Dancing around

Matt lounged on the couch in the living room, flipping through TV channels while sipping at a cup of decaffe coffee. He’d had a pretty relaxing day so far. He hadn’t done much more than lounge around the apartment. Tai had been invited to go, or rather forced to go, to breakfast and then out shopping with his parents and Hikari, his younger sister, and then had left for work not long after; leaving Matt at home to chill by himself all day.

In other words, it had been boring as all fuck.

Matt was snuggled into the comfy cushions in a long-sleeved, baggy black shirt and a very loose fitting pair of pants, what had been labeled his ‘Lazy-ass outfit’ by a certain brunette, trying to find something to watch. After changing the channel to find yet another infomercial, Matt groaned and turned off the TV. His coffee had gone cold and the blonde moved to dump it out into the sink. He looked to the clock and sighed again. 3:00. Tai wouldn’t be home for at least two more hours and Matt wasn’t supposed to meet his family for dinner until 7.

Seeing as how it was his birthday, Matt’s mom had actually wanted to get the whole family together for dinner at a rather nice sushi restaurant. The blonde wasn’t exactly looking forward to it. He knew Takeru was ecstatic about it, but he couldn’t help worrying the whole night would just be, well, awkward. He was looking forward more to the party with the other digidestined he had planned for two days after.

Matt sighed again and looked around the somewhat small apartment for something to do. Normally He’d be perfectly content to do the dishes or even the laundry, which he knew both were piling up, but… he just wasn’t up for it today.

Finally, Matt sighed and moved to his room, closing the door behind him. He liked his room. It was fairly spacious for a two-bedroom apartment, his comfy dark blue bed in one corner and his desk and computer in the other. He had pictures of friends decorating one wall and mostly band paraphernalia on the others. The blonde currently made his way over to the comfortable black swivel chair in front of his desk-top computer. Well, when all else failed, masturbation was interesting.

The computer screen flicked on easily with a touch to the mouse and Matt settled himself in his chair.

Tai sighed from exhaustion as he fished out his keys and made his way into the apartment. He had gone into work directly from his shopping trip with Kari and his mother without being able to stop to drop off his bags or eat. Luckily, work had been slow and he’d been let off nearly two hours early. It didn’t appear that Matt was up and about the apartment, but Tai figured he was taking a nap or something… after all, his door was shut which the blonde only did when he needed peace and quiet.

Tai dropped his shopping bag down by the couch and happily flopped down onto it, a sigh escaping him as he relaxed and got to sit somewhere other than his car for the first time that day. It had been a long morning and an even longer afternoon for him… but at least he’d managed to get Matt’s present. He had no idea what his best friend’s reaction would be to the gift, but Taichi was looking forward to finding out.

Tai heaved another sigh, closed his eyes, and froze. He sat up and looked towards his roommate’s closed door. The brunette just sat and listened for a moment.

‘I couldn’t have just heard…’ his mind started to rationalize, but then he heard it again.

Slowly, Tai stood and crept over to the door, leaning in next to it to hear better. There was no mistaking it.

There were some very indecent moans coming from his best friend’s room. Tai couldn’t help it… he was curious now. Besides, what if Matt really was sleeping and was having a nightmare? He would have to wake him up. Tai slowly tried the door handle and was pleasantly surprised to find it unlocked.

Heart pounding in his ears and face a very prominent red, Tai slowly eased the door open and peered inside. What he saw there stole his breath and caused all the blood in his system to travel immediately south.

Matt was most definitely not having a nightmare.
