The understanding
The next day found Franky pulling a note from the knot work of his hammock in utter curiosity. Upon closer inspection it seemed like some indiscernible chart, each block seemed contained numbers of some kind, a few had formulas. He turned the paper over still at a loss. The back held a larger note in neat print with a stylish curved slant.
“Your copy. Lose it and you’re shit out of luck. No tardiness tolerated. No discussion of this with or around me unless during appointed time. Changes may occur in event of any interfering adventure or outside influence. Looking forward to seeing if just your talk is big. –Sanji”
What the hell was this?! Well obviously it had to do with the ‘time’ thing the cook-bro had mentioned but…well…actually yes, that’s what needed clearing up. And what was that last line about? He was rereading the back still as he came out on the deck scratching his head.
He spotted Nami lounging in a deck chair, frosty drink at the ready on a side table reading something and chuckling to Usopp who seemed to be filling small balls with powder as he sat against the nearby railing.
He wasn’t going to bother them, he wanted to make sure the night before had ‘stuck’ so to speak and with the Sunny being so new to the water…there was some TLC that he wanted to make habit of. He promptly changed his mind when he spotted the same swirled print on the back of the paper she was reading.
He was by her side in a flash just in time to hear Nami say…
“Zoro is going to be sooo pissed when he sees it.”
To which Usopp had replied.
“Don’t you think that’s exactly why he did it?”
Nami clicked her tongue as she spotted Franky over her shoulder quickly comparing her paper to his. The charty thing looked identical at least.
“Ah…you got yours too! Congrats!”
Franky was as confused as ever…why was Usopp congratulating him?
“We just got our updated copies too…do you need help reading the chart?” Nami offered sympathetically.
“Yes, I mean no, I mean…” He poked his finger to the paper Nami was holding. “What exactly is this?”
Usopp craned his neck over to see exactly where Frankys finger had landed and nodded a few times.
“Ah, quite simple, you are asking the master of confusing charts after all. That particular square is the formula dealing with Ace. See when he visits it’s usually pretty random and he likes to have Zoro join him during his time about half the time. Also sometimes he takes Sanji to go see this Smoker guy with him too. Lots of extenuating factors are at play and thus the formula.”
What? Who was Ace? And the chef would leave the ship with him just to see someone smoking? What did this have to do with him? With food, even? Was Sanji throwing this Ace guy a dinner party or something on a regular basis? Was he going to throw him one? Nami noticed the perplexed expression on the blue haired mans face and put a palm up for Usopp to stop the explanation.
“You, don’t mean the paper itself do you? The fact we have an updated copy with you on it means you spoke with Sanji.”
Franky nodded.
“I talked with him yesterday but I don’t get this…and what’s this ‘time’ thing?”
Nami and Usopp exchanged bewildered expressions.
“Didn’t he explain it to you?”
“No…I told him Luffy had already explained everything and we he took my preferences and stuff.”
Luffy had been running by at that moment and Nami effortlessly stuck her hand out and grabbed the captains ear, having him smack back next to her.
“Luffy.” Her tone was dead serious. “Did you explain to Franky what Sanji would be asking about?”
“Huh? No! Sanji said he’d be the one to tell new crew members. I just told Franky to be honest and tell Sanji what he liked when he asked. Isn’t that right, Franky?”
“HUH?! But isn’t that what he was going to ask me about? Like what allergies I might have or what kind of dishes to prepare?” Suddenly Franky was aware he might have missed out on something large and important as far as the conversation with the chef.
Nami and Usopps eyes were big and Nami flung the captain across the deck by ear she hadn’t let go of. There was a crash and Luffy didn’t look like he’d be back to join the conversation anytime soon. Franky let his mind evaluate any potential damage to his ship and seeing none let his thoughts come back to the confused state of mind.
“YOU IDIOT!!” Nami called after the captain. “Okay, take a seat Franky…let’s see if Usopp and I can explain this.”
Usopp wanted to bolt but Franky noticed the navigator held a very firm grip on the marksman’s shirt.
----------------------------------------------------
“You see Franky, Sanji has this…” she struggled for the word. Not problem, not compulsion, not addiction…. “Quirk. We think it has too do with how he grew up…a floating restaurant since he was a kid with all men trading insults by day…but eh…showing their affection by night.”
Usopp jumped in suddenly with his own take on the situation.
“And since he didn’t have a mom or anyone to give him ‘normal’ affection…we think he must experience “love” through sex, since you know, that’s all he’s known.”
Nami nodded in agreement.
“EHH!!!? Are you saying cook bro likes dudes too?! I thought he only dug Nami!” Franky sputtered, not fully understanding the full situation.
“Oh god no! I can attest…he likes men too.” Usopps grin was a little unnerving. “He just likes Nami best because when he revealed this aspect to us she was the only one that didn’t look at him like he was crazy. Oh and apparently despite his experience she’s one of the best he’s had.”
Nami punched Usopp in what looked like a playful fasion but a large bump was starting to rise up the mans head.
“Haha…he doesn’t need to know too much detail now does he?!” Her words despite laughter definitely held a threat. She turned and regarded Franky more seriously.
“It’s one of his only flaws, if anyone shows an interest in him…he’s willing and ready to go. Like his next bedroom encounter will fill his heart or something. When he first joined we tried to make him see we didn’t need to have sex with him to love him but…while I think he knows it now it’s become a reassuring part of him.”
Luffy had made his way over to them now in bounce, apparently egar to participate as well.
“We all enjoy it anyway…and when you think about it, if someone has associated sex and love their whole life as one and the same, rejecting sex from him would be so sad. Plus he’s handsome right!? I choose the best cook!”
Franky held his hands to his eyes in an effort to hide his tears.
“Such a story….!”
“No need to cry about it…Sanji is still Sanji. He’s happy! We are too!” The captain grinned as he patted the cyborg heavily on the back.
“BAKA! BAKA! Who’s crying?!”
Nami sighed and looked back to the paper in her hand.
“In anycase, he was going to see if you were open to him showing you some affection…so to speak. That’s what the meeting was supposed about. He has a lot of duties though and a lot of people who like to come by and show Sanji some love too…so he’s kept a pretty tight schedule. If you aren’t interested I’ll let Sanji know gently.”
“WHAT?! Me too!? That’s what that was about?” The cyborgs mind replayed the exchange with Sanji and his eyes became the size of plates as he realized what kind of conversation he had been having from the cooks point of view.
Nami held up the chart with a smile and pointed to a tiny square upon hearing a positive hopeful twang in the voice.
“You must have impressed him in some way…he gave you Zoros’ time slot.”
“WHAT?!!” Luffy pulled the chart from Namis’ hands and stared at the chart before handing it back, realizing he still couldn’t read it. “Does it really? Ohh…Zoro is gonna be mad!”
“What’s…” Franky was beginning to feel dizzy. Everyone slept with the cook? They all had times? He’d be getting sex with the man he had just yesterday scoffed the thought of being able to be with AND on a regular basis too!??
Usopp leaned in a conspiratorial whisper.
“That time is considered the best because it’s the end of the day, he can use up all his energy and go straight to bed…or if he’s really enjoying it he’ll cut into his personal sleep time to continue.”
Sanji would sleep with him…and maybe even fall asleep pressed beside him. Franky could feel his face getting red.
“Ah, looks like he put Zoro in your spot Usopp and you’re now after lunch.”
Usopp grinned at Nami.
“Great! That means I can sleep in! I wonder if he thinks a morning Zoro will be more docile? Or maybe he just wants to annoy him first thing in the morning?”
Franky looked at the paper and tried to understand. So according to this, he’d have to find the cook at 9pm. Tonight?!
“When does this take affect?” He asked to no one in particular. Nami grinned and answered him.
“Today. So your first time is tonight. Have fun!”
Wait…it was morning now…did that mean that somewhere on the Sunny, Zoro and Sanji were going at it?
A quick summary of the chart and brief thank you later and Franky was taking a tour of the ship. He didn’t even bother to fool himself…he was looking for them. For Sanji. For proof this wasn’t just a big joke, some sort initiation gag meant to leave him pantless AGAIN in front of the crew.
He heard a muffled groan and crash and from the storage room down the hall from where he had been working on the valve the night before. He cautiously peeked in the window.
Sanji was lowering his leg after apparently sending the swordsman across the small room, smashing into the shelves of spare blankets. Zoro was rubbing his head and sat for a moment, not quite ready to stand.
“Shit.”
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing Marimo?! I LET you top me if you want to…but it will be cold day in hell before I let you touch or push me around when you’re angry.”
Zoro grumbled something under his breath before growling back to the blond.
“Dammit cook! Am I so replaceable? I thought I was..” and then there was a thread of a whisper that Franky couldn’t make out but the chef had. Sanji moved directly in front of the swordsman and squatted down so they were face to face.
“You are dumbass. Give me a break, replaceable?! Don’t I show you how I feel?” Sanji reached out for Zoros face but stopped opting instead to offer him a hand up. “Franky seems considerate and I thought maybe it would be better to deal with the demanding asshole swordsman in the morning when he was already hard and I had all my energy.”
Zoro apparently hadn’t thought of this possibility.
“So Marimo…is it not enough? You’d be unsatisfied being the first one to taste me? Be with me? I guess I could rewrite….” Sanjis’ suggestive whisper had been too much for Zoro apparently and the swordsman had taken the offered hand up, instead yanking the blond down and promptly kissing him.
“I guess I could live with that…ero-cook.” Zoro murmured as he tried his best to hide the satisfied grin behind the more feral, hungry one that was so obvious at the moment.
“Then hurry up and get these clothes off me…you’re not the only thing I have to do today you know. The schedule is a little tight these days.”
“Shut the fuck up…there are other ‘tight’ things I want to be working on.”
“Then get on with it!”
Zoro grunted in annoyance at the bossy attitude and the cook laughed as the mans hands went straight into Sanjis pants, struggling at first. Too impatient to properly work the zipper, he ripped the belt off and began shoving the slacks down in a rushed urgency.
“See, anger I won’t tolerate but annoyed frustration…looks so good on you.”
Zoro crushed his mouth against the cooks lips almost as if in an act of violence to shut the blond up.
Outside the door, Franky slide down the wood in fear of watching anymore. His hand pressed his erection painfully down as moans began to come from the room. He needed to go take care of himself somewhere that was not the open hallway. With reluctance to leave the potential scene behind the door he made himself nearly limp down the hall in search of privacy.
One thing he could think about as he pumped himself (a minute later in the privacy of the bathroom) was that this was no joke. He bit his lip and stroked faster as he considered. It was no joke and his turn was tonight.
“Your copy. Lose it and you’re shit out of luck. No tardiness tolerated. No discussion of this with or around me unless during appointed time. Changes may occur in event of any interfering adventure or outside influence. Looking forward to seeing if just your talk is big. –Sanji”
