Today... Today was the day we would join the training corps. But we made a promise before...
Eren: I want to make a promise. If we both manage to make it into the top ten can we... Can we...
Me: Oh... I... Didn't think you were ready for that sort of... Relationship...
Eren: Ehm but... Aren't you ready?
She gave me her sexiest look and she knew i couldn't resist.
Me: Okay. I promise. You will have the greatest time of your life in 3 years.
I return the gesture and gives my sexiest and most unresistable look i could.
Later that day.
Instructor: I am Keith Shardis and unfortunetly for you i will be in charge of you! I am not here to give you a warm welcome because you are all of you are now simply livestock waiting to be devoured! But not even that you are lower than those disgusting beasts because your nothing! I will have to train you useless shit for 3 whole years and I will teach you how to slay titans! When you face them in 3 years will you still just be food or will you become glorious a wall to protect our walls or will you or one of mankind's great champions who will destroy the titans? The choice lies in your hands!
Me: (I have tried to suppress my anger all these years. Eren has always showed it but i have kept it in and i'm ready to boil over and release all of my anger!)
He now inspects the lines. He stops to comment on many but i don't listen untill he reaches Armin.
Shardis: Who the hell are you?
Armin: I'm Armin Arlert from Shigashina sir!
Shardis: Is that so? Name fit for a retard. You parents named you that?
Armin: No sir my grandpa.
Shardis: Why are you here Arlert?
Armin: To contribute to humanity's victory sir!
Shardis: How admirable you should make first-rate titan feed! Third squad about face!
He then walks towards a blond tall man.
Shardis: Who the hell are you?
Blonde Man: I'm Thomas Wagner from Trost sir!
Shardis: I can't hear you!
Blonde man: I'm Thomas Wag-
I then faze out again for a while facing only forward until he approaches me.
Shardis: Who the hell are you!
Me: Ralp Eberhardt from Shigashina sir!
Shardis: Eberhardt... So you are royal blood... Your brother is a Captain now. I guess theres no need to ask why you are here but remember i'm expecting much of you.
He then continues.
I faze away again then... Remembering how that titan killed Eren's mom and stomped om my dad and that day...
Eren then waves her hand in front of me.
Eren: Ralp? Are you there?
I regain my senses.
Eren: What happend?
Me: I just remembered that day...
Eren: Oh... Eh but you should get to know everyone.
A girl runs past us.
Me: Who's that and why is she running?
Eren: Potato Girl... Erm Sasha Blouse she ate a potato while Shardis inspected her. And he made her run until she drops. She has ran for about 5 or 6 hours now.
Me: Wow.
She then tells me about the rest of the training corps.
We then go to the dining hall to eat and people keep asking us questions about that day.
Guy 1: I heard the colossal was so big it could straddle the wall!
Me: It was just big enough so that i could se up to it shoulders so it wasn't THAT gigantic.
Mina: What did it look like?
Eren: It had barely any skin and it's mouth was enormous.
Guy 2: What about the armored titan?
Me: It looked kinda like a normal titan.
Guy 2: Then what does a normal titan look like?
Both me and Eren dropped our spoons and remember that titan...
It was so terrifying. They always had those demented smiles. I remember how it ate Eren's mom... It must have ate my mom to since i never saw her again...
I snap back to my senses.
Guy 1: I think that's enough queastions.
Just as i am about to confirm what he said Eren speaks up.
Eren: No it's not that. They really aren't that big of a deal. When we master the 3D manouvergear they will be no match for us! We can do it. We can become soldiers and slay them all! I really just swallowed wrong earlier. I'm gonna join the Survey Corps and purge this world of the titans! I will extermi-
Jean: Are you insane? Joining the Survey Corps is just reckless and idiotic.
Eren: Weren't you the coward who wanted to join the Military Police Brigade and hide behind the walls?
Jean: I'm just honest. It's more preferable than acting all tough when you are actually scared shitless.
Eren rises up.
Eren: Got something to say?
Guy 3: Hey stop it!
Jean: Oh i wasn't really...
They start to walk towards each other but i manage to stop Eren before she does anything reckless but then the bells rings signaling night time.
Jean: My bad i wasn't trying to judge you for how you think. Lets just get along.
Eren: Yeah guess i overreacted...
They shake hands and Eren leaves and i follow close behind.
Me: Hey Babe no goodnight kiss or something?
Eren: Oh sorry.
She gently kisses me.
As i leave for the Male Dorms i see Mikasa.
Me: What's up?
Mikasa: I think Jean tried to flirt with me...
Me: Are you okay with that or should i "talk" to him about it?
Mikasa: Do whatever you feel like.
I go to my dorm.
Me: Hey Jean.
Jean: What's up?
Me: I heard you flirted with Mikasa...
Jean: Yeah. Got a problem with that?
Me: Yeah she's mine.
Jean: God are you gonna take all the ladies?
Me: What if i do?
Jean: Tsk you idiot.
Me: Mikasa and Eren are mine. If anyone of you even touches one of them... Well your families will receive a little something in the mail.
Jean: Man you are messed up. I wasn't trying to start a fight.
Me: You better not.
Jean: Yeah Yeah i get it. Sorry.
Everyone looks in terror at me. I go to bed and fall asleep.
The next day we have a test on 3D maneuver gear.
Shardis: First your aptitude will be tested. Those who fail are not even worthy as titan bait! Failures will be sent back to reclaim land.
I barely wobble at all. I manage to pull it of pretty easy and then Shardis approaches me.
Shardis: Let me have a look at your gear this seems to easy...
He takes a good examination until he says...
Shardis: This is actually broken guess they forgot to check on this part during maintenance. I'm suprised you could pull it off. Good work Eberhardt. People Few could pull of such a feat.
Then i look towards Mikasa who seems to be doing well as well and a Inspector is inspecting her and talking to a man beside him the man then points towards Eren... She seems to be failing.
Shardis: What the hell are you doing Eren Jaeger? Raise your upper body!
Later me and Mikasa tries to talk to her about how she has to do it.
Mikasa: You just have to focus on the basics.
Me: Try to keep up your upper body. You don't really have to worry about being perfect or anything as long as you manage to pull it of at all.
Eren: That's easy for you to say Mr Perfect!
Me: Haha.
Mikasa: Try to keep your balance centered and rest your weight on the waist and solo belts.
Armin: You can do it Eren if i could so can you!
Eren: Okay i think i got it... Lift me up Ralp.
I slowly lift her up but she immediately hits her head and blacks out for a while. When it's dinner she just sits and stares at a wall. And i can hear people talking shit about her.
Mikasa makes her snap out of it.
Armin: Don't let their trash talk bring you down.
Me: Yeah you still have until tomorrow to get better.
Eren: But I'm so pathetic... At this rate i won't even be able to graduate...
Mikasa: You should just forget about that.
All of us looks at her.
Eren: What?
Mikasa: You should just forget about becoming a soldier. Theres more to fighting than throwing your life away.
Eren: Have you forgotten all the pain i went through that day? I won't ever give up so easely!
Me: Eren I trust you. You just have to do like you always do. Be brave, use your detemination and... Just do it!
Eren: Thanks.
Me: And remember what we promised... If you don't manage to pull through... What would happen with us?
Eren: Was that doubt?
Me: No but-
Eren: I think i get it now...
She just runs away.
Mikasa: She just has to understand...
I leave as well. Only Sasha and Mikasa are left.
I later see that Eren goes around asking for help with the training along with Armin but i decide that it would be better to leave her be. I close my eyes and sleep...
The next day is the day it is supposed to happened. Eren will have a second chance. I really am rooting for her and she manages for half the time but... She fails...
Shardis: Let her down.
They lower her to the ground.
Eren: I can still...
Shardis: Wagner lend Jaeger your belt.
Thomas: Yes sir!
They lift her up again and this time... She succeeds!
Shardis: The metal fitting of yours was broken. We have never seen this kind of damage to the belt... So i guess we will have to update the maintenance checklist.
Everyone looks at her in disbelief. Commenting that she still managed for a while with the broken gear.
Eren: So do i pass?
Shardis: Your good to go.
Eren: Yes i did it! Mikasa you don't need to pamper me anymore! I did it! Ralp, Armin! I don't need to depend on anyone anymore.
Me: (I kinda liked it when you depended on me...)
Mikasa: What?
Me: Nothing..
After they let Eren down we kissed and hugged... Even made out.
Me: I'm sorry for before...
Eren: Eh it's not that of a big deal.
The next month we were running in the forest. I remembered how Armin struggled but then got in front of everyone else... Carrying his own weight and then attacking titan training dummy's in the forest... And then some time later martial arts where i won against everybody but it was though but we still managed through it all until our graduation. I remember being in the top 10 but not much more. The next day we were standing in the crowd like everyone else. We saw Erwin Smith himself and Levi himself.
Eren: They look completely different from 5 years ago. People really count on the Survey Corps allot.
Then a woman behind us responded. It was Hanna and Franz.
Hanna: It's cheering everybody up. The past wont have to be repeated.
Franz: The Artillery has improved as well. The colossal wont come again right?
Hanna: Yeah.
Eren: How could you be so naive you old married couple?
Hanna: Please don't call us a couple.
Franz: Don't be so hasty Eren.
Eren looks angrily at them but then we hear a voice from behind.
Man: Hey you there!
Me: It's Claus?
Claus: You guys graduated yesterday right? I can't believe they let you kids through hahaha.
Eren: I heard they made you a Captain.
Claus: True... But hey I'm sorry i couldn't save your mother...
Eren: It's not your fault. I'm not as ignorant anymore. I won't let such a tragedy happen again. I will defeat all the titans.
She runs away.
Me: Okay cya around.
Me. Mikasa and Armin run after Eren.
As we reached our position on the wall we notice most of our Training Corps. Eren is in disbelief and starts asking everyone about it. Meanwhile i stare out. I swear i saw a human out there if not more but it must have been my imagination. Then Sasha appears.
Sasha: Hey guys guess what i brought along.
She shows us a huge piece of meat.
Me: You will get in trouble if you steal meat Sasha!
Eren: Do you wanna be locked up in solitary?
Thomas: Yeah just bring it back.
Sasha: We can split it and share it and eat it with bread.
Mina: Meat is a luxury now that we have lost so much land.
Sasha: Don't worry once we retake the lands we can keep pigs and cows again.
She hides it in a chest.
Now everyone suddenly wants a piece of it.
I feel as we can actually make this work. That humanity can win... But then just behind Eren... It appeared... And i could only think back to my life... That day... But then i remembered something pleasant.
