The Nidoran sensed that Ash wanted lshowing its strength and growing stronger is one of the things it lives for.
"Pikachu use agility." Pikachu took off in a burst of speed getting behind Nidoran. "Now use thundershock" Pikachu shoot off a small lighting bolt and hit Nidoran.
Nidoran let out a painful cry, but soon cased after pikachu trying to strike it with its horn. Pikachu was far faster though and easily out ran Nidoran. Nidoran stopped and began spiting out poison at Pikachu. Still Pikachu was able to dodge its attacks. "Now Pikachu use thunderschock again." And once more Pikachu fired out a thunder bolt at Nidoran causing it to collapse. "Now pokeball go" Ash said as he throw his Pokeball at Nidoran, Nidoran was sucked into the ball. The ball stopped shaking meaning a successful capture.
"That was very good battle Pikachu. Now Charmander do you want a explanation of my plan?" asked Ash?
"Der Car man""I'll take that as a yes. You see the pokedex told me that Nidoran would poison who ever attacked it physically, so I used Pikachus long-range attacks and super speed to fight it. Pikachus great speed lets it dodge many attacks and few pokemon have a defense against its lighting attacks, but it can take too many direct attacks. its best strategy is to use hit hard and keep moving around he battle field. And that was the plan, understand Charmander."
"Char Char"
"Also the battle was important because if the pokemon doesn't think I am strong enough it wont listen to me in battle. Of course when you trade pokemon you run into this problem a lot, understand." asked Ash?
"Mander"
"Good, I think now lets see how far we go before we have to set up camp" said Ash
A while later Ash came to a small cliff with a river at the bottom but what grabbed his attention is when he saw a two headed pokemon pecking at the ground. " What's that, better check the dex."
Doduo the Twin Bird Pokémon. Despite being a flying type pokemon it can only run like the wind. Its two heads seem to communicate with each other with telepathically.
"I heard about this pokemon, people ride and it a lot when they are trying go cross large distances. If I catch it then I would be able to get from town to town a lot faster, I fine addition to my pokemon group. Charmander I think you should try battling this time."

"Great it's a heard pokemon" Ash said to himself slightly worried because remembered that pokemon in herds always gang up upon trainers and he only has two pokemon that could fight.
"Charmander forget about Doduo and use ember on the charging pokemon, Pikachu use thunder shock on the pokemon too" Ash commanded. Ash had a secret move just in case he was attacked by a big group of pokemon, but he was hesitant to use it just yet.
The two pokemon fired off their attacks, but the three pokemon easily dogged the attacks thanks to their speed. The three pokemon then used quick attack striking both pokemon and Ash with a high speed tackle nocking Ash to the ground. As Ash looked up one of the Dodrio was going to use drill peck on him. Ash was able roll out of the way, he also knew that this was getting out of hand so he knew he had to use his secret move. "Pikachu use discharge" Ash called out. Pikachu fired off lighting bolts in all directions.
The Dodrio were still too fast and were able to doge the electric attack with their speed and foot work, but the attack hit Charmander. "Great this is a heck of a first day, I better use an escape move. Charmander use smoke screen."
Charmander blow out a large amount of smoke. Hidden by the smoke Ash picked up both of his pokemon and broke out into a run. "Keep spitting out that smoke we have to find some place to hide"
said Ash. Unfortunately for Ash he did not pay attention to where he was running and ran off the cliff and into the river.
Before he fell into the river he put Charmander back into his pokeball. Ash struggled to keep himself and Pikachu above the water. The two of them continued floating down the river until they could reach the shore.
As Ash got to the shore he a heard a cry for help "Ahhhh get these bugs away, someone help me" said a girl with red hair. Ash saw that the girl was being attacked by a pack of Scyther. Ash knew that Scyther was one of the most dangerous pokemon in Kanto so he knew he had to finish it very quick, the girl was able to doge the blade of the Scythers but she was taking a few hits from their air slash attack. "Pikachu use discharge" Ash called out. Pikachu once again shoot lighting out in all directions striking the Scythers, the girl, and Ash himself. The move was very effective against the Scythers making them retreat.
Ash went over to the girl laying on the ground her cloths were barely on her body after all the air slashes they took. "Are you alright?" asked Ash.
"Uhhhhh let me say two things, first you idiot, who electrocutes someone they are trying to save" she said and slap his check. "And thank for saving me" and kissed him on his other check.
Ash could not believe this girl as he rubbed both is checks. "Did you really need to slap me you um and what is your name?" asked Ash

"Now that their off balance Octillery take aim and use rock blast" ordered Misty. With pin point accuracy Octillery shot out rocks that hit each of the Dodrio.
Faced with such power the Dodrio were forced to retreat.
"That was amazing" said Ash. "Wait if you were so strong why were you having such a hard time with the Scyther?" Ash asked.
"Well you know it just that. For the first thing you only got lucky against the Scyther. Because bug type pokemon are simple creatures ruled by their instincts they fled when they were hit by a move he were weak against" said Misty.
Ash was finding what she was say very hard to believe. "Wait I know whats wrong, your scared of bug pokemon aren't you." said Ash.
"So what. If you want to make something of it why don't we have a battle right here and now." said Misty.
"Don't worry being scared of bug pokemon is no big deal." said Ash
"Really, you won't make fun of me and call me a coward?" asked Misty
"Of course not, besides both of us had a rough day and it was clear that you used up most of your aura defending against the air slash attacks and boosting the power of your spike canon" said Ash
"Oh you saw that" said Misty.
"Yeah lets just set up camp for the night" said Ash.

"Water pokemon are the most wonderful kind of pokemon there is I have made it my goal in the not only to help water pokemon but also to have the people of this world see them for the wonders they are" explained Misty.
"Well that's nice but what were you doing out here there aren't very many water pokemon out here, or at least any that are rare or valuable?" Ash asked.
"Well my best client wants a lot of Bidoof or their evolved form Bibarel. Normally they can only be found in Viridian Forest, in Kanto at least. But this time of year they swim down this river for the flowers that grow around here." said Misty.
"What about you why are you traveling around. Are you working on a guild job" asked Misty.
"I am taking the gym challenge to compete in the pokemon league." said Ash. "What you plan and getting both the earth badge of Saffron City form Giovanni and the marsh badge form Sabrina of Viridian city. You do know that you have to get three advanced badges just to face them and to even be allowed to face someone for an advanced badge them you must have three basic badges. Why not take on the Battle Frontier like most people? You only need to compete in five of their tournament in order enter the league and impress the Frontier Brains, less if you defeat a Frontier Brain. In fact it is the Frontier Brians that move around form city to city, why not take the easier route?"
"Simple if you get in by using the Battle Frontier you must go though the elimination round. But a person with 8 badges is given a by for that round and allowed in the main tournament " explained Ash.
"Okay that makes some sense so where will get your first badge?"
"Frodomar City has the Rush Badge I think I will start their."

Well there is chapter 2. This is what I think the story will look like from here on out. Also how did I handle the pokemon battle. it was the first time I did it and I could use the feed back. Still don't know which water pokemon Ash should have so I started a poll, please vote. Lastly what did you think of the changes I made on how you get into the pokemon league tournament, I always loved the idea of the tournament but I didn't not like how many people seemed to get 8 gym badges so I made a second way to get into the league. I also set up I system to show that not all gyms are equal. Last thing I brought the capsules form dragon ball in to explain where they keep their tents and lunch gear that you never see them carry.
