Disclaimer:
This is a work of fiction. I don't own pokemon. Don't sue me. I'm not making money here. The character Angel is mine. Thank you.
Twist the thorn
Mizuru007: Yes, Moonlight flipped. :D
Xain: Prolly not.
Psyence: Just think about it. The email went out to every single rocket member on the globe. There\'s going to be a rocket in every single business on this AU earth; sort of like there\'s law and gangs everywhere here too. It\'s easy; the newspapers heard about the epic fight and went there. Not to mention the League, in the shows, are CRAWLING with people and trainers and people watching – so needless to say, there\'s going to be a reporter tailing the new rocket lady boss that the email spoke of.
Phantom Pen: I am honored to know I have inspired you. That\'s the best gift anyone can give a writer; the knowledge they\'ve given someone else that buzz. Thank YOU. :) But uh, ignoring homework is a bad idea. :P
Mizuru007: Thanks! I\'ll update as much as I can. Work, wedding, and a three year old kinda eat up my time! :)

“...You\'re serious, aren\'t you?...” Elm muttered, placing his forehead in his palm. “You realize I could be arrested for aiding and abetting these pseudo criminals? Just because we know they\'re in this for good reasons, that doesn\'t mean the authorities will.”
“But they are going to need somewhere to run if it all goes awry. You\'re the last person anyone is going to suspect of helping two rocket bosses. If they don\'t get on with finding Giovanni, this world isn\'t likely to be the same again. This is very serious, Elm – more than anything else right now. The last thing we need is for the evil side of Team Rocket to be running Kanto.”
Elm heaved a huge sigh. “Right. If I get arrested, Oak, I expect you to come and bail me out...” he gumbled, then struck the hang up button with a lazy finger. “You two had better succeed, because I\'m risking my entire career here. And for team rocket, no less...Never did I ever think that protecting team rocket would be a good thing.”
“If we don\'t,” Angel interjected, “Then three very evil people will take over team rocket, and eventually all of Johto and Kanto, if not Hoenn and lord knows where else. Giovanni only cared about profit and pokemon; these evil guys want to take over the world. We can\'t let them kill Giovanni, the gym leaders, or anyone else. Giovanni\'s Rockets is a lesser evil than their Rockets.”
“I resign, then.” Elm said, heaving another deep sigh. “There\'s no other way, is there. Come on back when you need me, kids. And for your journey, Angel - take one of these pokemon. I know it isn\'t much of a contribution outside of an emergency hide out, but, its what I can offer. Cyndaquil, Totodile, or Chikorita. You too, Gary.” Angel\'s brow rose. This guy had gone from terrified to supportive over one conversation with Oak? Either he was very easily convinced of things, or he really didn\'t believe she was evil to begin with. Very strange. But, even offering her a pokemon? Something within her female senses flared up. Something was wrong with that. “I haven\'t even seen them yet myself,” Elm continued, placing an open palm on the desk. “I just got this new set from the pokemon lab council.”
“New ones?”
“Oh yes, all the lab professors recieve these pokemon once a year when the other three are given away. Mine were all gone up until last week.”
“Well, thank you Professor Elm – I\'m sure they will help,” Gary replied, thumbing over his pokeballs. Which would he give up off his team? He didn\'t have to worry anymore about challenges at the league – but letting one of them go? He didn\'t necessarilly need both Nidoking and Nidoqueen, but – they were his mainstays.
“May I use your computer, Professor?” Angel asked, tilting her head slightly. “I would like to do a little research on those pokemon before I pick. I know the types, but I\'d like to know a little more before I pick.”
“Yes, go ahead.” he replied, stepping out of the way. Angel pulled up the lab chair, sliding behind the screen. Gary resisted a roll of his eyes and leaned against a wall. He was feeling a little impatient now, since their trail of Giovanni was growing very quickly cold. Pulling up a popular web page which listed all the known pokemon in Johto, Angel began to browse through. After about thirty seconds, however, Gary flicked his eyes at her with a rather irritated glance.
“Angel, you forgetting that we\'re sort of pressed for time, here? Or...” Angel glanced up to him with a faintly confused glance, but then a light came on.
“Oh!...You\'re right. Not sure where my head was, dear. Alright, I guess I can exchange later if I change my mind, Professor?”
“Yes, sure.”
“Alright. Then, I\'ll take Cyndaquil – it\'s the only one I had time to glance at.” she spoke, standing up to move to the table. Gary shuffled after her, as an idea dawned on him. He knew exactly what he was going to do.
“I\'ll take Totodile, Professor.” Gary replied, a faint glint in his eye.
“Alright, good choices! If either of you feel like trading for the Chikorita, I\'ll keep her here for a while before I give her away. Angel, here\'s yours, and Gary...” Elm handed the two pokeballs to the trainers. Angel hooked hers in the spot where Moonlight\'s ball used to sit, while Gary\'s Electabuzz vanished, moving into his pokemon box. He\'d have to finish that later. “Now, before you jet off, please call me before you drop in, if you can...Go on now, you haven\'t time for formalities.” Angel nodded, and dashed out the door. Gary walked calmly after her with a raised brow. She was sure acting strange lately – more than what was normal female, or normal Angel. She\'d been all over the map in the last few weeks, and it wasn\'t just grieving.
“Well?” Angel said, interrupting his thoughts. She stood there, looking a little expectant. Anarchy had been released behind her.
“I\'m coming.” he frowned, as Anarchy took wing and snatched the two in his hind paws.

Finally in Goldenrod, Anarchy was recalled. Angel set her eyes onto the Radio Tower. The rockets had been there for months now, using it as a way to brainwash the rest of the pokemon globally. But, why they would take Giovanni there was beyond her. But that was the lead that the annoying receptionist at the hideout said – the hideout in Goldenrod. They had a storage area under the underground too, so there was no real way to know where exactly they\'d taken him.
“Gary, you go into the Tower. Put on the Rocket hat and be pushy if you have to. I\'ll take the underground.” she spoke, turning to dash away. Gary nodded, and ran off as well. He hoped this was the end of the trail – either good or bad results. He really wanted this all to end – before it got worse.
The two stood before their respective marks – ready to go in. Angel placed her hand on the door handle of the building that held the stairs of the undergound, and Gary on the handle of the Radio Tower, when all in Goldenrod heard the haunting sound none thought they\'d hear in their lifetime – an explosion so loud that shattered the glass of every building around as the shockwave threw everyone to their backsides. After the shock of the explosion washed away, Gary sat up. To his horror, where Goldenrod Gym once was, a large crater now stood, housing a pillar of burning fire and smoke.

AN: Short and long coming, but life\'s gotten in the way a bit. I promise I will get more chapters up.
