Chapter 2

Special thanks to my Lovely Beta Loo-Chan: Thanks for all the help and inspiration. Oh and lets not forget my love for spelling and commas (hehehehe) 
Well on with the story if you like it please review. (Male Mast.) in this one if you don’t like it don’t read. Well anyway happy reading.

******************************************************************
Zero was standing by the window looking at the silvery moon, his thoughts full of Yuuki. ‘She has always been by my side, but when she looks at me all she sees is Kuran’ he thought angrily. ‘I love her. Why can’t she see that? I know that I don’t deserve her, but I don’t want Kuran to have her either. She is just too trusting of these beasts in human form. Why can’t I make her see that Kuran is no different? She wouldn’t listen to me anyway, I attacked her. I can still taste her blood on my tongue. I must stay away from her for a little longer so I don’t attack her again.’ Upset over his thoughts, Zero decided to get some sleep. ‘At least I can get a few hours before class.’ He pulled down his covers and climbed into bed. Closing his lavender eyes, he quickly fell into a deep sleep.

*”Zero, I will always be by your side. I will always beep……,” Yuuki said, looking into Zeros eyes.
“What?’
“BEEEEP ……. BEEEEEEEPPPPPP”*

“What the hell?” Zero said still half asleep. He looked crossly at the alarm clock beside his bed. ‘Shit it was just getting to the good part.’ He reached over and hit the alarm a little harder than necessary to shut it off. Walking over to his closet, he pulled out a clean uniform. He threw it on the bed and started to pull out his socks when something on the floor caught his eye. He saw that it was the picture that the Chairman had taken on their first day of high school. Looking at Yuuki’s smiling face, he grinned. He could still feel her pressed up against him. “Smile Zero.” He had said nothing. It was taking all of his will power not to ravish her right there. The feel of her soft breasts on his back was making it hard for him to control the beast within himself. She had grown up a lot since the first day that they had met. Only a fool would not notice what a beautiful women that Yuuki was growing up to be. He pictured her in his mind. Long legs, soft brown hair, big brown eyes, average breasts, long graceful neck. As he thought of her neck he could feel the blood-lust rising within him. He remembered the first time he had bitten her. He could see and feel it all. He had grabbed her arm and turned her around so that she was facing away from him. As he licked her neck, tasting the salty flavor of sweat, he could feel her round ass pressed into his crotch. That was the first time that he had noticed that: with the lust for blood there came a lust for sex. Zero felt himself getting hard against his boxers as he thought about that time. ‘I have to do something about this before going to class.’ How embarrassing would it be for Yuuki to see him in this state? He slid his boxers off his hips and onto the floor. Sitting on the bed, he brought his hand to his cock and slowly rubbed his hand on the head. Making sure to coat his hand with pre-cum, he ran his hand slowly up and down his cock. He could see Yuuki kneeling in front of him with her soft pink lips wrapped around his cock. As she sucked, she looked at him with those eyes so full of trust. Trust, trust, he did not want her trust, he wanted her fear. She should fear him. He was a beast, an animal. He tightened grip on his cock as he imagined pushing her head further down on his cock. Her look became frightened as he pushed himself deeper into her mouth, making her choke and gag. Zero picked up his speed as he felt himself about to lose control. “You like this, don’t you? You want this? Drink it all. Don’t spill a drop,” he commanded of the make-believe Yuuki. Groaning loudly, he emptied himself into his hand. Falling back on the bed, he could not believe that he had just found pleasure in the thought of abusing Yuuki. ‘It’s the beast inside, it has to be.’

*knock, knock, knock*

“Zero, are you awake? I need to speak with you.” The Chairman said through the door.
Quickly pulling his boxers back on, grabbing the towel off the sink to clean his hand, and forcing his breathing back to a more normal level, Zero answered opening the door, “What is so important that it can’t wait until I have finished dressing for school, Chairman?”

“Oh, my dear son, I have important news for you today.” Chairman Cross said in a sing-song voice.

“I don’t remember becoming your son.” Zero said coldly.

“So cold, Zero. So unlike my darling Yuuki.” Chairman Cross stated sadly.

“Enough!” he snapped, the thought of what he had just done flashing through his mind. “What could be so important that it could not wait until breakfast?”

The Chairman became serious “I do not wish for Yuuki to know and worry herself, so I decided that I would tell you now. Don’t worry about going to class today. Kuran has requested that you visit him instead.”

“Kuran wants to speak to me? About what? Never mind, I don’t want to speak with him. You can tell him that I have nothing to say.”

“Zero, I cannot do that. You and Kuran have some important issues to discuss and I think it would be best if you two had this talk. You do not want to worry Yuuki, do you?”

Zero sighed in defeat. This was so unfair, using Yuuki against him, but damn, he had to admit that it worked.

“Okay, I’ll go.”

“Goody, Zero. Be a good boy and no fighting with Kuran. Have fun!” The chairman cheerfully said, dancing away down the hall.

Slamming the door, Zero walked back to his bed and glared at his uniform. ‘Damn,’ he thought, ‘I don’t want to see Kuran, much less talk to him. How dare that peace-talking fool use Yuuki against me? Damn the chairman and damn that smooth talking vampire. He may have everyone else fooled, but I know better. Vampires are no better than beasts in human clothing. They are no better than animals: savage, brutal and evil. How could the Chairman and Yuuki trust them?’

Picking up his uniform, he carefully hung it in his closet and grabbed his favorite pair of jeans and long sleeve tee-shirt. Pulling the clothes on, he looked at himself in the mirror. The shirt was the one that Yuuki had given him for Christmas last year. ‘The color matches your eyes.’ she had said when he pulled it out of its brightly colored box. He smiled, remembering how mad she had gotten when he told her that he hated it. That was a lie. He could tell how much care she had put into picking it out. He loved the light lavender color and the softness of the fabric. Sighing, he felt the blood lust coming on again as he thought of her. The color of her soft brown doe eyes, the slightly fruity smell of her skin, and the softness of her sun warmed brown hair. These thoughts of her were driving him insane. Feeling the pain of the craving coming on stronger, he quickly reached out and grabbed his blood tablets. Throwing two quickly into his mouth, he turned on the water in the sink and drank the water from the tap to wash them down. ‘Please let them stay this time, please let me be able to take them. I need them.’ He thought. He could tell the moment they hit his stomach, it felt like a ton of bricks, and his stomach started to twist and turn. Fighting the feeling for as long as he could, Zero finally gave up and vomited into the sink. Damn, his body was rejecting them faster than before. He glared at the pills in the sink. They would do him no good unless his body would absorb them. Hunger or no hunger, he had to face Kuran and he would gladly go to hell before he showed that vampire any weakness. He washed his face and slowly walked out of his room, making sure that his gun, Bloody Rose, was tucked securely in the waist band of his pants. He knew that he was dragging his feet, but he really did not want to meet Kuran. He crossed the yard and started down the path to the Moon Dorms. Walking to the gate, he saw the old, deformed man that kept the gate. Just the look of him would scare off even the most determined admirers from trying to enter the Moon Dorm during the day.

“Come on in, young Prefect. The President is expecting you,” he said in his dry voice.
Zero was careful not to let the shiver that passed down his spine show and just nodded. Walking to the door of the dorms, he didn’t even knock. ‘Screw him; he knows I’m coming, so no need to be polite,’ he thought as he walked into a large, dark room, lit only by the light of a few candles. Zero hated to admit it, but the low light had a calming affect on him. He spotted Kuran waiting for him at the top of the stairs.

“You are late.” Kaname Kuran stated as he looked down on Zero.

“Just be happy that I showed up at all, Vampire.” Zero replied, spitefully.

“Enough of the pleasantries. Follow me to my chambers. We have important matters to discuss.”

“Why should we go there, Kuran? You can tell me what you have to say right here, then I can go to class.”

“Sorry to disappoint you Kiryu, but the walls in this place have ears and the subject that we are to discuss is a delicate one. I am certain that you do not want everyone to know.” Kuran said pointedly. “In my chambers, we will not be disturbed. Now, if you would be so kind as to follow me.”

As much as he did not want to admit it, Zero realized the truth in Kuran’s words. That damn vampire was right; Kuran knowing that he was a vampire was bad enough. He didn’t want the entire night class to know about his little problem.

“Lead the way, Vampire.”

Kuran mock bowed to Zero and said in a sickening sweet voice, “Right this way, Level E.”

Zero flinched. He wondered how long he was going to be able to push Kuran before the vampire showed his fangs. He knew that he was slipping into a Level E. He knew it, just as well as this pureblood knew it, but the truth hurt just the same. He didn’t need Kuran to remind him of the fact. It was like rubbing salt into a fresh wound. Zero nodded and slowly walked up the staircase, careful never to take his eyes off of the vampire. When he reached the top of the stairs, Zero felt like it had taken a life time.

“We shall not be disturbed. No one will enter my chambers today.” Kuran said.
“What do you mean, Kuran?” Zero asked.
“All have been notified that entering my chambers today is a punishable offence. Have no fear; we will be able to speak freely there. Kiryu, your secret shall remain your secret for as long as I wish it to be.”
‘As long as he wishes it to be, huh.’ Zero thought. This vampire was slick, cold and calculating. ‘I must keep a closer eye on this one.’ Zero and Kuran walked down the hall to the room at the very end. Zero was a bit surprised not to see any of the other vampires around. He knew vampires were good at hiding, but usually he could sense them. It was like Kuran and he were the only ones in the Moon Dorm.
“Where are the others, Kuran? Where are all of your bodyguards?”
“I am surprised that you noticed, Kiryu. They each seemed to have some appointments of their own that needed to be taken care of today.”
“Really?” Zero stated sarcastically, his tone clearly showing that he didn’t believe a word of it.
“Here we are. After you, Kiryu.”
Walking into the large room, Zero was quick to take notice of his surroundings. Seeing the large mahogany desk with the large blood red velvet chairs, Zero was relieved. ‘Kuran likes to hold meetings that are impersonal. I can handle this.’ Lost in his thoughts, he didn’t notice that Kuran had not walked to the desk.
“This way, Kiryu.”
Zero snapped back to attention and looked to where Kuran was standing and was a little startled. ‘So much for impersonal,’ he thought. Taking in the sight of the bedroom part of Kuran’s room, he was not surprised to find that everything matched, from the wood type to the red velvet cloth that covered everything.
“Please have a seat.” Kuran said, smiling slightly as he gestured to the chair across from a sofa in the sitting area of the bedroom. Zero walked warily toward the vampire and the offered chair. This was dangerous territory. As a vampire hunter, born from a family of vampire hunters, Zero knew that being in a vampire’s domain was a very perilous place to be. When he reached the chair, he opted to stand in front of it instead of sitting. He would not let his guard down in front of Kuran. Kuran smiled and calmly sat down on the sofa. He put his arms across the back of it, crossed his legs and calmly gestured at the chair again. Zero gritted his teeth with frustration; he knew that he could not remain standing with Kuran sitting. It pissed him off that Kuran did not think Zero could hurt him. Zero was sure that in that relaxed state, Kuran could not move fast enough to be a major threat to him. Besides, he had Bloody Rose with him.
“Do not be so tense, Kiryu. Relax. I have not made a threatening move toward you. Nor do I plan to. I just want to talk with you. If anyone has made a threat it is you.”
“What do you mean?”
“Bringing that infernal gun of yours. It is a real pain for us vampires.”
“I don’t trust vampires.”
“I know, I never asked for your trust.”
“What did you want to talk to me about? I can’t imagine what would be so important that a pureblood would have to speak to a lowly Level E like me.” Zero said sarcastically.
“Kiryu, this meeting would go a lot smoother if you would desist with the attitude.”
“Sorry, it goes against my nature to trust a vampire.”
“So you say.” Kuran got up slowly, causing Zero to jump. Kuran chuckled under his breath as he caught sight of the small movement. He walked to the cabinet beside the large window and reached inside to grab two crystal wine glasses. Filling them both with luke-warm water, he turned and walked back to where Zero was sitting. Slowly leaning down, he placed both glasses on the table that separated the sofa and chair. He made sure that his moves were unthreatening, as he sat back down on the sofa. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his black titanium pill case. Opening it, he carefully leaned over and dropped two of the pills in each glass. He watched with a diminutive smile as the pills dissolved, turning the water to blood. ‘Zero acts like a wild animal,’ Kuran thought, ‘I have to be alert and not make any hasty moves if this is going to go smoothly. That attitude of his is getting strenuous. I must do this for Yuuki’s sake. Though, it would be fun to knock him down a notch or two. Zero really does need an attitude adjustment. He needs to learn very soon that even though Yuuki protected him he is not entirely untouchable.’

Zero looked at the wine glass Kuran has sat before him in disgust. ‘Asshole,’ Zero thought, ‘he knows that I can’t drink this stuff. Is he trying to push my buttons or does he just not care?’ Zero sat at the edge of his chair, still tense. It took every part of his being to not pull his gun on this self assured vampire. How he hated vampires. Purebloods most of all. They thought that they were so much better than everyone else. A Pureblood took the life of his family and made him the monster that he was. A Pureblood vampire ruined his life. That Pureblood was dead and gone. No, he did not get the revenge that he had dreamed of, someone else had had that pleasure, but this Pureblood was still alive and haunting him. Would he ever be free of them? This vampire was his enemy. Not just any enemy though, his enemy over the affections of the girl that haunted his dreams and refused to let him give up and die.

Kuran took a drink from his glass and said, “Shall we begin?”

Zero flinched slightly at the question. He looked a Kuran with slightly distant eyes and nodded his head in agreement.

“I asked you here today to discuss your little predicament. There is no use in denying it. I know that you are slipping into the status of Level E more rapidly than before. I also know that you have been drinking from Yuuki. Do not look so surprised, Kiryu. Did you think that you could keep it a secret? I do not approve of this, but Yuuki is a compassionate girl and I allow it for her sake.”

“Kuran, you have no right to say anything about what Yuuki and I do.” Zero interrupted.

“What you are doing is forbidden. Do you realize that you are resigning her to a fate worse than death?”

“What she does is her choice not yours.” Zero sneered.
“You only live because of Yuuki. I would have killed you long ago if it were not for her.” Kuran snarled back.
“I don’t need her to protect me, Kuran. I can handle all of you damn vampires by myself.” Zero replied heatedly.
“Do you really think you can?” Kuran said baring his fangs.
“I’m not scared of you.” Zero said standing up.
“You should be, Kiryu. You are weak and pathetic. You are nothing but a lowly Level E. You’re becoming a animal. You cannot stop yourself once the blood-lust overcomes you. I take that back, you are not an animal, you are no better than a beast.”
“Stop it!” Zero screamed.
“What’s the matter, Kiryu? Cannot handle the truth?”
“Stop IT!”
“And who would want a beast that cannot control his own desires? Certainly not sweet, innocent Yuuki. You do not deserve her. But you already know that, don’t you? Soon you will be nothing to her and she will be my bride!” Kuran hissed.
In one smooth motion, Zero reached behind him and pulled out Bloody Rose. In the blink of an eye, he had it lined up on Kuran. Without pausing or thinking of the consequences, he pulled the trigger.
