({3/09} Ok, so apparently this was a good story. In fact, one of the more popular Pokemon Fanfic writers was happy enough to actually rate this, and high at that. Anyways, time for another sweet, non-sexual chapter.)
({11/09} Screw it, starting over with something better, all to get around a writer's block)
({12/11} editing and reposting, I love you guys)

Love is Always Bitter-Sweet
As soon as sat themselves on his bed, they kissed again, but it as less restricted then before. It was like they flipped a switch when they confessed their love for each other, going from shy and unsure to full on passionate. Their tongues softly rolled in each other's mouths, Ash's arms were firmly wrapped around her waist, pull her closer with each passing second. Misty was so happy about the whole thing, tears were streaming down her face, she couldn't believe she was on her long time crush's bed, making out with him. They broke their kiss and Misty tightly wrapped her arms around his neck, nuzzling her cheeks against his neck as her tears of joy kept flowing.
"Ash, I never want to let you go," She whispered in his ear, and he smiled, rubbing his hands softly down her back. He pushed her back, moving his hands from her back up and around to her face as he softly kissed her again. She wrapped her left leg around him and moved her hands to his shoulders, grabbing them and trying to pull him closer. She was happy for the first time in a long time, he was happier then any time of his life, even when he had gotten his first Pokemon while in this town.
There was a noise that almost sounded like a faint knock on his door, and they stopped and slightly pushed each other off. The door opened slightly and Pikachu ran straight towards them, jumping on top of Misty's chest, cheering triumphantly as he saw the young red head. Misty hugged the little mouse, then looked into Ash's eyes, her face turned as red as his did when their eyes met.
"Pikapi?" Pikachu said softly, looking back and forth between both of them, trying to understand what was happening, then realizing what that look in their eyes was. Though it was only a small Pokemon, it could feel the love coming from their eyes. To Pikachu, the power emanating from their eyes towards each other was stronger then any Volt Tackle, or any Thunder that he could produce. However a sudden snap back to reality made the little mouse remember why it came up here, although it didn't take Ash long to figure that out.
"Food," said the boy with the strong nose and bottomless stomach, he could smell the combination of his Mom and Brock's cooking coming from the kitchen. Misty sighed, hoping to have some more time with him before they went downstairs, but she knew that he was like a Snorlax when it came to food, best not to try and stop him. Pikachu jumped off of Misty and ran to the door, Ash stood up and held out his hand to Misty, who was more the than happy to take it, and they walked down to the kitchen, hand in hand.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They had a fairly large dinner, Brock and Delia worked together to make all sorts of different foods, a variety of meat, cooked vegetables, and a large helping of fried rice. Ash practically floated down to the dinner table, with a somewhat annoyed Misty tailing behind, Pikachu rode on her shoulder for the sole purpose of being close to his surrogate trainer.
The meal was amazing, while eating Ash talked about their journey while Misty told stories about people who fought at her gym. Delia told them about how things were going here, and about how she started helping Tracey and Professor Oak out from time to time. It was a great dinner, but it was a calm before a storm, as Delia would ask her son a single question that would bring about disaster.
"So Ash, what are you doing for the next week?" she asked happily, hoping to hear that he would be spending at least some time there, as well as with Misty.
"Well, I'm going to spend a few more days here, then I'm going to go back on my journey," said Ash, taking a fairly large amount of fried rice into his mouth. When he said that, Misty was devastated, she wanted him to stay longer, she wanted him to care about her and her feelings. She closed her eyes and softly scratched the table, some of the pokemon could tell that she was furious, especially Pikachu and Mr. Mime.
"Well, maybe I'll go back to my gym. Who knows, I bet I'll see a lot of cute boys wanting a badge," Misty said, trying to hold back the anger in her voice, Ash put down his chopstick and looked at her angrily.
"So what, you don't think I'm cute anymore," Ash growled. Misty stood up and got right in his face.
"Well at least I'm not going to run off on the person I just said I loved before really doing anything with them." Ash stood up after she said that, everyone in the room was starting to get very worried.
"What, so I can fulfill my lifelong dream?"
"What's more important to you, your dream or your girlfriend? Or would you rather I call Gary Oak and have him take a look at my Gym?" Mr. Mime got closer, if things got out of hand, it was going to try and stop them. It is a psychic pokemon, maybe it could tell what Ash was going to say. It was bad, something he would probably regret saying for the rest of his life, but it was too late to stop him.
"Well, maybe I'll find a cute girl in the next place I go, and maybe she'll want to be my girlfriend, maybe she'll even want to kiss m-" Misty didn't let him finish, in fact she swung her fist at him as hard as she could. There was a loud shattering sound, and then her fist hit something just in front of Ash's face. They both saw the nearly invisible barrier between then, and the slight shuffle of her feet sounded the shattered barrier that she punched through before hitting the one in front of him.
There was an eerie silence as she retracted her hand, when she did, she turned around and ran straight for the door, slamming it behind her as she ran out of the house. The house was silent again after that, everyone was looking at Ash, worried of what he would do. He reached for his Pokeballs and placed all of them on the table next to his meal, then walked around the barrier in front of him, and headed for the door.
"Pikapi," his best friend said, running right behind him.
"No Pikachu, I need to talk to her alone," Ash said, deep somber in his voice, Pikachu could hear it, and he painfully understood why. With that said, Ash calmly walked out of the house, and then ran in the only direction that she could have gone to.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Misty ran as fast as she could up route one, she was completely upset with Ash, why couldn't he just think about her enough to spend some time with her, or at least in Kanto? He was always thinking about himself, she's known that ever since she first met him. He didn't even know enough about his pokemon to get a potion or even know what a pokemon center was. Then he stole her brand new bike that she had bought right before she left Cerulean to get away from her sisters. She was so mad at his selfishness, and she stormed down route one, tears streaming down her face. As she wiped away her tears, she suddenly fell in a river.
She swam a bit until she found shore, and pulled herself onto land, still mildly shocked that she fell into a river. When she stood up, she looked around, she was standing on a fairly large rock, it looked like granite, with a slight uprising to her right, which was on the edge of the water. She fell to her knees and started crying when she realized where she was, it was where they first met, then she started to realize how stupid she sounded earlier.
*They were running from a flock of Spearow that day,* she thought to herself, *and a storm was coming too. He grabbed my bike so he could rush Pikachu to the Pokemon Center, and then I could see the Spearow coming.* She walked over to where she saw that time and calmly looked into the water, and said five words that filled her with dread, "I am such an idiot."
She got into a sort of sitting fetal position and looked down at her lap, she cried and started mentally beating herself up over what she did only a few minutes ago. Every time he did something, she yelled and screamed at him, but every time was something important. The first time was the most important of all, if she didn't let Ash take that bike, he would have probably lost Pikachu, which would have made a brand new pokemon trainer feel miserable. And what did she do when she found out that he got Pikachu safely to the Pokemon Center, of course, she yelled at him, called him a loser, and demanded he get her a new bike. She always called him selfish and worthless when things weren't going her way, but now, after coming back to where it all began, she realized she was the selfish one. She heard a noise come from the water after a while, she knew who it was, she could hear him dripping water onto thr ground right next to her, but she didn't look, she just kept crying and looking down.
"Well, this is a familiar spot," Ash said with a slight smile, trying to pull his shoes and socks off. She didn't look over or even make a response, it worried him a lot, and so, he thought about something to get her to at least smile.
"You know, I'm kinda glad I stole your bike that day," those words at least got her attention, as she slightly lifted her head. "If I didn't, I probably wouldn't have Pikachu now, and I would have never gotten you to follow me," he said, walking over and sitting next to her, looking up at the sky when he sat. "We've been through a lot Misty, we've probably taught each other so much, and even though we've always been at each others throats, we also still get along so well."
Misty looked over at him, she could see him smiling, leaning back with this hands on the ground behind him, holding him up, his feet were in the water, and he was still rather damp from his tumble into the river. He closed his eyes and continued his little speech, hoping he was getting her to cheer up.
"I'm glad I stole your bike that day Misty, because it was just a small step in the long road to stealing your heart." Without warning, she pounced on him, she kissed every inch of his face and neck, running her hands all over his soaked, shirt covered chest. It was the sweetest thing she had ever heard in her life, in fact, it made every romantic movie she'd ever seen look like crap by comparison.
"I... Love... you..." she said between kisses, then gave him a strong kiss on his lips. "...You wonderful, beautiful man." Ash was slightly shocked from her reaction of pouncing on top of him, but was happy she was feeling better, but there was still one more thing on his mind. He moved her off of him and stood up, taking her hand and pulling her off of the ground.
"Ash, what are you-?"
"I want to show you something," he said quietly, as they started walking, grabbing his shoes and socks along the way. "It's a secret place only I know about, and I really think you're going to love it." She was interested and followed happily, who knows, maybe she'd enjoy this little trip.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
They walked until they came to a rather shallow part of the river and walked across, then moved down the riverbank, as the field started to become woods. Misty was starting to get a little nervous, they were walking in the opposite direction of Pallet, and she was the only one with pokemon on her. However, she was far less nervous then someone else would have been, she was with Ash, who was still holding her hand and his shoes, a man who had caught a rather aggravated Krabby using only a stick. Knowing she was with him made her feel safer, a lot safer then she ever had been. She could see a fork in the river, one way lead towards the woods, the other headed into Jhoto towards Mt. Silver, Ash led them towards the forest, confident in where they were going.
"Not much further," he said, as it started getting darker due to the woods around them, she was getting worried as she saw Caterpie and Weedle scampering about the grass and trees. The sound of running water besides them made her want to snuggle with him so badly and fall asleep, but she wanted to see what this place he was thinking of was. When they finally arrived, she was in shock, it was a beautiful beach, right on the ocean leading down towards route twenty-one. The sun was setting, with the woods behind them, and all they could see was ocean and trees, and she was amazed with the location.
"You see," He said, "I fell in that river before when I was real little, when I got on shore, I walked this way because I was so dizzy from being thrown around in the river. I found this place after a while to relax and get my strength back, and with the pokemon around, I eventually found my way back home. This is my own private beach, I'm the only person to have ever seen this place until now, I figured after our little fight, you'd want to see the ocean and relax, I hope you enjoy this place." She could not find anything to say as she looked out into the ocean, she said even less when she looked into his eyes.
"Misty," he continued, putting his shoes down and taking both of her hands, "if you want me to give up being a pokemon trainer and be with you instead, I will release all of my pokemon, except for Pikachu of course, and never raise another pokemon for as long as I live. After all, I only want to see you happy." He rubbed her cheek as tears started to well up in her eyes, she thought what he said before was romantic, this was...
"Unbelievable," she whispered, slowly moving forward and wrapping her arms around him. He hugged her back and smiled, he knew she was happy to hear him say that, and to him, that's all that mattered. Misty, however, was trying to figure out how to pay this man, the wonderfully sweet man of her back for all of this, even after how she had treated him for all these years. It dawned on her what she could do, she heard her sisters talk about it before, and he was definitely someone who she thought deserved it.
"Ash," she said softly, "I want to show you something no one else except for you has ever really seen, and like this beach it means a lot to me, please turn around and let me get it ready for you." He nodded and did what she said, trying as hard as he could to figure out what this wonderful angel of his was going to give him.
