A noticeable change

It was raining the first time I saw you two together.

I don’t know why, but I watched as you two walked by.

Neither of you noticed me.

I watched, feeling hatred toward your lover and feeling hurt by you.

I wanted you to be with me the way you are with your lover.

I wanted you in my bed, keeping me warm at night.

I wanted to hold you close that it seemed we were one.

However, seeing you two together also set truth to the light.

If I wanted you, I would have to tear you two apart.

I wanted your lover ...dead.

I thought of what I could do, but realized it would never work.

I knew because you were living with your lover.

I also noticed how you two looked.

I noticed how one of you began to swell.

Everyone noticed that.

I couldn’t believe it.

I followed you two one night.

I was going to kill you both since you would never be mine.

But then I saw it, for the first time.

I saw how you were so happy in your lover’s arms.

I knew then even if I killed both of you.

I would still never have you.

I left you two there, silently wishing you the best of luck.

Maybe, I thought, you would come to me when you were no longer in love.

That hope keeps me alive.

One day I will have you in my bed.

For that is all I want from you.

Because I saw how noticeable the change in you two was.
