Chapter 2 – Bad News

~Zero~

His back rested against the cold surface of a big uneven rock, the mud under his legs rubbing into the material of his jeans as he shifted his body, leaving big stains on his already ruined pants.

His whole frame was soaked with water, it was dark and he was exhausted after running in the intense rain.

Zero's unfocused eyes narrowed as his hand touch his supposed to be cold forehead but instead it was burning hot. He sighted deeply ignoring the uncomfortable warmth as he started thinking back at when Kaname saved him from committing suicide.

“Kaname... for what reason dose his name sound so right in my mouth, but in the same way not? Why don't I call the bastard by his last name or the other nice insulting ones I have come up with? Something like blood sucker, asshole, leach... Why do I feel safe when I think about him?”

Something that bothered Zero to no end was that he still couldn't figure out was why in hell he had been so calm when Kan- the blood sucker tackled him to the ground, even letting the asshole taunt him by showing him those non existing feelings called love. After all Zero didn't have the right to be loved or even love someone anymore, not after he turned into a blood sucking monster.

'No one can love a monster', Yuuki had told him that.

Even if she nowadays isn't as sweet as before, he still deep inside haven't give up hope that maybe one day the true Yuuki might come back . He just can't let her go, and he would never have the power to shot her if he were required to.

Closing his eyes tightly he grunted as his cheeks and forehead were much to warm, the rest of his body trembled because of the cold. His breathing had picked up speed and he moaned in pain as a headache started to plague him, Zero didn't even realize that in the tight forest that surrounded him he was being carefully watched by a par of emerald eyes...

~ Kaname~

Kaname was pissed, no, furious... well let's just say he wasn't happy anymore...

Not only had Takuma had informed him when he had woken up that several purebloods already had turned up at the academy but he also got to know that his beloved Zero had run away and they had yet to find him.

Ichijo had also informed him that Zero had left him alone on the forest ground and that Ichijo had found Kaname just seconds before it had started to rain.

“What made you act like that Zero, leaving me all alone... Can't you feel that we belong together?”

Kaname licked his lips, the taste of Zero still lingered on them, then he cursed as a high pitch voice interrupted his thoughts and a girl with long dark auburn hair slammed the doors to his bedroom open.

“Kaname honey!~ I have missed you, where have you been?” Yuuki whined and latched herself onto his arm. He stared down at his sister, his lips turning slightly into a frown as he tried to pry her hands of him.

“Yuuki, can you please le-” he was rudely interrupted as a pair of wet lips attacked his.

The taste of Zeros fresh strawberry flavor was replaced with rotten ones.

“Oh, god. I'm going to vomit” Kaname pushed her of him roughly, disgusted by her “affection”.

“Kaname darling? What's wrong?” She pouted with her lips while leaning her head a bit to the side, trying to look cute.

“Oh... Can it be that the disgusting Level-D have upset you again, why don't you just kill him already?” She smirked and Kaname flinched slightly.

“How dare she!”

She moved forward and placed her hand on his cheek stroking it with affection as she spoke sweetly.

“Honey~ Let's just kill him, he is a stain that is in deep need to be remo-”

She didn't get to finish as her hand where smacked away and a red handmark appeared on her smooth but not so flawless cheek anymore.

“I don't want to see or hear your voice right now, I will let your rudeness pass this time because your are my sister by 'blood', but mark my words Yuuki, I will not tolerate it a second time”.

Kaname gave her a cold glance, already missing Zeros sweet taste on his lips.

“I have told you several times already: Do NOT kiss me! I only want to have a normal sibling relationship with you, nothing more.”

“My heart belongs to someone else”

Yuukis lips parted a bit as her sickening sweet voice sang with deep hatred buried underneath.

“Kaname, I thought those purebloods that you have invited to the academy are here because you have something really important to discuss with them, right?”

He swallowed hard but his cold mask did not give away a single emotion.

"Has she found out, about Zero?"

“Yes, that's right” He answered plainly.

“Hmm~ Well I will forgive you for hitting me and telling me such hurtful jokes, that you love someone else... such nonsense”

She glanced up at him with a big smile on her face as she continued talking

” -my answer is yes!”

Kaname glared down on her in confusion.

“Don't look at me like that! I know you where going to ask me later today but I just can't keep it in me any longer. I want you to know it's a clear yes on my part Kaname!” She hugged him tightly

“I'm so happy!” She squeeze him tighter with excitement.

“She forgives me? I don't need her forgiveness... Wait, what the hell dose she mean by her answer is yes?... No, no way. She can't have misunderstood that badly!?”

He pulled her of his body for the second time.

“Yuuki, that is not what this is all ab-” A firm knock was heard as Ichijo abruptly stormed in.

“What now?!” Kaname was seriously loosing his temper.

“Kaname-sama I have some news on -. Eh, Yuuki-sama what are you doing in here?” Takuma asked surprised and gave Kaname a questioning look.

Kaname ignored Yuuki when she said something about that Takuma should have better manners when talking to the future king and queen.

Ichijo froze on the spot, wide eyes staring at Kaname as if he had grown another head.

Shortly after Ichijo snapped out of it, he had some serious news to tell Kaname. He glanced around the room suddenly looking a bit nervous as he shewed on his bottom lip. “Maybe we should discuss this matter in private Kaname-sama?” He inquired but Yuuki interrupted as she grunted displeased.

“What ever you have to discuss with my husband you can discuss with me.”

Ichijo eyes narrowed a bit and Kaname snapped at the statement.

“Ignore her Ichijo and tell me what you want to discuss!”

“W-well, okay but you are not going to be happy. It's about Zero-sama, we might know where he is...”

~Stranger~ (Back with Zero)

The strangers long, wavy hair reached down to his knees, his hair color matching the night sky.

Emerald eyes carefully watching every movement that the young silver head made as he moaned in pain.

Even from here he could see that the boy was soaked to his very skin, his cheeks were light pink and eyes a bit glossy.

“He is properly running a fever...”

He himself had taken cover under a big tree not that far away from the sitting guy, he had masked his pureblood aura and sent so he could get a bit closer to the stunning beauty.

The teenager had run past him one hour ago, his magnificent sent made him almost go insane, the fresh smell of moon lilys with a hint of strawberry, it was mouthwatering.

He didn't start to run after the boy until he snapped out of his hypnotic state, it had taken him until midnight to track him down.

The heavy rain had made it a hard task but he finally found the vampire sitting against a big rock, he was really happy with his decision to follow the younger one because he looked absolutely exquisite.

Beautiful silver hair perfectly framing his angelic face, soft par of pink lips that begged to be kissed.

The boys unique silver eyes with a hint of purple showed confusion as his aura screamed for comfort.

The young man looked like an angel or even more like a god.

"You are still the same..."

The stranger snapped out of his thoughts as the boy moaned ones again but much louder then before, his purple eyes turning wine red and a line of salty tears ran down from each eye.

~Zero~

“It hurt's, I'm burning up from inside out!”

Zero cried like a lost child and he was ashamed of it but the pain... he couldn't stand it.

Zero didn't even notice as a man walked towards him from the deep shadows of the trees to stop just some centimeters from him.

The man bend down on one knee staining his clothes as he put a firm hand underneath Zeros chin making him look up at the stranger.

Clouded confused wine red eyes meet clear emerald ones.

“Are you hungry little one?” The man asked with a deep musty voice sending shivers down Zeros body, his eyes couldn't focus on the person before him, he saw nothing but a blurry figure.

The hand under his chin started to gently caress his cheek that turned a dark pink, then the hand made it's way down to the side of his neck where he had the tattoo, the mans fingers slowly following the lines.

“When he is touching me, it feels... strange. His voice, he reminds me of someone... But who?”

The man chuckled as Zero unknowingly exposed more of his neck.

“What's your name little one?” The stranger asked softly noticing that Zero quickly were dozing off into sleep as he moved his fingers up and down the lines on Zeros neck.

“Z-Zero” He answered tiredly before collapsing forward, the last thing Zero heard before passing out was the strangers name.

“Nice to meet you Zero, my name is Riku”

Finished~ Hope you didn't mind the writing switch... Everything just seemed so much nicer this way... or am I wrong? ^^” Anyway I'm really grateful if you just can spare some seconds/minutes to comment on the story, it will get me motivated to write faster! ;D I think there might be a nice little lemon in the next chapter! I know the story might be a bit confusing for some right now but you will understand everything better later on :)

Just who is Riku? Zero knows him?

What the hell is Yuuki talking about and answering yes to? (Even Kaname is a bit confused)

And what are purebloods doing on school campus?

(posted 1 Feb 2011) I'm already re-writing the first part, even changing some stuff to make the story flow together nicely, chapter 1 will be posted with chapter 3(this weeek or next). I recommend that you read chapter 1 ones again when I update them BECUASE you might be getting some clues about Zero/Kaname! ;)

(2 Feb) Chapter 1 is now finished (re-writen)! I recommend that you read it again if you haven't ;)
