Chapter 2 : Light
His night had been restless. It felt as if he did not want to sleep, his body and mind refused to. Late at night he got out of bed and looked out the window. There was the bright moon, shining in the dark night sky. He stared at it, he did not take his eyes off it. There was something about the moon he liked, but he did not know why. He took time to take his eyes of the moon and look at the book. He had put it beside him as he slept.
Ru: The moon... the light. My light, I need light.
After staring at it for 10 minutes or so, he had felt satisfied and slept in peace holding the book in his hand.
The next day had felt like a new day. But it wasn't. It made no difference. He was going to start and end the day alone wether he liked it or not. I wished it wouldn't have to be that way, but it had to.
The day had passed, It was late afternoon and it was basketball practice. It was the typical hustle and bustle inside the gym. Everyone was active and lively. But Rukawa just sat on the bench and gazed at everyone who passed by.
As he observed everyone, Sakuragi caught his attention. He was the most hyperactive of them all, not to mention his red hair. He moved in such a swift pace and his voice had echoed around. He could do nothing but stare in awe. He never knew that Hanamichi could be that way. So childish, yet so innocent. It was almost hard to believe but he was like an angel playing across the field of clouds.
He was like the moon, the light in the dark night sky. His radiant hair and childish movements had lured Rukawa to stare at him.
Ru: /am i really this crazy now? I'm... I'm.. staring at... him! What is this... this feeling?/
Just as he was about to look away, Sakuragi had noticed him gaze upon him. He questioned his mind, but no answer was found. It was so odd, why Rukawa would stare like that.
Sa: /What does kitsune think he's doing? Trying to distract mThatThat won't work on a genius like me! How stupid of him!/
His and Rukawa's eyes met. They gazed at each other, but Rukawa looked away. He felt a rush of blood to his cheeks, he blushed. Sakuragi still gazed upon the raven haired boy, he saw him blush.
Sa: /is... is he blushing?! No way... he can't be... this is an illusion!/
He wanted to believe that his eyes have decieved him, but it had not. It was true, Rukawa, the cold hearted and blank boy had blushed. And he had blushed while staring at him.
Yet Sakuragi saw through Rukawa's eyes, it wasn't the cold usual eyes he would see. He saw gentle and fond eyes, eyes that looked almost helpless.
It was like time froze, just for a moment for them to see each others gaze, and let the time pass by.
They both did not understand what they felt. They were in a state of confusion. One gaze was more than words could tell, but was it speaking of the truth? None of them knew.
Ru: /That's it, I've made a total fool out of myself now... I'm leaving./
