Hope this chapter goes well too... enjoy. By the way, most of the stuff in this chapter is seriously made up haha. See for your self if it worked out.
Chapter 2
“You filthy brat! How dare you use your cursed ability on me?!”
The next thing he felt pain on his cheek and it spread like wildfire to his entire head. He could feel a mixture of hatred, disgust, anger and fear radiated from the beautiful woman before him. She was apparently upset about something. Whether it was out of concern or not, he shouldn't have asked.
“Put him back in the cell!”
Before he could even catch his breath, the servants close by grabbed him by the arms and hauled him back to the dark room underground. Now that he had once again made is mother angry, God knows when he will be freed again. Three days? A week? A month? It depends.
Hisoka fell tripped, fell down and scraped a little of his knee. So much for Judo and Aikido practice. Jingling sounds could be heard, followed by a rusty clangor. The honey haired head turned in time to see one of the male servants pull the key out of cell lock. The man threw an unfriendly look Hisoka's way before making his way up to the house.
The boy sighed.
He prays that father's visitors from other places will come more often. It was during these times he will have more chances of going out and meet people other than those within the Kurosaki grounds. He is happy even though only for a little while. But those who knew of his 'curse' will keep their distance. Then again, those who were not afraid will use it against him.
Like his family. Like everyone in this house. They knew too well that he couldn't do much to them but sense what they feel. Since he had yet to master the ability to control this power, he picks up emotions easily and strong ones will ram against his psyche like a bulldozer. But thats not the only reason that got him down here oh no.
His curse evolved over the years.
For a while now Hisoka is able to pick up pieces of images from remnants or residues of emotions from a place or object as well. Recent events only of course. But still.....
Ever since then the boy gets locked up down here even longer.
“What have you done to upset your mother this time?!”
Hisoka startled from his thoughts when the stern baritone echoed through the cell. He backed up against the cement wall as he heard footsteps nearing the cell. The man continued to shout at him.
“I am up to my nose with the things I need to do and you have to give me more trouble don't you?! How can you even live up to my expectations as the next head of the Kurosaki clan if you can't even- ”
He didn't need to know what his father is saying. It is always the same. As usual his father will insult him, demote him, deem him hopeless in every way possible. All he need to do is repeat “Yes father. I'm sorry father” and he will be alright.
“- you should be grateful that we are still keeping you!”
Hisoka does not know if he should be grateful that he was a live and living this way. Maybe he was better off being dead.
Like his older cousin sister; born only to be killed because she is not a first born male. He did envy her though. Now that she is at peace, she does is not need to be forced into inheriting this god forsaken family estate and the curse of Yatonogami; the main reason for his existence right now.
When he proves himself to be qualified to hold the 17th title as the head of the clan (though coerced to do so). Hisoka will then have to takeover his father's duty as well as the vengeful god-snake into him. His life seems to be mapped out for him already.
The cell was too quite so he look up from the floor only to see that his father had left. The man must have been too busy to give him a good canning.
Hisoka let out a sigh.
It is only after noon. He would have loved to continue to read his books but his oil lamp ran out of fuel and he had forgotten to refill it.
He'll just go to sleep for now.
Hisoka woke to the chill. He curled up immediately when the cool air invade his thin kimono. He open his eyes when realised that his blanket had been pulled of.
“Hisoka-sama. You have an hour”
Bathe.
He was allowed to go to the bath. It had been days and he was beginning to feel uncomfortable.
Relying on a wash cloth and a basin of water can only get so much grease out of you. But since his *Bushi training schedule as not so vigorous these couple of weeks, it wasn't so bad.
Hisoka got up and walked to the dresser and took out a towel. He open the drawer below this one and randomly grab a clean kimono. Then he made his way to the bathroom on the other end of the building. It is night and the building seems to be very quite. Everyone must have been in bed by now.
He is given an hour. It is more than enough. He'll take a quick one and spend the rest of the time outside instead. The beautiful Sakura trees surrounding the estate are beautiful at this time of the year and he would love to take a short stroll before having to return to that cold darkness once again. Hisoka stripped the clothes off and dump them in the basket before going over to the large water container.
Its cold. He would have to heat the water up.
Forget it. The charcoal will take up too much time. He braised himself and poured the water over his body.
Hisoka breath in the refreshing cool air. Such a beautiful night. So peaceful he could hear the crickets singing. He made his way to his favourite place. The largest Sakura tree that grew not far away from here.
'I still have half an hour' he thought. Smilling, he walk up the slope. 'I'm here my favourite tr-'
The teen stopped in his track. His eyes went wide.
The moon is so round. And so red! He never seen anything like it. Unconsciously his body moved towards it, like moth to flames.
As he got closer, he heard a distinctive moan. He blushed and searched for its source. Emeralds spotted two figures beside his sanctuary, engaged in what it seems like passionate 'adult' acts. Whats more, they do not seem to be people from here. Who are they and how had they gotten in to the Kurosaki ground? His blood seems to boil at that thought.
Hisoka was about to open his mouth to give a warning but the words failed to come out when the reddish ray of the moon's shone over them, making the scene clearer for him to see.
The taller figure, a man, lifted his hands high up and in his hands held a knife. He brought it down swiftly to the motionless woman. The squishing sounds of liquid could be heard. The blood spurted out of the woman's body when the sharp object cut through a large vein.
A loud gasp escape Hisoka's slim lips and he regretted it greatly.
The man turn his head and piercing looking eyes spotted him. He dump the body aside like a rag doll and sprinted towards Hisoka.
The boy turned and made a run towards the house. But it was no use. The man was to fast. Hisoka was tackled down as the culprit laid full weight on him. His mouth was covered, muffling his shouts and cries. A dark chuckle came from behind him as he was picked up and thrown over a shoulder effortlessly.
“Ah!”
The man carried him back to the Sakura tree and dump him on the ground beside it. Hisoka look at the other and he couldn't help but for a moment, stare in awe.
He would have looked so angelic with the white suit and long coat if it had not been tainted with blood. His hair is so blond it looked like silver, covering his right eye. Even his eye is silver with a tint of Grey in them.
Yes he is a beautiful man indeed. But Hisoka knew better when he could feel so much menacing aura radiating from him.
Chills ran down his spine like never before.
“My, such a pretty little thing you are” The visible eye measured the boy who is sprawled on the ground.
“Who are you? What are doing here at the Kurosaki grounds? How did you get in?”
The man chuckled once more “So many questions” At that the man jumped and wrestled Hisoka flat on the ground again. The boy tried to kick and push with all his might but the silver haired man is too strong. His waist is being sat upon so there is not much he could do anymore.
His Kimono was pulled apart roughly and the boy blushed full force. “N-no! What are you doing?! L-let go... Please let me go” He cried as his wrists were bounded together with his red obi above his head.
“No can do my doll. That was something you should not have laid your emerald jewels upon.... now that you had... I will have to punish you, severely”
A large hand grab Hisoka by the jaw and turn the boy to look at him. The hidden right eye shone red behind those silver curtain and his body became motionless, not moving at his will.
A sinister smile grace the handsome face “Be a good boy now and let me have fun with you”
Tsuzuki is making his way back to the infirmary with a hot cup of coffee in a hand and a small box of pastry in the other. He hadn't felt like eating but Wakaba refused to take any of his excuses and simply thrust all of them at him. 'If you don't take care of yourself, how are you going to manage taking care of Hisoka? Now go stuff yourself!' she said.
The brunette can't help but chuckle. Wakaba is a very sweet and caring girl. He is very thankful but seriously he really didn't have much appetite. Everything he puts in his mouth felt tasteless. However, Wakaba is right.
He tucked the box under his armpit and turn the door knob open. He walked over his motionless partner at the end of the room and take a seat on the chair beside the patient bed. Settling his things on the side table, he moved to tug the blanket up higher to cover the boy better.
Tsuzuki sighed.
'When are you going to wake up?'
The brunette wove his fingers between Hisoka's smaller ones and brought it to his lips, kissing the wrist, feeling the week pulse that beats simultaneously with the beeping from the monitor.
He wondered how would the boy react to him if Hisoka knew that he had done that. A scolding perhaps? Blushing and stuttering the way Tsuzuki liked?
He had been harbouring these feelings for the young shinigami for quite sometime. Feelings that are more than just partners and companionship.
Feelings of love.
But Hisoka is a boy whose up bringing is complicated as far as Tsuzuki had known; treated horribly by his family and unloved. Moreover with the way Muraki stripped him of his innocence and life!
That is the problem. The boy may not understand what these feelings Tsuzuki is trying to convey. Care maybe but love? If he were to confess too soon he is certainly going to freak the boy out. Moreover rejected!
Dread filled Tsuzuki's heart.
No he must be strong and he must be patient. He will gain Hisoka's trust and he will slowly gain his heart as well.
He wanted to be the one to make Hisoka happy.
He wanted to be the one to keep Hisoka safe.
He wanted to be the one Hisoka holds dearly to his heart. The one and only.
The thought of Hisoka with someone else makes Tsuzuki feels incomplete.
The older Shinigami caresses the soft hand, tracing the outline of the mark on Hisoka's palm. Watari ran some tests the day before and deciphered the rest of the Sandskrit writings on the outer ring of the circle. Anvavasita Madiiya Yaavat Uttiirna.
'Bound to me until release from obligation'. What was bound? Something bound to Hisoka or the other way around?
As for the other five symbols that resembles hieroglyphs within the five pointed star, Watari has yet to find out what they meant as none of them matches with the ancient records. Not even the origin.
But that is not all. Tsuzuki found photocopied pages of spells and most of all, one on the 'A month A year' gate. Something that all of them had not heard of for a very long time. It is a gate created to open to another dimension where time passes much slower there compared to Meifu or Chijou. A month here is a year there. Hence the name.
The 'A month A year' dimensions are build with a purpose to function like a training room. Since what ever happens in that dimension will not affect anything in the real world, it makes a perfect 'training ground' for shinigami-es who wish to practice their power or Fuda magic without causing danger to others. But to open the gate is very troublesome. Long and taxing incantations as well as great focus is needed to summon and open the gate because the 'room' is quite large; covering a hundred acres of 'space'. It was too troublesome so it had been left forgotten.
Until now that is.
Tsuzuki sighed. He is going squeeze everything out of Hisoka when the boy wakes up.
He place the hand down gently and turn to pick up his coffee for a sip. Opening the small box, a sweet scent wafted to his nose and his stomach grumbled loudly.
Donuts..... It'll have to do.
The brunette finished the first ring within a few bites and now onto the second one, listening to the beeping from the pulse monitor opposite him, unconsciously chewing in time with the rhythm. But it seems to have gotten a little faster. Amethyst eyes look up to the monitor to see Hisoka's heart rate increasing from 82 to more than a 100 in a minute. The blood pressure is irregular and the boy showing signs of distress on his features. He began moaning and panting. Beads of sweat starts to form.
Tsuzuki assumed that the boy may be having one of his nightmares but Hisoka won't wake up even though the older shinigami shook him, called him. So he ran to the phone and punch the extension number to Watari's lab. “Watari! In here, now!” he shouted when the receiver was picked up.
He quickly ran back to the now trashing boy on the bed, trying to sooth him. “Hisoka! Wake up. Its alright... I'm here”
Just in time the door slammed open and Watari along with Tatsumi came in. “What happen to Bon?!” The blond asked in panic as he rushed over to help Tsuzuki hold onto Hisoka.
“I don't know... its just suddenly happen” Purple eyes held a desperate look.
“Watari I think we better sedate him before it gets worse” The secretary suggested when he too saw the unstable readings on the monitor.
The blond nodded. He was about to mouth Tatsumi over to take his spot when the young shinigami in bed let out a violent gasp. In an instant, the haunting curse mark on the boy grew fiery red. A powerful force burst from him, body arching high and tout like a bow, sending all the other three flying across the room.
The boy let out a sob before collapsing on the bed, curling on his side. Harsh pants and breath could be heard.
Tsuzuki is down on the floor, his body trembling from the force he was hit with. Watari and Tatsumi too have difficulty getting on their feet. The monitoring machine is up in smoke now. He was sure that wasn't some ordinary energy blast. He could feel so much from it. The fear. The terror. The pain. So much it made his heart ache.
“H-hisoka?” He scrambled towards the bed. Seeing the boy's face scrunched up made Tsuzuki hesitate for a moment before making contact. He called to Hisoka again and finally the hidden Emeralds began to reveal themselves.
“Tsuzuki”
The young shinigami's voice sounded so meek Tsuzuki felt a pang in his chest. Watari and Tatsumi were on his side in seconds.
“Bon! Are you alright?”
Hisoka was about to reply but the bile in his throat has threatened to come up. The dream was too vivid this time. The entire experience had put a toll on his empathic abilities. Now that he is exhausted, his shield had weakened and the emotions he is receiving from Tsuzuki and his other two co-workers are not helping. He tried to make a grab at the basin on the side table but his arm just laxed.
Seeing that, Tatsumi guessed Hisoka was going to puke so he hurriedly placed it next to the boy and puke he did. Everyone was wincing when they witnessed one of the most agonizing vomiting they had ever seen. The young Shinigami threw all contents up (that was not much anyway) and still continued to puke till only clear liquids came out.
Tsuzuki gently sooth his partner's back. “Better?” He asked getting a weak nod in response. Watari than gave the boy a glass of water to gargle while Tatsumi left to inform Chief Konoe.
Its going to be okay now that Hisoka has woken. Tsuzuki smiled in relief.
