I really didn't exaggerate him... Why do people like Paul?

Aria sighed as she lifted her bags off the ship to carry them to her new residence. The school she would be attending was the focus point of the Pokemon World as the school that taught only the best trainers in positions that apply to being a gym leader or elite. The school, much to Aria’s disdain, was named the Lilycove Academy. “Why does it have to be in Lilycove?”

“Think of it thisss way…” Lucy hissed, “Thisss isss the bessst place for both weather and accesss. It doesssn’t go lower than thirty on a given day, ssso reptilian trainersss like myssself aren’t at a disssadvantage.”

“I guess that is a good point…” The Mew glanced, “But bad things always happen to-” She ran into someone.

The purple-haired youth glared over to her as his eyes scoured her body. “So you must be that Mew that idiot knows…” Aria was starting to look nervous as she felt his gaze as he pulled out a Pokedex. “What? A gentle nature? Likes to eat a lot?” He growled in disgust, “And all you know is transform, confusion, and some fighting moves. You are a waste of perfectly good legendary.” With a turn, he walked off.

“What a dick!” The Mew cried.

“So you met Paul…” A darkly tanned trainer glanced as he walked up. In a snap, he grasped onto her hands. “But such a rare and lovely creature should be fully appreciated.” A two-foot purple frog’s foreleg started to glow a bright pink as it readied an attack.

“Sorry, I like girls.”

“…” The Pokemon cancelled its attack in honor of its partner’s speechlessness. “Really?”

“Really.”

“That was a record breaker.”

“You’re one of Ash’s friends, right?” She added.

“Yep.” He nodded, “He’ll be here later today. Until then, how about I treat you two to drinks?”

Aria glanced over to the now blushing snake trainer. “Well… I should unpack, but I think Lucy’s free.”

Walking over to Brock’s side, Lucy gave a small smile. “I’ll sssee you later, Aria.”

With a sigh, the Mew tried to lift the baggage before using confusion to carry them. Walking the Sky Dorm, she found her room number sitting on the first floor. “Well, that’s one good thing today… Who’s my roommate?” She scanned the door to show a little whiteboard with a Mew decal in a corner, but no names included. “Oh well, no matter.” She opened the door, unpacked, and plopped on the bed. After falling asleep, she awoke to find a familiar blond smiling at her. “Cynthia?”

“Aria’s sleeping face is cure as well.” She smiled.

“What are you doing?”

“I was unpacking, but I got distracted.”

Aria sat up in a daze. “What? Did I leave the door unlocked; did you just assume that the door with a Mew on it was mine?”

“I’m your roommate.” The champion beamed. “It looks like it will be the two of us.”

“Joy and rapture.”

“Come on…” She smiled. “It won’t be that bad.”

“One condition: No inviting yourself into my bed.”

Cynthia sighed, “I guess… By the way, I don’t see a uniform hanging for you?”

“I’m transforming my clothes nowadays.” She explained, “Mew fur is really comfortable.”

“Well… I’m going to change, so if you’re going to be squeamish about it…”

Aria sighed. “We’ve already been through that. I just asked because of the last time.”

The blonde fished her hair out of the collar of the shirt as she glanced at a clock. “So, when’s dinner around here?”

“So interested in food?” The Mew glanced. “You have simple tastes, don’t you?”
Cynthia couldn’t help but laugh at the low rumbling of a feline stomach. “You’re one to complain.”

“Right… I’ll show you to the dining hall.”

In the dining hall, the two shuffled through the cue finding their meal. “So, you already have people giving you trouble?” Cynthia prodded.

“It’s terrible!” Aria moaned, “I could feel his leering… And then he opened his Pokedex and complained about how it said I liked to eat a lot. I don’t eat that much…”
Cynthia turned to look at her holding a pile of food, and even more being held with confusion. “Right… Not at all.”

“Hey! Aria!” Ash called from a table. “Why don’t you sit with us?”

With the soft sound of plates hitting the table from a rather clumsy dispersion of confusion, Aria took a seat with Ash’s group. “It’s the first time I’ve actually sat in this part of the building.”

Ash shrugged. “You’re normally with the Hoenn gyms. Problem is, most trainers are so territorial that they-”

“Mind if I sit here?” A new voice entered. The group turned their eyes to see a girl wearing the school’s top and a pair of wind pants. “Oh! Miss Cynthia!”

The champion shuffled over to provide seating for the new trainer. “So, you brought Lucario, right?”

“Yep!” The pink-haired trainer nodded, “Since we could only carry one, I had to choose my best. Reggie’s taking care of everyone else.”

“What about you, Aria?”

“I only have Jynx.” She shrugged, “I don’t count since I’m a student.”

“A Jynx?” That purple-haired trainer scoffed. “It figures that the useless Mew would pick useless Pokemon.” He paused to look at the entire group. “And you hang around with the three throw-away trainers. Ash, do you pick your friends to make you feel better?”

“Paul?” Cynthia smiled softly. “Do you have a problem?”

“You really demean yourself with this company.”

She just continued her smile. “Okay then. How about Maylene and Aria against you and your Pokemon? I’m sure you wouldn’t have a problem.”

“Can I at least get a challenge?”

“Don’t worry. That’s all the challenge you’ll ever need.”

“Main parade grounds. As soon as you’re done here.” Paul commanded, “Don’t be late.” With a flick, he disappeared into the crowd.

“Miss Cynthia…” Maylene choked, “That’s a pretty big challenge…”

The champion smiled broadly. “I’m sure you two can do it. Isn’t that right, Ash?”

The black-haired lad took a rare glance from his plate. “Yeah, sure.”

Dawn matched Cynthia’s expression. “I’m sure that you two can do it! You two are so much alike!”

Aria made a point to lean forward to look at the fighter. “I’m not flat, I just like loose clothing.”

“Hey, my build’s athletic.” The pink-haired trainer glared. “Breasts only get in the way.”

The red-head at the table laughed. “Good thing Brock’s not here.”

“Set him up with Lucy.” The Mew passed.

“Wait…” The brunette of the team paused. “The snake woman? How did you do that?”

“Everyone knows that his type is existing.” Aria explained, “And I made a wild guess that Lucy had a thing for him, considering she doesn’t normally have that kind of blood flow. And he was the one to invite us to drinks.”

“Back to business.” Cynthia turned. “Aria, you mostly know fighting moves, right?”

“Sure…” The Mew nodded. “I can do Focus Punch and Focus Blast.”

“How about Aura Sphere?”

“Nope. Not a clue.”

Ash took a second glance from his plate. “Crap, I let you leave Kanto without teaching you that.”

Aria stacked a few plates at her side as she brought a few more up front. “Guess there’s no time. Anyways, I wasn’t going to hold you up to that promise.”

“Where do you keep all of that food?” The redhead blinked.

“Transformation, I guess…” She shrugged, “I’m just always hungry.”

The martial artist smirked over a cup of tea. “You’ll grow everywhere but your chest if you keep eating like that.”

“Like that’ll ever happen.” Aria laughed as she finished her final plate. “The weight will be gone next time I transform into something.”

All five of the other girls had a sudden death glare. “Must be nice…”

“Anyways, that jerk looks like he carries a dark type.” She sighed. “I’m going to need that to make an emergency recover.”

“Then it’s better not to wait.” Maylene announced. “Let’s finish this.”

The parade grounds (as archaic a term that is) had gained a small audience from people who overheard the challenge. Aria felt a sudden chill as he saw the flash of wild hair colors from the Hoenn group. Winny was going to be pissed that she was going to fight under another girl. “One fight deal, Marlene.” She announced, “Command me as you will.”

“Right.” The pink-haired girl nodded. “Just follow my lead.”

Paul walked in and flicked his ball as a very pimp-like crow appeared. “Honchkrow, let’s make this quick.”

“Do you really think you can beat two trainers?” Aria boasted.

((You’re gonna be another one of my hos after this, kitten…)) The crow laughed.

“That’s it. You’re dinner.” Aria growled as she charged the energy into her fist.

“Aria! Dodge!” The trainer called as the crow quickly crashed against her in a severe blow. “That was a Night Slash!”

“Cute.” Cynthia glared. “I’m sure you made sure you had a one in four chance of a critical hit, right?”

“Is that a problem?” He glanced, “It’s a proper tactic.”

“Aria!” The fighter called, “You need to listen to me; ignore using Focus Punch! Keep an eye on me and copy my movements!”

Aria raised an eyebrow to the thought. “Okay, what are you getting at?” Noticing the pink-haired girl swing backward with her right hand, Aria copied to get the crow across the face. “Huh. I guess that works.”

“No slacking, Honchkrow!” The purple-haired trainer barked. “Use Roost!”

((I’ll deal with you later…)) Honchkrow announced before starting to fly into a black-feathered nest.

“Oh, you’re not getting away that easily.” Aria barked as she took an amazing leap into the same nest with a charge in her hands. “Focus Blast!” As the pulse sounded, black strands showered on the crowd.

“Honchkrow!” Paul howled.

“Do it, Aria!” Maylene cheered as Aria appeared from the destruction with the black bird in hand. As she landed, she shoved her passenger into the ground to absorb the full force of the attack.

“I win.” She said through a growl.

The purple-haired trainer stood in shock- how could a pair of the weakest fighters beat his Honchkrow? “No contest!”

Aria raised an eyebrow at the cry. “I thought you said this wasn’t a challenge. Are you just going to be a prick every time something doesn’t go your way?”

“Aside from Focus Blast, none of your attacks were approved moves from the Pokemon League!”

“You should know better, child…” The dragon trainer Drake announced, drawing the attention of everyone who knew better. “Approved moves are only applicable for official matches. It’s usually just manners to not use such tactics in practice matches.” He stopped suddenly to stare straight into his eyes. “And man is not allowed to call a god a cheater. Anything a god does…” He pointed at Aria. “Is allowed under the rules of all Pokemon Leagues.”

“That’s bullshit!” He contested.

Aria yawned. “Well, I’m not needed here…” Despite the commotion, she sauntered through the crowd and to her dorm.

The entire audience just blinked at the scene. “That has to be the laziest god in existence.”
