Such A Good Freak
Shuichi looks into the fridge and sighs, he had been doing that a lot lately. He jots down a shopping list as he takes out ingredients for dinner. He lets his mind wander as he boils the rice. He had been slowly growing tired of the way Yuki treated him. He did everything to make Yuki happy and all he got was a “Get our of the way, Brat!” or when he would try to cook something new and it ended up burning a “What the hell do you think you are doing? Get out of the kitchen!” That happened when he first started learning how to cook.
He starts chopping the vegetables when he hears Ryuichi, “Shuuuuuuuuuu-I-chiiiiiiiiii!!!!!!! Can Kuma-chan and I help?”
Shuichi smiles gently at his idol, “You can set the table, but please be careful. Yuki would kill me if his dishes got broken. Also, please keep it down. He’s writing and can’t be disturbed.”
Ryuichi nods enthusiastically, taking the plates and goes to set the table. Shuichi is about to turn around when he watches in horror as Ryuichi trips over a chair. He reaches to catch the singer as well as the plates but doesn’t make it in time. He watches in slow motion as Ryuichi lands on the chair as the plates shatter into a million shards on the floor.
Silence descends eerily as Shuichi cringes and prays to Kami-sama and Buddha simultaneously that Yuki didn’t have his door ajar.
They hated him.
“SHUICHI!” came the shout. Yuki rounds the corner and sees Ryuichi lying across one of the dining room chairs, the remains of the plates strew across from him with a hyperventilation Shuichi turning down the oven and grabbing the broom.
“G-g-g-gomen n-n-n-nasai, Yuki-sama! I’ll-I’ll clean it up,” He stammers fearfully. He was shaking so bad he accidentally cuts himself on a shard. He ignores it and finishes cleaning up, keeping any sign of blood out of his lover’s sight. Yuki goes to help, but Shuichi shakes his head, “It’s okay, I’ll finish up. You can go back to work, Yuki-sama.”
It was then that Yuki had finally caught the honorific Shuichi used. He looks at him strangely and then notices the blood on Shuichi’s sleeve when he grabs for the first aid kit in the kitchen. “Baka, get over here! That needs to be dealt with!”
Shuichi winces at the tone, “It’s alright I don’t need….” he meekly replies before yelping when Yuki shoves his hand under the faucet. “Baka, you are useless in the kitchen. Why I let you cook I don’t know, but if you don’t knock this clumsiness off soon you’re getting banned soon.”
Ryuichi watches the scene from the chair. He sees the frustration in Yuki’s eyes as he carefully picks out any piece he finds. He notices that as Yuki does this he keeps looking at his watch in growing exasperation. He wasn’t going to get much work done at this rate. Yuki glares down at Shuichi, wondering why, for the millionth time, he kept him around. He had thought that he loved the brat, but after hours of expensive therapy sessions he found it was still Kitazawa’s face he saw not Shuichi’s. As he was thinking about this while bandaging the baka’s hand he remembered why he kept him around, guilt and shame. Guilt for all he put Shuichi through and shame for all the times he never stopped this farce. These were two emotions Yuki Eiri hated and he started hating Shuichi for invoking them. He tapes off the bandage and leaves, closing the computer room door firmly.
Ryuichi watches silently as Shuichi, with even less sparkle, finishes dinner. He silently wipes down the floor with a damp cloth, thinking. “Shuichi-kun, ”he calls out softly, “gomen nasai. I didn’t mean to be so clumsy.”
“It’s okay, Ryu-chan. You didn’t do anything wrong. It was an accident,” he states softly while dumping the vegetables in with the rice and adds the sake. He had missed the change in Ryuichi’s tone and personality. He was just starting to stir dinner when arms wrap around his waist and someone nuzzles his neck. “Ry-Ryuichi?!” He asks startled, “What are you….What are you doing?” He exclaims with a gasp as he spins around.
Ryuichi smiles at the wide-eyed innocent look. “You’re upset. I wanted to make you feel better,” He states simply as if he were talking about the weather instead of nuzzling an attached man’s neck.
Shuichi gapes, his mouth opening and closing like a fishes. He shakes himself out of his stupor. “Arigato, but I….” He trails off as he sees Yuki standing at the kitchen counter, glaring at the both of them. He had come back to grab a plate of food, his stomach had protested when the tantalizing scent of dinner wafted into the computer room. Now he was glaring at Shuichi, seeing his way out of the sad cycle he was in. “Don’t mind me. I’m only grabbing a plate. Go ahead and continue your affair in my kitchen,” he coldly replies as he serves himself, “Oh and please, Sakuma-san, do try to keep it down. He’s a screamer.: Tuning with an icy expression on his faced, he stalks off towards his computer room.
“Yuki-sama! Wait! It’s not what you think!” Yuki-sama! Please! Don’t be angry! YUKI!!!!!” Shuichi cries out, running to him after pushing out of Ryuichi’s arms. Yuki pushes him down to the floor, “Like I care.”
“Yuki,” Shuichi softly calls out to the retreating back.
“Yuki turns to him. “oh and, Shuichi, please remove your things from the apartment before I come back out.” The door shuts on Shuichi’s tear streaked face. He stands up and goes to the bedroom.
Ryuichi follows glaring at the closed door, a minor hope that the occupant inside would spontaneously burst into flames. He was furious at Yuki, after all Shuichi did for him, Yuki treats him like crap and throws him aside. Now he was going to pick up the pieces and see if he could salvage poor Shuichi. “Bastard,” he growls.
Shuichi slowly goes into Yuki’s room, it never really was his to begin with but he had hoped. He starts to pack and sighs, trying to let the tears fall again. Goes back to the kitchen to clean up dinner since neither he nor Shuichi would feel up to eating after this roller coaster ride. He valiantly pushes back the urge to add a little bit of rat poison to the leftovers in hopes Yuki ate it and died.
‘Bad, Ryuichi! He may be a bastard, but killing him isn’t the answer. Slow methodical torture…..’ Ryuichi banishes the thought. He knew Shuichi wouldn’t forgive him. ‘But you don’t need to tell him,’ a vicious voice in his head whispers. He mentally chibifies himself and stuffs said voice in a locked box in the deepest part of his mind.
Shuichi comes out with his bags. He sets them next to the do before looking a round and crumples on the couch, head in his hands. Ryuichi crawls over with Kumagoro and props the bunny where Shuichi can see him. “Kuma-chan wants to know what tot do to make Shu-chan’s sparkly come bake, na no da.” Ryuichi asks in Kuma-chan’s “voice”.
Shuichi smiles sadly at the stuffed bunny and his puppy-eyed owner, “I don’t know, Kuma-chan. Maybe it’s lost forever. There isn’t anything left.”
“Uh-uh, Shu-chan! Ryu-chan will make Shu-chan’s sparkly come back and he’ll shine and shine and shine. Then Evil Yuki monster will be mad he couldn’t be Shu-chan’s sparkly maker.” Kuma-chan “said” while nodding enthusiastically with Ryuichi.
