Chapter Twenty-Four:
September 26, 2017:
Train Ride To Hell:
4:00 AM:
It was about four in the morning. Shiro and the girls went to the Cristale city bulletin train two days after lying low. They had planned to take the train straight to the airport. And book a plane heading straight to England. Luckily, thanks to Cassandra's contacts, They were able to secure the tickets without having to go through security hassles. All they had to do was make it to their flight.
"1,"
"2,"
"3..." Alyssa counted. She sat at a table next to Shiro, reading the newspaper. He was wearing sunglasses and a straw hat. Since Shiro was a wanted man, he had to obscure his face the best he could. The girls didn't need a disguise. With their exotic look, they easily passed as foreigners. Alyssa adjusted her glasses, scanning the surroundings and the cops around them. "There's maybe five, maybe... six in total."
"There's also the two on my nine-o'clock position," Shiro grunted. "That's eight."
Alyssa leaned back and glanced at her left. Indeed, two more cops were coming from behind Shiro. She twirled her drink glass and drinks as the cops passed them, ignoring the couple.
"It's almost a platoon."
"They must be spread thin across the city looking for us. Of course, they'll send the most to the local traveling station, so they can keep us within the city limit." Shiro commented.
"I wonder if Cassandra and Christina made it past the guards," Alyssa asked.
"Who knows," Shiro said with a stern expression. "We'll have to trust in their capabilities. We'll move once they give the signal."
Alyssa sighed and gave Shiro a longing gaze. Shiro looked up from his newspaper that he wasn't reading and noticed her staring.
"What's wrong?"
"How are you so confident after all that's happened? It's because of us that you're a wanted criminal." Alyssa wanted to know. "Why don't you hate us, scorn us, resent us? How are you so kind after everything we've done?"
"…You think I'm kind?" Shiro asked. He leaned forward, resting his chin on the ground palm of his hand. "And what if I'm willing to betray you right now? I could be another Lex and just up and abandon you to the cops?"
"You risked your own life to save Cassandra," Alyssa stated. "I don't think Lex would have ever done that on his own without demanding some form of compensation in return." Alyssa found herself flustered under Shiro's, staring at her, "Anyway," She coughed. "I think you're a good person. That's all I'm trying to say."
"…Is that so?" Shiro said, amused. At what felt like ages, he smiled. "Thank you, then I'll be sure to live up to your expectations, Alyssa-senpai~!"
She averted her gaze, embarrassed to have eye contact with him. She blinked when she recalled something he said.
"You keep referring to me as Senpai? What does that word mean exactly?"
"In a way, it is a formal sign of respect between upperclassmen and underclassmen," Shiro explained.
"Oh," Alyssa nodded.
"Since you're older than me and a Senior at our school. You're the Senpai," Shiro pointed at her, then at himself. "And I'm the Kohai, the Junior of this relationship."
"So, should I refer to you as Shiro-kohai?" Alyssa asked.
"Ew, gross!" Shiro gagged. "Please don't call me that. I was only teasing you!"
"Eh!?" Alyssa fell off her chair. Baffled by Shiro's complete one-eighty reaction.
Shiro laughed at her reaction. Alyssa was really fun to tease, and not to mention charming. She was quite the eye-catcher. Christina, as well, admittedly. And Cassandra took his breath away every time he glanced in her direction. Shiro leaned back and sighed.
He still couldn't believe she confessed like that out of the blue. He has a lot to think over. Did he honestly want to be in a relationship? He had never thought about settling down with a girl before. Then there's also the factor of exposing her to dangerous Caleo Aradeo. Not to mention, there are assassins after him and Cassandra. Chao and Cassandra's ex-boyfriend Lex is also trying to kill them. If only he were stronger, he needed a way to obtain strength super fast, like a quick burst to defeat his opponent in a single attack.
"A quick burst…?" Shiro muttered. "Humm, could I make that work?"
[Shiro, can you hear me? Are you there?]
Shiro snapped out of thoughts and replied into his earpiece. "Is that you, Puck? How is it on your end?"
[We made it inside the train; it should be safe for you to board. Most of the security seems to be on the outside.] Puck replied
"That's great news! Okay, we'll meet you inside in a few minutes." Shiro turned off his earpiece and stood up. "Alyssa, you ready?"
"Yes!" She smiled and followed after him. When they got on board the train, She linked arms with Shiro. He raised an eyebrow but made no comment on it. He had to be natural.
"Boarding pass?"
Once they reached the doors, an officer stopped the pair. Shiro showed him their VIP pass. The officer raised an eyebrow and nodded.
"I'm sorry, you'll have to show me your face for identification."
"Oh, come on!" Shiro fumed. "I paid good money to get the VIP treatment! Why am I being suspected!?"
"I'm sorry, sir!" The officer panicked. "There's a wanted criminal. We're just making sure he's not among the passengers!"
They were referring to him, of course. Damn that, Johnathan! Shiro narrowed his eyes at the officer.
"And if I don't compile, you'll treat me as a criminal anyway," Shiro added.
"No, sir, that's not how we operate!" The officer lied. Shiro knew that.
"Listen here, I have a chronic condition. I can't see colors very well without these glasses. They help me see better." Shiro motioned to his hat. "And I'll burn without this hat, you see. My skin is weak in the sun, kinda like a vampire. That's why my girl has a bag full of screen lotion."
"I'm your what!?" Alyssa blushed red and stuttered when the officer looked her way. "E-erm, I mean yes! He's very weak to the sun."
"I see," The officer nodded. "I'm sorry to hear that, Sir. But what does that have to do with me checking your identity?"
Alyssa and Shiro stared blankly at each other, then back at the officer, who stared blankly at them.
"..."
"..."
"..."
Well shit! He made a good point!
"Move out of the way! I'm gonna be late!"
A giant duffle-shaped bag rolled down an escalator, with a man in baggy clothes riding on top of it. He smashed into the officer, crashing both into the train. The man hopped off the bag and sighed.
"Well, that was a trip," the man crouched down and patted the officer. "Hey, you're not dead, are you!?"
"….!" The officer was breathing. Thankfully, he was only unconscious.
"That's a relief," the man stood up and patted the dirt off his clothes. He turned and saw Shiro and Alyssa staring, baffled at him. "….Who the hell are you?"
"That should be my line!" Shiro exclaimed.
"Me? Hmmm?" The man looked around for the station number. "Great! This is my stop as well! Let's go! You don't want to be captured by the police, right?"
Shiro glanced to the right. The other officers were calling for the back. The mysterious man, right? Shiro cursed.
"Fine, let's go." Shiro tugged Alyssa, and she followed wordlessly behind him.
Shiro and Alyssa followed the strange man to the back of the bullet train. They arrived at a storage compartment. And the strange man sat on his huge duffel bag.
"I told you we're sitting in the VIP area. We went in the complete opposite direction!" Shiro ranted.
"Well, that's stupid of you! Why didn't you just say that earlier?" The man questioned.
"I did!" Shiro huffed. "Now answer my question, how the hell is you!?"
"Oh yeah, Guess I did kinda forget to introduce myself. My name is Gin. Nice to Meet Ya!" Gin laughed.
"Likewise," Shiro spoke dryly.
"Man, the security here is tight," Gin said. "They wanted to check all of my belongings. I mean, have you seen how much I'm carrying. I would've been stuck there forever. So I just said 'fuck it,' and ran out before I could miss my train."
"Why didn't you just pack the essentials?" Alyssa asked.
"These are my essentials." Gin patted his bag. "Had to pack all the useless junk I could find. I heard the target I'm trying to kill is super strong."
"Y-Your target?" Alyssa stuttered.
"Some chick named Cassandra Waterson and a guy named Mashiro Yuuma."
Shiro grew pale. 'I'm a target as well!'
Alyss tugged his sleeves and gently snapped him out of his thoughts. He gripped her hand and spun around.
"Ah, well, good luck with that endeavor." Shiro waved. "We'll just be on our way."
"Now, just one moment!"
Shiro froze as he couldn't turn the doorknob… it was locked from the other side. Gin hopped off his bag and walked over to the couple.
"Since you asked my name, it's only fair you give me yours." Gin gleefully smiled.
'Ah… crap basket!' Shiro could feel the train moving as passengers' bags shifted around.
He sweated as there was no air in the room.
"My name is Yashiro Ashiya." Shiro lied.
"And I'm Alyssa Newman." Alyssa bows. "Nice to meet you."
"Likewise," Gin smiled. He took out a steel ball and tossed it up and down. He nodded. "You think I'm an idiot!"
Gin chucks the ball at the unsuspecting couple. Shiro moved Alyssa out of the way as the ball bounced off the door, bouncing all over the room like a rubber ball.
'What power!' Shiro thought. 'He's also a Magic-user.'
"You can lie all you want," Gin points to them. "But there's not many left that has Magic flowing within them. You're Mashiro Yuuma. Then that makes you Cassandra Waterson. Both of my targets are in the same place. How lucky I am!?"
"What!?" Alyssa gasped, "I'm not-"
"Look out!"
Gin threw another ball at them. Shiro pulled Alyssa behind cover as both steal balls bounced all over the room.
"No excuse!" Gin grins, "Now roll over and die!"
"I don't think the guy will listen to reason, Alyssa," Shiro said.
"He's an idiot! He's wrecking everyone's belongings- Eeep!" Alyssa ducked as the steel ball nearly sniped her head off!
"Careful, Mages are quite stubborn," Shiro sat up. "Looks like the only way out is to fight, after all. Stay behind cover, okay."
Alyssa grabbed Shiro's hand. And gazed him in the eye with concern. "Be Careful, okay."
"No worries," Shiro gave her thumbs up and smiled. "Will be in Mundus in no time. Just you wait, okay."
Shiro hopped over the luggage that provided them cover and came face to face with Gin.
"Finally decided to stop hiding?" Gin questions, holding up another steel ball.
"Yeah," Shiro cracked his knuckles. "You seem like a chilled guy but ain't going easy on you cause you're nice."
"I wouldn't have it any other way!" Gin roared as Shiro appeared next to him and kicked his arms, and Gin dropped the ball in his hands. "What!"
Shiro grabbed Gin by the neck collar and threw him over his shoulders towards another luggage set.
"No way, that was Aikido!" Alyssa explained. "Japanese Martial Arts!"
"I thought it would be a fancy learning style since it relies largely on self-defense," Shiro explained. "I won't always have Magic to save me in a pinch."
"Don't you have any pride as a Mage?!" Gin sat up. "The hell, dude! Relying on other cultures' techniques is cheating!"
'….This guy is a moron!' Alyssa and Shiro thought as they stared at him with a deadpan expression.
"I don't wanna hear about pride coming from an assassin!" Shiro snapped back. "This isn't a game. I'm fighting to live!"
"Oh yeah," Gin wolfishly blinked. "Woops, I totally forgot I was trying to kill you! My bad, hehe!"
"Oh geez!" Shiro groans into his hands. 'It's too early in the morning to deal with an idiot!'
"Let's take this up a notch," Gin picked up another steel ball. "My Magic bounce allows me to turn any inanimate objects into rubber."
'…Rubber?' Shiro sweatdropped. Don't misunderstand. Rubber doesn't exactly invoke a threatening presence. But under Mage's power, you never quite know what to expect.
"…For example." Gin threw the second ball that Shiro easily dodged. But he noticed the balls were now ricocheting off the walls.
"So you have more ammo, big deal! All I gotta do is keep moving and kick your ass!" Shiro exclaimed. Shiro kept dodging the balls left and right with relative ease. 'These objects aren't hard to dodge. Why would he give away his Magic so easily?'
"I wouldn't underestimate rubber. It always bounces back twice as hard." Gin states as Shiro dodges the steel balls.
"We'll see about that!" Shiro dodged another ball and started charging straight at Gin, only to be stuck in the back by a steel ball. "Grk!"
"Shiro!" Alyssa yelled.
"Stay back!" Shiro ordered. He tossed his phone to Alyssa, "Contact the others! Tell them we might be stuck here for a while."
"I wonder how long it will take before help arrives." Gin laughed.
"That was a lucky shot," Shiro spat blood. "Don't get your hopes up. "I'll kick your ass before they arrive!"
"Then show me what you're made of!" Gin fell into his fighting stance, and Shiro fell into his…
Both fighters stared hard at each other before running with their fist raised.. and clashing.
"…You know, Lass, pacing back and forth doesn't really calm the nerves."
"But they should have contacted us a long time ago!" Cassandra snapped back at Puck. "And started moving so I could get off at the airport!"
Sitting in his seat, Puck leaned back, and Rose, his hand surrendering. "Maybe they're just taking a piss."
"For thirty minutes!?" Cassandra's eyes narrowed. "Alyssa would've contacted me."
Suddenly, the door to their compartment opened, and Christina walked in with some drinks.
"Ms. Cassandra, I've brought refreshments as you asked for," Christina bowed and passed drinks around. "How are the others? Are those two still not back yet?"
"Thank you, Christina," Cassandra drank her coke. "And no, they're not. I've been trying to reach Shiro, but he's not picking up."
"What about Alyssa?"
"It went straight to the out-of-service line," Cassandra said worriedly. "And that can only happen if you're out of the country, which we're not yet. Or her phone was damaged."
"…That's concerning," Christina replied though nonchalantly.
"Yes, very," Cassandra nodded. Just then, her phone went off…it was Shiro, and she answered immediately. "Finally, I was worried you guys were lost."
"Shiro is fighting another assassin!" Alyssa screeched over the phone.
"Alyssa!?" Cassandra winced at her high-pitched tone. "Why do you have Shiro's phone?"
"Shiro tossed me his and told me to contact help," Alyssa explained. "My phone was smashed by the assassin."
"Where are you?"
"Locked in the storage room near the very back of the train." Alyssa glanced back to fight behind her. Shiro was covered in scratches and bruises. He was putting up a fight. But Gin was really strong. "Shiro isn't faring too well in this closed-off space."
"Hang on a bit longer. We'll be over as soon as we can." Cassandra hung up and stood from her seat. And opened her cabin door. "Let's go!"
"…We can't," Christina simply replies.
Cassandra turned, looking angry at her friend with crossed arms.
"And tell me why not?"
"Each section of the train is closed off, and only the attendant can unlock the door," Christina explained. "I could only get beverages because the train had yet to move. Now that the train is in motion, I doubt we would be let in the storage even if we ask."
"So they're stuck until we reach the Airport!?"
"I'm afraid so." Christina nodded.
"I doubt the kid would kick the bucket from one measly assassin," Puck scoffed. "Give him some credit. Shiro is tougher than he looks."
"...Maybe," Cassandra muttered unconvincingly.
"HHhhaaaa!"
Shiro and Gin slugged each other in the face. Shiro slammed his knee on Gin's chin, grunting in pain, causing Gin to cough blood. Shiro used the opportunity to slug Gin several times before Gin grabbed his shirt and head slammed into the face. Both fighters groaned in pain, rubbing their faces.
"Well, I can certainly see why Chao had a tough time. I certainly didn't expect you to be this durable." Gin rubbed his neck.
"You're pretty tough, too," Shiro spat some blood. "Chao was more sneaky with his Shadow Magic; he was more challenging to beat.
"I know, right!" Gin exclaimed. "I kept challenging him, but all he did was run away. How can you enjoy a good fight with styles like that? It's so annoying."
"…I can't say I share that sentiment," Shiro spoke dryly. "Especially since most of my opponents usually try to kill me."
"Hehe, Where is the fun in life without risk?" Gin laughed and turned serious. "Listen up, the future is all about making choices. These choices involve taking risks. You already made your choices when you involved yourself with Cassandra Waterson."
"…!" Shiro stood in silence at hearing her name.
"You can't create a future without taking risks, then you might as well be dead weight!" Gin threw another steel ball at Shiro and narrowly dodged.
It was already hard to move with three balls. Now Shiro had to keep an eye out on four. Shiro sweated and breathed heavily.
'The path might seem random, but once he throws a ball, there's a pattern where they end up landing.' Shiro thought. 'Think and observe. Watch closely at the movement.'
Shiro hopped and dodged an incoming ball and landed a safe distance away.
'This should be a safe zone-Grk!' Shiro is baffled when a steel ball suddenly appears beneath him and smashes into his face. 'Impossible, it changed its trajectory mid-path?!'
"Shiro!" Alyssa cried out.
"I said stay back!" He snapped back at her. And puts his hands up in a fighting stance. "It's not over until I kick his ass!
"What tenacity!" Gin grinned madly. "I acknowledge your manliness!"
Gin crosses his arms and reveals several tiny steel balls between each finger.
"But that effort is meaningless unless you can defeat me!" Gin flung the balls in random directions. "Dance and Bounce, bullet storm!"
"Raaahhh!"
Shiro punched, kicked, deflected, and dodged every ball close to him. But no matter what he did, each ball managed to slip past his defense and still hit him. Shiro coughed and spat out more blood.
"Yeah! Well, Whatever! I'm still kicking your ass!" Shiro roared while charging at Gin. Ducking and dodging every ball that came after him. 'So far, the only area that isn't affected is where he stands. He would be taking damage from his own attack if it was random. That means it has to be a safe zone.
Shiro raised his fist, ready to strike Gin, much to annoyance. A steel ball shot from Shiro's blind spot. It slid underneath and smashed right into Shiro's stomach.
"Gah!" Shiro gasped for air. 'I knew it! It's not random. It can somehow change the path. I can't get close until I figure out how to counter his Magic.'
Alyssa looked at him, worried. Shiro only chuckled at her concern and smiled.
"Don't worry, I'll protect you no matter what," Shiro promised. Despite his blood appearance, Alyssa bushed and thought his smile made him look handsome.
"I think I figured out how your Magic works." Shiro slipped into a fighting stance. "I'll definitely kick your ass, this time for sure!"
"I guess I should start getting serious," Gin grinned. "Come at me then, show me the future you can create!"
Shiro charged straight at Gin.
"You just don't learn, do you!?" Gin exclaimed. "Being stupid won't help defeat me!"
Shiro dodged an incoming strike from a steel ball and glanced left. If his theory was right, two steel balls should cross paths, and sure enough. He was right on the mark instead of colliding like he thought would happen. The ball that nearly hit Shiro shifted course and sniped toward Shiro.
'So that's what's been happening.'
Shiro smirked as the ball skidded in front of him, and like last time, it attempted to smash into his stomach. But Shiro caught it at the last minute. It rolled into his hands at high friction, trying to escape.
"Oh!" Gin's eyes lit up, "I'm impressed you stopped the attack, but what about the others coming after you?"
A steel ball snipped from Shiro's right side. But instead of dodging. Shiro caught the other ball and winced in pain with the other free hand.
"What!?" Gin exclaimed.
"You can change any inanimate objects into rubber," Shiro explained. "That's how they're able to bounce off walls like rubber, but you can't change the properties of the objects. These steel balls you've been using are magnets. No wonder it can snipe me no matter where I step. Magnets can absorb kinetic energy and repel each other. "But what happens when you have magnets of the same kinetic energy?" Shiro tossed the ball. He just caught up and down. "They attract one another and create a force field."
Gin noticed none of the balls were moving near Shiro. "You used my own Magic against me!"
"Buzz," Shiro smirked. "Wrong! This is nothing but simple Science!"
"Using outside forces rather than Magic is Cheating!"
"And that's where you're wrong again," Shiro stepped towards Gin. "Science is nothing more than the accumulation of knowledge, passed down through trial and error. It's the prime definition of taking risks. Magic be damned, Science levels the playing field for everyone!"
"Counterflow! Vortex shot!" Shiro slammed his foot down and reared his hands back. The steel ball glowed with energy as Shiro reversed the flow, and he threw the steel ball, smashing right into Gin's face and knocking him unconscious. Shiro puffed and panted, exhausted. Standing tall and bloody, he towered over Gin.
"My future is with Science!" Shiro declared as the battle ended. Shiro then fell backward as the other steel balls fell beside him. Alyssa glanced up to see both fighters were on the ground, exhausted. The fighting was over, it seemed.
"Oh, Geeze." She ran up and kneeled beside Shiro, worried for him. She rested his head on her lap. "Look at yourself. You're a wreck."
"I told you, it wouldn't be over till I kicked his ass." Shiro groans in pain.
"I wonder…. is this what Cassandra felt when you fought Chao?" Alyssa felt a poke at her forehead and saw a grinning Shiro.
"Don't worry, I'm glad that you're safe."
Alyssa flustered, remembering his promise to protect her. "What are you saying! I'm no one special like Cassandra. You could've easily let that assassin take my life, and no one would miss me."
Shiro slammed his forehead into her as they lay there, groaning in pain.
"Shiro…Why?"
"You felt that pain?" Shiro asked. "It'll hurt a thousand times worse when you die, though you won't be able to feel it because you're dead. The people closest to you will definitely end up feeling it. Can you bear to see Cassandra and Christina in that much pain?"
"….No," Alyssa admitted. "I don't want to be sad."
"Then there's your answer." Shiro sighed, resting on her lap. "You want them to be happy, so live for them. And me as well. You're an important friend."
"You think I'm important?" Alyssa's face turned red.
"Of course, so I don't ever wanna hear you won't be missed, okay?" Shiro replied. "You're an irreplaceable friend. Don't say you're not important."
"…Shiro." Alyssa gazed down at him with a smile.
"…Yeah?"
"Thank you for saving me."
"No problem." Shiro grinned. "Anytime."
When the train stopped, Cassandra and others went to the storage compartment to meet with Shiro and Alyssa. Opening the door, they saw Gin tied up with a bruised, swollen face. Alyssa looked relatively safe, but Shiro looked like a truck had run over him. Gin looked visibly defeated.
"Fighting was all I'm ever good at. Being an assassin is the only way I can make a decent living." Gin explained. "If I don't win, then I'm worthless."
"So if all you need is a decent job that utilizes your skill. You promise you won't hurt anyone?" Shiro asked.
"I'll do you one better, as long as I can fight. I promise not to kill people ever again." Gin expressed.
Shiro nodded and glanced back at Cassandra, who walked into the room.
"Well then, you're in luck!" Shiro pointed to her. "Your new boss Cassandra will hire you!"
"Huh?" Gin stared blankly at Shiro.
"HUH!?" Cassandra also stared, baffled at Shiro's declaration.
"Huh?" Shiro looked back and forth, confused. "What's wrong? Did I say something weird?"
"Of course you did!" Cassandra hissed. "Why would I hire an assassin that tried to kill you!?"
"Forget about that!" Gin exclaimed and pointed to Alyssa. "You mean to tell me you're not Cassandra! The hell, why didn't you say anything!?"
"That's what you're shocked about!?" Shiro exclaimed.
"I did!" Alyssa explained. "You weren't listening to me at all!"
"And let's not forget. I'm flat broke at the moment!" Cassandra reminds Shiro. "I can barely afford my staff now, let alone you!"
"All the more reason to obtain the ultimate treasure," Shiro shrugged nonchalantly. "Honestly, he doesn't seem like a bad guy to me. Why shouldn't he be given a second chance?"
"He's an assassin!"
"So was Xyaqom at one point. And he became a hero of this town." Shiro scoffed.
"That's…" Cassandra trailed off, "Actually, a very valid point."
"Hehe," Shiro gave a peace sign with a smug grin. Cassandra turned to Alyssa with a questionable look.
"More importantly, he attacked you. How would you feel if I suddenly hired an assassin that tried to murder you?"
"I mean," Alyssa muttered and glanced at Gin. "Shiro is right. He doesn't seem all that bad. I'm sure he wanted me dead. He would've just ended me right where we first met."
"Sorry," Gin lowered his head and muttered.
"Well, that settles that then," Shiro grinned. "As long as he promises not to get in our way. An extra hand in the mansion that doesn't sound too bad."
"I can't win when you sound like that," Cassandra sighed and kneeled down to face Gin; her position gave Shiro a top-down view of her breasts. "Here is my business card and letter of recommendation. Show this to one worker there, and they'll get you started on a job."
"You're too kind, Lady Cassandra!" Gin sat up and saluted. "I promise I won't let you down. You're so much kinder than Lex!"
"I'm sure," Cassandra smiled. "And please thank Shiro, not me. He's the one giving you another chance."
"Yes, Ma'am!" Gin prepared to leave. He turned to Shiro. "You better protect Lady Cassandra, or I'll seriously kill you next time we fight!"
"Yeah, I'll keep her safe, no worries." Shiro's eyes twitched. 'What a pain…I just can't keep up with his shift in personality.'
Sometime later, Shiro and Alyssa finally regroup with Cassandra, Christina, and Puck.
"Bout time," Puck grunts. "You guys are a mess. You two get frisky while you were alone?"
Alyssa was flustered at the thought of getting intimate with Shiro. And Shiro blushed at remembering Alyssa's soft thighs while resting on her lap.
"Fuck off, old man!" Shiro spat. "For your information, I was in another brawl, against an assassin. Get a life already."
"I would already have a life if I wasn't dragged to the country chaperoning a couple of brats."
"…That's a fair point," Shiro grumbled. And sat down, he noticed Christina staring intensely at him. "….What? Is there something on my face?"
"No…" Cristina eyed him up and down. "You saved Alyssa from the Assassin, correct?"
"…Yeah?"
"It's just…your clothes are a mess. But there's no sign of injuries on you. Do you not require any medical attention?"
"Oh yeah," Shiro blinked and looked down at himself. "I guess my wounds did heal on their own. Just like with Chao."
"I saw it," Alyssa chimed in. "His wounds healed right before my eyes. I wasn't quite sure what happened. But he was jumping around like he was full of energy."
"That's amazing," Cassandra spoke up. "Is that one of your abilities, or is that something all Mages can do?"
"…I don't know," Shiro answered bluntly. "I've never actually been seriously hurt before. This stuff is all new to me as well."
"Lady Cassandra, perhaps we can test his Magic by throwing him in front of a train?" Christina asked.
"What crap did I ever do to you!" Shiro exclaimed. "You're either concerned, or you hate my guts! Pick one or the other!"
"Quite you." Christina sneered. "Don't decide my feelings for me."
"Guys, enough," Cassandra stepped in. "Need I remind you that we're still in public."
Shiro and Christina glanced at the crowd of people staring at them and sat down, embarrassed.
"Whatever!" They both huffed.
Much to Shiro's annoyance, Christina glares at him the whole train ride. A shadow figure off in the distance kept tags on the group.
"Looks like Gin failed his task. This Shiro fellow is a lot tougher than he looks."
A dark-skinned woman with exotic red eyes checked in at the station near the airport.
"As expected from a child of Zenrus." She replied and cocked her pistol. "Let's see if he's as tough as his old man."
The shadow peeks up, looks at the woman's skirt, and sees she is wearing dark purple panties, "Would like some backup- Gah!" The woman stopped and shot at the shadow below her feet.
"What the fuck, my eyes!"
"Next time, don't use your Magic to peep at my panties. Or would you like me to shoot your balls off next?" The woman threatened?
"No, ma'am! I'll behave, I promise!"
"You better.." She slammed open the door to the rooftop. The beautiful woman set her Rifle and aimed at the train station. "Give Lex my regards. He won't even make it on the plane to England."
