“Aya-chan!” Tohru smiled her
famously bright smile and hugged the person in front of her tightly. A way she would
NEVER be able to hug the boys unless they called for it first… and somehow that
just struck a jealous cord in the nervous system of one of three males. “What
are you doing here?”
“I’m here because I love you.” He whispered into Tohru’s
hair. “And to apologize. I called a week ago and JUST
found out about Kyoko-sama.” He took a step back to look at Tohru. “My mom and
dad didn’t tell me about what had happened…”
“It’s okay, you’ve been busy with
school and everything.” Tohru smiled the very smile that hid any other emotions
she had been feeling...
“Oh!! You’re still so sweet!” He hugged her again. “It’s
okay if you wish to hate me right now. I mean Kyoko-sama had been the one who
encouraged me to go to America. When I found out my heart just sank. I knew
my parents didn’t want me calling you or writing you since they never gave me
the address or number you had after you moved from your original home. So I had
been asking them to pass messages along. And if they didn’t tell me about
Kyoko-sama… then they didn’t tell you a thing.” He stepped back. “But still
it’s no excuse to not come home on summer breaks and…”
“I’m happy you’re here now!”
“Yo!” Kyo just HAD to interrupt. “I’m hungry.”
“I’m sorry!” Her “panic” face, as Kyo had fancied calling it,
took place. The one where the hairs on her head stuck out a bit… it was the
look she got when she felt she was being inadequate in any way. She then ran
into the kitchen. Aya just smiled after her with a whimsical smile on his face,
but the depths of his eyes… they told a different story. A story that Yuki
recognized so well, after all… his eyes once mirrored the same gaze.
“Huh?” The boy’s face turned to shock as he ducked barely
dodging the fist belonging to Arisa.
“You JERK!” Arisa shifted direction and angled downward
making Aya roll out of the way before standing and found himself face to face
with the psychic girl herself, Hanajima.
“You too?” He looked at the blank
eyes of Hanajima before smoothly moving to hold the psychic in front of him
stopping another punch from the tall girl.
“Don’t break my house up!” Shigure commented from the side
line with his little fan, meanwhile both the cat and rat stood off to the side
watching the whole thing happen with awed looks. If this were an anime their jaws
would be to the floor and they’d be in somewhat chibi form.
“Where the hell have you been in the past three years?” Her
punches became in sync with her words.
“I was in America
you know that.” He had been backing up towards the outside door.
“NOT. GOOD. ENOUGH.” Her words grew louder before watching
him fall from the elevated porch to the ground in alarm. “I’ll kill you!” The words screamed in her mind but reality fell
into focus when the boy hadn’t been moving. “Shit…”
The word replaced her hatred as she
jumped down to check, no blood had been poured, but there was a hefty knot in
his skull from the rock his head had fell upon. Hanajima made her slow trot to
the doorway and looked at the unconscious person.
“Uhmm… Aya, are you staying for dinner?” Tohru had come back
out wondering exactly how much should she be cooking for only to find everyone
looking towards the doorway where Arisa had been kneeling and struggling a bit
to lift up the fallen boy.
“AYA?!?” Sheer shock had made its
way on her face.
“Yuki, I would at least expect you to help.” Shigure added
bringing the boy back to reality. As soon as he had taken a step Arisa begun to
protest to the action…
”Don’t or-” Arisa struggled before placing the body on the floor with the most
peeved look she could conjure.
“That hurt woman…” Aya sat up rubbing the knot.
“You deserved worst.” She muttered turning her back on the
boy making a sad look take place on his face before it vanished.
“Babe you know I’d do anything, like holing myself in America
to hide from you.” He smiled softly and stood dusting himself off before
yawning. For once since the boy had arrived fatigue could be seen on his face.
“Yes, I’ll be staying for dinner Tohru-chan...” He smiled a soft smile at her.
“…If the lovely Arisa and Hanajima will be staying around as well.” He smiled watching both females give him the
scariest glares they could conjure up on short notice.
“Wonderful!” Tohru squealed a happy squeal… something not to
be heard from the girl….ever. Sje’s had laughter, she’s
had smiles, but not once could any recall her squealing. Even more so from the
kitchen happy energy radiated from the room where the girl was working; Once
more if this were an anime there would be happy wavy yellow lines.
“So…Aya…” Yuki looked at the boy who just sat down. “You
live in America?”
“I go to school there.” He smiled brightly at the boy, once
more making Yuki aware of the looks the boy possessed. “I usually go all year
even through the summer time there but after finding about Kyoko-san…”
“Like we’re supposed to believe that you didn’t know about
Kyoko.” Arisa found herself spitting out venomously. Aya sighed softly and
looked at the group Tohru surrounded herself with. Hanajima and Arisa to her
far right, keeping distance between them, to her left were three males.
“Arisa-san.” His lips had been
pulled into a thin line. “Better yet, Souma-Sans…” his grey eyes zeroed in on
Yuki and Kyo at once.
“Don’t call me “Souma-San”” Kyo taunted.
“Kyo-san?” Discomfort on the boys
face proved he had been out of touch with his Japanese culture long enough to
lose idea of titles for people.
“Feh…” Kyo merely turned away
obviously in disgust with the title.
“Kyo-kun, Souma-kun…” He finally decided upon looking at the
two boys for rejection. “You both retrieved my dear Tohru from the home of our
grandfather. You had a chance to meet her Aunt an Uncle… at least that’s what
I’ve heard.”
“You heard correctly.” Yuki’s eyes fell into slits. ‘Our grandfather…?’ was still ringing in
his head as he tried to decipher his relationship to Tohru. Brother? No, Tohru
would’ve mentioned him. Cousin maybe?
“Those lame excuses for people.” Kyo muttered… honestly did
the boy have the word “tact” in his vocabulary?
“Enough said.” Aya said. “My mother and father are terrible
excuses for people, just like my sister and brother. They get it from them.”
Ding ding ding! Cousin was the relation. “They hated Kyoko with a passion. They
felt as if she were a disgrace to them and the family…” Aya stopped and sighed.
“But to make a long story short I can’t stand my parents and well…I stayed in America
until I left yesterday afternoon and arrived at the airport two hours ago!”
“Don’t you suffer from jet lag, with a fourteen hour flight?”
Hanajima stated more like…a statement rather than a question.
“Mhm…” Aya nodded sleepily. “But no sleep
until later. Can I use your bathroom?” Yuki stood and led the boy the
way.
“I don’t like him.” Kyo muttered turning to sulk in his own
corner. I don’t like him at all…
