Chapter Two


The night was approaching and the moon was rising up into the sky, engulfing the room with darkness. It was a cold, empty feeling. A feeling of being alone, almost a dead-like way. Only warmth in the room was the bonding the two boys made with each other. They continued to hold each other until the sun settled down passed the horizon. Rai pulled away from Ren and rose up to look down at him. His eyes were saying so much at one time, it was difficult to read what he was feeling. The moon shined through the slightly opened curtains, creating a white, blinding glare reflecting off of his glasses as he peered down at his friend. A hand extended to the other and smiled, hoping he would take it. It was now or never. The raven haired boy knew if he didn't have a chance to become bonded, closer to Ren, it would never happen. There wasn't much time left for either of them and he wanted to make sure before he was to fall, to get his true feelings cleared to the blond, not only emotionally, but physically also.

"I wish to be with you to the end. Just like we promised." Ren glanced up at him and noticed how well the pure glow of the moon complemented Rai's features. His blue eyes stood out to him as well as the smile he wore. A sudden pain ached in his heart. A pain that he couldn't describe. A feeling of being anxious, nervous, sad, yet happy and peaceful. A wide range of emotions was flowing through him at the moment, he wasn't sure of how to react or what to say. It was obvious that they wouldn't have much time together and he knew that. It would be too hard if they were to have a relationship with one another and it wouldn't be worth the pain for either of them.
Ren looked away from his dark haired angel and lowed his eyes to the floor. His hands gripped his pants tightly as he tried to hold back his tears. "Rai, I'm sorry...."

Rai let his arm drop from a bit of shock. He wasn't sure what he meant by he was sorry, but he wasn't liking the sound of it too much. Kneeling down in front of him, he gently placed his hands over Ren's tightened ones. "Ren, look at me. What are you afraid of? Isn't this what you want?" He bent his head down to kiss the top of one of the blond's hands, affectionately.

"I....don't know. I want to stay with you forever. I don't wanna lose you, Rai! Maybe a relationship isn't the best thing. I just..." Ren choked out, letting a few readied tears slip out and run down his cheek. He turned his head and stared at the other kneeling in front of him. What was he saying? Why was he being like that? Perhaps is was the sudden sharing of 'I love you' to one another, he wasn't sure. He never felt this way before and he couldn't help but feel extremely confused. He ripped his hands away from Rai's and gripped them in his hair, slouching over to hide his face from him. A few more tears fell onto his lap, dampening his jeans.

"You won't lose me. We agreed to stay together forever, did we not? We have to, for more reasons than one. It's no use in hiding how you feel for me now and vice-versa. We both share the both love, the both life, the both destiny. Let's share more with each other. I want to be with you, Ren. Not just in friendship, but in love. We should enjoy the time we have with each other instead of waiting for those days to come. That is what will truly bring in more pain." He leaned up more and tilted up Ren's chin to get a better look at his tear-stained face. Using a thumb, he wiped away an oncoming tear before it streamed down. His eyes met those beautiful hazel ones he grown to love dearly and he moved his face closer to his. "Don't cry. You're making a mess." He smiled, letting out a small laugh.

After hearing what he had to say, Ren realized how blind he really was. Why did he say those things? Moment of confusion? He knew he really didn't mean to say he didn't love him, it was just all too sudden and everything started to cloud his thinking. He reached up and wiped his eyes, using the back of his hands and wrists. "You're right. I'm sorry for not seeing it that way....I was just overwhemled at the moment." The boy couldn't hold back a little laughter himself that escaped out of his mouth before it was recaptured with the sweet, warm lips of his love.

Rai could feel Ren jerk from the sudden action which caused his lips to curl up and form a smirk as he pressed deeper into the kiss.
