Uncut Chapter 27(28) Scene

This the full scene from chapter 27 of my story "Going another Way" at fanfiction.net, which I was unable to post there, due to age restrictions. The link to the full story can be found in my bio. Note: It IS Chapter 27 story-wise, but the ff.net numbering internally describes it as chapter 28 because before the chapters is a prologue.

Concerning that one thing that Rei does (and later makes Shinji repeat) which would normally never happen on the first time... Remember that Rei is a really curious girl and grew up with no taboos. Thus why she's so bold.
...at the evening...
Shinji wondered what Rei could want from him that she had asked him to come to her apartment at this hour. Not that anyone would notice anyway.
Misato was out on a date with Ryoji Kaji, which meant they wouldn't be back before close to midnight at the earliest. Asuka had went to bed early, saying that she didn't want to hear what unmentionable things Misato and Kaji would do in Misato's room after returning from their date, although he got a good idea what that would entail. Even after her becoming a nicer person, she was no morning girl and should she know who was responsible for it, then may fortune be with them.
The rest of the apartment block was quiet, thus no one would see him.
After knocking, the door opened and Rei asked him to come in. The light in the apartment was off, only the light from the outside coming in through the big balcony windows. Shinji became a little unsettled when seeing that Rei was only wearing a bathrobe, so maybe he had caught her at an unfitting moment. She also seemed awfully quiet, as if waiting for something, while closing the door behind him. What followed was awkward silence, as if they didn't know what to say.
Finally, Shinji felt that asking would be the best.
"All right, Rei. How can I help you?" he knew Rei preferred the direct approach. If you want to ask her something, do it directly.
Rei hoped that her direct approach would be best for what she wanted to do. Her reading material had been interesting, although she did feel a little embarrassed about what she was about to do. Even though she was trusting Shinji with her life, her by now firmly entrenched modesty was acting up. "Shinji, you remember our decision that for the moment a sexual relationship is not what we desire?"

Misato smirked. "Let's test this theory!" she declared, before pulling Ryoji into her bedroom, sliding the door shut. There still was enough time for their fun tonight.
