Game 02: Go

-Game 2: Go-

Shindou Hikaru stretched, smiling at the warm feel of the sun on his face and the smell of fresh air. For the past couple of hours he had been kneeling in front of a goban, playing a game against another pro, and it was nice to be outside again. Walking with him was his friend and rival, Touya Akira, who, just last week, had confessed feelings for his brash counterpart. Hikaru had been overjoyed when it happened, as he had planned on revealing his own feelings at the same time.

As the two walked silently down the street away from the Go Institute, Hikaru ran over that meeting in his mind. A confession in the men's bathroom, followed by a kiss so long it had made his lips go numb. Unfortunately, that had been the extent of their relationship so far. Over the weekend they had both had study sessions with other pros, and, in Touya's case, a go tutoring session at the go salon his father owned. It annoyed Hikaru that their schedules as go pros had interfered with any ideas he had wanted to make into realities since their kiss.

He shook his head and smiled. He wouldn't think of such things today, for he and Akira had planned to spend most of the day together. He put his hands behind his head as he walked, thinking of things that they could do. He thought of taking the green haired boy out for lunch, perhaps at the ramen stand that he frequented. Taking him to a movie also crossed the blonde's thoughts, and he began to try and remember which films were currently showing in the theaters around town.

"Where are we going?" Akira asked, jolting his partner back to reality.

"Oh, um... I don't know. I was just thinking about that," he said, "You have anything in mind?"

"I want to play," Touya replied.

The response had come faster than Hikaru was anticipating, and he blinked several times before it registered. He sighed. He had just been playing go, and as much as he loved the game, right now he would much rather go someplace secluded and pretend that his rival was a lollipop. He should have known better, though. Akira had been raised on go and the blonde knew that it was, and always would be, the most important thing in his life. He looked over at the other boy and nodded lightly.

"The salon?" he asked.

Akira shook his head, causing a wave of confusion to overtake Hikaru. "I... don't feel like playing in a crowded place with people hovering over our game."

"Oh..." Hikaru mumbled, having been thrown off a bit. They always played at the salon with the old geezers hovering, so what made today different? "I have a goban at home, we could play there."

Hikaru wasn't sure what to make of the twitch at the corner of his partner's mouth as he nodded, but he decided to let it go. They shifted direction, heading now for the blonde's humble suburban home, talking quietly about the game that Hikaru had played. Despite the talk, however, Hikaru began to wonder what it would really mean to have a person he was attracted to as much as he was to Akira in his room. He laughed inwardly, pointing out to himself that the other was very well mannered and proper and wouldn't let him do anything.

After a few minutes more of walking, they arrived at the Shindou household and Hikaru fished out his key. They entered, each removing his shoes, and the blonde called out to his mother that he was home. When he got no response, he went back to the kitchen, Akira following behind, to try and find her. Instead he found a note on the table that informed him that his mother had gone to visit a friend and that he would have to order something for dinner. Out of the corner of his eye he saw his companion looking at the note.

"She's not here," Hikaru sighed, laying the note back on the table and walking over to the refrigerator, "Want something to drink? We have ramune, Coke, some tea..."

"Ramune sounds nice," was the reply.

Hikaru grabbed two bottles and motioned for Akira to follow him. He lead the other boy back down the hallway from the kitchen and up the stairs to his bedroom. He stepped aside, letting his rival enter first, then followed and instinctively shut the door behind him. He walked over, set the bottles of ramune on his desk, and pulled his goban into the middle of the floor.

"So this is the room of Shindou Hikaru, eh?" Akira mused, more to himself than to Hikaru, as he glanced around the room. Something on the blonde's desk caught his eye and he walked over and picked it up, examining it further. "Calligraphy?" he asked puzzled.

"I'm not completely without culture!" Hikaru bristled, snatching the paper away from his partner and shoving it into the drawer that held other reminders of Sai.

"I'm sorry, Shindou. I didn't mean it like that..." Akira said softly. He was looking at the floor, and his neatly trimmed bangs were shawdowing his eyes.

Hikaru felt a twinge of guilt at having snapped at him. He walked over and brushed Akira's soft, green hair out of his eyes, smiling at him.

"I'm the one who should be apologizing. I shouldn't have snapped at you like that."

The taller boy nodded, returning Hikaru's smile. For a moment they just stood there, staring at each other, but then Akira's gentle smile turned into an almost impish grin. In an instant his arms were around Hikaru and he had pressed their lips together. The swift motion caught the blonde off guard and he fell against the other, causing them both to fall onto the bed.

Their position left Hikaru practically on top of Akira and he decided to use the advantage to assert his position. He broke the kiss only long enough to make himself more comfortable over his partner, then pressed his lips once more to Akira's. The green haired boy's lips were soft and Hikaru found himself wanting to taste them as much as he could. He slowly ran his tongue over them and was delighted when they parted to allow him access to the mouth.

All of his needs and desires seemed to have burst forth in his body as Hikaru sucked on the other boy's tongue. So many ideas began running through his head, some almost innocent, others not so much. It was all he could do to keep from ripping off Akira's clothes and... and... He suddenly became aware that his pants seemed to be tighter than usual. The blonde felt the blush enter his cheeks, but was able to keep from breaking the kiss anymore than the usual bouts of breathing. Instead, he traced a hand down Touya's chest and over his hip, noticing that he wasn't the only one excited.

The discovery of the bulge in Akira's nice, pressed khakis only fueled the images running through Hikaru's mind. without really thinking about what he was doing, he began to unbutton the other's shirt. The difficulty of undoing the buttons with one hand, however, made him pay attention to what he was doing. He reluctantly broke the kiss and gazed down into those deep green eyes, glancing quickly to the stubborn pieces of plastic as he struggled with them. He was very grateful when Akira began helping him.

As they unbuttoned the buttons, Hikaru began to kiss his partner's jawline and down his neck, relishing in the slightly salty taste of his skin. He sucked lightly at the little curve where the neck blends to the shoulder, mentally purring when Akira turned his head to the side. Before he knew it, they had managed to get all the buttons unhooked. He leaned up from that sweet neck and gazed down at the other boy again, using his free hand to push the fabric away from his chest and off his shoulder.

Hikaru had never seen Touya Akira like this, and the vision of him took his breath away. He knew that his companion was beautiful, it was something he had always known, whether he wanted to admit it or not. Now, the sight of his rival beneath him, his smooth chest exposed, made him see an entirely new beauty. Akira's skin was fair and soft, marked only by the small brown circles that were his nipples. The blonde hesitated for only a moment before trailing his hand over the other boy's chest, making rings around his nipple with his finger. He grinned when Akira shivered.

"You're so beautiful," he whispered before he returned his mouth to Touya's flesh.

He could feel the boy beneath him shiver again from the gentle kisses being placed along his chest. Hikaru moved closer and closer to one of the little brown circles, and then finally took the nipple into his mouth, causing Akira to arch up towards him. He ran his tounge over and around it, sucked on it, and even, very gently, bit it. He was vaguely aware that Akira's fingers were intertwining themselves in his two-toned hair, and he found the sensation very pleasant. Finally he let his hand drift downwards and his hand brushed the bulge contained within the tweed fabric.

Instantly he felt Akira tense up. "Don't..." he heard the green haired boy breath.

"Why not?" Hikaru demanded, immediately realizing how selfish that sounded.

"I... I'm not ready..." Akira replied apologetically as he sat up, which caused Hikaru to twist rather awkwardly into a sitting position to keep from falling off the bed.

Hikaru leaned over and kissed Akira's flushed cheek. "It's all right," he said soothingly, "And I'm sorry. I let myself get carried away." He wrapped his arm around his partner, holding him gently.

******

Hikaru wasn't sure how long he and Akira had been cuddling on his bed. The light pouring into his room from between the blinds on his window was the gold colour of the setting sun, so he figured he had probably dozed off. In fact, as he looked down at his partner's face, he discovered that he was still fast asleep.

'He looks almost angelic,' he thought to himself.

Suddenly the door downstairs slammed shut and he heard the sound of a bag and keys being dropped on a table. He then heard his mother announce her arival from the front hall and realized that he had completely forgotten about her. Akira bolted upright and looked around the room, the haze of sleep not yet having let go. When he did so, his shirt fell off one shoulder, and Hikaru felt a surge of panic.

"Tss, Touya! Button your shirt!" he hissed. He could hear his mother coming upstairs to check on him.

His partner blinked, coming somewhat closer to conciousness, and nodded. He started to hook the little, round pieces of plastic into the slits of the shirt as fast as he could. Hikaru grabbed a manga off his shelf and flopped back on his bed, opening it to whatever page it happened to open to, and watched anxiously as each button was buttoned. Fate was on their side, and Akira finished with the last little oval right before Mrs. Shindou opened the door.

"Hikaru, have you had di- Oh, hello," she said, spotting Akira.

"Uh, Mom, this is Touya Akira. I play go with him," Hikaru replied to her unanswered question. Akira bowed his head respectfully.

"Ah. Well, have you boys had dinner? I got home a little early, so I thought I'd order Chinese," she smiled, "You're welcome to stay, Touya-kun."

"Thank you. I appreciate it," he replied.

"Chinese sounds great, Mom," Hikaru exclaimed with his usual energy. Thankfully that was enough for her, and she retreated back downstairs to call in the order. Watching her go, Hikaru sighed and slumped down on his bed. "That was close..."

Akira just nodded, smiling a bit to himself.
