*Ojisan – Old man, Uncle
Mochi Hana stood before the three who awaited her arrival at the restaurant. “Sorry I’m late, I had some business to take care of first.”
“My apologies for my Mochi-san, it is as I mentioned to you earlier. Mochi-san will do as she wishes and is very strong willed,” Serizawa apologized and tried to cover for Mochi Hana tardiness.
“I am Mochi Hana, and I am happy to see Mitsu-san once again. I had no idea you were involved in all of this. What a pleasant surprise!” Mochi Hana smiled and bowed toward Mitsu.
Mitsu bowed and smiled also, saying, “I was so happy to hear of your involvement when it was mentioned earlier by your Serizawa-san. I was so delighted that I requested we all meet together this evening and celebrate.”
Mochi Hana turned to introduce herself to Horie, who at the moment, had the strangest look on his face. “I am Mochi Hana, and I thank you for your proposition.”
When Mochi Hana looked into Horie’s eyes after bowing and her introduction, she was amazed at what she saw. ‘Who is this man who seems is so familiar to me,’ Mochi Hana thought and began to think upon all the possibilities of them having met somewhere before.
“It is my pleasure to meet such a beautiful woman,” Horie complimented Mochi Hana, but still wore the same suspicious expression on his face.
Yes, the two must have met somewhere before, but where? When? Neither of them wanted to draw suspicion by mentioning the possibility. Not when it could mean finding out that their past meeting had occurred under less desirable circumstances, or situation. It will wait. Tonight was a celebration of sort, and that was the reason the four had come together.
Mitsu quickly noticed Horie’s concern and she sensed that there was meaning behind it all. Not sure if she should mention it to Horie later, she decided to let it go and see what will take place during its own course.
“Let us set aside all formalities from this point on until the celebration is over. Shall we indulge and enjoy ourselves?” Horie suggested removing the suspicious look he had on his face during Mochi Hana's introduction.
“SAKE!” Mochi Hana shouted out loud enough for the others in the surrounding cubicles in the restaurant to hear.
“Calm down,” Serizawa advised Mochi Hana and chuckled.
“This is not the time to be calm Noboru-san,” Mochi Hana replied to Serizawa’s advice. “It is a time to celebrate, isn’t that so, Horie-san?”
Horie began to see who the motivator was between Serizawa and Mochi Hana. Her character impressed Horie and he watched her closely, convinced that they had met before. “My sentiments, exactly, Mochi Hana-san.” Horie grinned with a sparkle in his eye.
In the mean time, just outside of the restaurant, Cho struck the dust off his hands from tying the horses. He realized he had some time to kill since his bosses were occupied celebrating the merger. Cho decided to walk over to an outdoor vendor that was selling soba and sake. Cho took a seat.
“What’ll it be, sir?” The vendor, an elderly gentleman who seemed to have survived a lot in his time, spoke up and acknowledged Cho’s arrival as he stirred the steaming broth in front of him him.
“An order of soba and a bottle of sake will do for starters old man, “ Cho said as he sniffed the air taking in the heart warming aroma of the broth. “Sure reminds me of what my sweet ole’ mama used to make when I was just a small fry. Mmm that makes my belly juices jump up and do the squirts!”
The old vendor chuckled and bragged a bit. “I learned this recipe from my grandmother when living in Kyoto. Yes, those were the good days back then.”
“Yesiree, I heard your accent right off,” said Cho. “I always do appreciate good conversations with folk from my home town! Dang it’s good to meet you! My name’s Cho,” he added.
“Hah!” The old vendor bowed, sat a big bowl of soba topped with the steaming broth in front of Cho and sat with Cho for a visit, since there weren’t any other customers at the old man’s vending site for the moment.
They both reminisced about the good old days in Kyoto and both of them got excited over having things in common along the way. The evening was turning out to be a good one for Cho. It had been awhile since he was able to walk down memory lane with anyone verbally. Cho also enjoyed his favorite childhood meal and felt right at home with the old man.

“Done,” Saitou said to himself as poured out the excess water from the bin he had done the laundry in. The blood that soaked through Sano’s gi from his wound was removed and life would carry on as usual for Saitou and Sano as soon as Sano recovered.
Saitou leaned back against the back porch’s wall of his home and took time for a cigarette. He left Sano fast asleep in the bedroom while he finished off his domestic chores. Saitou never had a problem doing work around the house. As a matter of fact, he used to pass the time doing little projects around the house and garden when he was married with no complaints. The fact was, Saitou had always been content with whatever he chose to occupy his time. Being idle for too long was what the wolf couldn't handle very well.
He blew out a thin line of smoke past his lips. He had a distinctive smile on his face as he took in the sight of Sano’s gi hanging on the laundry line. Indeed, the fondness Saitou felt for Sano had grown and at that point in Saitou’s life, he could honestly admit to being happy.
“There you are,” Sano said as he held onto his rib and joined Saitou out on the back porch. “I’m feeling a lot better now that all the shit the doctor gave me cleared my system.” Sano chuckled and added, “I’m sure it was the medicine that you contributed which did the trick for me though.” Sano looked over at Saitou and bounced his eyebrows up and down a few times.”
“You must have had a lot of practice with flirting Sanosuke, you do it quite well,” Saitou smirked being amused by Sano’s gestures.
Sano stood there and shrugged his shoulders innocently…“Never with a guy… and never someone I thought I hated either.”
“Hmmm, are you saying that I’m your first? How interesting.” Saitou sent the butt of his cigarette sailing off to the side and looked over at Sano, but Sano remained silent and in thought. “Hmn, look at you clamming up now.”
“Huh? Don’t you want to know anything about me? My past? It drives me nuts sometimes, to have to guess about your past. I know I told you that what you did in the past wouldn’t change the way I feel about you now, in the present. But…I want to know all about you, the more the better.”
“Well, I believe that I will know as much as you tell me,” Saitou said as he placed his hand on Sano’s shoulder and gave it a friendly squeeze. “I’ve come to realize that it is better to let go of the past than to bag it along with you through life. It is entertaining to remember things when you choose to recall them, but my past rarely gave me much reasons to collect memories worth keeping.”
Sano took in a deep breath and slowly sighed. “I do remember, the night before Souzou Sagara, the captain of the SeikihouTai was killed by the imperialist political party. He was the first man I ever looked up to. The night before he died he and I were alone together. We were talking about simple things, but I remember that night vividly. I wanted to throw my arms around him and ask him to always keep me with him. I looked up to him and wanted to be just like him. But I didn’t say anything… I let the opportunity to tell him how I felt for him pass, and I never had another chance to tell him after that, because he was killed the very next day.”
Saitou lowered his head and looked at Sano through the sides of his eyes and guessed, “Maybe you had a crush on him but didn’t know it, or perhaps you simply admired him. Nevertheless, from what I heard, he was a good man and it is too bad that the politics of war claimed him.”
“Well, when I saw you fall to your death in Kyoto, I thought I had lost another chance. I wanted to tell you how much I admired you!” Sano exclaimed. I had it all planned in my mind to tell you so I looked for you in Kyoto, but instead, I got caught up in your undercover work to bring down Shishio and never found the chance to tell you. Then, the way things happened after that, I thought it was too late.”
Sano’s eyes glazed over as he choked down the tears. Thinking back on the time he thought he lost Saitou to death was traumatic for him, indeed. Sano looked over at the strong, wise wolf that seemed to be absorbing much of what Sano was telling him. He admired the distinct lines and shadows on Saitou’s face and was reminded of the many shadows that are in the wolf’s life that made Saitou so mysterious.
Sano walked up to Saitou, leaned into him, and embraced Saitou around his neck and shoulders. “Saitou?” Sano whispered as he relaxed his eyelids but still held Saitou in his focus.
“Sanosuke?” Saitou whispered back, and at the same time he lowered his head to place his lips directly on Sano’s mouth. Saitou’s arms find a way around Sano to gently cradle him being careful not to brush up against his wounded side.

Cho rubbed his full belly. “Thank you *ojisan, and may I add, that your soba is the best I had in Tokyo so far! You can bet your last noodle I’ll be back for more in the soon to come future!”
The old vendor chuckled, bowed and turned to tend to the other customers who came in soon after Cho started to eat his meal.
“Damn this shoe!” Cho spat out as he squatted down to fix his broken zouri. “Why does this have to happen when my belly is as full and sticking out in front of me as it is? Hell!”
As Cho struggles with his zouri, he heard the old man cry out. Cho dropped everything and turned to see two men running out from where he had just left moments ago.
“What the…” Cho raced to the vendor as the old man staggered out to the roadside, blood covering the front of his kimono. Cho caught the old man just before he fell to the ground, so Cho leaned the old man against the vending stall. “Ojisan, what the hell happened?” Cho shouted, urgently.
The old man embraced his chest and with his other hand he pointed to the direction the two men fled. “They robbed me!” The old man exclaimed as he tried to speak at the same time he wiped the blood from his lips.
“I’ll be right back,” Cho reassured the man and headed out running in the direction he had seen the two men running.
Down the roadway, across the alley…there, near a small bridge. Cho saw the two men and slowed his gait. The men saw him coming and stood shoulder to shoulder.
“You the two shit-heads cut up the nice ole ojisan back there?” Cho asked expecting an answer from one, or the both of them.
“What is it to you?” One of the men questioned Cho in return.
“Well you see…” Cho set his hands on either side of his hips to make sure they knew he meant business. “I just met the man, but I sure liked him a lot. And it PISSES me off when shameless folk like yourselves go around taking hard earned money from people like that.”
The two men started to laugh, thinking that Cho was some kind of crazy person to approach two men who were obviously armed. One of the men reached in his kimono sleeve and produced a sack of money before him and held it out to Cho.
“You mean this money?” The bigger man tossed the sack of coins to his partner in crime. “You have to come and get it if you want to give it back to the old man.”
“Oh, I see…” Cho paused… “Well, I don’t see that to be much of a task at all.”
Instantly, Cho pulled his wakizashi out from behind his back and held it securely in his right hand, and then he produced a tantou in his left hand. “That ojisan needs the money more than you two assholes, and I’ll make sure you pay extra for the inconvenience!”
The smaller man looked at the bigger one and shrugged his shoulders and showed forth his wakizashi. The bigger man did the same. They both stood there ready for any advances Cho attempted.
“We already have the money spoken for and you won't get in the way of our opium!” The big man stepped forward to show his determination.
Cho relaxed for a moment and brought his weapons to his side. “Is this what your robbing people is all about? You’re fools to think you’ll get away with any of it! If someone like me don’t come along and kill you, the very people who you’re buying that shit from have already claimed your pathetic, stupid lives and the opium will eventually kill you!”
Cho shook his head taking pity on the two waste cases. Suddenly, without any indication, Cho lunged forward with the wakizashi leading the way. He struck at the larger man, but was blocked by the man’s sword. Cho used his strength, pushed forward against the man’s steel with his own and at the same time, he brought his double dragon tantou up, thrusting it into the man’s abdomen. When Cho felt the man’s hot blood pouring out onto his hand and saw the look of disbelief on the man’s face, he knew then that he hit his mark.
The sound of flesh being sliced along with the splatter of blood that dripped from Cho’s hand disrupted the other man’s focus, and Cho took advantage of the smaller man’s preoccupation. Cho quickly retracted his tantou from the larger man’s flesh, turned and swung his wakizashi, directing its momentum directly across and through the man’s arm, cutting it away from his body. The shiny blade followed through and embedded itself deeply into the man’s upper torso.
Cho looked into the terrified man’s eyes and said, “Consider this a favor—you’re finally at your misery’s end.”
Cho struggled a little to remove the blade that he just wedged into the man’s spine splitting his ribcage and penetrating through the man’s lungs. The man, in shock, stood there still alive. He obviously didn't comprehend what had just taken place between Cho and himself, but he did realize that the battle was over and he won't be walking away a winner. When his body finally made contact with the cold ground, his last thought was the realization that he wasn't going to walk away at all. This was the end of his life’s path.
Cho removed the moneybag from the man that carried it in his possession. He shook the blood off of his wakizashi’s blade with a snap of his wrist, sheathed it behind him and walked off. A crowd had already collected and as Cho left the scene he said, “This is opium’s dead end, folks!”
Through the alley and up roadway Cho trotted, hoping that the ojisan would be there, waiting for his return. When the little vending stand came into view, Cho was relieved to see a few people standing around the ojisan tending to his wound.
“Before you ask, Cho-san...” the old vendor said as he smiled up at the arriving young man with the outstanding hair. “I am a survivor and will be back at dishing out soba and sake as soon as I rest up a bit.”
Cho saw right away that the old man had been through a lot of close calls to have an attitude that he was exhibiting right then. Cho knelt down next to him and handed the vendor the sack of money.
“Here you go ojisan, you have your money back and then some!” Cho smiled widely and nodded and then said, “Heck, you probably can afford to take some time off and get a good start on healing up, because I got you some compensation to boot!”
The old man’s jaw dropped… He was speechless and only able to mutter incoherently. Then, after a few attempts, he finally made sense. “Arigatou gosaimasu! This has saved my life! Arigatou!”
“Awww heck, ojisan… don’t you mention it. It was my pleasure getting rid of scum like that. They won’t be taking advantage of people like you anymore,” Cho said and reached over to his broken zouri and held it up in front of the ojisan.
“Japan has faced some tough times in the past, but just like this zouri, it can be fixed. That’s a job for people like us, ojisan. But we must dispose of the broken, good for nothing pieces that are still lingering.”
Cho ripped the broken part of his zouri and tossed it to the side, reached in his sleeve and took out a piece of cloth. As he'd done so many times before, he tore a piece of cloth and and attached it to this zouri. “Only then can we build a new Japan.” Cho tossed the fixed zouri on the ground, stood up and placed his foot into it. “After we fix Japan… we’ll be able to walk again and feel protected.”
“Hah!” The old man nodded impressed with the young man’s wisdom.
“See you later ojisan. It has been an interesting evening, if I do say so myself, Cho bids the old man good luck and bows.”
“Shit,” Cho grunted out loud as he walked back to the carriage at the restaurant. “I sure hope the big Horie chief is still occupied and doesn’t find out about my run in with those punks.”
Indeed, Horie and the rest of the newly merged group were having a grand time. The two couples hit it off straight from the beginning, and the longer the celebration went on, the more they enjoyed. Of course dropping their guard and sake helped contribute to their good time.
Mochi Hana raised her arm high above her head and held her sake cup. “A toast!” She announced.
Mitsu giggled and said, “Is this our eight or ninth toast?”
Feeling the sake like everyone else, Horie leaned forward, picked up his sake cup and chuckled out, “It is the tenth toast, but who is counting?”
Mochi Hana laughed hysterically and raised her glass for the tenth time. “In honor of honor! May we all get rich honorably, and may we try not to kill each other in the meantime!”
Everyone suddenly became silent. Then altogether, much like a flood that breaks through a dam, they all laughed uncontrollably. It did look promising for the new group. Both Horie, and Serizawa, believed that they were headed for great success.

“Hmn, this will have to do until tomorrow when Dr. Gensai gives you the once over,” Saitou said as he tied the last piece of cloth that covered the wound. “No redness in the area, it’s coming along just fine.”
Sano absorbed the attention he was getting from the wolf and didn't want to think about having it end, at least not yet. He was just starting to get his strength back and he was also beginning to recognize his normal, familiar urges. Better still, Sano wasn't feeling so drained and sore by the slightest move.
“I have an urge, Saitou,” said Sano, in a ’matter of fact’ way.
Saitou cocked his head to the side and narrowed his eyes to see what Sano was up to now. “Well Ahou, you can go outside to relieve yourself as you normally would do, if that is what you are referring to.”
“Come on Saitou, you know that is not the kind of urge I’m talking about.” Sano never understood why Saitou liked playing ‘hard to get’. What fun can that be anyway? Sano wondered. “Saitou, I’m feeling better, my strength is back and… well…”
“Well… what about your injured side?” Saitou completed the sentence for Sano.
Sano frowned drawing his eyebrows together. “Well… I took the shot ‘front-side’, not ‘backside’,” Sano reminded Saitou hoping that the wolf could be persuaded.
Saitou grinned, his eye narrowed even more, and with a quick head-jerk nod to the side, he motioned Sano to step up closer.
Sano quickly complied and took a few steps forward until he stood directly before Saitou.
“Hmmm, since you are injured on your front side, perhaps if you turn around and lean your backside against me?” Saitou smiled in his cunningness.
Sano turned his back toward Saitou, leaned into him and gyrated his hip very slowly against Saitou’s loin. “Like this, Saitou?” Sano asked wanting to please the wolf and encourage Saitou to participate in the sensual play.
Saitou placed his hands around Sano’s waist and pulled Sano closer and harder against Saitou. “Hmmm, yes,” Saitou answered Sano’s question. “Just like that Sanosuke.”
Saitou moved his lips against Sano’s neck and pulled some of Sano’s skin in between his teeth by the suction of his mouth. Saitou exhaled hotly and ran his tongue along the area he’d just nipped and then took more of Sano’s neck between his teeth and bit down again.
Sano pushes back harder against Saitou and leaned his head back against the wolf’s broad shoulder. “Mmm, I can feel you behind me, Saitou… I feel you up against my ass cheeks,” Sano moaned.
“Hmn,” Saitou ran his cheek against the side of Sano’s face.” That is about all you will feel if you want to keep standing out here on the back porch.”
“You mean if we go inside the house, you’ll let me feel more of you?” Sano asked teasingly.
“Haaah,” Saitou breathed out to express his affirmativeness. “I’ll let you feel more of me ‘inside’ of you as well,” Saitou was whispering into Sano’s ear while taking Sano’s earlobe between his teeth. He slid his tongue along its edge and began sucking the folded edges along his ear's rim.
Sano’s breathing quickened as Saitou reached his right hand past Sano’s waist and hip to rests atop of Sano heated, eager organ. Saitou’s fingers took hold of Sano firmly and squeezed. He made sure Sano understood Saitou’s unspoken message.
“Okay, okay… you don’t have to break my ‘leg’, I’m going!” Sano reluctantly pulled away from Saitou’s embrace, adjusted himself and his lower gi before he walked to the door to the house.
Saitou followed behind Sano and made the same adjustments to himself as well.
Sano headed for the bedroom, but Saitou stopped him abruptly from behind and took Sano up in his arms just like they were out on the porch, only this time, Saitou wasn't leaning up against the wall. Instead, Saitou stood erect behind Sano and quickly slid both of his hands into the front of Sano’s gi.
“Man! Saitou! You just can’t wait until we get to the bedroom, can you?” Sano asked playfully in surprise feeling how Saitou already had a firm grip around Sano’s expanded lower bulk.
Saitou breathed quick and anxiously which could have been mistaken as a shallow pant. “I can’t take you on the bed, Ahou… Have you forgotten about your injury?”
“Oh yeah, moaned Sano…yeah, you’re right.” Now Sano’s breathing turned harder and rapid. “Then…” Sano puffed, “...then how do you want me?”
Saitou removed his hands from Sano’s lower gi and kept Sano’s back against him. Saitou pushed Sano toward the side of the backroom wall where the sake cabinet stood, and untied the support cord that kept Sano’s gi from falling.
“I want you this way,” Saitou once again, bit down on Sano’s shoulder.
Sano jerked his head back and gasp deeply, filling his lungs with air. He was surprised that his rib didn’t hurt this time, or maybe it did, but his focus was firmly fixed on what Saitou was doing to him and the pleasure he was feeling overshadowed the pain of his injury.
After Sano's gi bottom fell to the floor, Saitou returned to secure his grasp up front, on Sano’s eagerness. He firmly held Sano’s erection in his right hand and his accompanying ‘reserves’ in his left hand. Saitou began to work on the young man. At the same time, Sano felt Saitou’s erection pressing against his buttocks through Saitou’s kimono. Sano positioned his buttocks to embrace the sides of Saitou’s manhood between his firm round ass muscles.
Saitou read Sano’s desire... Saitou parted the front of his kimono to appease Sano. With no difficulty at all, Saitou slid his fundoshi to the side, like drawing the curtains back to reveal the sunlight. Saitou’s ready flesh was released to make contact with Sano’s smooth backside.
“Mmm yeah, now I can feel more of you,” Sano moaned again. “And I like the way you feel… No. I LOVE the way you feel.”
Saitou started rubbing on Sano’s rear’s cleavage with his exposed erect flesh, while at the same time, continued to work on Sano’s love handle. Like kelp swaying through the currents of the oceans, the two men swayed in their flow of passion, both were being carried away by waves of pleasure that touch and laid hold of the deepest part of them. Wave after wave of glorious sensations swept over them, combining their very beings as one, in their ritual and mutual love for each other.
“SAITOU!”
Saitou’s right arm now held Sano across the upper part across Sano’s chest, still being aware to avoid his injured rib, and pulled Sano against himself.
“SAITOU!”
Saitou’s right hand steadily worked Sano into a frenzied climax, which buckled Sano forward at the waist as he tried to catch his breath that escaped him the split second his climax reached the threshold. Saitou felt Sano’s stalled breath just seconds before a burst of heated liquid splashes against his palm.
Sano threw his open hands against the sake cabinet to catch himself. He gasped to replace the breath that had been ripped from his chest, but his focus was still swimming through all the incredible sensations surrounding him.
Saitou held Sano’s precious love offering in his hand and carefully pulled his hand away from Sano’s depleted dispenser. Careful not to spill any of it, he held his filled, lubricated fist up against Sano’s rear entry and guided his ridged member through his wet fist and very slowly through Sano’s doorway to the familiar ecstatic world he found himself every time he and Sano shared in this way together.
Sano, more than happy to return the favor, received Saitou without any resistance and welcomed the wolf by pushing back to meet him. The sound of Sano’s spilled liquid being forced from between Saitou’s fingers as Saitou pushed his straining and swollen member through to lubricate it prompted Saitou to the next level. Everything else seemed to disappear for Saitou, except he and his male lover.
Saitou now lost himself inside of Sano. His mind wandered through the many roads he had traveled in his time, the many people he met, got to know, and lost. The heartache of loving and losing the women in his life, through separation and even through death, it all seems so far and distant.
Then suddenly only Sano was visible, in his mind’s eye. Saitou visualized Sano’s form before him, just like he had imagined Sano so many times before when he arrived at this point. Saitou had given himself away to Sano many times in his mind since Kyoto, but now, it was a reality that gripped every part of Saitou. And just like those many times in his mind, Saitou called out Sano’s name. Only this time it was a part of reality and not just imagined. This time… Sano heard the wolf's howl.
“SANOSUKE!”
Saitou pushed forward as far into Sano as he could possibly get himself and by doing so gave Sano a token for the gift Sano had given Saitou earlier.
Sano already braced himself as he realized Saitou’s arrival. “I got you Saitou…” Sano reassured Saitou, “…come to me now Lover!”
“SANOSUKE!” Once again, Saitou obliged and spilled forth into Sano. It was Saitou’s turn to bend from the waist in pleasurable agony as Saitou expelled all that was within him into Sano.
Quickly Saitou tried to slow his breathing down and asked Sano, “Are you alright?” Thinking that perhaps he had gotten a little too rough during his climax for Sano’s condition.
Still bent over with Saitou attached, Sano answered, “I’m better than alright!” Sano chuckled and then asked, “Since I’m bent here at the sake cabinet, do you want to drink some of it?”
“Ahou,” Saitou said as he pushed Sano from him to break the tie. “I’ll go heat some bath water… just bring the sake.”
