Part 20: His Rival
Weeks passed and their journey was becoming even tougher, yet it was also becoming that much more enjoyable for them . They had eight badges now and were going after their last ribbon needed for the Grand Festival. Sure, they had about 59 now, but 1 more wouldn't hurt. Most were prize ribbons for effort , friendship , beauty, etc, though only four were actual contest ribbons. As they sat in the Sootopolis Contest Hall Will said, "This Shouldn't be too hard Gardie". She nodded with a happy "I know".
Many well known coordinators and trainers were in the hall, but one stood out above them all. He was a very flamboyant very confident blonde man . He had a single sky blue streak in his hair , designer brand clothes and an unmatched personal flare only he could pull off. No doubt in Will's mind that this guy was gay, but that wasn't the point , his contest persona was almost convincing that he was just eager for a fight. Will was decked out in all black including a pair of shades to cover his eyes , the dark side persona seemed to draw a lot of peoples attention . Girls and guys alike fawned over the thought of a dark brooding young man, who often picked a random person from the crowd with which to give a single rose during each appearance.
Gardie chuckled looking at that man who boasted happily with his Jynx " No one can beat my Jenny. This will be my fifth and final ribbon!" Gardie stood up " I beg to differ ". Everyone looked shocked that the pokemon had just talked. Will sat her back down and said, "Calm down Gardie"! The flamboyant young man had hearts in his eyes for a moment. After regaining his focus, he looked at the gothic man and said, "Quite outspoken isn't she? " Will nodded briefly rolling his shoulder "Yea...and you are ?" He extended a hand before he spoke," I am Roderick " . Will stood up taller than the man, thanks to the height of his platform boots. "The name is William Darkside and I am the undefeated Dark Prince!" Roderick back peddled for a moment, for the name was very well known in the contest scene . He struck a confident pose and said," I care not if you are Juan himself, I will defeat any and all comers!" Will brushed his hair from his face " I'm sure you will".
