Robots, Games And Chocolate

( With Near )

Near was sitting on the floor playing with his Robots and various toys quietly.
Gevanni was by the computers keeping an eye on Light/Kira’s movements.
Rester came in carrying a tray with Water, Sandwich, A cup of tea and Near’s medication. “Please sir, You should eat something before you take your medicines.”
Near looked over the the tray Rester had brought and picked up 2 of his tablets taking them with half of the glass of water. Leaving the rest “I’m not hungry and i don’t need them” Pointing to the rest of the tablets, Before starting to play with his toys again.
Rester sighed taking the tray away.
“Halle’s back.” Gevanni spoke up from in front of the computer where he was sitting.
Near stood and silently made his way to his room. Rester and Gevanni sighed “He needs to eat and sleep.” Rester said quietly.

Rester sighed ‘Don’t you see it Gevanni,He’s a kid not a big detective’ he thought to himself.
Halle walked in looking around the room “Where is he?”
Gevanni spoke up “He playing ‘I’m the boss so don’t tell me what to do’ Thing by hiding in his room.”
Halle gave a stern stern to Gevanni before walking down the hall and knocking on the door. “Sir, I have a message for you.” She waited a few minutes, about to give up walking away she heard a quiet “Come in.”
She opened the door walking in quietly shutting the door behind her. Near was sitting amongst a pile of teddy plushies solving various puzzles.
Laying them in a pile next to him. “Well...” he said in a low monotone voice
“Mello is recovering nicely bandages should be off in 7-9 days, Also i have a letter for you to read from Mello.”
“Throw it away i don’t need it ..Anything else.” Near stated putting the completed puzzle down.
“I can’t do that sir i promised him..” She paused at the look in his eyes when he raised them. “He said it’s important, He’s not expecting a reply he just wants you to read it.” She finished crouching in front of Near. “If not today keep it to read after this case is over, Please Near” She held the held the letter out.
Near took it slowly and looked at Mello’s neat handwriting “Fine, I’ll keep it ... Don’t disturb me unless it’s urgent.” Near said turning away from Halle.
“Yes sir.” Standing Halle gave Near a sad look before walking out the room and going down to the main room.

Near stared at Mello’s Handwriting for the longest time, Before carefully opening the letter. He pulled it out and began to read....
* Near,
So formal once again, Although this time i’m writing to sort things out.
I know how you feel for Matt even is he doesn’t realize how you feel.
I want him to be happy which is why i chose to write this.
I’ve asked him, He told he loves you and me. He loves us both, He wants us both.
So to keep every one happy...I propose we share him... I can tell what you’re thinking ‘How can we when you hate me so much.’
Well if you do agree to this maybe we can work together as for personal stuff we can work out that when needed.
This won’t mean i like you ... I just want Matt to be happy and i know you want that to... No matter how much you shut yourself off from the real world... it’s still there Near it won’t go away.
He is not happy at the moment with just me he wants you to....

Near re-read it a few times to make sure he had read it correctly. Before folding it away carefully. “I won’t be hurt again. I won’t” Near said to himself putting the letter away safely and climbing on his bed. ‘Three of us, wouldn’t work not when Mello hates me. ‘ Near thought sighing and closing his eyes trying to get a little sleep.


In the main room Rester, Gevanni and Halle were talking quietly near the computers.
“Near needs to start taking his medicines i don’t think its wise him skipping them.” Gevanni said keeping an eye on the monitors.
“What can we do, Like it or not Gevanni he is our boss.” Rester said in reply.
“Arguing between ourselves won’t help... At least he is focused on work.” Halle sighed “Anything we do won’t help him.. The only one who can help isn’t here.”
“Then why not drag Matt back here.” Gevanni said.
“Because Near doesn’t want that, Don’t you think Matt hasn’t tried talking to Near. Near ignores it and told Matt not to contact him again as it to distracting to him.” Halle said
“He is shutting himself off emotionally, Ready to take on Kira” Rester added “we’ll continue with his orders.” He said checking the cameras from Nears room. “At least he is sleeping for now.”
Gevanni and Halle nodded in agreement before going back to their own tasks.
