Chapter 2
Growlithe\'s ears perked up for the second time that day when he heard two sets of footsteps. The scent he had caught before came to him again in a smaller dose, and he suddenly felt slightly hot in the room.
The door opened and the girl from before entered leading another growlithe. All of his attention was instantly on her, and he barely heard what the humans were saying.
She was beautiful! Slender, with silky fur and darker eyes than were normal for them. She was also shivering.
"You\'re sure she\'s in heat?"
"Positive."
"Let\'s use the frames just in case."
The girl led the female growlithe over to the wood contraptions while the boy led growlithe over to a shelf. There was a clink of glass and a faint sound of liquid pouring, then growlithe found a cloth pressed close to his nose.
Abruptly his brain became paralyzed and his legs turned to jelly. The scent that hung around the other growlithe was now so strong and so close to his nose that he lost all conscious thought. His eyes unfocused and he found himself breathing hard. For some reason his tongue darted out of his mouth and he licked the cloth once, briefly, then it was pulled away and he was being led over to the other pokemon.
She was tied to one of the wooden frames with leather restraints. Each of her legs was bound to a post and her collar was snapped to a ring in the wall. As he watched his brain dimly registered this, then his nose was gently pushed between her back legs and any thought left fled away from him - all that was left were deep, age old instincts.
There was a narrow slit there: the origin of the wonderful smell. Unthinkingly he began to lick it, coating it with saliva. Each time his tongue touched her heat pulsed through him, centering in his belly. Suddenly he felt something between his legs shift, and he looked down to see that his cock had slid out from its sheath for the first time. He had no idea what it was, but much of the pleasure he was now feeling seemed to be coming from it so he didn\'t worry. He continued licking the female growlithe, his eyes half shut and unaware of her low whining.
Suddenly he felt that licking was enough anymore. There was something else he was supposed to do… abruptly he jumped up onto her hips, wrapping his paws around her back legs. He gripped the loose skin on the back of her neck with his teeth, growling softly. On their own his hips shot forward shakily several times before he realized what to do. He began humping her, his inexperience causing him to miss each time. He didn\'t know what he was looking for but every time that her met fur with his cock he knew that he had gotten it wrong.
Something gently pushed his hips and he suddenly encountered a moist, smooth and warm spot. Without think he thrust his hips forward and clamped his jaws even tighter. It felt amazing! The sensation of her walls sliding along his length was incredible, and without thinking he pulled back out and thrust in again - wanting to feel it one more time. Two thrusts turned into three, three into four and four quickly into seven, ten and fifteen. The longer he pushed back and forth the more he realized that faster was better. He arched his back, tightening every muscle in his body, pistoning back and forth inside of her. The wooden from rocked in time with his thrusts. Something inside him was building rapidly, and it pushed him to even greater speed. Desperation began to seize him, and he began to grow erratic with his thrusts, trying to each whatever was coming sooner and losing all control in the process. His jaws opened and he rested his head on her back, panting with effort.
Suddenly he exploded and felt something rushing out from within him. A sensation of liquid surrounding his member came to him, and he fell limply on top of her, spent. Nothing happened for several long minutes, then he pulled back and lay down. He was exhausted, and only wanted to sleep…..
Back outside Max watched languidly as the boy carried the semi-responsive growlithe back to his kennel. Smiling knowingly, Max laid his head on his paws and watched while the boy checked growlithe\'s water and food, then left. Growlithe lay quietly in the sun, dazed, tired but happy at the same time. The heat was leaving him and he slowly became aware of the fact that his muscles ached. Blinking, he yawned once before curling into a ball and closing his eyes. His mind replayed what had happened as he drifted off to sleep, content.
A thought occurred to him, and it jolted him back awake momentarily. The other growlithe had been whimpering, hadn\'t she? Had he hurt her?
He hadn\'t meant to, he thought to himself, pawing at his nose. That smell had just been so enticing and it had caught him unawares… Now that he thought about it he realized that he could have been gentler with her. Sighing, he closed his eyes again and allowed himself to sink down into sleep. If he saw her again he would make it up to her.
----------
He woke once when night time sapped away the heat of the day. A breeze had picked up and chilled him. He got to his feet, lapped up a little water from a metal bowl next to his dog house, then crawled inside where it was warmer. There was sweet smelling hay underneath of a thick blanket, warm and soft and delightful to burrow into, and he quickly fell asleep again.
The sound of his kennel door opening woke him in the morning. He opened one bleary eye and peered out through the low entrance out into the sunlight. The boy had opened his door and walked to the next kennel, opening that door as well. The cries of many other pokemon reached his ears and growlithe instantly was on his feet. He slid outside and stretched, trotting out of his kennel tentatively to investigate. Up and down the aisles pokemon were heading off in enthusiastic but orderly lines. Growlithe joined them, wondering what it was about.
He followed the crowd past the white building and through a final gate into a very large open space. It was a fenced in grassy area. A good-sized pond lay in the center at the bottom of a gentle slope. A steep bank rose up on the opposite side supported by the roots of several trees. Everything else was an open space of grass and dirt. As many pokemon as there were they were all able to spread out comfortably without crowding.
Growlithe sat down to one side of the doorway and tilted his head to one side, watching the others. He only picked out one or two girls; the rest were boys like him. His curiosity got the better of him and he began to wander. Some pokemon here were species that he had never even dreamed of - one was made of metal and had a giant silver X between its red eyes. There were several arcanines, he was careful to give them a respectful amount of space while he wandered. As strong as he had thought he was, growlithe found himself feeling very much a rookie among so many strong pokemon. It was a bit of a blow for his ego.
"Pah, you look dazed kid." A joking voice said from behind him. Growlithe jumped a little and wheeled around. Max was sitting on his haunches and grinning at him, apparently delighted with his trick. "Haven\'t quite found your feet yet, ah?" Max blinked a little and tilted his head to one side, waiting. Growlithe felt very self-conscious. He hadn\'t really talked with anyone in a long while, and had no idea what to say to the pokemon that had beaten him so soundly earlier.
"You don\'t talk much, do you?" Max said, yawning. "Shame. I was thinking about helpin\' you out… but if you\'re not interested I\'m not gonna waste my time." He turned to go, and growlithe barked after him.
"Wait a second!"
Max turned, dropping his jaw and lolling his tongue out in his odd way of laughing. He sat down again and waited. Growlithe shook his head a little before getting his thoughts together again.
"Where is this?"
Max shrugged. "Somewhere near Mount Moon. I never bothered to find out. I know how to get here and that\'s all I need to know." Growlithe dropped back into a sitting position.
"No, I mean… what is this." He looked around. "This is the strangest way of keeping pokemon I\'ve ever seen. I thought all trainers used pokeballs."
"You don\'t like this better?" Max laughed a little. "We actually don\'t spend too much time in our kennels. The boss takes us to different yards every few days, and unless he needs us for something we can do whatever we want."
"That still doesn\'t answer my question."
"This is the Boss\'s home, kid. That\'s all." Max rolled lazily over onto his belly and yawned, wiggling to burrow down into the grass. "He\'s a trainer; a good one, too." Growlithe noted the respect, almost adoration, in Max\'s voice but didn\'t comment. "He takes training very seriously, that\'s all. Unless he needs fresh genes or a new species he hardly ever catches pokemon - a lot of us were born and raised right here."
"Were you?"
"Nope. The boss picked me up in Celadon City before I evolved, and I have to say this beats city life by a long, long shot." Max grinned at growlithe upside down. "More room. More fun, less noise and congestion."
"You\'ve seen a city?" Growlithe dropped onto his belly to be on eye level with Max, and listened raptly as the jolteon explained more about where they were and told him stories about his time here.
Even though Max called him "The Boss" the trainer\'s name was actually Vaughn. Max had known him since before the facility was built - back when he was a boy who traveled across the continent training to be the best. He still went on long journeys with Vaughn but they were less frequent now. Vaughn had met Sarah, the girl, and they had built this place together. Sarah had been training in a pokecenter and she and Vaughn had been in love since their first moments together. Sarah handled most of the medical procedures. Vaughn was rarely gone for long periods of time now because he wanted to be close to her and to his pokemon. He never used the PC system of storage - all of his pokemon lived with him here.
The girls were separate from the boys most of the time, but if Vaughn or Sarah noticed a pair forming a certain attachment they would often let them have some time together alone. Max, it turned out, had a mate and several pups of his own.
"One of them just evolved, can you believe it? The rascal leveled up next to this weird rock and changed to a leafeon. You should have seen the Boss - he was thrilled." Max\'s chest puffed out with pride at this.
Growlithe soaked it all in, and let his thoughts travel back to what he had heard the two trainers saying before, about him being both a breeder and a fighter. His imagination kicked into overdrive, and he fell asleep in the sun dreaming about what the future might bring.
The door opened and the girl from before entered leading another growlithe. All of his attention was instantly on her, and he barely heard what the humans were saying.
