Fleeeee~!

His head was throbbing for some odd reason and the voices around him, while sounding distant at first quickly came sharply clear, too loud, even! He winced and tried to cover his ears with his hands, but… it felt odd… and it did nothing to stop the voices.

Those voices… he recognized them. That was Gokudera yelling the loudest. And Yamamoto’s voice trying to get him to calm, but it was all a futile effort of course. It always was. Why was Gokudera yelling? It really hurt his head. And who was he yelling at? He actually managed to listen long enough to catch ‘Reborn-san!’ Oh… he was yelling at Reborn… Tsuna couldn’t say that he never wanted to yell at Reborn like that, but the infant tutor showed him no mercy for ‘back-sassing’ him. Why was Gokudera yelling at Reborn anyways?

“You’ve gone too far this time, Reborn-san! The Juudaime-!’

Something about him..? What…? That’s right… why was he lying out on the hard floor anyways?

“He’s coming to. It’s about time dame-Tsuna,” Reborn completely cut off the storm guardian’s ranting, jumped forward, landing with a spectacular kick to the top of Tsuna’s head.

“ITAI!!” Tsuna cried out in pain, ducking his head to cover it from further damage with his arms. “What was that for?!”

“I hate waiting,” Reborn answered flippantly.

“I’m sorry!” Tsuna whined in defeat. “What happened?”

“JUUDAIME!” Tsuna winced as Gokudera yelled out his title and rushed to his side.

“Itai… N-not so loud Gokudera…” Tsuna sat up a little and finally looked around. He was on the school roof, Gokudera kneeling by his side and Yamamoto towering over his head, peering directly down at his face and on his other side stood Reborn, smirking down at him. “What happened…?”

“Everything will be alright, Juudaime! This can’t last forever! It’ll be alright!” Gokudera gushed all at once, clasping Tsuna’s hand in both of his own.

“Ah! Gokudera-kun! Stop yelling, it hurts!” Tsuna winced.

“A-ah! G-gomen J-juudaime…” this time the storm guardian whispered just barely loud enough to be heard.

Yamamoto laughed as he leaned over so his face was closer to Tsuna’s, also speaking softly, “Haha, those new ears must be really sensitive, ne Tsuna?”

Ears…? A flashing image of long white rabbit ears popped into his mind and his eyes bugged out, reaching up to grab the long rabbit ears that were still there. “Hiii! It wasn’t a weird nightmare?! I still have them?!” He looked at the group around him in a panic. “H-how long has it been?!”

“Lunch finished half an hour ago.” Yamamoto answered.

“Eeeeh!! Why do I still have them?! Even the Dying Will Bullet only lasts five minutes!” the chibified brunette panicked. Bunny… He was a bunny! Not only that, he was smaller! And still naked! But luckily he still had his underwear on… although his usual boxers had been replaced with little boy tightie whities and he wasn’t entirely sure how or why.

‘That’s what I was asking Reborn-san! This has lasted way too long and this bullet seems like a completely useless technique! Why did Leon create such a useless thing, Reborn-san?!” Gokudera was yelling at Reborn again, making Tsuna wince.

“Leon never creates anything useless,” Reborn defended his animal companion and even though his face was passive, Tsuna knew from experience that it was just a small string of patience that kept the hit man from shooting the bombing expert for insulting Leon. Deep down, Tsuna’s instincts told him to run, flee from the possibility of danger, but he barely managed to squash them down. “If Leon created this, then it must be something that Tsuna needs.”

“B-but… he’s a bunny!” Gokudera protested.

“A very cute bunny,” Yamamoto supplied.

“Yes a very cute… What the hell, you baseball, freak?! What does it matter how cute the Juudaime is as a bunny! It doesn’t help him!”

“Haha, maybe he looks so cute that all the enemies will be unable to resist him.”

“That’s the stupidest thing I’ve ever heard! If the enemies saw the Juudaime like this they’d want to keep him as a pet for sure! He wouldn’t be safe at all!”

Tsuna felt faint. His eyes were threatening to roll back in his head even as the two continued to argue over whether or not being a cute bunny would be a boon or danger for him. This couldn’t be happening! Why did life have to hate him so much? What had he ever done that had been so horrible? Was it possibly something done in another life? Why did he have to suffer for something he couldn’t remember doing in another life? What was the justice in paying it back now when he had been so good in this life? Okay, maybe he wasn’t perfect… but… he’d seen people do things a hundred times worse than him! He fought them, stopped them when he never wanted to hurt another soul in his life! Wasn’t that fair retribution?!

It was then that he realized that he had stopped listening to Gokudera and Yamamoto because he was suddenly pulled from his thoughts by Gokudera clasping onto both of his shoulders, his determined face a few scant inches away from his own.

“Juudaime! Don’t worry about a thing! I’ll protect you with my life even if you look like a cute little bunny for the rest of your life! Y-you’ll be… you’ll be the best mafia boss that looked like a bunny ever!”

Eh?! Had there been other mafia bosses that looked like bunnies?!

“Now c’mon Juudaime! We have to get you out of here! We can’t let anyone else see you like this!” Gokudera was grabbing him by the wrist now, pulling him to his feet.

“I-itai!” Tsuna winced when his storm guardian miscalculated his height and started to pull him up to his tip toes.

“Careful Gokudera! You’ll yank his arm off!” Yamamoto joked.

“Hii?!” For some reason that really panicked Tsuna and he tugged his wrist free from the silver haired teen. Freedom acquired, instinct told him to turn and flee and so he did, though for the life of him he wasn’t sure why.

“A-aah! Juudaime! Don’t run! See what you did, you baseball freak?!” the storm guardian shot a quick, singing glare at the baseball player before turning his attention back to the fleeing brunette, “Juudaime I would never tear your arm off! I swear!” Gokudera gave chase after the fleeing bunny boy

“Hyeeeeeeh!!” Tsuna only panicked more to be chased and turned the corner around the entrance back to the school, ducking behind an air conditioning unit, curling himself up behind it as best as he could, and given his new diminutive stature he succeeded pretty well.

“Oi, Tsuna, what’s gotten into you?” Eeeh! Now Yamamoto was after him, too!

“He ducked behind the AC unit! Juudaime! You don’t have to run from us! We’ll take care of you!” Gokudera ducked down to the side of the AC and tried to reach for his chibified boss within the small crawl space.

“Hyeeee!” Tsuna squealed and scurried away from the other end, but Yamamoto was ready for him there arms open and ready to receive him. No! He turned sharply and just managed to duck, glancing over his shoulder s he watch Yamamoto’s arms cross to snatch up nothing and the taller boy stumbled a step with his miss, his head heading the AC unit.

He was so distracted by the relief that he had escaped his predator (predator?) that he didn’t notice Gokudera making a mad dash for him until it was almost too late! He jumped up, just as the boy pounced, surprised by the height he got as his storm guardian landed in a sprawl in the spot he had just been and Tsuna felt a little bad when he landed on the silver-haired teens back, but the need to get away was greater! So he hopped off Gokudera and made a mad dash, but Yamamoto had already recovered and gave chase, and Gokudera soon joined him and they chased him in wild circles around the school roof, each time blocking Tsuna’s attempts to get through the door and finally get away.

“Tsuna!” “Juudaime!” They both called out to him, trying to capture him.

And for the life of Tsuna he still didn’t know why he was running…or know just when he got so agile that he could dodge two of his guardians so easily. He didn’t think about it as he jumped up high and Gokudera and Yamamoto slammed into each other in a failed attempt to corner him, ending with Gokudera landing in a heap on top of the tall brunette, Yamamoto’s arms slung haphazardly around the silver-haired teen.

“Owww… damn, you have a hard head, baseball freak…” Gokudera muttered and sat up.

“Aaah… Gokudera…?” Yamamoto called out sheepishly.

“What?” the Italian snapped back.

“I just wanted to know how long you intended to stay there, that’s all. Tsuna is getting away.”

Gokudera’s brows furrowed in confusion, about to give the taller boy another scathing remark before he looked down and noticed that he was snugly sitting on Yamamoto’s lap. “Aaagh!” He yeowled like a scalded cat and jumped back. “What do you think you’re doing baseball freak?!” his face was almost as rest as a tomato.

“Maa maa, calm down Gokudera! You’re the one that fell on top of me.” Yamamoto laughed sheepishly, though there was a very light flush of color on his cheeks.

“I didn’t do it on purpose, you moron!” Gokudera screeched.

“I didn’t say you did,” the rain guardian coutered with a sheepish smile. “Tsuna is getting away.”

“Aah! JUUDAIME!” Back on task, Gokudera leapt up to his feet and took off after the dashing brunette.

Tsuna was almost home free! He made a quick dash for the door only to stop dead in fear. Right before him was a scowling Hibari. Why was Hibari still there even after all this time?! The sheer aura the older boy was giving off was mind numbing and Tsuna could only stare at him with large doe-eyes as he stood stock still, his body started to tremble. That aura… it was one of a true predator if he ever felt one. He was frozen under its presence.

“Juudaime!” Tsuna yelped as hands scooped him up under his arms and hauled him up. “Caught you!” Gokudera cheered, “Don’t worry, Juudaime! I’ll take care of you!”

And suddenly that didn’t seem so bad. Gokudera wasn’t giving off that scary aura of a predator that Hibari was. He was still staring at his cloud guardian in trembling fear. Said cloud guardian looked at him with intense, narrowed eyes.

“Ne, thanks for helping us catch Tsuna, Hibari!” Gokudera smiled good naturedly.

“Hm…” the older teen suddenly turned away and headed down stairs. He had enough with the childish antics of those idiots. “Stop crowding together or I’ll bite you all to death.” He had just confirmed for himself that Sawada Tsunayoshi really was the pathetic herbivore he always thought him to be.

Tsuna caught and Hibari gone, the group started to relax again, Gokudera still holding onto the chibified mafia boss.

“Tsuna can’t go home like this,” Reborn piped in from where he had been watching all the antics on top of one of the AC units. “There’s no way of explaining this to mama, and I’m sure Tsuna’s enemies stake out his home. If they saw him like this they’d try to attack. One of you will have to take Tsuna home with them until we can get this all figured out.”

“Hii! You’re serious?! I can’t go home?! Wait… I have enemies staking out my house?! Why didn’t you tell me?! What are you going to tell my mom?” Tsuna asked all at once.

“Just leave the details to me, Tsuna. And you probably won’t be able to come to school either. People will question your sudden changes.” Reborn completely ignored the questions about being watched.

“Eee! You’re right! I can’t let anyone see me this way!”

“Then it’s settled! Juudaime! You can stay with me!” Gokudera grabbed onto Tsuna’s small shoulders again, determined aqua eyes staring into widened, panicked, honey brown. “You’ll be safe with me! No one will get you! I swear it on my life!”

“Perfect, Gokudera, Tsuna’s future is in your hands. Do a good job and it will better secure your position as his right hand.”

“YOSH! I’ll do my best!”

“Eh! Reborn! Don’t just decide things by yourself!” Tsuna flailed a little. Staying with Gokudera? B-but… Gokudera was still kind of scary to the boy sometimes… Although… he was curious as to where Gokudera actually lived. After all, his older sister lived with him and his family. Just where did Gokudera live?

“Don’t worry, Juudaime! I promise I’ll take good care of you!”

“A-ah…. Well I guess its okay for now… but just until I’m back to normal, right? I-it could all be over before the day is through right?”

“Fn…” Reborn smirked. “Who knows?”

“Can’t you even try to be reassuring?!” Tsuna whimpered. He was answered by a baby foot to the face.

“Stop whining, dame-Tsuna!” The hit KO’d the now smaller brunette, eyes rolling up in his head and head slumping back against Gokudera’s shoulder.

“J-juudaime!”

Hell… his life was hell…

-
To be continued.

Poor bunny Tsuna... Even as a cute bunny and younger Reborn still doesn't go easy on him and his life seems to be full of bad luck... X3

.... Seriously... Where the hell does Gokudera live?! XD
