Attraction
By Courtney (aka MidnightsKeeper)
There were a few things that Suguru was sure of.
One was that Shuichi was most definately gay. Flamboyantly so at times. Another was that Hiro
was at least bi. Some of the things that went on between Bad Luck’s singer and guitarist were a
little more than friendly. He was certain that Hiro must at least feel some attraction towards the
opposite sex, even if it was reserved for Shuichi. Of course, with a slight tendency toward
Shuichi, he was certain there was at least an interest in others of the male persuasion as well. The
other thing he knew was that Hiro had caused a reaction in him that wasn’t entirely
unpleasant.....not unpleasant at all actually. As a matter of fact, he had liked the sensation quite a
lot and wished to feel it again.
There was one thing that Suguru was not so sure of.
What was he? Was he gay? Or bi maybe? He had always assumed he liked girls; he just hadn’t
had time to worry about them. Though, in light of recent...developments...he supposed they may
not have caught his interest enough for him to worry about them. Now he was going to worry. A
lot too. He could deal with worrying about his own sexuality, that was a very private affair. He
was also convinced that his reaction was more in response to the actual touch than the gender of
the person doing the touching. Suguru Fujisaki would know if he were homosexual. It wasn’t
something you just discovered one day.
Other issues weren’t so easy to deal with. Imagine the scandal if the public found out that two of
the three members of Bad Luck were gay and the other one was as good as. Sure, people were
okay with Shuichi, but that didn’t mean they would be okay with another homosexual. Some of
the public was understanding and they wouldn’t lose much fanbase if any at all. But that wasn’t
even the worst part. Suguru’s family was not so liberal. He was very aware of his father’s
opinion of Shuichi and was almost forced to quit the band because of it. His mother had seemed
to agree and Suguru had come perilously close to missing his chance to live his dream. Tohma
had eventually talked them out of it, for which he was grateful, but at the same time in infuriated
him the way his parents seemed to worship Tohma. The same way everyone did.
The only one who didn’t seem to mind was his sister, Emi, but she was already in love with Bad
Luck by the time Shuichi and Yuki endured their primetime spotlight. Then she was ecstatic
because she was in love with Yuki Eiri as well. Suguru hadn’t wanted to dissapoint her either, so
he never told her what a jackass Yuki really was. He preferred her support of the band and it was
funny to watch her and her friends gush over any pictures of Shu and Yuki together. Besides
that, she probably would have hit him anyway. She didn’t take well to people pissing her off. It
had also been nice that someone was supportive at the time. Even though he had changed his
parent’s minds, he wasn’t sure that Tohma was all that ecstatic about Shuichi’s sexual perference
either. In the end he had come to the conclusion that the majority of his family, Emi excluded,
was not supportive of alternative lifestyle choices.
But he was getting ahead of himself. He didn’t even know if he liked guys. He would just have
to find out. First by going on a date. With a girl of course. If that went well, he wouldn’t worry
about it anymore. If it didn’t go well, then he’d hang out with Hiro and Shu more. Only for
research into the problem of course. If anyone could give him any ideas on how to approach this,
it was those two. And the best part was that they wouldn’t even know they were helping. Suguru
would be damned if they found out what was bothering him. That would only mean a very lot of
embarrassing trouble. Mostly from Shuichi. He definitely didn’t want Hiro to know either.
Hanging out with them would be the best solution. Though it was what got him into this mess in
the first place.
He was currently sitting in a booth in a new club nursing a daquiri and watching Hiro and
Shuichi dance. The entire reason they had been climbing over that stupid wall in the first place
was so that they could come to the opening of this club. K had decided that some forced
overtime was in order and three of them hadn’t been so enthusiastic about the idea. Running and
bullets had ensued and now he was brooding in a corner. He could think of many better ways to
spend a Saturday night. Of course, he would be having fun if he quit worrying so much. He did
dedicate the vast majority of his time to work, but he had loosened up recently and decided to
join Hiro and Shu on their frequent excursions to Tokyo hotspots. He told himself it was to
develop their working relationship, but really it was because they had started to become friends.
He even started calling them Hiro and Shu instead of Nakano-san and Shindou-san. They also
called him Su-chan on occasion which he didn’t like, but tolerated once in awhile because they
were only trying to get him to have more fun.
Like right now. He had adamantly refused to dance earlier, but he knew they wouldn’t give up so
easily. They rarely did. He could see them coming his way right now. They looked determined
and he wondered if they would resort to dragging him this time. It wasn’t all that unbelievable.
They had dragged him places before. He looked up and smiled preparing for the worst.
“Come on Suguru! What’s the point of escaping from K if you’re not going to enjoy it!” Shuichi
exclaimed. He was obviously a little more than tipsy, but that wasn’t surprising since Shuichi
couldn’t hold his liquor at all. Suguru suspected they would be carrying him out. Again.
“He’s right, you know,” Hiro said. He had a little smirk on his face and Suguru expected the
worst. Hiro may have been nice and mild-mannered most of the time, but he could be devious
too. Right now that little smirk said as much.
“Better come with us or we’ll resort to drastic measures,” Shu warned.
“Drastic measures?” Suguru asked with confusion.
“Yes. We have ways of getting what we want.” The devious smirk never left Hiro’s face.
“And what, might I ask, are these ways?” Suguru raised an eyebrow in question.
“Well, if you don’t come and have fun, we’ll go ask some random person to dedicate a song to
you and have them then declare their undying love while the DJ singles you out with the
spotlight over there. If I’m feeling particularly evil, I could also make that person a guy,” Hiro
said. The smirk had gone from devious to evil with unsettling ease. Suguru had no doubt that
they would indeed have some random man confess his undying love. It would probably also be
very believable and people would start noticing the fact that they were indeed celebrities.
“You wouldn’t,” Suguru said hoping that Hiro might change his mind.
“Would you like to find out?”
No such luck.
Hiro’s voice had become very low and threatening in a very enticing way. He had an extremely
sexy voice. Wait, what? Had Suguru just thought of his voice as sexy? This was going to be a
long night.
Once again, Suguru was confused.

I know, I know you want to see the dancing, but I didn’t want to make you wait any longer! I’ll
try to have the next chapter out sooner than this one. I’m starting to get into this story more.
