” the boy only looked at her with empty eyes not really hearing what he was being told.
Smiling the best she could the lady turned back to her trolley and left the room.
Turning his grey eyes back to the table that held the medicine he frowned slightly, he didn’t want any help, all he needed was for all these people to leave him alone and let him do what he wanted to do.
Closing his eyes he subconsciously begged the darkness to take him and keep him safe from the world that his physical body was in right now.
He soon felt the darkness partly granting his wish as it pulled him into a dreamless sleep.
The door opened and yet the sleeping form didn’t make any evidence that he heard it or felt the presence that was in the room.
Syaoran approached the bed that the unknown boy slept in. He seemed at peace while he slept yet the pain could still be felt through the ora in the room and around the boy.
Looking down at the figure lying in the bed Syaoran saw only a shell. It was obvious that this boy had lost his hope in life long ago but for someone to loose something so great there must have been a larger source to affect his harmful mind that caused him to bring his body to such painful treatments.
He heard a small moan as the darker haired boy woke, his eyes opened slowly as if he was afraid of what he may wake up to.
His light gaze focused on the newcomer, once again the boy named Syaoran stood in front of him with eyes full of concern.
“Please tell me…what’s your name?” Syaoran spoke after a short silence; still he received no answer just as he had yesterday when he asked that same question.
“If you don’t tell me your name I’ll just name you myself” the boy looked up at the other still not showing any reaction to the statement. “Then you leave me with no choice, I’ll name you for now, until you tell me your actual name…” thinking for a while Syaoran looked back down at the dazed teenager that still lived in his own memories.
“For the mean time you will be called…Jason” feeling a little relived that he could now use a name to refer to the other teenager as, he looked down at the grey eyes.
“Unless…you wish to tell me your real name?” there was still no reply. Nodding he continued to speak to the boy even though he knew he would get no reply.
“I’ll go find the doctor and ask if you can leave the hospital” turning he began to leave the room before he was stoped by a small voice that could hardly be heard if it wasn’t for the quietness of the hospital.
“It…” turning around he looked at the dark haired teen lying in the bed, the boy seemed to be stuck on words as if he hadn’t spoken for a long time. Opening his mouth again words formed on his tongue and he spoke them as they were created “It’s Eriol…my name…its Eriol” Syaoran smiled and nodded glad that he heard the other speak even if it was just a short sentence, closing the door he left in search for the doctor.
Eriol frowned once the door closed, he didn’t understand why he told his name to that boy, he didn’t want to but for some reason his spirit felt it necessary to speak.
Looking back down at his arms he almost pleaded for them to bleed and to end his suffering but they denied this request and continued to feel numb from the blood loss.
Few minutes past before the door opened for the third time that day this time two people entered one Eriol knew now as Syaoran and the other he figured was the doctor.
The doctor looked down at the boy smiling “You had us in a scare for a while, we almost lost you, you are very lucky that Syaoran here found you when he did” Eriol only flickered his view over to Syaoran before he turned his attention back to the doctor who was still speaking.
Watching the doctor he now heard no words and only saw the man’s mouth moving, every now and again he would smile down at Eriol.
Watching him speak but hearing no words was a method that the young teenager seemed to do often, words and the world around him would become silent and he would only observe.
Syaoran hadn’t taken his eyes of the boy that had now confessed to his name being Eriol.
“So alleed eed from you is your address and all the other details” Syaoran tore his eyes off the blue haired teen and nodded towards the doctor who handed him the papers.
Signing it the man smiled “Okay I’ll be stoping by every so often to check up on our young friends condition” Syaoran nodded towards the man.
~~~
It didn’t take very long for Syaoran to get Eriol ready for the move to his place, he had no belongings at the hospital so there was no bags needed. Calling a cab from the hospital Syaoran walked back into the room that held the teenager.
The nurse had unplugged all the machines from Eriol and had replaced his old bandages for new ones.
The brown haired teen walked further into the room, looking up at the young nurse who smiled and walked over to him leaving Eriol sitting on the side of the bed.
“You have to make sure he takes two of these tablets a day, you have to make sure he swallows them and remember to put new bandages on his arm at least twice a week, keep an eye on the wound and if you see any problems about it like it isn’t healing properly and especially if you realise new cuts on his arms if you see this you must contact this number, make sure you don’t leave him alone with sharp objects he may try the same thing” The nurse finished and handed the teenager the papers that held the information that he needed along with a small container of tablets.
Syaoran felt like he was babysitting and that the mother was telling him everything that should and shouldn’t be done, but he also knew it was important information.
“Okay I will” nodding the nurse walked back over to Eriol.
“Are you ready to go now?” not answering the boy just stood with a little help from the bedside table next to him.
Syaoran walked over to the teenager and offered his hand for support. Eriol looked down at the hand not knowing weather to take it or not. He didn’t want any help but he also knew he wouldn’t make it out of the hospital with out it and at the moment that was his biggest goal, to get out of the hospital.
Feeling the darker teens hand slip into his own; Syaoran smiled in a reassuring manor.
Eriol only looked down at the hand that held his, he could feel the warmth in it, he tried to block out the unusual feeling and focused his attention on leaving the hospital grounds even if it meant going to a stranger’s place.
They walked out into the day light, a small yellow taxi waited for them with the passenger door open ready for them to climb in.
Walking up to the door the taxi driver stood holding the door ready to close it after them letting Eriol climb in first Syaoran followed giving the man a quick smile as he did.
The drive was long and was done in silence the only sound was when Syaoran gave the address to the driver and the music that was turned on not long after the drive began.
