Rainy Day

Chapter Two

*Ran’s POV*

I looked out the glass door, rain falling, giving the whole world a dim, dark feeling. Thankfully because of this the shop was practically empty. Only the desperate last minute valentine’s shoppers would come out in this weather.

I let out my breath and continued sweeping theor. or. No fan girls today thank God, that is if God still acknowledges me. I will leave that to those who deserve God.

Before I could continue on my thoughts a loud pounding noise came from the back room. Poor Ken, with Omi hurt from the last mission and Yohji totally out of the question, we are left to leave the books to Hidaka Ken. The option of me doing the books came up but I glared away any other thoughts along that idea. I, Fujimiya Raya tya to them, will never admit my inability to do math. Sure I can do some…just not very well.

I sighed setting the broom against the wall and walked into the back room. Inside was a small table with papers and pencils and calculators scattered all over it. A slumped over brunette, his eyes closed to give up for a moment to the tiredness his mind felt.

I watched him for what seemed like an eternity but was only a few seconds. The light that came from the window at the end of the room played perfectly against those chocolate brown strands of hair in his face. I had a strong temptation to brush the silky hair out of the man’s face. I shook my head some getting those thoughts out of my mind. You can’t let yourself be distracted here… you have a mission… a goal you must complete for Aya-chan.

His eyes slowly opened and glanced towards me and I just watched as his eyes widened a little.

“Aya… I didn’t mean to…I wasn’t sleeping I promise.”

He sat up straight and looked back at the books and sighed. I guess I shouldn’t be too hard on him. After all he is trying his best.

“ I know Ken don’t worry. Maybe you should take some time off we can do the books later ok?”

He stared at me completely surprised. I normally don’t talk as much as I just did there and it’s normally a huge deal when I do. But to say something completely normal sounding was beyond what I do. Normally it’s just too much work to talk so much but I didn’t feel like it was this time.

“Aya… I don’t know… I…”

I cut him off with my hand. Damn him if he’s not going to listen to my words maybe my actions are louder.

“ Now. Go.”

My face was set into seriousness my feet planted on the ground and my finger pointing to the door. He nodded some starting to put the papers away and I shook my head stomping my foot a little empathizing what I wanted.

“I will do it. Go!”

He nodded again and set everything down on the table and walked past me and out to the shop. Good now I will clean this up and leave it for either Ken to finish or maybe Omi will fell up to it later. Right now he should be resting though. I bet he’s on that damn computer of his even after I told him to stay off of it.

After this thought I heard footsteps coming down the stairs and thought that if Ken is coming back that I would yell at him until he got up to his room. Maybe I would sling his slender form over my shoulder and carry him up. I laughed mentally, that would never happen not even in my wildest dreams. I walked out to the shop eyes already moving to the stairs.

“Ken…Omi what are you doing?”

Omi looked at me seriousness on his face as he wd sld slowly to the counter and moving to sit on it. I moved quickly to help him some so he wouldn’t have to strain his muscles.

“I got online to check something about the mission last night. You know how I thought there was something odd about Schwarz?”

I nodded to this. The leader seemed to be a little aggravated at the redheaded telepath.

“I went to the site where I hacked into their mainframe and I came across something very surprising. It seems Schuldig, the telepath, was kicked off the team.”

I looked at him utterly surprised my mouth open wide not caring about what Omi thought about it. Schuldig… was kicked off Schwarz? Why? What did he do? What went on…? Could this mean that Schuldig would want to get at his ex-team mates? Could that be our missing link to beating them for once?

Omi’s head shook he probably knew what was going through my mind right about now.

“ I’m not sure why this is happening…and I’m not sure if we can trust Schuldig anymore then when he was on Schwarz. If he does want revenge… then he might be able to help us but who’s going to stop him from turning on us next? Anyways we’re not even sure if he wanted to leave… we might as well just go on and try to figure out of the old team stays and if new members join the team.”

I nodded to him. I didn’t the like the idea of Omi working on the computer but I guess since he was doing it even after I told him not to, then there is no stopping him. Omi, I guess is like Ken…not wanting to give up. Like me even…not wanting to admit that we can’t do it.

“All right. I want you to be careful and if you feel tired just take a break. I’m not rushing you to find out information. Also, if you do find out more information on this little mess of theirs tell me immediately. All right?”

He nodded and slid off the counter and smiled some. I sometimes wondered if he liked the computer more then even real people. I guess he hasn’t always had friends to rely on but his computer has always been there, something to distract him from his nightmares. He slowly walked past me and up the stairs to the living part of the house.

Who would have known a couple of years ago that I would be living with three other men in an apartment that was connect to a flower shop working for an assassin group. I guess that’s life. You just take what it gives you and try to move on. We all had to learn that lesson… Weiss is built on that lesson. This is something none of us will ever forget for the rest of our lives, however long that is.
