Disclaimer:
I do not own Gravitation, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Onigiri, Wasabi, Licorice, and Jelly Beans?
Author’s Note: Thanks Alex Wheaton for the ideas and story title; you rock! Another thanks goes out to a reviewer named Chiquitina
Animefreak20006: Yay; I’m finally back!
Yuki: Are you still trying to write? I thought I told you to hang it up!
Shuichi: Oh no, not this bitch again!
Animefreak20006: That’s it (whips out .44 caliber pistol and points it at Shuichi and Eiri); I have had it with all the sass and backtalk out of you two. You guys had better show me the fucking respect I deserve or so help me, I will kill the both of you!
In Unison “Yes, Ma’am.”
Animefreak20006: That’s more like it; Shuichi read the disclaimer.
Shuichi: She does not own us; we belong to Maki Murakami and everyone who had a part in creating us. She only gets to toy with us; enjoy the story.
The next morning, Shuichi woke up bright and early; so, he decided to prepare breakfast for him and the novelist. On his way to the kitchen, his stomach started to flip causing him to rush to the bathroom.
“Uhh… What’s wrong with me,” Shuichi muttered while staring into the porcelain bowl he was currently hunched over.
A few moments later, Eiri woke up and he attempted to roll over and kiss the pop star but, he accidentally slid off the bed, taking the sheets with him.
“Well that’s one way to wake up,” Eiri thought while trying to unravel himself out of the sheets.
“Uhh….” Another bout of vomit racked his body.
The novelist heard his lover moaning and went to the bathroom door.
“Hey, are you jacking off in there? Whey not allow me to solve that problem,” Eiri joked before opening the door.
When he opened the door, the sight before him stunned him into silence. He saw his lover doubled over and clinging to the toilet. Eiri walked over to his shaking lover and rubbed his back hoping that he would feel better soon. When another wave of upchuck ripped through his pink-haired lover, the novelist left to acquire the Wal-greens Anti-Nausea (1) because he wanted Shuichi to recover as soon as possible; he also knew that Bad Luck was very important to him(in fact, he never ceased talking about it when they first met). If he had come down with flu, Bad Luck would have to be put on hiatus; that would spell disaster for their careers. Yuki soon returned with the medicine which he immediately administered to Shuichi. Then he carried him back to their bedroom; he gently laid Shindou on the bed. After securely tucking in his lover, Eiri retrieved a thermometer.
“Hm… his temperature is only 98.7 degrees; but why is he sick? Maybe it’s something he ate; I’d better arrange an appointment with Doctor Andrew just in case it turns out to be something more serious.”
Eiri picked up the receiver and called the doctor.
“Hello, and welcome to Blue Trinity United Hospital; this is Tiffany. How may I be of service to you?”
“Hi, need to speak with Doctor Andrew.”
“Okay; one minute please.”
“Doctor Andrew speaking.”
“Hey, Andrew, I was calling to schedule an appointment.”
“What pray tell is the dilemma?”
“It’s Shuichi; he has been vomiting all morning. I checked his temperature to see if he had a fever; he didn’t have one. So what do you think the problem is?”
“Well, I’m unable to determine anything at this moment; it could be any number of things. What I can do is schedule that appointment you requested; be in my office no later than Tuesday at 3:00p.m. Take care of him; if you notice any changes in his normal behavior notify me immediately and I will cancel my other clients to verify what you can do about his condition(s).”
Thanks, I will keep you updated,” with that he replaced the receiver and went to check on his lover.
Shuichi was sleeping peacefully. Eiri thought it’d be best not to disturb him so, he went to his laptop in order to continue typing his novels. However, Eiri wanted to keep an eye on his lover; so he decided to type his novels in the bedroom.
A few hours later, Shindou began to stir.
“Yuki, what happened to me?”
“Earlier today you were feeling a bit under the weather; well to be a little clearer, you were nauseated. I phoned the doctor shortly afterwards to arrange and appointment if you felt worse. “So how are you?”
“Better, though I am extremely hungry.”
“What would you like for dinner?”
“Onigiri with licorice, jellybeans, and wasabi (3).”
“Onigiri (2) with licorice, jellybeans, and wasabi? Are you sure?”
“Yes; what are you having?”
What in the blue hell is wrong with him? He normally eats things that would make me cringe but, this is bizarre even for him
“Yuki; this is Earth calling novelist Eiri Yuki.”
That derailed his train of thought.
“What?”
“I said what are you eating?”
“Sushi and miso soup.” Now are you absolutely sure that’s what you want to eat?” If you’ve changed your mind, now’s the time to inform me.”
“That’s the only thing I crave at this particular moment.”
“Okay.”
Eiri left to prepare their meals although; he still felt it odd of Shuichi to crave such a peculiar meal. The weirdest food combination he’d ever witnessed his lover consume is vanilla ice cream with French fries (4).
Hm…maybe I should call him back well; his condition hasn’t worsened so there’s really no need.
When dinner was ready, Eiri brought Shuichi into the living room because he didn’t want anything spilled on the bed. Then they sat on the couch to eat; the novelist couldn’t help but stare as his lover ate that strange meal. Shuichi looked up and noticed Eiri’s heated stare.
“Is something wrong?”
“It’s nothing; I was just lost in thought.”
“Oh, okay,” Shindou replied as he sunk his teeth into his food.
Although he had more to eat, he stilled managed to finish before the novelist. He even licked the plate.
“You weren’t hungry were you?” After a meal like that I know you’re thirsty; so, what’ll it be?”
“Rooibos (pronounced Roy-bus) tea (5).
Since when do you drink that stuff?
"At one of our earlier concerts, I had nervous tension and hypertension so, Hiro suggested that I have some and viola; all my problems were over."
“Unfortunately, we don’t have any at the moment so green tea will have to do for now.”
While Eiri waited for the water to boil, he grabbed a beer out of the fridge and drank it. In about three minutes the water came to a boil; then he put in the tea bag.
“How much sugar do you want?”
“About ¾ tsp.”
Eiri then stirred the tea and headed back over to the sofa to join Shuichi. The pop star turned on the television in order to watch his and Eiri’s favorite anime: Sailor Moon.
“Fighting evil by moonlight, when in love by daylight-,”
"Shuichi you do know that this is the Sailor Stars season and that they have modified the opening theme song right?"
“No.”
In truth the novelist didn’t want him to start dancing and get carried away like he normally does because he might put too much strain on himself and end up back in the bathroom.
”Chibi-Chibi hit Seiya in the face with a piece of cake,” Shuichi managed to squeeze in between his fits of laughter. “Oh man now she’s trying to remove his towel (he was buck naked under there); that’s quality television right there.”
Shuichi was laughing so hard that he almost fell off the couch. When the program was over, they took a shower and went to bed. Eiri moved his lover so that Shindou had his head resting on the novelist’s chest. The novelist kissed him on the forehead and said,” I love you.” “And I love you too.” Then the dark hand of slumber claimed them.
(1)-That stuff really works and this is also a shameless plug.
(2)-Rice balls
(3)-Horseradish (no lie)
(4)-Don’t knock it, ‘til you try it
(5)-It actually does clear those ailments and it’s very tasty; here are the specifics on what it helps with: health problems such as insomnia, irritability, headaches, nervous tension, and hypertension
