Note: � I received a review
telling me that Hotaru is a boy� Is that true?? I always thought that that it
was a girl� 0.0 Righties� about the pairings: NOPE! I�m not going to tell you
:) I thought it might be funnier if you guys find out for yourself. That way it
will be a surprise for you people out there.

Thanks for the wonderful reviews. At first I thought it would be a bad idea
since most of the people hate crossovers. But I really love dot hack and that
is the reason why I decided to create this. Please continue to read, and to
love it :) and please drop a review!

Ps. It might be fun to say which pairing you would like to see =) Maybe it can
inspire me, haha =D

It took some time until they reached their destination. They had to go from
server to server, level to level, because most of the servers and levels were
closed down.

Kite had told the Grunty to make detours through high-level servers, and
servers that were instable because of the incident four years ago. It seemed
that CC Corporation had left couple of bugs in the game. But it wasn�t surprising
though� A year ago they had opened some new servers, so it was REALLY huge now.

You could say that you were safe if The World had so many servers, but you were
really dumb if you thought that. Those weird knights were really crawling all
over the place! Searching for players and killing Grunty�s.

The blue haired boy shook his head. He really needed to get some information
about those knights. The questions of why they came here and why they wanted to
kill the players kept ghosting in his head.

It really bothered him that CC Corporation hadn�t done one single thing to stop
this. They created this blasted game, didn�t they?! Then why couldn�t they stop
it? Buy a good firewall of anti-virus! You should think that they would�ve
learned something after the big incident four years ago.

But noooo� Now was everyone expecting that the dot hacker Kite would be his or
her big savior again. And of course he would be, because he couldn�t turn his
back on his friends.

He had asked himself many times who that player was, that was waiting for them
at their destination. The Grunty had told them that he recognized that player,
but that he had forgotten its name. Sad�

Anyway, the two dot hackers jumped off the Grunty and the cow looking creature
told them that he was going to search other gamers. So when Balmung and Kite
waved it goodbye they turned around to see the dungeon.

Thankfully it wasn�t a dungeon, but a church. Well, more like a ruin� You could
see holes in the roof and the walls. Like something big had happened here.

� Shall we go inside? � Asked Balmung a little uncertain.

� Yes. We need to find who is waiting for us. It can be a trap, but it can also
mean a new ally fore our team. And admit it, we need every sword, fist, knife
or staff we can

get �

� You are right� � Answered the white knight. � Lets go� �

� All right �

Kite pushed the enormous wooden doors open. Church singing began to feel his
ears and in the real life he almost dropped his controller. It really sounded
beautiful and if he listened closely to it, he could he that they were singing
in Latin.

Yes, it was defiantly Latin. If he ever
got some free time he was going to translate it. But for now he needed to keep
focused. The light was very dim in the church and rats walked over his boots.

� I really don�t like this place � Pouted Balmung when he tried to shake a rat
off his foot. � I hate rats �

Kite grinned and gave to signal to continue on.

� Come on, don�t get scared now �

� I�m not scared, watch your words now! �

� yeah yeah� Just teasing you �

They continued on and stopped walking when they saw a figure sitting against
the wall. It couldn�t be�

� You are� � Began Balmung when he saw a boy with gray hair. � Tsukasa�? �

The boy looked up and watched the duo with his sadden eyes from head to toe.

� Are you here to capture me? Well, go ahead. I don�t care anyway� �

� Hold on! We are certainly not with those knights � Snorted Kite. � I�m
Kite and this here is Balmung� �

� You are Kite�? I�ve heard about you, how you saved the world and stuff. If I
were you I would�ve just let everyone get eaten by that pesky virus� I don�t care

what happens to everyone� �

� How can you say something like that?! People need to protect each other in
times of need! �

� Is that so? Then why do people continue to hurt and kill each other? �

Kite bit on his lower lip and grabbed his daggers. What the HELL was wrong with
this guy? However he got pushed back by Balmung and lowered grumbling his
daggers.

� We�re here to find other players, do you have a clue where we can find them? �

� No �

� Do you have any idea what is going on? �

� No �

� How long has it been like this? � asked Kite quickly, before Balmung got the
chance to continue.

� No idea� �

This was not going to work. The gray haired treated the two of them like trash
and nothing seemed to interest him. So the duo decided to leave this boy be and
continue their search of other players. However, when they wanted to turn
around to walk away they saw how the gray haired stood up.

� You two are going to try to find other players right? I�m going with you two,
I�m in search of someone too� �

Kite was about to complain, but Balmung made him shut up with the words � We
need all the help we can get � and he was right. Even if this person was a pain
in the ass, they needed him. And besides he was a Wavemaster so he could heal
and support them with spells when they fought monsters, so maybe he could be
useful.

Balmung helped Tsukasa back on his feet and the trio began to make their way
back to the grasslands.

The blue haired boy placed his arm before the other two when they wanted to
exit via the dooropening.

� What�s wrong? � asked the white knight.

� Do you hear that? I think they knights are outside� �

Balmung raised his head a little and closed his eyes. Yes, he could indeed hear
voices but he couldn�t make out what they were saying though.

� I can�t believe that they found us here � Growled the white knight.

� I don�t think they did. I somehow think that this is just a coincidence
however, we

need to be silent. One wrong move and we are done for� �

� Why don�t we fight them, and be done with it � Came an annoyed voice from the
back. Tsukasa held his magical staff before his chest and he seemed to be ready
for a bloody battle.

� Not a chance� � Replied Kite when he looked through the keyhole of he huge
door. � These guys aren�t to be taken lightly. I fought them before, and I couldn�t
lay one finger on them even though my level is at 89 �

Tsukasa mumbled something but eventually he lowered his staff. It seemed that
he trusted him by his word�

� Damn! They are coming this way! Hurry, hide behind the door! �

The trio quickly ran to the left side of the door, so then when it would be
opened it would cover them completely.

They heard how footsteps entered the church and Tsukasa did one step rightwards
to see who it was.

Six knights had entered the church and they were talking to each other. But
they talked so soft that it could barley be heard.

� How many of them are there? � Whispered Kite.

� Six � Whispered Tsukasa back. � They are armed with all kind of weapons,
potions and charms� You are right, we can�t fight them head on �

� So what are we going to do? � Asked Balmung with shaking knees. The door almost
crushed him.

� I have no idea� � Replied Kite.

� Well, I have � Said Tsukasa absently, busy watching every movement of the
knights. � I can cast a spell on the other side of the church to distract them.
Then we make a run for it and escape to another level �

� Okay, let�s give it a shot � Smiled Kite.

Tsukasa gave a nod and raised his staff a little.

� Vak don � chanted the Wavemaster softly.

In the distance you could hear a faint explosion. Tsukasa had used a level one-fire
spell and like he predicted, the event stole the knights� attentions. They ran
to the back of the church and that was the cue for the trio to leave.

In real life, Kite pressed his controller with all the might he had in his
thumbs. His hands were all sweaty and his body was shaking because of the
adrenaline. They had escaped somehow, and their entire HP was still full.

They ran the grasslands while fighting monsters. And it wasn�t easy since they
were on a very high level server. But since they were with the three of them,
they could gang up on one monster at a time and bomb him with attacks and
magic.

� Thunder dance! � Said Kite, and finished the monster with a single blow.

� I raised a level � Smiled Balmung when he saw that 200 HP had been added to
him HP bar.

Kite smiled and wanted to suggest moving on, but before he could say anything they
heard a voice behind them.

� We finally found you �

They turned around and saw the six knights�

And they weren�t happy�
