Maka sighed feeling very uncomfortable. If she and Soul wanted to go on a group mission to Korea, they had to take a physical. It wasn't just them that were going, being as it was a 'group' mission. Black Star, Tsubaki, Killik, Fire, and Thunder were also going. They already had there physicals including Soul. Maka made the mistake to wait until today, the day before the mission, to take hers because Nygus wasn't at Shibusen today, meaning Stein was going to be the one to conduct the physical. Maka was now blushing as she watched the sadistic scientist cross the room to get a stethoscope. Once he came back he place the end of it under Maka's sweater and long sleeve button up blouse.
"Breath in," Stein said "breathe out." He moved the stethoscope on her stomach. Maka winced at the coldness. "Again...out." He then moved it up and dangerously close to her breasts making the younger scythe meister blush even deeper. "Again...out." Stein removed the medical instrument and wrote something down on a clip bored. Maka once again sighed hoping that there wasn't anything too physical in a physical.
"Alright," Stein said ,turning his attention back to Maka, "I need you to stand up and slightly bend over." Maka eyes widened a bit. She nodded while standing up and hesitantly bent over at her waist. Stein lifted Maka's shirt a little revealing her back. Maka wasn't expecting that so she tensed up a bit, and that didn't go unnoticed by Stein. "Relax. I'm just checking your spine," he said tracing said body part with his finger. Maka shivered a bit at his touch. It was the first time a guy touched her naked back, and she hated to admit it, but she really liked it."Okay, finished," Stein said.
I gazed up at a book shelves in DWMA's library. I was so fascinated by the school, because it was so interesting and I barely knew anything about it. Right now, since it was my first day teaching, Lord Death let me have the first couple of hours off to explore the school and get to know my surroundings. I happily took him on that offer. I turned around from the book shelf and gazed out from the balcony on the second floor of the library. Shibusen had a very over sized library, and right now there were few students in there. That was mainly because it was class time, and they were probably skipping. I continued to look down at the students. Even though some where whispering amongst themselves it was clear by the way that they dressed and looked that they were very different from each other. And that was one of the reasons why I liked Shibusen. It was different. Among the different color heads of hair was one that was now familiar to me. No one could forget someone with black hair and three white stripes. I was a little surprised. Death The Kid didn't seem like the type of person to skip class. Especially since his father runs the school. I left the balcony to walk down the stairs to the first floor noticing two blonde haired curvy girls next to the young reaper. In my daze of wondering who they were, I forgot where I was going and bumped into someone.
"S-Sorry," came a shaky voice.
"No, it's my fault," I said looking at who I bumped into. It was a boy with lavender hair, that I really couldn't describe. Also by the look of him, he appeared to be shaking. He looked at me with big onyx eyes. He was so cute!
"I don't think I've seen you around here," he said "are you new?" I giggled a bit, because he was just...so damn adorable.
"I guess you could say that," I replied. He looked at me in wonderment of why I was giggling.
"I'm Crona," he said.
"I'm _," I said holding out my hand. He shook it.
"Are you in class crescent moon?" he asked. I once again giggled adding to his confusion.
"No, I'm a teacher," I said. Crona blushed a little.
"Oh, Sorry," he said looking down. I smiled at him.
"Don't be. I take that as a compliment," I said. He looked up at me and smiled. So adorable! I thought. The bell then rang indicating that it was the next hour, and it was time for me to start teaching. I sighed. I hope I remember where my classroom is I thought.
After running around the school like a maniac I figured that finding my classroom was useless unless I had help. I sighed as I went down another empty hallway lined with candles. Shibusen had a very confusing layout. As I neared the corner of the hallway I heard a voice.
"I should just die!" it sounded like Kid. I began to walk a little faster as I wondered what could cause the shinigami to wish such a horrible fate on himself. When I got there he was alone. His skull pin ,that he usually wore, was on the ground next to him as he was in a dog like position pounding his fist on the ground. As I looked around the scene, there was no sign as to what might have caused the problem, so my only option was to ask Kid. I sat down on the ground next to him and patted his back.
"Kid?" I asked "What's wrong?" He didn't look up at me as he replied.
"My skull clip got off centered, and I can't fix it right. My symmetry is ruined!" he yelled. I sighed noting that because of his white stripes he was never symmetrical in the first place, but I decided not to mention that.
"It's alright. It doesn't have to be perfect," I said trying to comfort him. This time instead of not looking at me, Kid got on his knees and put his hands on each of my shoulders.
"Yes, it does! Everything has to be as symmetrical as possible!" he said. I looked at his beautiful eyes that were shining because of tears. Damn, if he wasn't a student I'd... I shook those inappropriate thoughts from my head. Kid was a student. He was one of my students. I can't think dirty thoughts about him. I sighed and tried to focus on the situation at hand. Kid is obsessed with symmetry and balance. Well who would have thought...
"Here, let me fix it," I said taking the skull clip from the floor and placing it on him, trying to make it as centered as possible. After that I stood up and helped Kid, who had a confused and cute expression on his face, up. He looked at his clip and smiled at me. I smiled back at him, and then out of nowhere he hugged me. I blushed thinking about how this didn't help my inner inappropriate thoughts for him.
"Thank you so much!" he said letting go. I laughed a little knowing that fixing an off centered clip was a big deal for him.
"No problem. Now, I need help finding my class, if you don't mind," I said. He smiled at me then took my hand and led me into the opposite direction that I had been looking in for my class before.
"It's no trouble," he said pulling me along "I was actually headed there myself." I smirked.
"Well, don't you think you're a little late?" I asked with a joking tone in my voice.
"So are you," he said still pulling me as if I were a child.
"Wow Kid, you act as if I'm not an adult," I said. Kid smirked.
"You don't look like one," he said. I blushed at the comment. I had finally made it to my classroom with Kid's help. I had told Kid to go in ahead of me, so that I could calm down a bit, due to being nervous. After much needed deep breaths, I walked in with confidence. There were several students looking down at me in surprise when I wrote the words "Professor_" on the bored. The one that was most shell shocked was Soul. When I turned around I noticed his caught off guard expression and smiled at him. I also noticed Black Star, Tsubaki, and Crona among the group of students, but like Kid they weren't surprised. The two blonde girls that were with Kid in the library were also there, and like they had been before, they were both on each side of Kid.
"Hello class," I said in a controlling tone "I'm professor_, and I'm your new teacher."
Class had finally ended. The students were piling out in groups. I hoped that my class liked me. I didn't want to be the teacher that everyone talked about. Little did I know they did, but it wasn't bad. I went to erase the bored, but stopped when I noticed Soul making his way over to my desk. I smiled at him.
"So you're a teacher," he said. I nodded.
"Yep, don't I look like one?" I teased. Soul shook his head.
"Nope...not at all," he said eyes scanning over my body making me feel as if I had done something inappropriate.
"Well, to be honest when I first met you I hoped that you weren't a student," I said. Then I covered my mouth. Did I just say ‘hoped’? Soul started laughing.
"Now why would you hope that?" he asked. I blushed.
"Well... because...the world would be in danger if a young student like you were Lord Death's Scythe," I said. Soul smirked and chuckled a little.
"Don't worry, Spirit may be old, but he's still kicking," he said. I giggled a little. I would have had the dirty thoughts come again, but they were interrupted when I heard a girl's voice.
"Come on Soul! Stein will be pissed if we're late!" I had learned her name today. It was Maka. She was also in my class. She disappeared from view into the hallway. Soul groaned.
"Well, I have to go. Meister's calling," he said. I smiled at him.
"Bye Soul," I said.
"Bye," he said leaving the classroom "Cute laugh by the way!" Oh god I thought teaching is going to become even more difficult.
Stein sighed as he looked from the failing test paper in his hand to Maka. Said girl was looking down and fidgeting with the bottom of her sweater. The class period had ended and they were the only two people in the room.
"Can you explain this to me ,Maka?" Stein asked handing her the test paper. Maka blushed from embarrassment looking down at it.
"I'm sorry," she said "I guess I didn't study enough."
"Don't apologize to me," Stein said "I could care less if you fail, but you are my best student, and I'm curious." Maka looked up at him.
"Is there any way that I could make up for it?" she asked. Stein shrugged.
"What do you have in mind?" he asked.
"I could always come to your house tomorrow. We could do an experiment, or a dissection," she said. Stein was shocked. Did Maka just say that she wanted to go to his house? The students of Shibusen always tried to stay away from the patchwork lab as much as possible in the fear that they might get experimented on. Stein shook his reaction off, and his curiosity got the best of him.
"Well, I guess," he said. Maka smiled.
"Thank you!" she said rushing out of the room. She smiled to herself. She made sure to go to Stein's house tomorrow instead of today, because she knew that Marie wouldn't be there.
