AN: So, why the post after not having posted a thing in 5 years? Well, you see, I kinda moved and got married, and in all that lovely busyness, I failed to remember I hadn't actually FINISHED this little story. It's too good not to finish! Maybe some of my fans are still around? :(
Jade slipped away from Davis and into the kitchen as soon as he'd fallen asleep, and dressed into her clothing, overcome with a feeling akin to guilt - but the sting was much deeper. Her outfit felt wrong, and she wished, even as tacky as it was, for her clothing from the digital world. Her clothing from the real world suddenly felt fake; like it was not the real skin she was supposed to be in. Jade brushed the surface of the clothing with her palm, as if trying to shove away the sensations."Yeah. I don't belong here - but, I don't know how to change anything. I can't love the evil part of Ken. I can't explain..." she said, walking towards the polar outpost building - the one they kept the lazy elderly bears in.
"You want the stability of Davis, but you don't want Davis himself. You just don't know how to help Ken." Jade nodded. Joe had a way of understanding her mind.
"He thinks the digital world is a virtual game. I don't think he realizes he's actually killing these creatures. In his mind, he's just trying to win a game. But, that's where the twist of his soul comes in. He was infected by dark spores. I need to convince him that the digital world is real; I just don't know how." Joe held the door to the outpost for her. It had it's own computer, and a phone, for signing in and out, and emergencies.
"Leave that to me..." Pijumon piped up, peering up at her from her purse. Jade trusted him enough to know he knew what he was doing. Jade sat at the computer, and started clacking away. After the ancient noises of the dial-up connection linking her to the internet, and a long pause as google slowly loaded her search result, she picked up the phone, and dialed.
"Mrs Ichijouji? This is Jade. I don't know if Ken has mentioned anything, but we've been...uh, seeing eachother, and I said something really stupid. I think I might have offended him. Would I be able to have some time alone with him to make this right? . . . . . . . . Yes, I would be fine with staying behind to meet you. . . . . . .Actually, surprising him would be great! Thanks Mrs Ichijouji! I will be there soon." Jade hung up, and glanced at the clock on the computer. "It's 7:30 am there; he's still asleep. He hasn't gone back to the digital world yet." she explained, catching Joe's confused expression. "Fanpages had his number and address. It's amazing what crazed fans get hold of."
"How are you going to get there? You can't just appear in his bedroom all of a sudden." Joe pointed out.
"My cousin lives a few doors down from them; I can use his computer as a digiport, because he's away at sea right now. But, what about the others?...They will notice I'm missing..."
"Go. I've got you covered." Joe smiled at her. This was something she had to do, for her own sanity. Jade smiled back, and wasted no time using her D3 to open the digiport.

Jade closed the window behind her after crawling out of her cousin's window, toting a newly digivolved Satchelmon in her purse. She quickly found the door, and pulling together the last of her bravery, softly knocked on the door. After a few moments of no reply, she knocked again, harder this time. Another long moment, and Jade prepared to knock harder - only, his voice spoke out."Apparantly, my mother failed to inform me that today was shopping day, and failed to wake me up." he said, the voice coming from a speaker on the wall - a PA system. "Who are you, and how may I help you?" Jade bit her lip. If she said anything, he might turn her away. Her silence brought an irritated sigh from the speaker. "Great. Fucking speaker is broken again. Hold on..." After another long pause, the door opened.
"Hi." she said, hoping not to have the door shut in her face.
"....Jade? I don't..." he blinked, stepping back in surprise. "I wasn't expecting you here. You went back to Davis, back to Canada....I saw the digiport close behind you. You came back?"
"Yes, I did. I came to give you your answer, but before I do, there's something I think you need to see....Satchelmon?" At the beckon of his name, Satchelmon jumped from Jade's purse, and landed on Ken's chest, making him instinctively catch him.
"What...This is impossible." Ken exclaimed, looking down at the dragon-like digimon.
"It's not impossible. We aren't virtual; the digital world is a paralell world; one you were selected to protect and purify it; not destroy and dominate..." Satchelmon said, starting to sway his head like a pendulum, back and forth, in a smooth manner. He was hypnotizing Ken.
"That's...Not..."
"You will think back - you will remember a time when you were infected with great evil..." Satchelmon lead him.
"I remember....an email..." a dazed Ken supplied, standing there in his pajamas.
"That's right - you're going to delete it, in your mind..." Satchelmon started to glow a dark, black light, which overtook the three of them. "PURIFY!" Jade stepped back, her purse dropping to the ground as she covered her eyes. Ken staggered back as well, stopping only when he backed in to the back of their couch at the other end of the apartment. When the light died, Pijumon was laying weakly on the floor, and Ken's arms had gone limp.
"I have done all I can; I can't purify him. I've stopped the spread of evil, but it's up to him to fight it and heal himself. There is too much evil within him. He needs you, Jade. I need to sleep. He won't remember anything from the last few minutes - but leave it that way. Too much damage at once could hurt him. Now if you forgive me..." Then, Pijumon climbed his way back into her purse, and fell asleep. Ken slowly came out of his daze, staring at Jade.
"...What do I need to see?" he said, wondering in the back of his mind why his thinking was so fuzzy. His eyes peered into hers, mixed with hurt, confusion, and disbelief. Jade simply smiled; he thought she was going to show him another ring or something. She took a few steps walking, holding herself back. But the moment he looked back at her with a glimmer of hope, she couldn't restrain herself. She ran sacross the space between them, catching him by surprise again, tossed her arms around his shoulders, and collided her lips into his. Ken wasn't expecting that, and only half got his arms around her before they both fell backwards over the couch, and onto the floor, him landing on top of her. He blinked a few times, looking at her.
"I still haven't seen anything besides the floor..." he smirked, feeling a bit more like his normal self again. Jade laughed.
"Neither have I," she replied, holding up her left hand, implying the lack of a ring.
"Oh ye of little faith..." he smirked, and pressed his lips into hers again, hungry for her. He had come far too close to never seeing her again. "Come with me, back to the digital world..." he said, peppering her with kisses. "Be with me...Don't leave me again..." Jade let her hands relax on his shoulders, while his found their way to either side of her head. He indulged himself again, crashing his lips on hers with passion, not waiting to flick his tongue against hers. After a moment of enjoying it herself, she broke the kiss.
"Ken - there are parts of you that scare me - terrify me. But I accept them. I don't know how, but I have faith in you. And then, there's this beautiful part of you that only I see, and it's the reason why I love you...Yes, Ken Ichijouji. I will marry you."
