Back to base

“Man you’re mean…if you know me you should just say so.” Ace sighed behind the lazy grin he decided to adopt. He had already learned so much from his captor, most recently that he wasn’t apparently affected by the Null stone net as he had picked Ace up net and all and started out of the forest and back toward the village. That also spoke to him having a decent strength, but when Sanji leapt from the forest floor to the nearest rooftop while holding his human cargo, Ace garnered a more accurate idea of the blonds abilities.

His legs were incredibly strong, fast, precise, and graceful. Actually those words could describe the ninja himself.

“Oh so it is you.” Sanji smirked down to his prey but quickly returned his eyes back to the rooftops when he noticed the noncommittal shrug Ace had given him. Sure the Whitebeard ninja didn’t enjoy the fact he had been tricked again but his name was hardly a privileged piece of information to look so smug over.

“Taking me to see my brother?”

“Nope. People who try to roast me without proper introduction do not get to see the captain quite so easily. Maybe after I’m done with you.”

“Careful then, I don’t think Luffy will like it if you bring me to him injured.”

The blond clicked his tongue in disbelief as he landed on another roof, this one with the most expansive view of the village under the starry sky.

“Luffy trusts you not to die implicitly. You know that right? For me, he trusts to do what I think is best.”

Ace grin widened. Luffy had gotten some nakama that understood him pretty well. The grin faded a second as he realized this building had a significant drop leading down and no other roofs insight without plunging into the darkness of the cliff like edge.

Sanji pulled the net tighter to his shoulder as he took a running leap from one of the villages tallest buildings and kicked off shorter buildings as they fell, pushing them further through the sloped villages south side in blurring speed until he descended down into the Mugiwara compound with grinding slid of his boots against the gravel. The helpless captives eyes were huge.

“SOME WARNING WOULD HAVE BEEN NICE!!”

The blond adjusted the net and trudged toward a back entrance. Even if Ace had memorized the way, this particular way of entering the compound could only be done by the top four ninjas in the Mugiwara clan. Despite Aces’ renowned skills, Sanji doubted a leap off a cliff was something turning to fire would help him with.

“Oh, sorry.” The man returned without emotion. “Piss yourself?”

Ace had to laugh then.

“I wish I had! Dammit! You would’ve hated that wouldn’t you?”

Sanji chuckled a little.

“You’re right, but don’t think that’ll help you now. If you pee where we’re going, it’s the last thing that particular organ of yours will experience.”

Ace sobered up a little at the threat but didn’t let his smile fade.

“That would be a shame.”

Sanji lit a new cigarette and considered his prisoners good looks for a moment.

“Yes, it would.”
