Hiro/Shuichi
THIS IS HIRO/SHUICHI SLASH. INSPIRED BY PAGES 75-79 OF BOOK 2. DIRECT QUOTES.
The singer hopped towards him excitedly, calling his name. He tried to skid to a stop
in front of him, but he lost his footing and fell, dragging his friend down with him.
“Hiro! You need to hurry up! If K shoots me one more time for being late, I'll really
be dead! The asshole yells at me, even though you're the one walking slow!”
“Maybe, Shuichi, but you were the one he had to force out of bed this morning, not
me. If it weren't for you, we'd probably be early.”
“Wha...? Hiro! You're so mean to me!” The wide eyes clouded over in tears and Hiro
laughed, leaning down to kiss Shuichi. When he straightened back up, puppy eyes were
beaming at him, and he smiled back, ignoring the shot that whizzed between them.
Hiro rolled over, blinking his eyes. What had that been about? He didn't know a 'K-san', why
would that person be shooting at them? And the kiss...! He'd dreamed of Shuichi before, of
course, but never like that. That couldn't be explained away as hormones.
The confusion brought his brother's boice to him. “If dreams were easy, everyone would live theirs.”
He rolled on his back to stare at the ceiling. He knew two doors down the hall his parents
slept, secure in their knowledge of their son's future. But he also knew that less than a mile
away his best friend lay awake, frightened and hurt by an unexpected 'betrayal'. Hiro shook
his head. He'd always like Shuichi more than his parents anyway.
