Business Dinner

Seishirou looked over towards the table the maîtred had gestured at and briefly nodded his thanks at the man before moving towards it silently, an eyebrow slowly arching in surprise at the young man sitting at it. He paused just behind the chair on the other side of the table where the young artist, and apparently businessman it seemed sat. "Hello, I am Seishirou Sakurazuka... you're Subaru Sumeragi I assume?"

Subaru nodded quietly, his eyes taking the other man while trying to not seem like he was staring at him. Seishirou wore what looked like an expensive suit, possibly Armani, he mused quietly deciding that the older man looked good in it whatever kind of suit it was. After a moment he realized the other hadn't sat down yet and he fought the small blush of embarrassment that threatened to burn his face as he returned his attention back to the matter at hand. "Please sit down, I put off ordering until you arrived."

Seishirou smiled, silently amused by the faint pinkness that stained the cheeks of the younger man as he sat down. "Thank you for both that courtesy and for allowing me to meet you today. I'm sorry our first meeting has to be under just circumstances as these," he murmured as he studied the younger man with amused golden eyes. He was still dressed in the clothes he had seen him in on the promenade earlier, dark loose fitting pants with a pale jade shirt beneath a vest of a darker green that matched his eyes.

Seishirou wondered absently if he dressed himself or if someone picked his clothes out for him, fully intent on drawing other's eyes to him. He chuckled silently inside as he picked up one of the menu's that rested on one side of the table, waiting for other to respond to his thanks and other statement.

Biting back the small sigh that wanted to escape, Subaru followed the older man's actions, picking the remaining menu up as he spoke. "You're welcome," he paused, considering the other statement. "And yes.. it is unfortunate that we have to meet for business instead of pleasure." As soon as the last words escaped, he would have given nearly anything to have them back, especially when the older man looked up over the menu, those golden eyes seeming to reappraise him with amusement. Stifling his discomfort he smiled as if nothing was wrong and adverted his eyes down to the menu, trying not to look as if he were hiding behind it, and knowing by the burning in his face that he had ended up blushing despite his efforts not to.

Seishirou watched him, mentally deciding on his meal as he folded the menu and set aside. He really was cute and amusing for being someone in his position. He wondered idly what he was like in his office, if he would still end up embarrassing himself there, as he seemed to be doing here. Of course he had to wonder how the man had come by the business, he didn't look more than twenty really, mid-twenties at the most he guessed.

After a couple minutes a young waitress walked over towards their table and he received a second little surprise for today as he studied her. He smiled warmly at her and she grinned back at him before speakin

"Hello, welcome to Shay's, my name is Hokuto, are you ready to order?"

Nodding he gave his order while watching the other man look anywhere but at the two of them, he almost imagined that if the poor artist could, he'd crawl under the table to hide. Of course after he saw the wicked gleam that lit up equally green eyes as she turned her attention to him, he thought he could almost sympathize, almost, if it hadn't been so amusing to watch.

Subaru waited until Hokuto had left before giving a small little faint sigh. Sometimes he really thought that whoever had ordered his life had a sadistic sense of humor and enjoyed embarrassing him immensely sometimes. He glanced up at the soft amused chuckle and gave a small half smile. "In case you were erinering why she was so familiar with me, she's my twin sister," he said.

Seishirou nodded in acknowledgement. "I thought you might be.. she seems very 'spirited'." He chuckled again as his word choice gained another soft sigh.

"Spirited isn't the word I'd use."

"Oh..? What would you use then?"

"...possibly overzealous."

Seishirou stifled his amusement at the statement as he watched the subject of their conversation return with his drink and noting that she didn't seemed inclined to leave again anytime soon for the moment. Deciding to have a little fun, he smiled again at her. "Subaru here just told me you were his sister," he began as he picked the cup of coffee up off the table to cautiously take a sip of it, testing its temperature before deciding it could use a moment to cool down enough to drink safely.

She grinned at him, the gleam coming back into her eyes. "Yes I am, of course that doesn't mean he listens to me very much.."

He barely heard the stifled groan that escaped the other man as he raised a brow in query. "He doesn't?" he murmured as he tried to suppress the majority of his amusement to seem concerned at this little piece of information.

She gave her brothe alm almost mournful look before looking back at him. "That's right, I keep telling him that he needs to see someone, get a boyfriend, get out and have fun.. but he never listens to me..."

"That's a shame."

"Yes, I know.. you seem to understand my situation.. would you be willing to try being his boyfriend?"

"Hokuto!"

He lifted a hand muffling the laugh that he couldn't suppress at the startled shock in Subaru's voice and expression. In contrast, his sister looked extremely pleased with herself, reminding of him of a cat Monou Fuuma owned, it had much the same expression when it had managed to torment the object of its owner's affections, or the poor bird that Monou's lover had.

"Well, I'm willing to try," he began, smiling at her again, "but I don't think Subaru cares for the idea, not that I blame him, I'm not very worthy material for such things." He finished the last of his statement in a faintly mournful tone that caused an interesting reaction in the younger man. He watched as an almost panic widened the emerald eyes.

"I didn't say I was against the idea..."

Almost as soon as the words had escaped Subaru's lips he seemed to flush red enough to make a tomato jealous and buried his head in his hands, murmuring something apparently directed at his sister, judging by her cat just ate the canary expression. Whatever was said she just shrugged and turned to leave. "Nonsense, Subaru.. you two look great together! I'll go get your meals, they should be ready by now," she said, moving away from them, through the tables towards the kitchen.

Seishirou decided to finally have a little pity on the other man for the moment and changed the subject. "When should we discuss the merger? Now, during or after the meal?" he asked.

Subaru finally lifted his head out of his hands, giving the older man a faintly grateful look for changing the subject to something serious. He considered for a moment and sighed softly as he gave a small shrug. "Perhaps after or during.. I don't care to be interrupted when discussing such matters and I have this sinking feeling that when she returns she won't leave until after we're eating and she has to go back to her work."

Seishirou nodded ntlyntly in acknowledgement to that before picking the coffee up once again and taking a small drink before recalling what he had been meaning to tell the younger man before he had gotten involved in teasing him. "You left your sketchpad on the bench outside the café today.." He blinked at the word Subaru swore under his breath, perhaps he listened to his sister more than she thought, he didn't think it was in the other man's nature to know such...colorful terms.

"I found it and took it to my rooms at the place I'm staying for the moment, I was planning on giving it back tomorrow when I saw you again, but perhaps you could walk back with me and I can give it to you tonight."

Subaru smiled quietly and nodded his thanks. "I had forgotten I set it down," he paused and looked down at the table, once again uneasy it seemed. "...you didn't happen to look at the work inside did you?"

Seishirou wondered again what had been in that protve sve sleeve, but pushed the thought from his mind as he answered. "Yes, some of it, not all. You're very good though I think. Ever think of going professional?" Emerald eyes looked up a little surprised, and faintly relieved? Interesting.

"No.. not really, its just a hobby. I have other responsibilities pending that wouldn't go well if I tried to."

"Ah.. that's a shame, but I understand how that goes. I uso doo do something back home in Tokyo that I enjoyed, but then certain matters you might say caused me to cut it short and come to America." It looked like Subaru had been about to ask what he had done or perhaps about something else, only he was prevented by the arrival of the food and his twin.

"So, getting along Subaru? I meant what I said before.. you two really look good together!"

Her brother sighed in resignation it seemed and merely picked up the silverware to begin eating. Taking the cue from that he smiled once more at Hokuto before doing the same. After a moment of silence, he looked up and noted that she had left, apparently to begin to do some actual work again. Glancing over towards Subaru, he was vaguely amused to see the other man had just looked up at him at the exact time he had turned his attention towards him. "Shall we get down to business then?" he asked as he relaxed back into his seat, watching the other man.

Subaru nodded quietly before also seeming to relax slightly in his own seat. "Yes, lets."
